New Engagement ring is burning a hole in my pocket!

I wasn't sure when I was going to ask the question but now that the ring is complete I am obsessed with it... cannot stop looking at it or thinking about it! It was so overwhelming to try to lick something. We went looking together and she made it clear that she would be happy with a string tied around her finger but her face lit up when we saw one with a split shank. She says that she didn't react differently but she did. I looked at quite a few and fell in love with this and nothing else seemed to compare for what I thought would be nice for her. As a man I don't care to compete for her to have the biggest stone of all of her friends but I do want to get her something that is nice enough that she won't want to upgrade. I'm okay with a new rhr but want her to love this one forever. There are a lot of giant diamonds posted on here and although I think they look really nice; this one is not one of the huge ones since I don't have the means anyways to acquire one but this one seamed to speak to me. Let me know what you think.

The ring is just beautiful - tell us about your stone! I think she will be incredibly happy with this - who wouldn't???
 
Thank you! She will be happy with anything I think... not in a always just wanted a husband type of way but in a she's rediculously un materialistic kind of way.

The stone is 1.54 ct GIA ex.ex.ex, Vs2, F and 7.36mm. The jeweler that set it (different from where I got the stone) said proportionately it couldn't get more perfect and that's why it sparkles so much. (much better in real life than those pictures) Don't know much more to say about the stone? I've learned a lot from lurking here.

I wish I could get pictures as great as ones others have posted... for reference Google images has some nice shots if you look up tacori 3001 and the factory pics have a 6.5mm stone for reference. ( I have no clue what that is for carrot weight.)

First let me say, that is an absolutely GORGEOUS ring. It's really elegant,classy and gorgeous. You did a REALLY good job!

Second the stone you got is HUGE! I think people think stones have to be boulder big to be good, but it's really all about the Cs. PS is filled with beautiful stones of all sizes! A lot of the big ones are beyond gorgeous, but I think people get lost in the size. You get what you can afford, and in no way shape or form should that be looked down upon (and you got a nice sized rock btw). If you can afford 5 carat rock go for it and enjoy (and post pictures please!) or if its a .50 carat GO for it (and post pictures please!)

what matters is you picked out a ring that you know she will love, and you had her tastes and desires in mind. You want her to have a ring that she will love forever. And I really think that is wonderful!

You picked out an incredibly gorgeous ring, she will love it.... forever!

Thanks for everyone's kind words! Its an important time and my nerves are crazy. I'll be talking with her dad soon; I've got to drive 10 hours to have dinner with him... and then the its game on for proposing. The ring is a nice looking one IMHO but its so much more for us since even though she hasn't seen it, her input and reaction to the style were huge atributes when I was picking it out. She is going to love it because of the specificness (is that a word?) of it. I've had it for 3 days and can't stop pulling out to look at it:)
