Now I really did it :((

Hello lovelies

Good grief @canuk-gal, I can’t even begin to imagine those temps. It’s freezing here, we still have ice on the sheer wall of the pool. Be extra careful walking, it would be so easy to slip.

Thank goodness for Greg @missy, it shouldn’t be this hard to get the meds you need. Those kitties are definitely spreading the word about the food at your place  weather here is still below freezing, hopefully it’ll be warmer next week.

We stayed in today, Colin’s new office chair arrived and had to be put together - these things never line up like they should!

Keep safe and warm lovely NIRDIs

:wavey:

Happy FriYAY!!!!
GM girls from the very freezing brutally cold Jersey shore...BRRRRRRRRRRRR
Ice has taken over the bay and sand

@Austina yes warmer weather is on its way for tomorrow and Sunday and next week they are predicting 50s...let it happen!!!!
Hope Colin's home office comes together nicely

@Slickk we only got an inch or so..hope you fared well with the current storm and let's hope spring is coming soon and yay for the weekend that is almost upon us

Hey everyone else. Hope all is well. So I accomplished absolutely nothing yesterday lol. I did workout and we played cards. That was it. It was too cold to go hiking. My body cannot tolerate these temps. I keep thinking of the poor kitties outside. Makes me cry. Why is mother nature so cruel. Living beings trying to survive with these brutal conditions. UGH. Anyway warmer weather is on the way and I just hope and pray it's not too late. As for my med we will see. Until it is delivered I expect nothing because they constantly eff up. But whatever happens I will have to make it work. One day, one hour, at a time.

Today is even colder than yesterday with very ferocious winds (gusts over 50 mph and sustained winds of 30 mph) so I do not anticipate going out unless it is to hunt down the UPS guy for my med LOLOL. But no I don't think I have the energy to do that today so will probably just wait and hope he does deliver it to me.

Enjoy a wonderful FriYAY filled with YAY...be well. XOXO

Screen Shot 2025-02-21 at 6.23.36 AM.png

My UPS delivery man just delivered my med to me hours early. He wanted me to get it asap because it’s temperature controlled. I can’t believe how kind he is. He really rocks ♥️

And now I can breathe a sigh of relief. It was so challenging to get this med. Accredo put me through hell

Hi girls!
I just wanted to say hello
Can you spot the dog …? LOL
I have had a difficult couple of years since we had to say goodbye to our two fur babies (dogs). But I’m trying to make life work with our new babies to help me along the way
I miss you.

@Scandinavian. Sorry to hear that you’ve had a rough time recently. It’s good to see you back! Please stay around.

Girl, you've been missed here but I feel lucky we have kept in touch without PS. And I think I've said it before but it's worth saying again...in a world as insane as this one I value your friendship and support. And as @Garnetgirl wrote, please stick around. We all missed you here.

You are such a dear and I get how painful your losses are...the grief never ends but we are lucky we were a part of their lives no matter for how short a time. Gentle ((((((hugs))))))

HI:

@Scandinavian thank you for stopping in. I have often posted after you in the missing PS'er thread. Sorry for your furry losses. Hope you and yours are otherwise well.

cheers--Sharon

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!

Busy work week and no time to go to the gym. I love today's aquasize class but went to have my car battery exchanged instead. CHA:$$):CHING! At least they were efficient. Brought take out to my DS who worked from home.

Very busy weekend with BD celebrations for my DH--milestone year. I'll have fun and forget about the number!

The temps went from -18C to +8C. Love warm temps, but the freeze thaw is a nightmare for pipes and ice on the roads. I just need it to be 20C daily without change. A girl can dream.

Anyway, that's about it.

cheers--Sharon

GM girls! Happy Caturday Saturday!!!

@canuk-gal yay for a warm up for us all...may it last

@Austina hopefully you are enjoying more mild temps this weekend

@Slickk woohoo we are almost in March and while March comes in like a lion she leaves like a lamb..cmon lamb

@Scandinavian big hugs to your beautiful furry babies and you...and my best wishes to your lovely family and thank you for your kind words...that photo was taken during my sister's wedding. I was matron of honor. I was the one who introduced my sister to the man who would later become her DH. I worked with him at a health center and we became fast friends

@Jemi hope your winter weather is calm and all is well

@MamaBee thinking of you

@Inked THUD...that bracelet...made my heart stop for a moment..I told Greg what you said and he likes that idea lol

@marcy hope your week went well and you have a wonderful weekend

@Garnetgirl happy weekend

Hello everyone else...wishing you all a weekend filled with joy and peace

Today is a nice day and we are going hiking woohoo
Cream Soda is now a regular and she/he has a similar face to Shasta but completely different coloring
They are so beautiful.
I have not seen Sasha for a while :(
Fresca and Pepsi were eating this AM
Hopefully the warm up continues

Hi NIRDI's!

