Now I really did it :((

Good morning girls! Happy Father's Day!

Marcy love that your astronomy class on weird things went so well and there was much interest in the topic.
You sure had a full day yesterday and glad you enjoyed time with your sister and BIL and Marty and there was good food involved. Sweet! And while you have a lot of laundry to do today (and btw hasn't Marty ever heard of laundry service at the hotels? LOL he should have it done before he gets home!) there can be something satisfying about accomplishing washing one's laundry. I rather enjoy doing it but I don't like folding it. Have a good Sunday!

Austina so happy you can see yourself living in the USA in Austin. I hear it is a terrific place to live. Hope you enjoyed the movie last night.

Leaving you with a few photos of yesterday which was a rainy dreary day. In the morning yesterday Greg built a cat window seat. The cats are loving it and all of them have already tried it out and deemed it a success.:appl:

First Francesca investigated.

frankiewindowseat.JPG

then Tommy.

tommywindowseat.jpeg

Then Bobby later that day.

bobbywindowseat.JPG

and finally even Fred made his way up there. We have an ottoman there to help him since he can no longer jump due to arthritic limbs.

and of course no day is complete without bling. We went shopping yesterday and couldn't resist taking a few bling shots. Thank you to the lovely woman whose ring caught my eye. She had not cleaned it in a while (and lol she sprayed windex on it right before the photo but not sure it helped) but I thought it was eye catching anyway. And she is so sweet to have indulged me in sharing a few photos. She might even check out PS as I gave her the website if she was interested.

And I did purchase my first pair of Gucci sunglasses. It was bw this pair and another pair of Maui Jims and considering I have 8 plus pairs of Maui Jim sunglasses I decided to go for the Gucci. Sorry about the blurry photo but I took it in the car ride home. Excuse my messy appearance. It was a full day of shopping outdoors in 100% humidity. Not a good hair day or anything appearance day LOL.

Have a wonderful Sunday and a good Father's Day girls!:wavey:

Hi NIRDIs!

Missy, Greg’s window seat for the kitties is fabulous. I can completely understand why they approve of it. Bea looks fabulous in your pictures along with that other lady’s gorgeous set. Your Gucci glasses look terrific on you. Marty has used the laundry service in hotels before but I’d still wash everything in his suitcase when he gets home anyway. I am supper tried today and definitely not very motivated. I am down to my last batch in the washer and when I get it in the dryer I can “forget’ it if I want because it’s jeans.

I slept in until about 8 - maybe that is why I am tired. I met Marty at the golf course for lunch and a drink. I had a grilled cheese sandwich which was sadly more like a toasted sandwich with kind of melted cheese in it; I was hungry though so I ate it. I am pretty hungry now. Marty is going to grill some chicken for him and a little steak for me for supper.

Tomorrow is Monday already. Darn - where did the weekend go? Maybe I should take a day off this week. Marty may or may not be gone next week; he will probably find out tomorrow.

Have a fabulous evening.
Marcy

Good morning from Scandinavia!
Hope your weekend was fantastic! Mine was :) LOL I will show you:

... as you can see, we have just started - FINALLY - painting the walls! Don't get me wrong, I don't really like paining. But the painter is not available until the fall (whattttt????) so we have decided to do the bathrooms ourselves, so that the showers etc can be fitted in there without further ado :-) This is however not the bathroom. It is technical. Decided that is was safer to start there, just in case... hahaha. So this is behind the dryer. Figured it could not go so bad that the dryer would object... lol! The colours are a bit off, the timber is normal timer colour, and not quite as yellow as it might look. As you can see, this is not paint but a kind of stain. Allows the structure of the wood to be seen. But as you might remember, I want a white look. So I will try one more coat tonight if I can find the time. My shoulder started objecting yesterday, so had to ask DH to finish for me. So annoying.
I'll be back during lunch, have to make a few calls first. Something about people at work wanting me to work and all that... LOL
Hugs!

