Now I really did it :((

Oh and did I tell you…. I managed to lock my ring in the gun locker, on purpose. And then I managed to misplace the key. Not on purpose. Have been looking for a few week now …

Good morning girls. Happy terrific Tuesday
Successful morning. Got RT. Working out now
Going hiking this afternoon

@Austina yup 100% insane. I could not believe the vitriol I was reading from a member who has 40 posts in total. She is vile. What she wrote about the Bibas family was callous and disgusting. Glad that thread was deleted. Hard to believe people like that exist. But sadly they do. Hope you enjoy a beautiful day xoxo

@Scandinavian aww so gorgeous ♥️♥️♥️
Girl sounds like something we did. All our important papers are in the safe in NYC that we can’t open lol. Have to devote a day (no clue when as time is in short supply these days) to go there and get a locksmith. Our very expired passports are there and I’d rather not start from scratch getting a new one. Much harder. Hugs and good luck getting your precious bling

@Slickk good morning! Hope you have a terrific day

@finerthings how’s your sweet kitty doing?

@canuk-gal good morning lovely friend. Have a beautiful day

Hey everyone else. Enjoy a terrific Tuesday ♥️

@missy I’m even worse than you. The locksmiths can’t open it. It’s burglar - and locksmith - safe. They suggested a diamond type of chain saw (no idea what it’s called in any language LOL)
So I’ll look for the key a few weeks longer

@missy How is your hand and what is wrong?

Today, on The View TV show, co-host Sara Haines addressed the Bibas family with grace. It will likely be on You Tube tonight.

I can't be more specific about my own thing, but thanks again for your kindness.

@missy, @Austina thank you for thinking of my kitty. She is not eating any of her regular food (smells it and walks away) but I have some Gerber chicken baby food on hand and she has eaten a couple of jars in the past 24 hours. Her behavior has not changed, and welcomed her daily brushing session today. I'm going to give her a day or two more but if her appetite doesn't restore to normal or if she vomits again she's going to the vet pronto.

@missy How is your hand and what is wrong?

I have Dupuytren's disease affecting both hands..my finger contracted and I have lots of nodules and chords. Surgery addressed the contracture but that is usually only temporary so hoping Radiation will slow the progression, There is no cure. Interestingly enough it's considered a Scandinavian disease...:)

These are the areas being treated...20 sessions total every five separated by three months

Basically they are radiating the entire palm. I am supposed to not use my hands for months and the radiation effects can take up to a year re cellular changes. I am trying my best but obviously haVe to use my hands somewhat. Just glad I had this opportunity to do RT and hopefully it will slow the progression. XO

I appreciate your kindness as well thank you
I will see if I can find the youtube piece.

Aww I am keeping her in my prayers...It's a good sign she is still taking joy in getting brushed and generally her behavior has not changed. And as long as she is eating it's not dire...I am sure you know that if cats stop eating for three days they can develop hepatic lipidosis and their liver starts failing. That's why every time our cats stopped eating for more than a day I took them to the vet. It's so scary because cats are stubborn and will starve themselves to death. May your sweet kitty start eating her regular food very soon ((((hugs))))

And fwiw it's very mild out there. Just got back home from hiking and OMG very mild indeed. Spring is in the air! Finally

The Viking disease or so I read. I’ll read more.

I’m jumping up and down for joy right now!!!
We just saw Sasha and he looks great ❤️❤️❤️
I’m so happy!!! It’s been weeks since we saw him and he was injured and I feared the worst. I’m so relieved and grateful he’s alive and well. I’m crying happy tears. Feels so good to be able to have something happy to share ❤️❤️❤️

This is the only photo I have of him. From August

Hello lovelies

I think sometimes pets have off days like us @finerthings. It’s a good sign that there’s been no more vomiting, so fingers crossed all will be well. You’re monitoring things, so will know if a visit to the vet is needed.

Yay, see I told you he was holed up somewhere resting @missy, such good news that he’s well and back at the Kitty Cafe! I know how relieved you must be  Woohoo for Spring weather, that makes everything seem better. It’s lovely here too, in the 70’s and climbing. I’m glad I didn’t see the thread, that person sounds despicable, we keep saying this, but what’s wrong with people who can’t/wont see the truth?

