New setting for OEC/OMC stone? Possibly Single Stone?

I got a lovely 1.18 ct stone for the holidays and it's currently in a 60s style plain platinum ring with two baguettes. I'd love to find it a more vintage looking home. Any idea of the ball park of getting a single stone setting? I don't even want to call if it's going to be WAY out of my price range! Also, any other suggestions of places to look for settings/semi-mounts?
Thanks!

I don't know what is wrong with me, but I just love the setting already. I love the prongs and the baguettes and the platinum. I would try on some gorgeous french cut bands, perhaps with some color alternating with the diamonds, before I made a change.

Thanks - I do kind of like it as is too! I wish the pic was a little better - one thing you can't really see is that it's slightly oval shaped and is set more east/west. I think most people would never notice this though! I'm contemplating getting it resized and possibly set more north/south and wearing it as is while looking for a setting.
Since it's currently too big I've been wearing it with a vintage orange blossom band to keep it on and the engraved band really looks lovely with the older stone. It's keeping me searching for a setting! :)

I also really love the setting you currently have, so very classic and elegant.

If you do decide to get a setting through Single Stone, might I make one suggestion - please choose something that they've either already done or is very much in the vein of the style in which they specialize. They made me a custom setting as my original engagement ring that, let's just say, didn't work out, and it was such an upsetting situation that I wouldn't wish upon anyone. It kind of sort of really tainted my memories of what should've been a completely blissful time. That's not to say anything against Ari, he was completely upstanding and righted the situation when we wanted to just walk away and start over elsewhere. I just wanted to warn you not to ask them to do something they don't normally do.
ETA - if this isn't for your engagement ring, as it sounds perhaps it might not be, I guess the same 'emotions running on high' may not apply. Though, wasted time and frustration are things to be avoided, regardless, IMO.

I think the e/w setting is part of the charm. I would never set it n/s. It would take away from the era look that is so perfect.

I am also feeling the e/w setting of the stone

When I asked for a quote it was in the mid 2k range. That quote was for a bezel three stone ring that had a little detail on the shank next to the bezel in platinum. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info on White Flash - both the quote and the experience. I'm worried that the irregularity of my stone might give me a hard time when it comes to finding a setting. I might just set up camp in front of the computer and just wait for something to pop up on ebay!

Until the perfect setting presents itself I think I'm going to get this ring sized - I don't want to inadvertently bash it on something. I just have to decide whether or not to get them to rotate the stone. Any other thoughts on e/w vs. n/s?

Thanks all! I'd still love any setting thoughts you might have for a more vintage look :D

Single Stone has been quite accommodating about working within my budget and helping me make the most of it. I have used them several times for a recut, settings and repairs and I think their prices are very reasonable for exemplary work. They just gave me a pair of earrings in a contest so now I really adore them more than ever but that's not coloring my opinion....you can't ask for a better jeweler.

I love the setting its in.

Here's a fairly blurry hand shot to give you a better idea:
