Now I really did it :((

Thanks, guys, I’m back from taking him to the vet for cremation. I stopped and got two lovely precooked comforting homecooked style dinners from whole foods and have a TV series to watch. Just one of those days, and your thougtfulness really helps.

Jimmianne, I am so sorry for your loss. Big hugs to you.

I'm so sorry @Jimmianne, (((HUGS))). You did an amazing job caring for him. I'm glad you are pampering yourself a bit today, and you should pamper yourself tomorrow too. You have been through a very stressful and traumatic time, be good to yourself. Thinking of you <3

Hello lovelies

So very sorry @Jimmianne it’s always hard saying goodbye, but I’m sure your DD will be very grateful you were there for puss. It must’ve been so difficult these last weeks, but it’s what we do, because we care. :(2 Take some time to recharge your batteries, and look forward to your DD’s visit and all the plans for the ring and dress.

What you’re going through is just horrendous @Sandeek I’m so sorry that you’ve still got a way to go with your treatment, but hope in time that you’ll be able to get back to full health.

Hope today has brought more improvement @Tekate and the pain has lessened.

Those earrings are gorgeous @marcy, just what you need ;)2 Hooray for the w/e and time away from the madhouse for you.

Hope your Mum is continuing to do well @canuk-gal and will soon be home. :eek2: to your weather.

Thank goodness it’s been cooler today @missy, I hope you’re keeping cool too and your big tootsie (toe) is behaving. Indoor golf and a trip to a nice cool aquarium sounds like a great way to pass the time. I’m with you on waiting, I’m not a patient person by nature, so I find waiting unbearable

We were out early and thankfully there was a slight breeze, so we were able to get Dottie out and back before it got too hot.

Hope you’re enjoying the w/e @junebug17 & @PierreBear

We’re going to watch Justice League, then go to bed - our life is so rock’n’roll :mrgreen2:

Sending love and healing thoughts to all who need them xxx

:wavey:

Thinking of you Jimmianne

Hi NIRDI’s!

Missy, the song that starts “Caturday, in the park. I think it was the 4th of July” went off in my head. Yes, those fires are awful and I hope everyone stays safe. I was just looking at today’s large wild fire map and I swear there are more fires than yesterday. It’s awful. It sounds like you enjoyed painting; you should paint your kitties. Yes, Marty is a jokester and I do try to keep up. Your description of you and Greg was perfect, none of it surprised me and it sounds so much like Marty and me it’s rather strange. In both of our cases; it works. I am sure you’d take good care of my eyes; I don’t think it’s a bad idea to find a new doctor just to see (no pun intended). I actually slept in and didn’t run any errands. I think my allergies are making me tired. Stay cool and I love your picture of the sky; beautiful colors.

Sundeek, hoping you feel better and stronger everyday. I hate to hear you had such a hard time finding what was wrong; that is so frustrating. Big hugs to you.

Jimmianne, I am glad you have plans to take it easy today. What an awful thing do go through; take it easy. I am thinking of you. What TV series are you watching?

Austina, I am glad you got Dottie out before it got too hot today. Sometimes those breezes just add to the heat. Around here - rarely but occasionally we get a warm wind.

I am kind of working on laundry. I got the towel done, sheets are drying then I am working on the clothes out of Marty’s suitcase. I will save the rest for tomorrow. For 2 people we sure generate a lot of dirty clothes in a week.

Marty played golf and then we went out to lunch. We stopped at a fruit stand on the way home to get some peaches. He gave me a free tomato that looks really good. He only had peaches, corn on the cob and tomatoes. I am glad to see the farmer’s market is starting up on Saturday and there are little produce stands around town. They all come up from Colorado.

I was telling Marty these glasses I am wearing from 2016 seem to be working pretty well for me. I keep seeing little things that I need to clean. I think with the left eye correction not being so strong things are a bit sharper. Sweet.

I checked video on demand for the weekend. I don’t see anything exciting. Maybe we’ll go see the new Mission Impossible movie.

Take care.
Marcy

Here are the 4 options I like for pink sapphire earrings.

Studs with a halo, the dangles I posted earlier, some small hoops or jackets that I could wear with my studs. I mentioned them to Marty and he said go ahead and have them shipped - he’ll refuse them when they show up this week. He’s such a tease.

Here is the ring -

I just realized from these photos side by side the earrings are more pastel pink. I guess I should go see them in person.

Marcy, you are giving me bling fever!

Jimmianne, bling fever isn’t a bad thing. :D

Hi everyone!

Missy, it is kind of nice to do something creative. Hopefully I will not lose interest soon, that happens with me and hobbies. I will share a few things I've done, just have to get them out and take pics. It's great you and Greg can find things to do in the hot weather and I hope you had a fun day. That is a really gorgeous picture of the sky, these iphone cameras are amazing!

