Newly engaged with a lovely OEC!

It's beautiful, so bright! Congratulations on your engagement :twirl:

Wow! Gorgeous. I love the classic solitaire. Congrats!

Thank you all for the lovely comments! I'm so glad that this ring is PS approved! We bought it from a local jeweler - no analysis or numbers, just what we saw with our eyes, and cupping the diamond over my hand to see the pattern under the table. The lighting at the jewelers definitely showed off the warmth of the stone, but the managers at the store said their overhead lighting was optimized for sparkle and scintillation, and over time the bulbs emit a yellow hue which may have exaggerated the color. My SA said she thought it looked more like a J from above in other lighting, and I totally thought she was lying. The color was actually something I did worry about, but it sparkled so nicely that I didn't really care, and after pouring through the lower colored threads, I was ready to take on a little tint. At Starbucks it looked completely white and gorgeous. Perhaps in other settings it will show its warmth, but for now, all I can really see is white.

I tried my best with the close ups, but I think the lighting in my apartment is just not cutting it. If the weather warms up here, I will try to take it outside and see how the pics turn out. In the meantime, here's what I was able to get. With the naked eye, there is a beautiful flower/snowflake pattern under the table, and I think some pictures may have captured it a bit. If anyone has any tips, I'm happy to hear them! I have heard that blocking the source of light will help, but I don't how to do that with overhead ceiling lighting. But for now, here they are! Sorry for the cloudy/grimy areas, diamond is already getting dirty from lotions, shampoos, and soaps!

And the last few! And a hand shot for good measure :)

PS - Sorry for the random blue line, some pictures show up with it and I have no idea how to fix it

ITs a beautiful stone set in a classic setting that will be timeless and always perfect!! It looks wonderful on you -- and your flowers!! How did you get thru the day today, knowing you should be outside taking pics to post on PS!!??? Or under halogen bulbs?!? Or in the car... anywhere - keep the pics rolling!

ITs a beauty - and I just love the story. I keep thinking about your proposal - just so wonderful!

An OEC post! Yay!! Your diamond looks oh so bright!!! Is it blinding you yet? Because it is just beautiful! Any pictures of pastels? And I would love to see pics of the warmth of your diamond! We are almost diamond twins!

I definitely love looking at it, it can be so distracting! I'm left handed so whenever I write notes, it's just THERE, telling me to look at it!

If I can capture its warmth, I will try to get pictures. Your OEC is SO lovely YayTacori - I kept going back to your thread to see if a warmer stone would bother me, and of course to look at a gorgeous setting with an even more gorgeous diamond. I didn't realize I'd end up getting a diamond so similar to yours!

Gorgeous Ring! I love your OEC and you picked the perfect setting for it! i can't wait to see how you plan to wear it with a wedding band...I see stackers in your future!

I'm excited about that too! We went with a simple solitaire so we could be more creative with a wedding band. We plan on getting semi-matching bands, so you will see me again asking for advice and feedback!

Thank you so much Enerchi! Your kind words mean so much to me! I wanted to take a picture driving today but the traffic was way to heavy, but I will definitely do that if I'm stuck in traffic, or some mess that I always end up in while driving.

I'm drooling. Amazing ring!!!

It is gorgeous. Congratulations.

Soooo beautiful! I love the facets :appl:

Well you guys have great eyes, because it certainly looks like a very nicely cut OEC! The pattern is just gorgeous!

Ok, I am officially past jealous! Left handed?! I wish I was left handed!!

It's really lovely! I am such a sucker for that vanilla/antique lace color. Congrats! Love your polish, too! :)

Your ring is gorgeous! Congratulations again. :))

It is beautiful, congratulations!

Congrats again! The ring is beautiful, the flowers are beautiful, the story is beautiful and I'm just so happy for you!

Congrats lucky lady! It's a timelessly beautiful ring!

Congratulations!!! It's a beauty and such a classic setting!

I'm back! I hope you guys aren't annoyed yet! :Up_to_something:

Here's my attempt at trying to get the warmth of the stone. I never realized how important lighting is until now. These pictures are against a white index card, but please ignore the geeky text from my review books. I'm so happy with this ring. Face up it's so pretty and although I'm not as color sensitive as others, I think this ring faces up very white for an L color stone. My mom is all about color and whiteness so I wonder if I can stump her when I show her ;))

I think your EGL L looks whiter than my GIA L!!! But you're right, the lighting for sure makes a truckload of difference. I went into an auto parts store (Never seen my ring sparkle like that before. Not even at the mall or Home Depot. It was on freaking steroids.) and the center looked the same color as the G/H melee stones. But that's the only place I have seen it do that. You should visit an auto parts store. I went to an O'reilly's with DH and I probably looked like a fool walking around with my hand up in the air while men were looking at auto parts.

Congratulations!!!! :appl: I am so happy for you! Your ring is gorgeous!!! Wonderful size, too!!!

Both the diamond and the ring are beautiful! Congratulations on your engagement! :appl:

Stunning !! The flowers as a background make such gorgeous pics! Your place must look (and smell) amazing with all those flowers around

Wow, that is a stunning OEC...lucky you! congrats on your engagement...and thanks for all the pictures...just can't get enough of those OEC's.

I just came by to drool some more :)

Gorgeous!!! Congrats on your proposal!!! What a beautiful timeless ring!

Congrats on your engagement, and your beautiful ring! Nice simple setting, and a good size for your finger. :) It looks quite a bit whiter than my N-O, but do see the hint of warmth in a couple of the pictures, which I like too. That's what I find fun and interesting about the warmer diamonds - you never know what you're going to see when you look down at it! Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to find an auto parts store... :naughty:

Congrats on your engagement! Your ring is simply gorgeous. I'm such a sucker for a beautiful OEC.

Is your polish a gel/shellac? I love the color, and would love to know who makes it, and what the color name is :)

Such a beautiful ring, congratulations! The facet patterning looks lovely, and as everyone else has said, it faces up so white! :))