Thank you for the photo @Scandinavian, just gorgeous! Security is a wonderful things, except when it’s too secure! The day our house was finished being packed up, we couldn’t get in to our safe, passports, all sorts of important information, jewellery, OI! We called someone out, but before they came, we tried one last time and managed to get it open. I don’t suppose the manufacturers have any advice?

Had a productive day, made banana nut muffins, and choc chip muffins which are now safely stashed in the freezer so Colin doesn’t eat them all! I’m trying to get a few things made for when our friends come. We’ve been out and fixed the pool cover reel, and I’ve got a batch of yorkshire puddings cooking.

I hope all the lovely NIRDIs are safe and well.

Good morning girls and happy terrific Thursday!!!

I am in a rush so I apologize for the quick post.
I had my RT yesterday AM and then we met with my oncologist.
Went home and we went cycling woohoo. The very first ride of 2025 and it was glorious.
Beautiful weather yesterday. We cycled 44 miles which is not bad for the first ride of the year.
We have to gradually build up to our usual total mileage.
Unfortunately the not so great weather is coming back with rain and chill but we really enjoyed yesterday.
And we have a new kitty. I do not yet have a photo but saw her twice so far. Once yesterday late afternoon and then this AM.
She is an orange beauty and we named her Fanta if anyone is old enough to remember the orange soda lol.

@Austina yes you did!!! And so relieved you were right. It's really a rollercoaster with the feral cats and sometimes I feel so helpless. They are not truly wild animals and to be classified as such is a miscarriage of justice. They deserve better. Like the homeless humans most people are callous and uncaring about their situation. It is heartbreaking and I am always so grateful to meet fellow feral caregivers. I belong to a group and they do everything they can for their ferals like Greg and I do. But as I have said before it never feels like enough...have a wonderful day sweet lady.

@Slickk @marcy @canuk-gal @Austina @finerthings @springerspaniel @Scandinavian @Jemi happy Thursday lovely ladies

Hello everyone else...wishing you all a terrific Thursday

@springerspaniel this is for you. Our tree as of yesterday.

We have spent the day driving. Now we are practicing falling out of bed. Please send some dust our way for tomorrow’s competition. Fingers crossed! IMG_5403.jpeg

Hello lovelies

What happened to no more kitties @missy . :lol-2:: I do love a ginger kitty and Fanta sounds like the perfect name. Yay to cycling again, but boo to the weather not co-operating. Glad the RT went well yesterday. How are your dear parents doing?

Good luck for tomorrow @Scandinavian.

We managed to wrangle the pool cover on to the reel yesterday, no mean fear, it’s huge and it was a little windy!

Went to trivia last night, the questions weren’t our thing, and it was good to see a new team win - the faces of the team that usually win was a picture - what a lot of sour pusses

:wavey:

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another busy week--extra day of work and another MD appt tomorrow. Honestly.
Work was decent but hectic. I see my colleagues age before my eyes....LOL. Luckily I am already old and no one notices. LOLOL I should have scheduled my MD appt in the afternoon so I could have attended aquasize tomorrow. Alas, not thinking and too late to reschedule. Lovely temps here +16C but really windy. But I'll take the alternative. Nice temps to follow.

@Scandinavian LOL to falling on the floor. Love that you haven't lost your sense of humor. Much success on the competition. Hope you find a solution to your safe lock issue.

@missy good for you cycling! My DH had planned to cycle to the shop for his tune up--but the winds were brutal and not pleasant to ride in. Warm temps, but winds suck the fun out of riding in it. Don't you already have a furry Fanta? Maybe you need a Fantastica or Fantasia.

@Austina LOL schandenfreude to sour faces about a silly game! LOL I'm sure Colin could find the freezer if motivated!!!

cheers--Sharon

GM girls and happy FriYAY!!!!
Just another quick post as I am running late again

@Austina thank you. Today is the last radiation til May. It's pretty exhausting and glad this week is almost over. Thanks for asking about my parents. They are doing OK. Trivia night sounds like so much fun with the exception of those sore losers. What is wrong with them. It's just a game. Sheesh. I am glad you are not letting them spoil your fun.