Austina, glad to hear it's cooling down a bit for you, I hope the heat wave passes soon. Watching a movie and then going to bed sounds like the perfect eveing to me lol! I will post a few pics

Sharon, wow, it's crazy that you had hail! Keeping your mother in my thoughts and I hope the results of the MRI didn't show any problems.

Marcy, glad you are taking it easy this weekend, nice to give ourselves a break. I agree, grocery shopping is so much better when you have company. Love all the earrings you posted, but I think I'm leaning towards the dangles - although the haloed sapphire studs are really lovely too. I like them all! Love pink sapphires, such a gorgeous color. Good news that you are seeing well with your old glasses! Your peaches sound yummy, as do the tomatoes and corn. I'm getting hungry thinking about them lol. Nice that you and Marty went out to lunch.

@Sandeek, I'm so sorry you have been through such a scary and painful time, and I do hope you recover as soon as possible and life can return to normal for you. In the meantime please join us whenever you need company, this thread is a nice escape and it's fun to read what everyone is up to. Helps one feel less alone too. Sending much love and many hugs to you.

Jimmianne, thinking of you (((hugs)))

Quiet day here, dh is out of town and ds had two shows with his band - luckily Zoe kept me company haha. Did some things around the house and went to a few stores. Oh, and took a long walk later in the day.

Hope eveyone has a great Sunday!

Thanks, guys, I’m back from taking him to the vet for cremation. I stopped and got two lovely precooked comforting homecooked style dinners from whole foods and have a TV series to watch. Just one of those days, and your thougtfulness really helps.

nite!:))

HI:
@marcy saw Mission Impossible today. WOW! Worth the ride!!

cheers--Sharon

Hi NIRDI's!

Junebug, I'd love to see some of the things you've decorated. I have started and left behind many hobbies in my life. Knitting has endured which means I need to get that darned scarf out and finish it before it gets cold again. Yes grocery shopping is better with company. Some of my girl friends and I thought of meeting for a drink then all go shopping. How could that possible go wrong? Thanks for the input on the earrings. I am down to the either the dangles or pink sapphires with the halo. Whether I pull the trigger is another question though. It sounds like you are having a relaxing weekend as well. That's great your DS's band has 2 shows.

Sharon, thanks for the movie review. I'll see when I can get Marty away to the movies.

Jimmianne, I know Tom Cruise broke his ankle filming this movie. It's cool that a big star like him likes to do his own stunts. I watched Knight and Day the other day; that is a cute movie. I hope you are doing better today.

I woke up at my normal time today. Darn. Marty played golf starting at mid morning and we planned on making tacos when he got home. Naturally he was starving about 2 pm so ate something at the golf course. Last time I sucker for that one. I had a peach and some crackers with PB on it to tie me over until 5:30 when we ate supper.

All the laundry is done (for now). I had to order some more sheets today since I tore the top sheet making the bed yesterday. I usually can't find California King sheets locally. I used to have multiple sheet sets but I only have a summer and winter set now because I always wash them before I put them away and then wash them again before I use them so I decided why have more than one set? The reason I am so anal about using sheets out of the linen closet is spiders. I don't want to have them sleep over.

I keep getting severe thunderstorm alerts but so far only a sprinkling of rain here and there. I worked on a program today about the Sun. I am updating the power point I had for school.

Take care.
Marcy

Good morning ladies! Hope ya’ll had a great weekend. DH is doing a solo man vacation this week and it’s business as usual for me. Hoping he feels recharged even though we both agree that it might be more fun if we were together for the trip. Think there are productive times to be alone even though being in isolation might not be the most enjoyable. Other than that, still trying to stay positive at work. Did some gardening this weekend and very excited to see new cactus babies. Trying to transplant some of them to space them out for better growth in the future so there isn’t overcrowding. Though not sure at what stage it is to uproot them since it is all one underground root system so you do have to “severe” the root. Well, fingers gross that all the cactus babies continue to thrive after their little move a couple of feet away from the mama plant.

@Jimmianne – Sorry to hear about your loss. Will you have a ceremony of some sort to celebrate his beautiful kitty life?

@Austina – Did you enjoy watching Justice League? I love your rock n roll life! Oh how is Adam doing with his fitness app?

@marcy – Did you watch the new Mission Impossible movie? I forget that Tom Cruise likes to do this own stunts. Pretty incredible even though he is a bit of a quirky guy. Ooohh I like your pink sapphire earring ideas. Very beautiful!

@junebug17 – OH wow, DS is in a band? What instrument does he play and what genre. Do you show up front row and center sometime?

@missy – I think your podiatrist comment is such a high compliment! That reminds me that DH used to rent cars frequently for work and would pick up cars from Hertz. One day he was running behind and asked me to pick it up for him. The lady said ohhh you are DH’s spouse? Well he married up! I guess that’s a compliment… sorta? Hope you are doing well.

Hello ladies! Hope everyone enjoyed the rest of their weekend!

