Now I really did it :((

Hi NIRDI’s! I am so far behind.

Missy, your shoes do go with everything and even better they are comfortable. You are sure getting in a lot of cycling. Nice. Beautiful sunrise photo. What a relief you are all done with the dentist for now. That was very decent of them to get you in while you are there on vacation. I hope your gum is feeling better. I chuckled at you being a hugger. I only mind being hugged or give hugs to people I really like - all of you ladies would get a hug from me. I did have a busy week at work - catching up from being out last week and then training with another department. It made the week fly by for me. Great pictures of the heron, swans and another glorious sunrise. My niece-in-law made that Killer Rabbit - I am giving it to Marty for our anniversary. She is very talented with it.

Scandi, great dresses; sorry you got caught in the rain. I probably won’t ever forget my DG bag; it was so stinky. I have a copy Hello Kitty coin purse he got me on one the trips to Hong Kong and I still use it. It probably cost about 35 cents. He got me some nice pearls over there too. I should dig them out and wear them sometime. They copy watches they got were okay but one of the “Rolax” (ha ha) turned the guy’s wrist green. I think Marty’s gut was telling him that job wasn’t for him too; but it is odd how it turned out. I think it is more miscommunication than anything.

Sharon, I am glad your sister didn’t have lupus. I hear you on the “I owe, I owe” song. I sing that often myself.

Austina, it does always seem to work out on jobs. It sounds like Colin lucked out not going with that company as well. Our guys do seem to land on their feet. The fire is spreading. So far it looks like the cabin my parents had is not in the burn area but most of that community has burned. They were dumping flame retardant on all the structures so they still say only one home and a few out buildings are lost. I went to lunch both Wednesday and Thursday with different friends and both times they picked a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant to meet at. One day I had a peach margarita, a soft shell taco and a cheese enchilada. The other day I had 2 crispy tacos. This place has the best home made flour tortilla chips. We often fill up on them. Your lemon cake and and carrot cake cupcakes sounds awesome. Have a fun and safe trip.

Junebug, Marty hasn’t said anything about that job since he got home but he tends to keep things to himself. I know he felt pretty bad about what happened. The 2 buckets of pink petunias are really doing good this week. The heat and miracle group kicked them in to a growth spurt. Glad you found a dress and bolero for this weekend; enjoy the wedding. I always seem to shop at the last minute and have a hard time finding something I like. I think having your other dress tweaked is a great idea; it is a very pretty dress.

Tekate, I hope the specialists gets you feeling way better soon. That really stinks about maybe having an infection and needing to have everything removed. My mouth keeps hurting for you. I needed to have one tooth pulled and I’ve never got an implant and now I don’t think I’d do it. Your grandniece is adorable.

I worked late a few times this week, bought supper on the way home and then worked on the program for our astronomy meeting. It was fun and we colored. Actually we used markers to build a chart plotting the temperature and brightness of the 25 nearest stars and the 25 brightest stars but it was fun.

We usually go eat after the meeting with friends so I only ate a few crackers with PB on them for supper. Sadly we didn’t go eat and now I’m really hungry. It’s almost 11 though so I’d best get to bed.

Have a fabulous weekend.
Marcy

Good morning girls!

@marcy oops my reading comprehension sort of sucks lately. Sorry about that. Your niece in law did a wonderful job with her creation and I know Marty will love it. Hope one day we can hug each other in person because you are one lady I want to hug hard. I am glad the week went well for you and went by quickly too. It's the weekend woohoo.:appl:

I am sorry about Marty and the miscommunication about his job and that he is disappointed. That is not a fun feeling. Sending him lots of virtual hugs and good thoughts and I know he will find the right opportunity though it is taking a bit of time. As you wrote it usually works out in the end. Fingers crossed for you guys.

Glad you enjoyed working on the program for our astronomy meeting. Sounds like fun. I am sorry you missed dinner though and I hate going to be hungry. It makes me hangry. Hope you enjoy a delicious and hearty breakfast this morning to make up for it.