We finally had clear skies and got to try out my new mini-me astrophoto telescope last night. It works pretty well.

I've been working way too much and had to work several hours today. Boo.

Off to catch up on posts.

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy it looks like you guys got more snow than we did. We ended up with about 8". It's above freezing for a few days now so it should melt. Yay! That's nice the oncologist was apologetic about juggling your appointment. That's so annoying when they do that. I enjoyed your Valentine poem and all of you fantastic pictures. Oh no to the horrible cat fight. How upsetting. And good idea to avoid drama queens. You have had some rough months so I am glad you had a nice, peaceful day. I am glad your meds show up okay. I like the name for the feral. I used to enjoy cream soda.

@Austina it sounds like your weather has been up and down. We've been cloudy and snowy and windy - of course. Glad to hear Colin's appointment went well. Nice the Botox helped your eye.

@finerthings stay warm with that snow.

@Scandinavian I am sorry to hear about your furbabies.

@canuk-gal I saw a meme on FB of a groundhop saying "you thought I was playing ..." so true. Stay warm! That's great you still have money to spend on something from Christmas. I swear, I've bought my Christmas and birthday gifts through the next 50 years. I do like my studs that I have. Oh no to needing a new battery. Sadly, those batteries don't pay for themselves. My work repair bill was when I bent a wheel and ruined a tire on my Audi. My Macan is about out of warranty and I was wondering about the battery. It's doesn't even have 17,000 miles on it so I THINK I'll keep it past its warranty. Happy birthday to your DH. I wish we had perfect temperatures too. Sadly, neither of us live where that's going to happen.

Not much different with me. Working, lifting and being cold. We went out for breakfast this morning. I think that was the first tie in weeks I've been out of the house.

Have a great weekend.
Marcy

Hello lovelies

Hellooooo @Scandinavian, we’ve missed you. I’m so sorry to hear about the poochies, they just don’t live long enough. I hope you’re all well, I imagine the munchkins aren’t so little anymore.

@marcy, those photos are amazing. The weather has been horrible here, we could’ve stayed in England for this, in fact, it’s been warmer there than here! Thank goodness we’re above freezing today, the ice on the pool has melted and we don’t have to keep the pump on 24/7 anymore.

You must be a hardy soul @canuk-gal I just can’t imagine living in such frigid temperatures. Belated happy birthday to your DH, I hope he enjoyed his special day.

Above freezing so that’s a start @missy. It’s 37 degrees cooler than this day last year! Enjoy e careful out there.

Finally managed to get a haircut today. FT our friends tomorrow, woohoo, they’ll be here in 3 weeks, can’t wait.

Have a safe and warm weekend lovely NIRDIS

:wavey:

GM girls and happy big and small dog Sunday!!

@marcy cream soda was delish wasn't it? I used to also love Sarsaparilla soda. I don't know if that was on the market very long..those were my favorites and rootbeer too. WOW that telescope is amazing and may you enjoy many hours using it. Glad you enjoyed breakfast out yesterday. I get wanting to stay in when it is so cold out. It takes a lot of motivation on my part to go out in this weather. Thank you for all your warm support Marcy XOXO

@Austina sweet you got your haircut yesterday and wow our temps were very similar...weird. We were watching the show house hunters the other night and it was taking place in Houston which I know is quite different than Austin. Beautiful homes and the prices there were great. Under 200$ a square foot...one can live nicely in Houston if one doesn't mind the weather...LOL to England weather and staying there for the same lousy weather. I hear you...but the question is where is purrrfect and the answer is nowhere. LOL. I hope you enjoy a lovely Sunday XOXO

@Slickk happy Sunday sweet friend...enjoy a terrific day XOXO

@finerthings hope your snow is melting and warm weather is coming

Hello everyone else.

