Hi,

I got this ring as a gift from my hubby back when we were dating 10 yrs ago.....I think they called it a Teal lite or something....if you know what it is exactly, I'd appreciate it!

I love the stone....its one of my favorite colors.....thats why hubby bought it for me....but I am not liking the setting anymore.

Do any of you have any suggestions for a new setting for this stone??? I dont think it was too expensive.....maybe $200 or so....so I dont think its worth an expensive setting.
OR, would you just rhodium plate it silver???

ok, gonna try to post the pic....

that''s such a beautiful color.
Do you still like that style of setting?

I bet Ana would have some nice setting suggestions if you want a change.

thanks sevens....if its not too expensive......I''d like to change it.. I''m not in a huge rush either...so it can be a "work in progress" too....

Ana....you here????

I think, and don''t quote me, but I think that stone is called apatite. It''s a really beautiful color. I like it.

Yes, Shay is right. It looks like apatite. I have an apatite ring too. It is a very, very soft, fragile stone so resetting it may present an issue, not sure. They recommend setting it in a setting so that the stone isn''t raised up high in case the table of the stone gets smacked hard against something. The stone could be damaged that way.

I agree, looks like an apatite to me. What a beautiful stone. Love the color. I would recommend a bezel setting to protect it. I''m not sure where it registers on the mohs scale of hardness.

thanks everyone! nice to know the correct name of the stone!

do you have any pic of bezel settings that you think would work well with this?

THIS would be a great thread for over in the colored gemstone section as well. I am sure that Pscopers that lurk there would love to see this ring and give their .02 about the stone and setting. Just a suggestion. Beautiful... reminiscent of Parabia tourmaline.. YUM YUM

thank you MINE, I posted over there.
