So I just adopted a 15 month old cat... and she smells. Not like horrible street cat smell, just like of a faint cat litter and associated themes. I bathed her and used an all natural very gentle cat shampoo and she still has a smell to her. The shampoo had no scents(which I guess is a good thing) but a little fragrance would be nice. I blow dryed her hair(which she loved!) and brushed it all out. She looks lovely but I don''t want to snuggle with her yet...haha! Could I wipe her down with some baby wipes or something?

It''s not a health thing as she''s just been to the vet and I asked about it and he was like, ''What smell?'' and I was like, ''Smell her!!!'' and he said that was just because the previous home didn''t clean the litter enough.

Any ideas?

MissPrudential: Just take the vet''s advice and wait few days.Maybe some cat''s knowledgeable folks here will give you more info, but I would just stick to the vet''s advice for now.Cats do clean themselves and you don''t want to put anything on her that she will be licking off and potentially get sick from it.Good luck and I am sure your vet knows best.

Give it a little time, as she is now in a safe happy clean home, any odours should go and she will be cleaning herself anyway!