Hello again!
Missy, I think you are on, so good morning :wavey:
I love the picture of HRH taking your pillow and place in bed :-) Furbaby likes to trick DH to get out of bed by pretening she needs to go outside. Then when he gets up, she jumps in with me :lol-2:
Bling pictures are always a good thing, clean or not. That reminds me, I need to get better at cleaning my rings. What do you use/do?
Love your sunglasses, makes me want a new pair too :P The new tandem looks like a lot of fun! Hope you get it soon?
Marcy, please assign Marty to laundry duty. It is the least he can do after leaving you alone with both cooking and dishes for so long... Hope you will have a good and - for us, not just kidding - entertaining Monday at work. Wish I new more about astronomy, sounds interesting. Please tell me what you are having for dinner today, and make it something good, I'm hungry..

Good morning girls!

Marcy I don't know where the weekend went. Zip it's gone. Thank you for the compliments re the window seat (Greg says thank you too) and sunglasses. Yes I see how you might want to rewash everything especially if one might be worried about picking something up. I still think about the dreaded bedbugs {shudder}. I hope Mr Marty won't be having to go away on business so soon again next week. Fingers crossed. How could that restaurant mess up grilled cheese. It's a travesty! Grilled cheese sigh. So delicious when done right. I am craving some right now. Darn it Marcy.:P:lol-2::kiss:

Hope your Monday goes smoothly!

Scandi! Hello! LOVE the progress photos and I am impressed you and your dh are staining/painting the walls yourself. LOL you are right. The washer and dryer don't mind you practicing on the wall behind them. Darn your job always bothering you. Don't they know you have other things you must do?:halo: Thanks for the sunglass love. Yes it is my first non Maui Jim sunglasses in a while and I wore it yesterday for the first time and it was comfortable and though not polarized it was good. I was able to read my phone in the car (while not driving of course as my dh was driving haha) and it was easier than the polarized sunglasses to do so. I got them for a deal! I wish we had more time when you are visiting I would take you to the outlets here. Some sweet deals to be had. I am not sure when the tandem will be ready but it won't be a simple process. We have to travel back to the dealer in Hamilton Township when he gets it and puts it together for a fitting and a trial around the neighborhood (so it cannot be raining) and then we have to go back home without it since we cannot transport it back to our beach house in our car (it is huge) and wait for the dealer to figure it out. He lives in Red Bank so relatively close to us and he will get it to us after the fitting and trial once we are OK. But it might take a while since there are a lot of moving parts. Literally and figuratively. LOL.

Please keep us posted re your renos. You are almost finished woohoo! So exciting!:appl:

We got to ride for 40 miles yesterday morning so yay for that and then we packed up and came home a day early. Usually we come home Monday late morning but since we had been away for 17 days we decided to just come home early. So much to do. Mail, packages and fix everything that went wrong while we were gone. And OMG some upsetting news but won't share it here probably. Will tell you girls individually as we know more. Sigh. It is truly always something and usually more than just one something.::)

Have a wonderful Monday girls. ((((HUGS)))).:wavey:

Callie, yes I know! How could anyone forget?? A furbaby-baby! Unforgivable! You can Wget pictures from Missy, I stole them so can't post. Right now we are trying to find a good name.

We were thinking "Ronja Roverdatter" (office translation: Ronja Robber's daughter, but it is really more like "Ronja Outlaw - think like a Robber that is Robin Hood). So as our furbaby does a lot of mischief, and it will be kind of like her daughter, that was always the plan. But not good to name a boy as a girl, now is it....

Austina, will visit with the breader in about 3 weeks, will take tons of pictures for you girls then!

June, how was your weekend?

Got to run! Will try to get back!

Good morning lovelies!

We went to see Wonder Woman, it was a lot of tosh really, but fun

Scandi, I would come and help you decorate if I could, I love it! When our son got his house, our first trip was spent painting

Lovely to see photos of the kitties 'on holiday', when we get home, we will be taking Dottie away for a week to Wales for her holiday :P

It's our last day here, we leave for home tomorrow, it's flown by, but I will be glad to get home and collect my girl, I miss her when we're away

We have an appointment this morning, so I better get moving.

Have a great day ladies :wavey:

Hi PSers! I'm new to this thread but think it's neat that ya'll are online pen pals talking about life. I'll share a bit about the weekend. Couple of friends of ours met for brunch after a run practice. It's a vegan/veg place. The menu made me think it was ultra hippie and nothing would taste good. Got a taco with tofu scrambler. It really surprised me and will actually try to recreate it at home possibly. We also tried an ice cream place this weekend. I'm more of the gal who is content with buying pints at the store but it was a treat during the day to escape the heat. There were many unique flavors - blackberry with basil, honey and lavendar, goat cheese and honey and thyme, dark chocolate with olive oil and sea salt.... yum! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

Missy – Love the cat photos! My cat loves to sun bath. He’s gray and white but after 8 years his gray seems to be turning more brown. Perhaps it’s all the sunbathing or maybe it’s if you already have “gray” fur that as you get older it changes to “brown.”

Austinia – Hello! I’ve lived in Texas my whole life. Yes it’s hot hot hot and feels like summer already. Every year though I find myself asking, how do I get through this time period? Haha but I guess it’s just one of those things you just get used to or plan your outings either early in the day or in the evening. Glad you enjoyed Wonder Woman! Hope to watch that movie sometime.

Scandinavian – I’m not a fan of painting at all. The worst is painting ceilings. Half the time with painting, I think I spill more from not holding the paint stead then the actual brushstroke. Good luck with the process. With wood, have you considered staining it instead of painting? I don’t know much about painting but believe that was another option.

Hi Austina and PierreBear!

Austina have a safe trip back. Your visit seemed to go so quickly. Isn't that always the case. Glad you had a wonderful visit and glad you enjoyed the movie last night. I know you cannot wait to see your sweet baby and I know she cannot wait either. Safe flight!

PierreBear hi there! I hope you continue sharing here. We love chatting with you and enjoy your company. I love vegan food and I love the people who are vegan. Generally they are lovely people who are down to earth real and kind. My favorite type of people.:halo: I used to be a vegan in my twenties and thirties and am considering going back to vegan again. Right now I am a pescetarian. Though some people might say I am a pickyatarian.
Glad you had a lovely weekend!

Hope everyone is enjoying their day and staying cool.

Scandi--a new puppy sounds so exciting! Is he another English Setter? We need pictures when you finally get to the breeder. (For the record, my dog is an English Springer Spaniel and she doesn't seem to understand a word of English...)

Hi NIRDIs!

Scandi, looks like more progress on your place. Nice! You do make me laugh. I wasn’t in the mood for shenanigans today so I avoided my employees like the plague. I put my headphones on and worked on reports and procedures. Supper was pretty tasty. I had a bowl of homemade soup, some strawberries and a dish of vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup. I so agree Marty needs to do some of those household chores since he ditched for a few weeks with that lame excuse “I’m working”. Right.

Missy, Greg’s kitty seat makes me want to have Marty move our den around so I can have a window seat in there - we’d just move the recliner so I can be right in front of the window. Right now I can see the little girls across the street running around in their princess dresses and shoes; and they are screaming and giggling like little girls. They are pretty cute. I was really worried about what Marty might bring home from some of the countries he visited overseas. I’d put stuff in the washing machine the minute he walked in the door. Scary, indeed. I agree - grilled cheese are hard to mess up and quite tasty. I used to eat them a lot (sometimes with an egg) on school nights. Filling and quick. I am glad the bike dealer is working with you and Greg to get your new tandem ready and then get it to your beach house. Pretty exciting for you. Oh no, I hate to hear you had some bad news. Thinking of you. Pickytarian. Ha Ha.

Austina, I can’t believe your vacation is over already either. Darn; it did go fast. You and Missy both had nice vacations though.

PierreBear, it sounds like you had a nice weekend. You probably can tolerate the heat there more than those of us just visiting. We went to the Myrtle Beach area last August for 2 weeks and that heat and humidity was a bit much for me.

Hi SpringerSpaniel.

I definitely kept to myself at work today. I met a friend for lunch and we sat outside, it was very nice. Marty is at the gym tonight. After I cooked supper and did dishes I went out and picked off dead or shriveling up flowers. Most of the plants are doing pretty good.

Have a great Tuesday.
Marcy

Some of my pots are filling in - sadly some of them look bleak from hail damage.
Flowers.jpeg pots.jpeg

Good morning girls!

Marcy
, your flowers are breathtakingly gorgeous. Those colors!!! Thank you for sharing the photos of them. LOVE. I am sorry the hail storm caused some damage and I hope they all recover. Sounds like a calm uneventful work day and yay for meeting a friend in the middle of the day. Sweet. I think you should have Marty make you a window seat. But have him make it for people weight because I asked Greg ooh can I sit on the window seat too and he said better not. :wink2: Geezlouise the kitties get all the fun.:P I never heard of putting egg on grilled cheese. Very interesting. Haha yes I am a pickytarian. But only in the nicest sense of the word. :cheeky: Hope the rest of your workweek goes very well!

Hello Springerspaniel, haha your English spaniel doesn't understand a word of English.:lol-2: That's OK he isn't missing much.

Hope the NIRDIs who are in 100 degree plus temps are staying cool and comfortable. And hoping everyone is enjoying a lovely week. (((HUGS))) to all.:wavey:

Marcy--these flowers are spectacular! What kinds are they? I am glad they are recovering from the hail potatoes.

Missy--good morning! I really enjoyed the pictures of your cats on the window seats. I'm in Philly at a conference and the temps are not over 100 but it's very humid, like walking in soup outside.

Have a great week everyone---looking forward to hearing more of the adventures of Tandem Recumbent Triking (had to be careful typing there....wasn't "Tandem Recumbent Tricking" a **** movie?) and seeing Scandi's house and puppy.

Hahaha Springerspaniel, I know right? Darn autocorrect. :P Or maybe it is trying to tell me something since I might be retiring from my career soon...a new profession for me perhaps? LOL hardly! Nobody wants (except my dh that is ) this old body LOL.:oops2:

Enjoy your conference! I LOVE Philly though not in the high heat and humidity and last time we were there it was just that- a sultry oven. In fact I was just saying to my dh last week I want to go back to Philly when the weather cools off. LOVE Philadelphia. Stay cool and have fun.:wavey:

Good morning! I’m elevating my health habits too much. I aspire to be as vegetarian/vegan as I can with my meals. However, it is challenging to always cook that way or share a meal with friends. A tasty steak or burger is pretty darn satisfying but as my body matures, it certainly doesn’t process it the way it used to.

On a side note, I woke up this morning and put on a skirt I’ve had for gosh… at least 5 years. Didn’t realize it until driving in the car that I have some stains on it. I’m going to guess its balsamic vinegar dressing the way it is spotted. Such a bummer and catching it so late not sure if it’s worth dry cleaning to get it out or if it’s just time to say goodbye to the skirt.

Btw – What does NIRDI stand for? Nice intelligent ring dreamers incorporate? New important random daily information? That’s pretty much as creative as I can get… : ) Have a good day everyone!

Missy – Wow congrats on living that lifestyle in the past. Hilarious on the pickyatarian. Haven’t heard of that before but way to control what goes into your body. At the moment, I’ve been diligent about bringing a salad for lunch everyday (with the occasional shredded meat toppings) and cooking dinners at home so it’s only weekend eating out. However, I have such a sweet tooth. I love the 50% off candy that happens after holidays and actually just polished off some Cadbury eggs from Easter. How it lasted that long, I’m not so sure!

SpringerSpaniel – Adorable icon!

Marcy – Wow! Goodness you have quite the green thumb. I am a lover of cactus and have a better understanding of those type of plants but not flowers. It feels like summer time in Texas over here but I guess it’s still Spring weather where you are? Everything generally has already bloomed or is starting to just get a weepy look due to the lack of rain.

Here we go again...

20170620_172250-1.jpg

Hahaha Pierrebear I like your guess better than what it really stands for lol. Sarahb I think was the one who "coined" the acronym NIRDI here. It stands for my title. Now I Really Did It. Nothing too exciting  Sorry to disappoint.

I say try getting the stain out of the skirt before getting rid of it. You never know. My dh likes that Oxyclean powder.
Good for you eating healthfully. I say all in moderation. I was a vegan not for health reasons but because of my love for animals. But I have to say the thought of eating meat makes me ill. Animal flesh. Blech. But I don't judge and to each his own. I also have a sweet tooth so I get your struggle believe me. Going Cold turkey helped initially and now I can enjoy some sweets without lapsing back into my sweet addiction if you will.

Hey there Scandi! Loving the photos.

Hello girls!

I feel like the walls should be whiter. And a second coat really did not help much. You have to squint to see where there are two coats as compared to one. So have tried another stain today. A bit worried that it is too much like paint, and that the “cracks” in the logs will not look nice. But we shall se. Now I’m counting on the wall behind the closet in the guest room not to yell at me… I sure deserve it for leaving it half stained like that.

Austina, Oh yes! Please come on over! I have a lot of brushes, so you can have your very own! I like the result of painting, but it gets a bit boring after a while, I’m not very patient as a person… Hope you got home safe and sound.

Pierrebear, the paint really is a stain. Just sounded silly to say that I was staining the walls.. like I was throwing coffee at them or something… LOL. I love sweets too, so I just throw them out. So far, I have never been desperate enough to dive into the trash, so that works for me :-)

I’m very exited to see how the new stain will look once it dries. The other one was a lot whiter at first also. Looks like it disappeared into the wood. Which is good for the wood, I guess. But not for my wallet if we have to pay someone to stain/pain all walls three or four times…

Springerspaniel, I know, puppies are just the cutest! I’ll take pictures for sure!

Will be difficult to select a puppy though. We have second choice amongst the male puppies. I’m a bit worried about your dog… not understanding English and all… being an English Springer Spaniel… perhaps cheese in its ears?? I know my girl might have that sometimes... at least she looks back at me when I’m yelling, throws her head – presumably to shake out the cheese and hear what I’m yelling – and continues to run. So I know that the cheese must be hard to get out… perhaps your girl has the same problems Springerspaniel… LOL

Marcy, well you make me laugh a lot too, so I’m happy to return the favour every once in a while! But come on girl! Please *please* stop talking about grilled cheese… !! There are just no words to describe your flowers! But heck, I’ll try. They are gorgeous!!

Missy, please tell Greg from F that she wants a window seat too! She told me to tell you to tell him. Preferably a bit wider and with a nice large pillow. And perhaps a fake fur. White. To match her new red collar. Pickytarian just kills me! I’m really happy that the dealer will set up the bike for you! Should ensure a good fit! Oh I do look forward to pictures from trips on that! Perhaps he can pedal it to you??? Or perhaps Greg would like some proper exercise?? Come to think of it, please don’t tell him I said that. Or he might arrange for me to pedal it to you… LOL

Back to the beginning – stain colours. Do you like the first one or do you too think it should be a bit whiter to better fit with the window colour (a ochre kind of yellow)?

Hugs!

PS: Missy: my evil plan is almost completed!

