Novice in need of advice for (hopefully soon to be) fiancée's engagement ring! Total budget ~$40k

Thank you so much :) I suppose I was wondering if the claw prongs were rather large, and if rounded would be less obvious - but perhaps you're right that actually the claws blend in better. Of course, it'll all be much smaller in real life - if only I didn't live on another continent, I could actually see it in person!

These prongs look so much smaller in real life viewing! Victor is a master of prongs! Many of us use him because of his designs and we know he does the prongs so well! You've chosen outstanding diamonds and workmanship! I don't think you could have done any better! I hope you'll come back with some pictures of the ring on her hand after you have proposed!

Thank you so much for your advice! I've gone ahead with the prongs as VC designed (:

Disaster has struck! The rough has an inclusion that would bump the clarity down to a vs1 (which tragically won't work). We can cut around it but will drop to 1.75 (presumably with a corresponding price drop). I'm waiting to hear back...

In other news absolutely gorgeous inspirations, thank you so much. I think definitely a platinum band (she's a winter). VC sent me an inspiration piece that I like the simplicity of the setting for:

His tri-wire is to die for. I miss mine.

Omg the ring is stunning. I wouldnt worry about the prongs before seeing the ring IRL. I'm very confident it will be beautiful when you see it in person