@marcy this is for you..Wyoming is considered one of the best places to retire according to my medical journal!!!

Screen Shot 2025-02-28 at 5.45.05 AM.png

Yassss!!!!!
(I see no mention of the cold weather but healthcare trumps that lol)

@canuk-gal no other Fanta...she is the only orange feral cat we have but cream soda is beigey and Sassy is too though sadly we have not seen Sassy for months. I don't want to think about what could have happened to her. She only showed up a few times before winter. I pray she is somewhere safe and sound and was only visiting us and has another home she goes to.

@Slickk yay it's almost the weekend and I, for one, am glad this week is almost over..one more day..hope your week has been going well

Hello everyone else. So sorry I am in a mad rush. I will be back with a more proper post this weekend. Hope you enjoy a friYAY filled with yay and fun and only good things. Sending love and hugs your way. XOXO

Last night there was a rainbow after all the drizzle we experienced...sorry the photo sucks but I didn't go out to take this pic so reflections galore...next time I'll go out to get the photo

No color alterations..it was startlingly bright

Screen Shot 2025-02-28 at 5.53.25 AM.png

And a photo from yesterday during the day

Happy friYAY NIRDIs...enjoy!

I think you sent too little dust… So please know it’s all your fault. LOL
We started out fine for the first 3 minutes. Then both - let’s call him Pirate - Purate and the other dog found a bird. The same bird. And the bird was awarded to the other dog. Perhaps fair. Perhaps not. Difficult to say which dog was there first.
Second bird situation. New “other dog” because the first ran after the bird and that’s not allowed. Approximately the same happened again. Except now we saw the dogs “marking scent” and the other dog stopped first. Pirate likes to go close, you see…
Third situation. Pirate is pointing. I’m running. Huffing. Puffing. Uphill. Oh so far up hills… A little bit imprecise, Pirate moves to adjust. Bird goes bye-bye. The judge judges. And the result is (i) one empty pointing situation AND (ii) one accidental flush.
Oh my.
Early day back to the hotel.
Now we are pretending is a good day for some sofa cuddles. IMG_5406.jpeg

Hello again,
Some candy and a shower later, I might actually be able to reply to some posts as well.
@missy, I hope your went/goes well. Time differences are so strange. Your pictures are so magical. Amazing what the light can do.
@canuk-gal Those temperatures sounds just strange, please inform your weather that it is in fact February LOL. We did have a very good day here weather-vice actually. Perhaps -5C, sunny and almost no wind. Quite wonderful.
@marcy, What's for dinner? Your food reports always made me so hungry, feeling I could almost smell the food.
@Austina, how is the furry four legged one? Perhaps for the next trivia night, you might cheat just a little to really make those sore losers just a little bitt more upset...

Best wishes

GM girls and happy Caturday Saturday!!!

@Scandinavian aww I'm sorry, poor baby. Big hugs. And thank you. One of my favorite artists Hopper does amazing stuff with light.

@Slickk woohoo happy weekend..this week thankfully went super fast and it is a relief to be done with it..hope you have a wonderful weekend

@canuk-gal hope you are having good weather...ours turns colder tomorrow (30s F) for a few days but at least it's not as bad as it was..and hopefully it will start being warm more often now...bye bye to winter cannot come soon enough

@Austina @marcy @finerthings @springerspaniel and everyone else, good morning and happy weekend XOXO

We enjoyed hiking yesterday and it was super windy but we were protected from it for the most part. The deer were everywhere. I still get a thrill seeing them up close. Never get tired of that

Screen Shot 2025-03-01 at 5.43.06 AM.png

It was a beautiful bright day

Enjoy a wonderful weekend all

Hello lovelies

Awww sorry Pirate didn’t win, but sounds like he had fun anyway @Scandinavian. One time at a meeting, the person in charge said all gun dogs would want to retrieve. She waved a bird wing in front of Dottie, she then threw it, Dottie looked at her and walked off  I miss not having a dog, but were travelling too much ATM.