@Tekate thinking of you and hoping you are feeling relief from the pain now that the implant is gone. More hugs and healing vibes. XO.

Shot from yesterday's cycling adventures. Look at that glowy hazy sun. Excuse me but I am sharing it from my IG because my phone with the photo is downstairs right now and I am too lazy to get it haha.

@missy no invite' to the Bat Mitzvah.. no no no.. the ex husband is Jewish and my nephew's wife converted when she married the first husband and she had 2 daughters with him, now the little one our Neve is my nephew's daughter and she is named after my sister Gen.. her name is Genevieve! they call her Neve (I liked ViVi but no one asked me ;-) ) The ex husband didn't even want to invite my niece Kate or my brother in law - he thinks we are all low class (and maybe we are!.. white trash was the word he used).. now he is worth over 500 million dollars so I guess we look trashy to him! So the Bat Mitzvah was not for my grandniece but for her 1/2 sister :) ..I have no part in Neve's sister's lives except to send them presents or Tshirts, the older two girls also have a sister and brother and another on the way with their Dad and step mom.. all so convoluted, the last time I saw the big girls was at my sister's funeral in late 16, they go between Dad in Manhattan and mom in Brooklyn. The older sisters are wonderful to Neve.. no complaints, beautiful family except for the rich guy but money does not bring class. (divorce is so messy with kids).

xo

OMG your grandniece is precious.:kiss2: Thank you for sharing the photos. The Bat Mitzvah looked like you all had so much fun.:appl:
And thank you Kate. We are also very lucky you are here sharing with us. And please never apologize for not keeping up or responding etc. We are just glad you are here. (((Hugs))).

@NIRDIs! feeling a teeny less pain but it does take time to heal!

I am going to a 50th high school reunion in upstate NY - i'm standing in for my sister, it was her grade and she had many friends tons actually in this class - in 9th grade our mom moved us individually from public school back to Catholic school, so my sister isn't a member of the class per se but she did do 5th - 8th with all these people and they invited me.. my sister was so popular!

Be back on Monday..

I wish everyone a wonderful, happy weekend.. you guys are in my heart!

kate

@junebug17 thank you June! it was crazy times in the 70s.. Happy BIRTHDAY dear lady (girl, chick!) may tomorrow shine brightly and you have a wonderful day..

all my best to you June!

Kate

Happy birthday tomorrow June!
Out and about today. No proper internet and no electricity at all. These pictures explain why LOL

Hello lovelies

Oh noooooo @Tekate , poor you, you’re having such an awful time with the implants. I really hope now it’s out, you’ll finally be pain free and able to heal without further complications.

Enjoy the reunion, how nice to be invited, your sister was obviously much loved.

Step families get very complicated, and the ex husband sounds like a real charmer!

Glad the week went by quickly @marcy and your Mexican food sounds delish! I could be tempted by a peach margarita :mrgreen2: Everything crossed that the perfect job comes along for Marty. To the ‘Fauxlex’ turning someone’s wrist green. Any weekend plans?

The killer rabbit looks fearsome :lol-2:

Hi @Scandinavian enjoy the great outdoors and kiss those lovely spotty schnozzles

So glad you found a great outfit for the wedding @junebug17 have fun, and have a blingtastic birthday! 21 again ;)2 :D

Beautiful photos @missy sounds like you were whizzing along yesterday on the ride. You can hug away when we meet, we certainly don’t mind at all  Have a great weekend.

We had an awful journey up here yesterday, took nearly twice as long as it should’ve, the traffic was horrendous. We arrived just in time to dump our stuff, feed Dottie, then head off to the campsite to meet the others for fish & chips.

We were zonko when we got back, so headed straight for bed.

We spent the morning at the site, where there was a fun dog show and competitions. I entered Dottie in the veteran and rescue categories, she didn’t win but got a rosette. We also went in to the musical sit game and the ‘leave it’ game. It was worth it to see her not only grab the sausage in front of her, but grab the sausage from the pup sitting next to her. All the proceeds from the Spinfest go to Rescue & Rehome.

We came back for lunch and a rest, and we’ll head back at 5 for the BBQ and quiz.

Have a lovely weekend :wavey:

HI:

Austina: all I could think about Norfolk was Henry the 8th. LOL Good for you on camping--you are brave!:P2

So much on waxing loquacious about work--I am tired!! Don't know I used to do it--working FT that is.

Gotta get a hair cut today. Thinking about omitting the lites and just going grey--but that would be a bit of a leap for me. I "think" I need a bit of blonde--and so does my DH! LOL He always asks where the blonde gal is..... And I need to get a prime rib for Sunday supper aka Fathers Day.

JuneB--hope your BD is good and you have some fun stuff planned.:appl:

Nice photo's Missy. Good on your cycling! None for us--our weather is pants. I'll traipse the mall instead.:))

Shout out to NIRDIs.:wavey:

cheers--Sharon

Hi NIRDI’s!

Missy, no worries on who made the killer rabbit; how can anyone remember everything I blather on about? Ha Ha. I am anxious to give it to Marty but our anniversary isn’t until the 29th. Thank you for the good wishes for Marty. He’s a smart guy and does figure things out. I ate rather weird today too. I didn’t get up in time to eat breakfast at home and had a donut and juice when I went out. My sister and I split a tour of Italy at Olive garden for lunch with a salad then I had chips and salsa for supper. Tomorrow I’ll eat better. I swear. How are you doing with eating less fish? I’ve been meaning to ask but forget. Yes, I would definitely give you a big hug when we meet. Beautiful sunrise pictures. Great birthday poem for Junebug.

Junebug, Happy Birthday tomorrow. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and a nice time at the wedding.

Tekate, sorry you don’t get to see those girls but I think it’s good to you let them know you are there for them by sending them some gifts. Money doesn’t by class. I am glad your pain is slightly less, I hope that continues. That is nice you were invited to your sister’s class reunion. I hope you’ll share some many good memories with her friends; Hugs to you too because I am sure it will be an emotional weekend as well.

Scandi, great picture of the fur babies and gorgeous view.

Austina, Fauxlex is a good name for copy watches. LOL. I plan on being pretty lazy this weekend. We could have hail so I’d rather keep my car in the garage. That Killer Rabbit does look fierce. I am sure Marty will love it. It sounds like you are having a great time at the Spinfest. Sorry to hear the traffic was so bad.

Sharon, a prime rib roast sounds quite delicious. Enjoy.

Marty met a client at 7 am so I got up after he left and got around. I went down and had coffee with my dad’s buddies. Most of them have cabins in the area where the fire is burning so i wanted to see if they’d heard anything on their places. I knew more about the fire and damage than they did since most of them don’t use Facebook or the internet. I gave them the number to call to make sure that county has their contact information.

I stopped at the grocery store on the way home and luckily Marty was pulling in the garage right after I shut my car off. He can pack in all the groceries in one trip. Show off!

We headed back out to run some flowers to the cemetery and get gas in the car. My sister sent me a text they were about 70 miles north of here so we met them for lunch after running our errands. They had a nice time in Yellowstone.

This afternoon I have been goofing off but decided to start laundry a few minutes ago.
We had a serious rain storm roll through here - I saw on FB they had rain on the area of the fire too. I hope that helps put out the fire.

Take care.
Marcy

Hi Nirdis!

Missy, thank you so much for the beautiful birthday poem! Such lovely sentiments, I really appreciate all of your sweet words!

Great news about being finished with the dentist, and I'm so glad the staff did all they could to get you in during the 2 weeks. Love your pics of the heron and swans, it's so cool to see such beautiful animals in person. It's great you have been having good weather at the beach and have been able to get a lot of cycling in.

Tekate, I am so very sorry, when I posted I didn't realize you were taking the place of the sister you lost, I misunderstood and I feel terrible...I hope you had a nice time at the reunion and that being around people who knew and cared about your sister brought you comfort and peace. (((Hugs)))

Your grand-niece is adorable! It's a shame you don't have contact with the girls, but it's so nice you send them gifts and make an effort to keep in touch. Family relationships can get complicated, that's for sure. Thank you for good thoughts for my birthday, you are so sweet. I hope your pain is tolerable and you're feeling ok.

Austina, oh no to being stuck in so much traffic, I hate that! Sounds like you are all having a lot of fun. This Spinfest certainly has some good activities planned. I appreciate your birthday wishes, and lol to being 21...again! At this point I'd happily take 41...or even 51 :cool2:

Sharon, I hope you like how your hair turned out! I hear you on thinking about trying something new, it's always a little nerve-wracking to step out of the box. I know you will look great either way. Hope you are getting some rest after your busy week. Thanks for the birthday wishes.

Marcy, I'm glad you've decided to be lazy this weekend, after such a busy week at work you deserve it. You definitely had a few yummy lunches this past week, made me hungry! I'm glad your astronomy meeting went well, that activity does sound like fun. Nice that you were able to meet up with your sister for lunch. I can't get over what a great job your niece in law did on the killer rabbit, she is so talented and I can't wait for you to give it to Marty. Thanks for the birthday thoughts.

So sorry to hear about the fires, very scary and I hope the rain helps put them out.

Scandi, oh wow, what gorgeous scenery! You are so lucky to be in such a beautiful place. And your furbabies are so sweet. Thanks for the good thoughts for my birthday!

The wedding yesterday was lovely, it was an outdoor ceremony and the weather was perfect. The venue was really pretty and the food was delicious...and of course I ate too much! I was stuffed after the cocktail hour lol. I got to spend some time with a few people I hadn't seen in a while, so that was fun.

Thank you again to everyone for the birthday wishes! Yesterday was pretty hectic so I plan on doing a whole lot of nothing today lol. Dh and I will watch the US Open and take a walk, and that's about it.

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday! Xox

HI:

JuneB--my haircut was a bit of a bomb; I specifically asked him to keep the length and he promptly cut 3 inches off. Can't recall the last time my hair was this short!!! He even cut my swoopy long bang!:confused2: Luckily my hair grows quickly!!! And I did hi-lite it again--it mixes well with the grey:P2

cheers--Sharon

I found a little surprise on my bike today....Electra.png

Hi NIRDI’s!

Junebug, Happy Birthday! I am glad you enjoyed the wedding, the weather sounds perfect for an outdoor wedding, the food was delicious and it’s always nice to catch up with people you haven’t seen for a while. I am glad you are taking it easy today.

Sharon, darn that they cut your hair off in spite of what you asked for; I hate when those hair stylists don’t listen. At least a hair cut is never permanent. Your surprise is quite cute, is that a horn?

I slept in today. Such a treat. I made myself a traditional breakfast (bacon, egg, potatoes and English muffin). It was quite tasty. Marty played golf so I had cheese and crackers for lunch and will make tacos for us shortly.

I rented 2 movies today - Hurricane Heist and Death Wish. They weren’t great but they entertained me. Hurricane Heist is exactly what you’d expect and Death Wish is Bruce Willis who becomes a vigilante after his wife is murdered and his daughter is badly injured from a home invasion.
The rain overnight and today and helped out with that fire. I was reading about what the home owners will face cleaning the fire retardant off everything. You can’t use a power wash because it pushes the chemicals in further. You have to scrub it with soapy water by hand and any puddles that get on the ground needs to be covered up with sand or dirt. It sounds like they all have a major chore ahead of them.

Take care.
Marcy

To Junebug,

Here we are joining you on the beach for your birthday. I think we are off to the side looking at someone's pretty diamond. :D

A-L.jpg

HI:

@marcy, yes it is a bell. Most women get pink sapphires but my DH buys me pink bells. Truth is I LOVE IT! :mrgreen2: Best thing of all, it was a complete surprise. It was like, :mrgreen2:taaa daaa!

cheers--Sharon

Good evening ladies!

@junie hope you are continuing to have a wonderful birthday weekend. Glad the wedding went so well and that everyone enjoyed themselves. Love happy occasions. They are worth celebrating. More birthday (((hugs))).

