New Burma Peacock Blue Sapphire

Rosecut diamonds and sapphires...

Of course yours will be much more practical.

Ooh yes - fancy shape halo stones 100%swoon!!

I’d think rose cuts would be more cost effective than brilliant cuts - and easier to match up the set, to boot!

Thank you! That would be awesome... I assumed they'd carry a premium. :kiss2:

Oh wow... that's beyond a ring... that's architecture. Imagine recreating something like that with a padparadscha to symbolize the lotus blossom. :)

This could give you an idea on rosecut pear halo cttw/price. One has a 1ct tourmaline and used 0.5cttw diamonds, the other a 9.5ct tourmaline with 1.6cctw diamonds. The prices of are in SGD and include the center stones of course.

The IG acc disappeared and everything on their site is listed as sold, so not sure what happened to them.

Using an imgur link instead of resizing the images on my phone.
The look of such a halo bezel set with prongs for the center stone is also interesting but I really don't have a great eye for design. I would not want them pointing up.

OMG. Wow. What a stone. A friend texted a pic of it and I had to come find out who the lucky owner was right away!!

@Autumn in New England However many synonyms for “jackpot” there are in the English language - you hit ‘em all with this beauty!!

If I might add my 2c - I have to say that the first mount that came to mind was a simple solitaire, or something like @Cerulean just posted - with subdued sidestones that let that amazing BLUE take unfettered center stage. A stone like that doesn’t need any assistance to look her best ❤️

Thank you for all of the great comments, friends! The reason I was considering a halo or another more intricate design was because the stone is a bit smaller than I'm used to. It is a little under 9x7mm, which is usually my cut off. So I thought it was a tad small for a solitaire, and that a halo of some sort would make it appear more substantial. But I'm considering all options. :) Much appreciated!

What an amazingly beautiful stone, @Autumn in New England!! I adore this shade of blue sapphire, and I am doing a happy dance on your behalf! Although I totally understand if you prefer some embellishment to bump up the size, I have to agree with others that this sapphire is gorgeous enough to hold her own... simply stunning! Please feel free to shower us with many more photos of this beauty, and I can't wait to see how you set her!

Thanks so much for the input!!

Wow! What a gorgeous, deeply saturated blue! I love it and can't wait to see what you do with it!

Thanks so much, ladies! I had a couple of disappointments lately, so this was a pleasant surprise. 8)

Can't believe I missed this! What an absolutely incredible stone!