Lovely scenery @missy, deers are so majestic looking aren’t they? Glad you were able to get out and enjoy it. Honestly, we don’t care who wins - as long as it’s not the sore losers :lol-2:

We’ve started our garden tidy up, lots of pruning to do!

It’s lovely here today 84 degrees forecast for today, and tomorrow we’re going to a fundraiser at the bar for a lovely lady who works there (as well as a nursing home, and house cleaning)..

Have a great weekend lovely NIRDIs

:wavey:

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got out on our bikes today! Lovely, no wind day, 13C now and to be 16 as a high. Stunning day!!! I wanted to go out yesterday--just to say we cycled in Feb--but it was windy and I had a busy day. My pelvic (lady) pain has not gone away and I really don't think I'll be able to cycle everyday. Pelvic US booked for Friday...we'll see about that. We walked yesterday and planned to go to happy hour today, but I didn't feel like it. Lucky we have leftover Little Cesars pizza as I don't want to cook. As an aside, my BFF got her WF diamond necklace this week--and it is stunning. I picked the stone, of course! Lovely DBTY. (I picked her WF diamonds stud earrings as well LOL)

@missy your pictures of nature are lovely. I love nature also. Saw lots of sweet pooches on the paths today, but no other wildlife. Just cute babies!!! LOL. Lovely to see some of the usual suspects again this year and love all the "hello's" and big smiles. Best part of the day.

@Austina only 82F? LOL. I'm sure your yard will look tip top in no time.

@marcy any Spring your way? Hope you aren't working too hard.

@mrs-b and @MamaBee and all the NIRDI readers , hope you all well.

cheer--Sharon

GM girls and happy big and small dog Sunday from the freezing Jersey Shore. Mother Nature has gone cuckoo...one day 60F and then next windchills in the negative numbers oy oy oy. This AM Pepsi was first then Fanta showed and I held my breath they wouldn't fight and they peacefully coexisted next to each other eating. Whew. Did not yet see Fresca or Dr Pepper but we were a bit late waking this AM. Hopefully they are all safe and sound as the temps dropped pretty dramatically from yesterday when it was in the 60s!

@canuk-gal sister from another mister lol. Yassss. And girl, I agree. Seeing the wildlife around here is the highlight of my day too and of course stopping for every furry baby lol. I love the jumpers because it feels like a big hug and yesterday we had a lot of dogs who jumped on me..I was in heaven...enjoy a wonderful Sunday sweet sister

@Austina haha yes I agree. As long as those sore losers don't win it's all good. Happy Sunday sweet friend

@marcy girl, hope your weekend is going well and you are enjoying your new equipment. sending you hugs

@springerspaniel we saw our tree yesterday...I am impatiently waiting for buds to appear...It was so windy here yesterday I was worried it would take down more trees. It's crazy the wind here. Hope you are having a lovely weekend XOXO

@Slickk hope you enjoyed the mild weather yesterday...looks like our temps have plummeted once again now. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend...Hugs

@Scandinavian hope the rest of your weekend is going well and hugs to your furry babies from their Auntie Missy

@Jemi hope you are having a lovely weekend and all is well

Hello everyone else. As I type this Jasper is crying to be let upstairs. I feel bad and this situation with Bobby is making the other cats unhappy as they are no longer allowed upstairs or in the bedroom. Today is Bobby's injection day and knock wood he seems to be doing OK. Yesterday we went hiking though I wanted to go cycling the winds were in the 30 mph range so Greg vetoed it. I don't know when we will have the opportunity to go cycling again as it looks like the cold weather has settled in and then rain is here mid week when the temps warm up. Oh well. It is the beginning of March but getting that taste the other day of cycling makes me yearn to go cycling again as soon as possible. Hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend...XOXO

Hi NIRDI’s

@missy all your nature pictures make my day. You live in a very pretty place. I disagree with tow things in the info about retiring in Wyoming - housing is high and decent health care is few and far between. Fake news! I hate to hear the kitties are fighting.

@canuk-gal I hate to hear you are still having pelvic pain. I hope the US finds an answer to relieve that for you. We (probably like you) switch between all four seasons on a regular basis. A blizzard is on its way tomorrow. I bet your friend is thrilled with her WF diamonds.