@Tekate How are you feeling? How was your sister's 50th reunion? I am sure everyone was thrilled you attended in your sister's honor and love you too. How could they not. Hoping your weekend is going well and that you are feeling much better.
Aww that is too bad about your ex husband being such a fool and a not a very nice person to boot but you do what you can and you cannot control other people's behavior. People can suck and often do and it's their loss. (((Hugs))).

@Austina ugh sorry the trip there was less than stellar but so happy you are all having a good time now and that the dog show was a success and the proceeds went to a good cause.:appl:And yes big hugs will be coming.

@marcy love that card, it's perfect. Yay for sleeping in this morning.
And just so you know I am having trouble remembering anything so it is definitely not related to you or the content I promise. I always love your posts.
I am doing OK with what I am eating. Thanks for asking.
I agree, Marty will not only land on his feet but he will do very well. How can he not with you by his side. Hugs to you both.
Oh well, at least the movies you rented were entertaining if not Oscar contenders lol.

@canuk-gal glad your hair grows fast. What was your hairdresser thinking after you were so clear in your instructions.::)
Love your kitty surprise.:kiss2: Pink kitty bell is bella bella.
Sorry your weather has been pants but shopping at the mall is fun too for a change. Did you find anything good there?

@Scandinavian awww love the photos. So excited for you to be almost finally done done done with that reno. Please share pics galore.

It was a very busy day. Cycling and shopping. Tomorrow we are heading back to NYC. Have a good evening ladies and a very happy Father's Day to all the dads in your life. Hope the day was filled with love and fun.:wavey:

Sharon, I can see why you love your pink bell. It's very cute - a totally cool cat.

Missy, I am glad you are doing okay with what you are eating. I am sure it will be a lengthy process figuring that out. I often don't like the highly rated Oscar movies - not always but certainly sometimes. I generally watch movies to be entertained and they both worked for that. I am glad you had a nice day cycling. Darn that you have to go back to the city tomorrow. I am not looking forward to returning to work tomorrow. But we do what we must.

Hello lovelies

So glad you enjoyed your birthday @junebug17 and the wedding went well. How great to catch up with people you hadn’t see for a while, that’s often the case with weddings.

Camping??? :-o Not us @canuk-gal  We’ve rented a lovely modern barn conversion, we like our home comforts too much to ‘rough it’. Cute bell, but on reflection, I think I’d rather have pink sapphires ;)2 Arrgghhh, what is it with stylists who think they know what you want. Like you, my hair grows like grass, so any time I don’t like the cut, it’s not long before it’s grown out.

 To sleeping in and having a ‘full English’, yum, we also had bacon and eggs yesterday @marcy it’s our Sunday breakfast, the rest of the week ww have cereal and fruit.

Safe travels back to the city @missy hope your traffic isn’t too bad. You’ll miss being at the beach and cycling everyday.

We had a busy day yesterday, we took all the dogs to the beach, and they had a riotous time. Dottie enjoyed splashing about then standing and watching all the others frolicking and swimming.

We came back for lunch, then I had to make up the pizzas for the get together. Lots of lovely food and good company, we were all zonked when we got home - Dottie still is

Not sure what we’re doing today, but we’re heading off soon.

Have a great day :wavey:

Happy birthday dear June!!

Austina, LOVE seeing the dog romp.

Sending love to all. Jet lagged and no wifi at home, so, writing from the library before heading home to nap. I am now babysitting my dd’s elderly, picky cat, and giant rabbit. I will be asking you cat lovers for advice.
Bought Mildred a ring at the Tiffany airport store before heading back. I didn't see the extra hallamrk until I got home, and am hoping it means it was made in France, or at least hallmarked by the french govt (probably more likely). Makes it a better souvenir that way, but in any event, it seems to be the best match yet for mildred’s current setting, so I’m happy with it.

Hi NIRID’s!

Austina, Dottie is so cute playing with all of her friends. She’ll be reliving that in her dreams for days! It sounds like you had a nice time. I eat cereal and fruit for breakfast most of the time too. A big breakfast is a nice treat on the weekend but I miss my cereal.