We enjoyed hiking yesterday and it was a balmy 38 degrees F LOL. Not sure of today's weather because it felt chilly when we went outside to feed the ferals but hopefully it will warm up. Tomorrow is day 6-10 of my Radiation second round fight hand and days 1-5 for my left hand. Supposed to not put any pressure on my hands afterwards for months. It's been challenging doing that these past few months but at least my left hand was usable. Now I am doing both hands so we shall see.

Yesterday morning Bobby started limping and my heart went into my throat. I called my sister who said give it time before we go to the ER. And then just as suddenly he stopped limping. NO clue what is going on but I am sure in time it will reveal itself as these things always do. I do not think it is as innocuous as arthritis. I bought same day amazon little stairs for the bed and he had to be prompted to use it but this AM he is jumping off and on the bed not using the stairs. I think the tariff might have gone into effect (not sure though) on goods from China because those stairs were expensive. More than I think they would have been before but who knows.

Hi NIRDI's!

@Austina you're had your share of cold there this year. It's warmer here today but crazy wind - again. I am getting a hair cut in a few weeks. I sure need one. I've let my hair grow longer, but I forgot how annoying it is since I have to much hair it leaks off my head a lot.

@missy good luck with your treatments tomorrow. I REALLY need to see someone about my right wrist/hand. I almost cried picking up our 12" skilled by the handle the other day. It's almost lame at times. But Marcy HATES going to the doctor. I am glad to hear Bobby quit limping.

I've been playing with my toy this morning and got some shots of the sun and closeup of a sunspot group. I did start laundry.

Have a great day and take care.
Marcy

With all due respect to your long status here, would you please consider changing your avatar? I understand your passionate feelings (and saw the deleted thread), but in all truth, it's a trigger to those of us grieving. I try very hard to remember and discuss with whomever that all grief is equal: I feel that's important in our struggles as we try to deal with stuff. Thanks, and I will abide your decision.

I am sorry it triggered you. I will change it for you.
Anyone with a heart is grieving for all the unspeakable brutal murders of innocents.
So many remain silent. It really is mind boggling

Thank you for asking respectfully

Aww Marcy, I wish we lived closer because I would go with you. I am so sorry you are dealing with this and I wish I could make things better. Search hand specialists in your area. They have special machines that are painless that can help make the correct diagnosis and then you can get the right treatment. Sending you gentle hugs and healing wishes for relief

Thanks for wishing me luck this week and for your well wishes for Bobby. He seems to be walking and jumping ok but I am waiting for the other shoe to drop...we know all too well that it will but the question is when. Bobby sends purrs and love your way

Thank you. I respect your opinions and very much appreciate your understanding.

Pretty kitty pics are always joyful.

It's kinda impossible for people to understand earth-changing loss until it (hopefully never) affects them personally. I don't harbor any ill will toward anyone, it's just difficult to express.

Thank you missy. I cannot look at any of those pictures either without feeling acute grief. Definitely a trigger.

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!

Busy busy weekend. Have been enjoying our time celebrating my DH milestone BD, making a weekend of it. Had a fun happy hours yesterday at our fav pizza place. Tonight dinner out at our favorite Steak place. I got him some balloons today--and he was surprised and LOL. Lovely and warm weekend as well. 11C now is melting our snow. Good! Took down the CT today. LOL

@marcy, I love your photos!!! But I don't love your sore wrist. Definitely get it checked out.

@missy hope your treatments go well. And glad Bobby isn't limping.

@Austina glad your pool pipes didn't freeze!

cheers--Sharon

Hello again!
Good morning from Scandinavia
As I’m typing on my phone, please forgive any or many) typos.
The weather here is simply quite crazy. Last weekend it was a tiny bit cold, with -22C and wind. This weekend, rain and +2C. So all in all I’m really grumpy. Why? Dog training related of course. LOL. Because I don’t really like to take them out for training purposes when it’s colder than -15. I worry that the lungs could suffer long term damages over time, same as for human cross skiing athletes. They run so hard so the too cold air is not properly warmed on the way to the lungs and may cause damage there, and later asthma. (Sled dogs are different because they mostly run at a slower pace, trotting).
And when it rains… I feel like I’m going to freeze my b*t off or at the very least my fingers. And then. Voila. It freezes up again and the snow is covered with a glass like surface that cuts the dogs’ legs. And the first (mock) hunting competition is in 4 days. LOL.