@Austina nice to be doing spring clean-up for the yard and garden.

@Scandinavian we ate out this weekend. A steakhouse yesterday and Mexican today. I did make chocolate chip cookies yesterday since friends were coming over for cards last night. I’m sorry Pirate didn’t win.

Not much new or different here. We had a busy weekend but it was warm here for a change. The calm before the storm. I have a haircut in the morning, I hope the snow moves in later tomorrow. I need to get some groceries ordered too.

Take care,
Marcy

Morning from Scandinavia!
Thank you for all your good wishes, we did have fun this weekend. You are quite right @Austina, Pirate had a lot of fun. The smallest of our furry ones had his try on Saturday. Unfortunately he didn't find any birds. Quite windy though, so when the judges asked if I felt like the day was finished for "Link" I was very ready to call it a day. Was out skiing from 9 to 17.30 and in 14m/s that was quite enough thanks. LOL. Link had to have two thick winter covers / jackets on between his turns. So cold!
Sunday was just so windy, I chickened out... Gust up to 21 m/s is just too much, worried that the little one might get lost. It is not allowed with GPS or other trackers when competing. So I get a little extra careful (read: scared LOL) those days.
So @missy, not sure if the weekend did go well or not. But we are home safe. No prizes. But the furry little ones are the real prizes I guess. And I take comfort in the cookies I smell all the way over here and that I'm sure @marcy has put in the post for me... (A girl can always hope..)

Hope your day is more interesting than mine. I'm doing some charity work and then I'll try to prepare for a lecture I'm giving in the university on Thursday. I have done it before, but I always get soooooo nervous. And this time I'm doing the entire Thursday, so from 9 to 17. Oh my.. (self pity is also pity)

Ciao!

GM girls and happy how did you get here so fast marvelous Monday!

@marcy aww thanks and right back at ya. You are a wonderful photographer and I always look forward to your beautiful photos. LOL I hate fake news too. So much of that has taken over the world. Quite incredible really. But I digress. Hope you are staying warm and cozy and your pain has dissipated. Boo to more snow but glad your weekend was milder. Hope you get a good haircut and the week goes well

@Scandinavian yes, exactly. The real prize is the love of your sweet furry babies. And I am with you on smelling delicious cookies...oh marcy...lol. Hope your weather warms up and hope ours does too...not a fan of this cold weather but I guess changing seasons makes it worth it. I guess lol

@Slickk hope you had a lovely weekend and the week ahead goes well

@canuk-gal I am so sorry you are still dealing with pain and I hope you get relief very soon

Hey everyone else. Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Today is cold but we are planning on hiking. Then wet weather moves in but I know spring is on the way and I hope we all get a lovely Spring soon. Be well. Enjoy. XOXO

Leaving you with this photo that popped up in my feed this morning...six years ago exactly. I remember this gala at the museum of Natural History and it was really lovely

missyandgregmarchgala2019.png

Happy marvelous Monday lovely ladies XOXO

Hello lovelies

Oh my gosh, snow @marcy  It’s March, tell Mother Nature to give you a break! Glad you’ve at least had a taste of warmth. I’ve been really enjoying your stunning Astronomical photos on FB.

I’m sure the little one will get there eventually @Scandinavian, if not, I know you will love them all the same. Dottie was a gun dog terrified of the sound of gunfire. She would point beautifully, track and that was it, didn’t want to retrieve but she was an amazing dog.

I remember you posting that photo first time round @missy, looking like a couple of swells  I can’t believe it was that long ago now. Ugh to the weather, hurry up and warm up for you.

The weather here was lovely all weekend, but dull today. We went to the fundraiser at the bar yesterday afternoon. It was fun and hopefully they’ve raised lots of money for a new home for a very deserving local couple.

Unfortunately, when we got back to the car, I wasn’t paying attention, opened the door and smacked myself in the eye. I have a lovely shiner today!

Just got back from Costco, minus an arm!