Springerspaniel, our babies might be related ;-)

20150724_204645.jpg

Scandi!:lol::lol: I love you sweetheart. You always make me laugh and just put me in a better frame of mind. Always. It's a gift!
I will have Greg get started on that project for F. And as far as pedaling goes well it is all highway from that specialty bike shop to the beach house and quite a lot of miles too. I'll let greg know he needs to get ready for that trip too. :lol-2:

I think I prefer the more white stain based on what you shared about your overall aesthetic which coincidentally matches mine. :appl:
Could you share the 2 choices side by side for a better evaluation?

Awww sweet F looks so beautiful as always.

Carry on please. More photos as they're available. :halo:

And as far as your "evil" plan I await with dread...Bwahaha :lol:JK...I think. ;)

Missy, re evil plan: Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha..... you shall see.... soon....
Will take new picture tomorrow morning when the stain is dry and post side-by-side for comparison then.

Please tell me to calm down... Apparently, the plumber has made the hole in the floor for the WC at the wrong place.. so the WC can not stand where the hole is. Because there is just not enough room between the wall and the hole. But hey! Can't we just have a plastic thing/pipe between the WC and the hole??? :angryfire::angryfire::angryfire::angryfire::wall::wall:

Oh no,:blackeye::wall::nono: what a careless mistake! But please don't get too upset honey. The plumber and contractor are going to fix it and it will be good as new. These things happen as you know during construction. Oh my goodness I could share stories about when we were gut renovating this apartment in 2003. What a mess. But ultimately everything that went wrong got fixed and looked great. It is going to be A-OK Scandi!!!! Hang in there and don't stress yourself unnecessarily sweetie. (((HUGS))).

Oh dear Scandi, what a pain! It's fixable, (hopefully), so try not to stress too much (says she who goes ballistic at incompetence )

We are in the lounge at Austin, flight will board in 2 hrs, so having a drink and some lovely spicy edamame bean dip!

I'll see you all on the other side, take care :wavey:

I'm sorry Scandi! How stressful and upsetting. I'm sure it can be fixed somehow, try not to worry and hang in there!

Austina, wishing you a smooth and comfortable flight home!

Hi NIRDIs! :wavey: OMG I miss you guys.

I've been MIA for a few reasons...car accident about a month ago, dump truck made an illegal turn and basically crushed into me :/ Finally decided today I think I'm going to hire an attorney so they can deal with the insurance companies. :/ Then we went away for a couple of weeks. We had a great time, and I am so grateful for that, especially because I was super anxious about leaving the kitties even though we have a pet sitter come by twice a day. It was almost as if as the day to leave was approaching both of us were realizing we were going away for kind of a long time. But we really did have a nice time. We did have a problem with the car rental agency and we're in the middle of dealing with that, they are saying we damaged the car and charged us for it. :/ We have the credit card insurance working on it but I will be nervous until it gets resolved. Then at at our home airport our camera got stolen along with almost every single picture from our vacation. And one of our phones which also had pictures. :blackeye: We have reported it to every single entity we can think of but we're starting to wrap our minds around that we may never get those pictures or camera back.

I think those were the major things even though I feel like I'm forgetting something.

Anyway - I hope you guys and all the fur babies are OK. I see some new names here hello everyone :wavey:

Hope to be back soon.

Hugs.

Hi everyone -

Missy, I'm so glad you've made some progress with the ferals - trapping six of them is great. I do feel for the sweet ferals, it is a tough life but you and Greg do make it easier for them. Lol to the kitties taking your place in bed, they look so sweet and comfy. The trike looks really nice! And the food…I got so hungry just looking at the pics, everything looks so delicious. Love the cat seat, Greg did a great job and it's definitely a hit with the kitties. Love the bling pics too, Bea is such a stunner. Your new sunglasses look fabulous!

CJ, oh no, I am so sorry about the accident, it must have been such a scary experience. It sounds like your weren't hurt though, right? Sorry about the insurance issues and it might be a good idea to hire someone to sort through it all. I'm very glad you had a great trip - although it's such a shame about the camera and the rental car :( It's so great to hear from you and try not to worry about the insurance stuff, things will get worked out!

