Hello all,

Some of you may recall this stone, as I've had it for a few years now. I finally got around to setting it with DK. I knew I wanted an exaggerated faux serrated bezel and a floral marquise/round halo. What I didn't realize is, because the stone is quite a bit larger than my design inspo, and I also added the border, the diamonds had to be huge. And then it was just starting to look really clunky, heavy, and... rotund. It was losing the delicate "petal" vibe. The cost was also getting crazy. So we went with a spaced halo to preserve the floral look, and more reasonable sized diamonds. In truth, I wasn't sure we hit the mark at first. Amy might still tweak a detail here or there (prongs), but I'm loving her.

Anyway, here are the stats:

~5.38ct. untreated pad from Sri Lanka
~18k rose gold and 950 platinum
~2.56ct. F, VS diamonds

I think you may need to set the quality to 1080p on the video. It's correct on my end, but then keeps defaulting to 360p. :roll2:

Beautiful!

Absolutely fabulous! That is one incredible gem and an an amazing setting! I particularly love the bezel and the prong work.

That color is amazing! Enjoy your ring in good health!

Omg! What a beauty...!!! :kiss2:

It's exquisite! The color combo is so dreamy. (I would add a bunch of heart eye emojis but I can't seem to insert them with my phone.)

I adore the profile view, with the delicate gallery and band. What are you doing to the prongs?

Wow -- truly spectacular! A sunset sapphire and a sunburst halo! Love the "just right" hue and tone of the padparadscha and the alternating marquise and rounds. And I love the "tram tracking" of the "bezel" (!) and how the mixed metals complement the different design elements. Truly a miniature work of art! Wear it often and enjoy it in happiness and good health!

I appreciate the kind words; thank you!! So I had initially envisioned something else for the prongs... 6 doubles or something along those lines. But I do love the 12 singles, because they correspond to the 12 halo diamonds, and my OCD likes that. lol

Tram tracking! Love!! It may seem like a very simple design, and it is, but it took a while (surprisingly) to perfect. I feel like that sometimes happens with these types of pieces, because any missteps are obvious. So I'm glad you noticed all of those little goodies. It also took me yearrrrrs (and a few failures) to get the color of the stone just right. Not too light, not too pink... that was my motto! Thank you for the encouragement, my friend!!

I noticed the prongs lining up with each halo stone, and I really like that detail!

I love when others pick up on small, seemingly insignificant details that you pored over. This ring took the most CADs of any I've worked on... and it's so simple. lol

I'm in love with your new Maxine ring!

It's very appropriate for spring too with the "clover" diamond accents.

Hand shots hand shots hand shots!!

And any family pictures you are willing to post.

I just saw this on DK instagram and fell in love with it! LOVE the prongs and the reeded bezel detail. An exceptional ring.

That stone…. Omg, I have to go back to look at it again

I am not sure I have ever loved a gemstone as much as this one…. Omg - soooooo pretty!

Omg, and you picked plat and 18k rose… I die. ❤️

You're so sweet for saying that! She's modest by PS standards but I'm in love with her.

Where were you when I was trying to describe this type of bezel to DK? :lol-2: I knew it wasn't quite milgrain, but couldn't find the right term. I just ended up calling it serrated, which felt wrong. lol So thank you for that... I learned something new! And thank you for the kind words!!