Jimmianne, welcome home. I am sure you’ll be suffering from jet lag for a few days. Great band to go with Mildred. It looks comfortable. Rest up!

Not much exciting going on here. That fire is 85% contained after the rain and humidity that came with it this weekend.

Work was busy and I didn’t yell or smack anyone. Kudos for me.

Take care.
Marcy

Hi girls!

Missy, hope you had a great day yesterday, and the ride back to the city went smoothly today and everyone is settling in and adjusting to being back in the Big Apple.

Sharon, on no to the hairdresser going too short, that has happened to me too. Love the bell from your dh, so sweet of him!

Marcy, yay for sleeping in. Nice you found some movies to watch that were entertaining. I feel so badly for homeowners who have to deal with the clean-up from the fires. Glad to hear the rain helped control them. It would be so fun if the nirdis really could hang out on the beach in those chairs! Thank you for posting that pretty pic. I'm glad work wasn't too painful for you and I hope the rest of the week goes the same way.

Austina, love the pics of the doggies having fun on the beach! This Spinfest sounds like so much fun, glad you're having a great time.

Jimmianne, welcome back! I really love your new band! Looks so pretty with Mildred. Now that's my idea of a souvenir lol  Hope you get some rest and are over your jetlag soon.

Not much going on here - just catching up on laundry and doing some cleaning. Hope my heart can take all this excitement haha!

Have a lovely day tomorrow everyone!

GM Girls! It's a hot sticky Tuesday and I feel like I am in a Tennessee Williams play. 8-)

@junebug17 haha I like that kind of excitement. May your week bring drama free days and comfortable nights and may all your errands and chores be seamless and pleasant to do.
How is sweet Zoe doing?

@Austina love that beach photos :kiss2: and so pleased you are all enjoying yourselves.

@marcy haha yes kudos to you indeed for not smacking any of your coworkers. Way to show self control girlfriend. Proud of you. So relieved the fire is almost all controlled. What a nightmare for all those affected. Hope the rest of your workweek is painless and I agree with you. We do what we must and manage (most of the time) to do pretty well.

@Jimmianne welcome back to the USA. I know all your fur babies are ecstatic to have you home. My good friend had to leave her cat quarantined I think for 6 months when they went to live abroad. So she stayed with the cat for those 6 months during the entire quarantine period while her dh was in France (I believe it was Paris and she had to stay in London while the cat was going through the quarantine period). They (she and her dh) visited each other on weekends. That was decades ago so I might have gotten the details wrong of which countries were involved but that is what I remember. Anyway I know everyone furry and human are very pleased you are back at least for a while. Nice going on the ring too.

@CJ2008 looking forward to catching up with you. XO. Hugs to Mousey.

We had a good trip back and no traffic till we hit NYC. It's funny I always loathe leaving either place to come to the other but when we arrive where we are going I am always so happy (usually) to be there. Happy to be in NY despite the heat wave temps and no central AC here. That I miss when the temps are climbing. I even ran an errand when we got back yesterday that involved walking in this heat (OK OK only a block haha) and it wasn't too bad. And I didn't feel weird using my parasol here in NY. No one gives you a second glance. Well maybe some people but I like to think it was the adorable sundress I was wearing and that's the story I am sticking to.:P2

Leaving you with a few pics. Yesterday before we left Greg worked on the canopy sides for more complete sun protection for me. Looking good.
bikecanopyside.jpg bikecanopyside.jpeg

A selfie as we were cycling the day before.
cyclingbayshoretrailjune2018.jpg
and my photography of Greg as he is cycling haha. He doesn't have a bad side so any photo back or front of my dh works for me.:halo:

and with permission a photo from the early 90s of Greg with our friend the dentist who did all my amalgam removal and our friend R who is still a bit of a wild child.

Thanks for letting me share and hope you enjoyed the photos.
Have a lovely day girls and stay cool and calm and enjoy this last Tuesday before summer.8-):wavey:

@Tekate thinking of you and hoping you’re feeling so much better. (((Hugs))).