:wavey:

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a difference a day makes--flurries and 0 today--yesterday was 14C and bright sunshine!! Went for a walk yesterday and saw lots of cute pooches again. Made Sunday supper and we all watched the Oscars. Well I didn't watch it all..boring...and I didn't see any of the movies. Well not true, I saw Dune 2. Anyway, I like the fashion and jewellery and it didn't disappoint.

Went to acquasize today and now I am sore. There was a medical event while our class was running--didn't see the issue but hope it wasn't serious.

Not too much going on, low on the thrill-o-meter. I guess that is good.

cheers--Sharon

Good morning lovely ladies and happy terrific Tuesday!!!

@canuk-gal yay for wonderful weather!!! Let's keep that coming!! Low on the thrill o meter is A OK with me. Would love some of that lol. Glad you got to aquasize and I hope whoever suffered a medical event is OK. I did not watch the Oscars. I cannot comment as to why as it might be considered political though not sure how asking for terrorists to release the hostages is political but whatever. Let's just say disgusting behavior and boring too so no thank you. I hope you have a terrific Tuesday lovely friend

Oh no dear @Austina I am sorry you got a black eye and hope it isn't causing you discomfort and that it heals very soon. Sending healing vibes and gentle hugs your way. And LOL yes we leave too much money at Costco on a weekly basis haha. But probably Chewy has them trumped in terms of what we spend weekly. Just thankful we can afford to feed all who need it by us. Hope you have a wonderful day

@Slickk hope you are having a good week and all is well and big hugs to Bear

Good morning @marcy @springerspaniel @finerthings @Jemi @MamaBee @Scandinavian and everyone else.
We went hiking yesterday and it was a good hike. I think I am working out too much and I need to slow it down. I don't know why but I am somehow up to 11 miles on the treadmill daily. I slowly increased without even realizing it from 7 to 8 to 9 to 10 to 11 over the past 2 years and it's getting to be an obsession so I am going to slow it down. It's not healthy for my body but it helps me workout my stress so it serves a good purpose but has gotten out of hand I think. Because then I go hiking or cycling so I think it's too much of a good thing if you KWIM. I share it here to hold myself accountable and force myself to be cognizant of the obsession. And break the cycle. Thanks for letting me share so I can do a more healthy workout.

Last night I asked Greg to get a measles vaccine because many years ago our internist tested him and his titers were zero so he got the vaccine again and again zero titers. So the internist gave him one more vaccine and still it did not take. Now I have a feeling this won't take either but I felt with the outbreak it wouldn't hurt to try again. He got it at Walgreens because our local pharmacy isn't offering it. Weird right? I mean there is an outbreak so why isn't our local pharmacy offering it? I am concerned because St Patty's Day is coming up with a lot of people and Greg wants to go and I won't stop him but it worries me so many people in close quarters. I usually go but not in the mood this year and Greg is trying to convince me but I have a feeling I just won't go. I am not a social person and as I get older I see less and less reason to like most people. And though his friends are great for the most part I am not in the mood to socialize. But we will see.

Today the high is in the low 50s but mostly cloudy and windy so unsure if we should attempt cycling vs hiking. We shall see. Whatever you do enjoy a terrific Tuesday my sweet friends. Be well. Be safe. Have fun. XOXO

And here's our last St Patty's Day gathering
It was fun but it takes a lot out of me
I guess that is the very definition of an introvert

Screen Shot 2025-03-04 at 5.50.51 AM.png

Happy Tuesday girls!!!

Hello lovelies

Have you managed to get your US scheduled yet @canuk-gal ? I hope they can get to the root of the problem (nearly said bottom! Oops) and quickly. No fun being in pain and it stopping you from going about your daily life.

I’m exhausted reading how much you exercise @missy, please don’t overdo it. Too much is as bad as not enough. My eye is Ok, thankfully the bruising isn’t too bad, looks like I’ve got purple eyeshadow on  We’ve got our vacs at the supermarket, because Walgreens don’t take our insurance.

Colin’s busy sorting out our taxes, and then filling in the millions of pages needed for my U.K. state pension.

I spoke to Shirley’s DIL yesterday, baby no 4 is due in a couple of weeks, and Shirley thinks she’s living in LA on a film set. As least she’s calm, happy and safe.
