Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I got bad news, too.

@Kim N was brave to post her news. I got the same news last Tuesday—a positive biopsy result that was only 2-10% chance of being positive. Such a shock.

Things are moving fast. Mine is an aggressive form of breast cancer, called triple negative. It’s a whole new complicated world, so I’m not here as much because I have, suddenly, different priorities. I will find out the stage on September 18, after more tests and biopsies.

I still get much joy from my jewelry hobby. I want beauty in my life still, even though I will be restricted from wearing it, when it would comfort me the most.

Although the community here is virtual, I have come to consider this part of my daily routine, and cherish y‘all.

Oh, wtf @Mrsz1ppy -- I'm so sorry! That sounds so unexpected and out of the blue. It breaks my heart -- what miserable news. (And, on re-reading, that sounds a tiny bit like sad Dr. Seuss but I'm not gonna change it.) :cry2:

I am hoping for the best in terms of the upcoming staging. Thank you for sharing that. If you're willing, please keep us updated.

Back at you, kid.
We are your community, and we'll be here to buoy you up, make you laugh, or let you vent. Anything.
We will be here.

Oh no, @Mrsz1ppy! I can imagine the shock. How terribly unfair. Please keep us updated, if you have the time and energy. You'll be in my thoughts.

I'm so sorry to read your news. Of course you are shocked, and no doubt scared. We are here for you.

Sorry to hear that.

I was shocked to hear Calcium deposits were found in my routine mammogram back in 2020 just before the start of Lockdown.

A few trips to the hospital during lockdown later for more samples and day surgery to remove the deposits, and they were found not to be cancerous, and I am still in the clear.

My mind did go through a "what if" stage, however that was more for updating my plans for a managed exit.

Good luck with your results. Hugs!

DK :))

I’m so sorry @Mrsz1ppy.

Please know that the people who love you are every bit as shocked as you are, and they’re thinking about you, and praying for you, and thinking about how they might be able to help.

So many shocks right now. First the surprise of something to maybe actually be a bit worried about. Then the surprise of having the most unlikely possibility come true. Then the gut punch of the triple negative news. You wouldn’t be human if you weren’t reeling.

I’m not going to say anything about hoping for good staging news etc. I know that for me - sometimes it’s helpful to mentally prepare for the worst. I will say, don’t try to judge your odds from the internet. Those articles that oh-so-cavalierly throw expectancy and recovery rates out like candy - don’t take any of that tripe to heart. My mother is going through breast cancer treatment right now and the one thing I’ve learnt is that none of those statistics ever apply to an individual. Every case really is unique.

Be kind to yourself. There is nothing that you could have done to avoid this. There is nothing that you should have done to avoid this. You’ve just been dealt a sh*tty hand of luck. You’re going to have a lot of trips to the doctor, probably going to be doing a lot of arguing with your health insurance provider, some of the diagnostics will be uncomfortable, you’re going to spend time anxiously waiting for answers. Please reach out to people for help with all of that. Anytime you need. People close to you IRL, people on this forum… They want to help and they’ll be happy to help.

And if you need to chuck some dishware only thing is to remember to avoid the Corelle, cleaning that sh*t up is just the worst!