Calliecake, it would be so great if you moved to North or South Carolina! The husbands could go golfing and we could go shopping lol. We could have a lot of fun getting together.

Marcy, I'm glad your astronomy meeting went well. Going out to eat with your sister and her husband sounds like fun. Good for you for taking a break from your employees. Your flower pics are gorgeous!

Scandi, I like the second pic you posted of the wall - I see some of the wood showing through…but I get that you don't want it to look too much like paint. I think white would look really nice with the ochre window trim. Looking forward to seeing your comparison pics! Your furbaby is SO sweet.

Pierrebear, glad you enjoyed your dinner at the vegan restaurant and the ice cream sounds yummy! Sorry about your skirt, I hate when I discover random stains on clothes! I have luck sometimes with the spray-on stain removers - spray and then let it sit for a while before washing. And I have you beat…I just polished off some M and M's left over from Christmas! Now that's bad!

Not much new with me - had a nice weekend, spent Father's Day with dh and the kids - very relaxing day, ordered take-out and watched the US Open, dh said it was a great Father's Day lol.

Take care everyone, will check back soon!

Hi NIRDIs!

Missy, thank you for the comments about my flowers. I believe the results so far are due to Miracle Grow and the green house I bought them from. I think a window seat for a person would totally have to be built in like a serious bay window but it sounds cool! We have a recliner in our den that I think Marty should just move the room around so the chair looks faces looking out the window. How I used to do my egg and cheese sandwich is cook a broken yolk egg, then put it in the buttered bread with cheese and then grill it. Sometimes I’d stick in some Canadian bacon too. Usually though it was just grilled cheese. LOL to tricking.

SpringerSpaniel, most of the flowers I picked up were geraniums, pansies, petunias, double petunias and daisies. As they are blooming I noticed I sure picked the same colors.

PierreBear, darn for finding a stain on your skirt this morning. I had a peach from a piece of pie fall on my pants one time and that strain never came out; just a perfect little slice of peach on my leg. I like your ideas for what NIRDI stands for; those are great. My flowers are looking better this summer than they have in years; but I am faithfully going out there and picking off dead flowers and I know that encourages more flowers to bloom. We had a pretty cool May so yes I’d say it is just finally warming up. It’s actually still green on the prairies around here. Sorry it’s so hot and dry there.

Scandi, your painting is looking good. OMG your “cheese” story of your furbaby had me in stitches. That is so awesome and I can picture the entire thing happening. Okay - for supper it was like old times. I actually cooked; I made homemade tacos and Marty ate the same thing I did. I did follow up with one of those mini magnum ice cream bars which I figured was my reward for doing dishes. I think I’d prefer whiter paint too but I’ll wait until you post some side by side pictures. Oh no; I can’t believe the plumber made such a huge mistake. I hope they fix it for you soon. Grr.

Austina, safe travels home.

Junebug, I am delighted you had a nice and relaxing weekend. I know our golf course was busy on Father’s Day. Thank you for the comments about my flowers.

CJ, I am glad you had a nice time on your trip but holy crap to the accident, car rental issues and having your camera and phone stolen. Did you get hurt? Are you okay? The day we met Dee Jay and CB for lunch in Mesa our car rental company tried to say we hit a lady in a parking lot in California. Marty told them to check the mileage we put on the car and compute the distance to California and back - we never heard from them again.

Marty was on a conference call when I got home so I made tacos for us for supper. I feel like I’m out of practice cooking supper. I was very wasteful too - I pulled out paper bowls to put everything in for the tacos. I put everything on a piece of freezer paper too; easy cleanup and fewer dishes. Ha!

It was pretty cloudy and I noticed all of a sudden it was raining; then the sun came out so I checked out back and we had a gorgeous double rainbow. Sweet!

Tomorrow is free lunch day at work. One of the local car dealers comes out every summer and cooks burgers for us; they have chips, drinks and packages of cookies. I’ll take a free lunch.

Have a great day.
Marcy