Good «morning» girls!

Austina, Thank you! The great outdoors was… GREAT! LOL. You girls know I love mountains… hihi. The furbabies were crazy, just so happy to be “in the wild” again, even if they do have to be on a leash until after the holidays. Poor little birds must be allowed to nest in peace. But my poor fingers! I thought they would pull them right off! LOL. Such energy levels! LOVED loved loved your beach + Dottie pictures. Like your version of camping!

June, hoping for pictures..? Of dress, hair and wedding. Not asking for much, surely… But darling! You can’t count very well! You’re 19 !!! We all are !!! And thank you for liking my furbabies! They really are my babies and my world. As you probably didn’t know that. LOL. Food is half the fun when it is good and you don’t have to make it!

Talking about food. We had some “new” friends over last Saturday (not this weekend but the one before). So nice and fun! Always a bit scary with “new” people, just in case you can’t find anything fun to talk about. Or they don’t like the food, LOL. I kind of “found” this girl at a work event, because our husbands are kind of colleagues. But she would probably tell you that it was she that found me, lol. We clicked at the first appetiser over how we both had to learn to change tires on the car before we were allowed to buy our own car. To the point. We had a fantastic evening, eating and talking and laughing. And you know I love them when they brought a house gift, champagne, *and* flowers! That really was too sweet! And yes. I eat too much! LOL.

Marcy, thank you, It is not the highest of “our” mountains, but I do love it there! So peaceful! Really good of you to go have coffee with your father’s friends! But your day sounds exhausting! Only doing good things… LOL. Tacos sounds yummy. Makes me hungry! LOL to looking at diamonds thus missing in the picture! Good one!

Tekate, your family sounds a bit complicated… LOL. Sorry. I have a bad sense of humour… Hope you are feeling better today!

Missy, I’ll do my best (well, close..?) to get some pictures for you soon! And yes, the house is ready for your inspection! Talking about such things, i.e. seeing you soon, or at least semi soon, I’ll send you an email. But we’ll stop by NYC next summers, so it would be great to see you then! So we need to do a bit of planning :-) Don’t tease, girl! Busy day of shopping??? It is back to its cold self here in the north again. Had to take a jacket *and* my big cashmere wrap/scarf to survive the morning. Brrrrrr… Feel like the movie Frozen. Suddenly you turn around and its icy cold in a second. No snow here though. That would be a novelty in mid-June, even here… LOL.

Jimmianne, love how you bought Mildred a ring! Hope she said thank you ;-) Welcome “home”!

No news here. All four kids are just as happy and fab as they always are. Silly kids. LOL. School is out soon, they are very much looking forward to the holidays, at least the two without tails, as they are better at counting days than the other two... LOL.

Thank you for shoe recommendations!! I have not yet found any I like, but I struggle on... I *hate* wanting to shop and not finding anything! Makes me feel annoyed *and* a materialistic *ss at once. Not a good combination.... I will bring sneakers and Tom's and pretty sandals, so now I need a pair of walking sandals. I prefer that for the islands. How am I going to survive?? I have convinced DH that we are traveling light, only hand luggage, because that will be sooooo much easier on the ferries and getting to the hotel on the different islands. (With two children and 4 suitcases, we can't fit in a normal taxi, and I refuse to take two different cars! And in Hydra we have to carry everything, no cars on the island, so I think 4 suitcases might be a bit much for DH all by himself, LOL) But now it looks like my shoes will need a luggage of its own, doesn't it??? Hehehehehe

Hugs!

Hello lovelies

Mildred’s friend is the perfect find @Jimmianne . Hope you’re resting up and getting over the jet lag. The doggies must be thrilled to have you home.

I hope the excitement of your day doesn’t prove too much @junebug17 - I have a lot of days like that, good job I have a strong heart

Good job not clumping any of your employees @marcy - that kind of restraint deserves a medal  Thank goodness the rain has eased the fire problem, must be such a relief for everyone.