@missy I’m thankful too. For knowing you. Hope you might travel to my part of the world soon. Hope Bobby is ok today. We had a dog when I was a child that pretended to have a problem with her neck so my mother would hand feed her…

@marcy are your roads as bad as ours now? Ice everywhere

@canuk-gal thank you ! Hope everything is well! I bought a new-to-me car, so I expect a lot of car related expenses going forward hahaha I’ll try to post a picture if I can cover up the plates.

@Austina both munchkins and fur babies are quite big now. Daughter is 17 and son is 13. The four fur babies are English pointers totalling approximately 120kg of muscle lungs and noses LOL

Ciao!

Good morning lovely ladies! Happy how did you get here so fast marvelous Monday!

@Scandinavian thank you sweet friend...maybe one day..have to get over my flying issues. But girl, whenever you make a return visit we will once again be your tour guide but this time the Jersey shore :) And yes I would love a tour of life where you are for sure. I cannot believe how big your children are now..they were just little tykes when we met them all those years ago...so well behaved and I bet they have turned into lovely lovely young adults...albeit too fast...TY for your good wishes for our sweet Bobby...and it seems the weather is crazy all over the world not to mention human behavio XOXO

@canuk-gal aww thanks. I appreciate that. Happy milestone BD to your sweet DH...glad you had a wonderful celebration and that is a good busy. Yay for melting snow and same here. Hitting the 50s F today and maybe for much of the week. Woohoo (((hugs)))

@Slickk girl, thank you for always having my back. Love you and sending big hugs to you for a terrific week XOXO

@marcy hope your weather is thawing out and you enjoyed a lovely and fun weekend

@Austina hope you had a wonderful weekend

Good luck today with your treatments today @missy! So nice to see the Fresca and Pepsi out in the morning sun.

Snow is melting so fast these past two days and today is another mild day! No ice issues!

I'm starting to worry about our kitty as she has vomited four times in the last 3 weeks. I did introduce some new canned cat food this month, so I'm thinking it doesn't agree with her. We shall see now that I have removed it from her diet.

Happy Monday and have a splendid day everyone!

TINY BIT COLD !!!! LOLOL We get the freeze thaw here and it is brutal. On people, pets, and infrastructure. I have nightmares of bursting pipes. I could absolutely live without any cold temps, but alas that is not to be.

Love your new ride!!! Those SUV's are what we need here in the winter also.

As for your sweet kitty I am sending many healing vibes her way. Hopefully it is the food and she will be A OK!

Looks like Spring there! Safe treatment day your way!!

Feels like Spring today...56F. Just got back from a lovely hike
Thank you! So of course there is a wrinkle.
I had RT today both hands
After my session there were patients grumbling
Seems that one of their two radiation machines is broken
And they were turned away
This happened on the other machine after my treatment
So no clue what is going to happen
I am on a strict time schedule as it has already been the max time between treatments (12 weeks) any longer can render treatment ineffective
But with one machine down and only one working and cancer patients needing treatment I don't know what is going to happen
Sigh
I would hate to have undergone 7 radiation treatments (13 to go) and for it to be for naught

Hoping the machine is fixed soon and doesn't need a difficult to get part
Fingers and toes crossed

That's my upate

I hope everyone is enjoying a gorgeous Monday...definiely feels like Spring!

Sorry for the broken machines. Such a drag--hopefully a ready fix.

Spring conditions here also! 50F here also and we've not yet hit the high! Gonna got for a wlak...am a bit tired after the weekend celebrations and just out for a nice lunch.

Hello lovelies

@missy, I didn’t see the deleted thread, but the images I’ve seen over the weekend have sickened me to my core, just no words at people ‘rejoicing’ at such barbarity. :angryfire: Monsters.

I’m glad you managed to get your treatment done, and hope they get the machine fixed quickly. Yay to the kitties turning up.

Hey @Scandinavian I can’t believe the munchkins are so grown up, time certainly flies. Wow 4 poochies now, would love to see a pic when you have time, so I can get my fix! That cold is unimaginable to me, we’ve been grumbling because it’s been down to 20 deg c.

Fortunately we have spray foam insulation, so the pipes have been fine here @canuk-gal, although the houses with fibreglass have had frozen pipes I understand.

Those photos @marcy, it’s amazing you got such clear shots.

Sorry to hear your kitty has been sick @finerthings, hopefully it was the change food and all will be well now you’ve removed that.

The sun has got his hat on here! Normality has been restored and it’s 75 degrees here, yippee! Took the car to be cleaned this morning, Colin’s just doing the pool chemicals, then we’re going out for a walk.
