New Sapphire, need setting help!

MTG, I am basing my search for "the" Sapphire on YOUR stone! I just thought I'd let you know...because to me, that is my ideal Sapphire. I don't know if I will ever be able to afford a stone like that, but that is what I am looking for..lol. Great stone, and nice ring, and I am sooooo envious!!!

Thank you Chrisa, that's so nice of you to say! I'm sure you'll find something gorgeous!

No prob! I am in love with that stone. But It's "Chris". The "a" is the first digit of my last name. I'm a guy..chrisa sounds so girly!

Anyways, I was looking for the vendor of the stone...and the only info I could find in this post was that you bought it from someone named "brad". I don't know who Brad is...can you help me out? Maybe I can contact him and ask him if he has any stones with this color or similar? Or at least maybe there is a website that I can look at?

Thanks MTG!

Oh my, sorry about that Chris!

Brad is the owner of thegemtrader.com. Very nice and knowledgable gentleman to work with. Hope that helps!

Wonderful ring! Congratulations! Done in such a short period of time!

Thanks! Did you ever get your beautiful blue cushion sapphire set?

The ring turned out beautifully, even better than I imagined.

We, more seasoned posters, are so used to using acronyoms and just the vendor's first name because we naturally assume everybody knows the vendor too. It is a good reminder to slow down occasionally to explain in greater detail.

Thanks so much chrono! You have such lovely pieces and great taste so I'm glad you like it.

That is one gorgeous ring, MTG! I love the design, and the color of the sapphire just pops! It is so strong, so very obviously blue... And I think yellow gold was a great choice.

Thanks! I am partial to medium dark intensely colored stones.

No, MTG. Haven't even found a jeweler.

Well if you ever decide your bored of the stone just hanging around, I promise I'd give it a happy home! Hehe.
If you need suggestions you can always start a thread.

FInally found my camera, so wanted to add some nicer photos.

Wow! Beautiful rings! I'm not a big fan of bezel (?) settings but the left most ring is stunning! (as the others as well!)

I love halo settings. The three favorite rings (that I wear the most) are all halo settings. I have to be careful or that's all that I'd own.

I think PS needs a rule. Every thread must have eye candy. No posting of threads unless there are pictures.

I like this rule! :naughty:

MTG,
Did your jeweller source the accent diamonds? They look very pretty.

I actually bought the accents separately myself. She's a jeweler but actually seems to spend most of her time doing bike badges and other non fine jewelery things, lol. But she was great to work with, and I'll likely go back for other creative custom work.

You have a good eye for diamonds - clean, bright and of quite good cutting.

Thanks chrono!

Although sometimes the nice cutting on the diamonds makes the sapphire look poorly done by comparison since it wasn't precision cut to pricescope standards. But color is king as they say and so far I can forgive the unmaximized cut in light of the lovely color. Who knows, maybe some day that'll change and I'll need to upgrade to another sapphire. ;)

That turned out so cool! It has a sort of Egyptian aesthetic. Congrats on graduation, and enjoy the ring!

Thanks! We'll see how much the non precision cutting bugs me in the long run
I swear I see a small window now that it's set!