Yay to making new friends @Scandinavian, having a meal together is a good way to break the ice. Glad all the kids are doing well and looking forward to the summer break. Your travelling light sounds the way to go, we’ve often had problems getting the 2 of us and 2 cases in a taxi.

Hot & humid doesn’t sound like much fun @missy - you’ll recognise me, I’ll be the frizzy hair standing in a puddle outside OWD

I’m sure people were admiring your pretty sundress & parasol & thinking how elegant you looked.

It was beautiful here today, so we headed to another beach, it was lovely, not too crowded and dog friendly. Dottie had a whale of a time with less people and dogs around, she didn’t see a big wave coming and got soaked

Not sure what we’ll do tomorrow, hopefully another beach walk.

Leaving you with a few more pics from today

Hi NIRDI’s!

Junebug, I can’t imagine the work everyone will have to clean up their cabins and their property. They are allowing them back in there tomorrow. You are welcome for the pretty beach picture; it just looked cozy to me. I hope you got to rest up some today even though you are catching up on things.

Missy, sorry to hear it is hot and sticky there today. I needed a jacket this afternoon; we were in the 50’s after it rained. I feel bad for everyone who have a home in the burn area. It’s remote so will be challenging to get things in and out for major clean ups. I am sure everyone was noticing how pretty you looked in your sundress! No problem there. That’s great Greg worked on keeping more sun off you on the tandem bike. Good idea! Great picture of the gang.

Scandi, it sounds like your new friends will soon become good friends. It’s nice to find a couple that you both get along with and enjoy each other’s company. I love how peaceful it is in the mountains. I’ve been strolling down memory lane thinking about times at my parent’s cabin. I didn’t go up there a lot but I did enjoy it. I am sure your kids without tails are looking forward to school being out. Good idea to travel lightly; I hope you can get everything in.

Austina, some days I am amazed I don’t snap about my employees. 10 years ago I would have chewed them out and been agitated all day; now it’s like really? That’s the best you can do? Great pictures and of course i always love seeing the beach. I am sure Dottie enjoyed playing in the water even if she did get hit with a big wave.

Jimmianne, I hope you get wifi soon. Are you rested up yet?

Severe thunderstorms were predicted for our area today so I had Marty run me to work. We ended up with only pea sized hail but places in Colorado got smacked again. My sister, BIL and 2 of her sons had their cars trashed last night. They had golf ball sized hail; their windshields are smashed and the cars have a lot of dents.
I left a roast cooking in the crock pot today so dinner was easy to fix after Marty picked me up from work. Poor guy has to work most of the night tonight.
My boss's team has a meeting every day at 3 pm and I always join them. We venture off in to all sorts of weird topics and today we got on 23 and me; I said my results say I'm 78% victim so watch it. After we all had a good laugh one of them pointed out they'd believe that about one of my team members but not me. Then the same guy pointed out he wondered what percentage that same person had of being a drama queen. I haven't stopped laughing.
We have a free vendor BBQ at work tomorrow. It will be the typical burger or hot dog, chips and fruit cup but it's free.
This thread is so helpful sometimes. Marty is trying to sell his Apple Watch 2 and wanted to know how old it is; I searched for my posts and found the answer. It's my daily blog.

Take care.
Marcy

Marcy, wow that hail storm must have been amazing to go through. Glad you only got the little iceballs where you are.
I must be having the same weather as you, Missy. High 90’s and humid. Cant wait until the east coast cools off. Maybe we could send some nice « warm » weather to Marcy??

Puff had a bad blood report. I dont even understand how it could be so bad. I am hoping it’s a glitch. His blood lipid level should be around 200 and the vet said it’s almost 3000. That just sounds totally crazy. At the next appointment they will xray him. First appointment was $400. I try not to thnk about that part, but I was a bit stunned to think now another vet has access to my bank account. But it’s only money, right??
Still in jetlag and pleasantly vague. Lol
supposedly wifi tomorrow. My new habit is to drive 7 miles to macD every morning and sit outside with my drive though breakfast checking emails.
I promise eventually to be more interesting....eventually...maybe.
Hi everyone :wavey:xx