@junebug17 glad you had a relaxing weekend. You deserve it girl! Enjoy creating your lovely art work. Forgot to tell you my parents rescued another cat about a month ago (I think they have 6 or 7 rescues now in the house with them Oy) and they named her Zoe! I have yet to see her photo as my mom's phone isn't taking photos for some reason. LOL what is it with technology and the older crew..oh wait I am for sure a part of that older crew and not being able to use my technology correctly haha. Guilty as charged. Anyway I hear their Zoe is also a love.:kiss2:

@marcy yes Dee is so lovely and so much fun. I am looking forward to her next visit. Maybe we can entice you to come here too...I bet she would pick you up. She offered to fly here and pick me up and we could take the train to Chicago. I mean how sweet is she? Anyway I would love it if we could all get together here...yanno, there's a bling show coming up again in NYC end of October...just sayin.:cheeky: Hope your program about the sun is coming along. Can you tell the sun to let up a bit as the heat is pretty strong right now. Wouldn't mind a bit of a cooling off.8-) LOVE your bling pics. Sweet ring and sweet earrings. Pinkalicious. :kiss2:

@PierreBear what a nice weekend you enjoyed. I love cactus babies and love that you garden. I wish I had a green thumb but mine is more like blacktop purple. Hope you don't miss your dh too much this week and you both enjoy your solo time. It's good to recharge and rejuvenate and when he returns I bet you will both be so happy and thrilled to be together again. Makes you realize how much you miss them when they go away for even just a short time. That is a compliment from that Hertz lady . Yes indeed. Sweet. And thanks, I think you are right about my podiatrist too. He has good energy.

Speaking of bling fever OMG my heart is going so fast right now...I might be getting a delivery tomorrow fingers crossed. :appl:Not in its final setting but a temporary one so it might be hard to see its true beauty but hoping even in the temp setting it comes through somewhat. Not sure how long it will take me to find the right setting but I have some ideas.

lorelaiexcited.gif

And speaking about that hello @Austina my bling sister in so many ways. Hope your heat wave has broken and you are looking forward to some lovely things ahead.:halo:

We rode yesterday and today despite the heat and just got super early starts to each day. But the heat wipes you out. The plumber just left because just yesterday I decided I wanted to start taking baths to detox (never took a bath as an adult) and wouldn't you know it the bath cold water wouldn't turn on. It's a lovely bathtub and according to the plumber it costs 8K. I had no clue bathtubs cost so much. Anyway after 2 hours (he was chatty) he was able to fix the cold water issue but we do have to order new parts but not an emergency. SO I can take baths woohoo. I am adding epsom salts to the bath to detoxify and after day 2 of my first adult bath I can say it's not bad. I sort of like it and can get used to taking baths. Now just need to go shopping and find bubble bath, lavender oil and maybe a few other accessories. If anyone has any bath product recs please share for this bath taking novice.

Oh and I also bought 3 new dresses that are super cute. And finally no alterations necessary so it gives Greg a break haha. Hope everyone is having a lovely Monday and surviving the heat and humidity and that the fires are calming down.

Thinking of all you lovely women who are dealing with health and other stressful issues and sending you healing vibes and gentle hugs. @Tekate, @Sandeek, @Jimmianne, @canuk-gal, and anyone else I inadvertently left out...thinking of you and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

(((HUGS))).:wavey:

Hello lovelies

Hot, hot, hot again :eek2: - make it stop, I’ve had enough.

Definitely a compliment @PierreBear ;)2 This weather is preparing us for Texas, but at least we’ll have a/c at night, I can’t stand feeling so clammy all the time. Adam’s app is going really well, it’s pretty full on keeping it all running smoothly. He’s off to Reno to visit his biggest clients this week, so it’s all go. Do you have plans while DH is away? Justice League was OK, we watched My Cousin Vinny last night, we’ve seen it a ton of times, but it still makes us laugh out loud.

I like the danglies and the halos @marcy, but I think you’ll need to see which is a better match to your pretty ring. Which style do you prefer? To me, danglies are more ‘going out’ as opposed to stud style which are more everyday way. I suppose it’ll come down to which you think you’d get more wear out of (unless you get both :cool2: )

Hope you’re enjoying your time at the beach house @missy and you’re getting out cycling before it gets too hot. Dip your tootsies in the sea water, the salt might help as well as cooling you down. I’d love to be able to do that right now :D

Hey @junebug17 did you have a good weekend ?

Continuing to send healing thoughts to @Sandeek @Tekate and @canuk-gal s Mum.

Only a couple of days before DD arrives @Jimmianne

Whilst I’ve been typing, a little foxy has been running about the garden, our ferocious guard dog, didn’t even notice

I bought a cooling gel pillow today, hoping that helps me sleep, will report back tomorrow! :cool2:

:wavey:

We were posting at the same time @missy - Himalayan pink salt is also meant to be good for detoxing when added to bath water. The only time I have a bath is on the ship, and I always use that - I would like to add I shower daily, in case you were wondering :P2

Hi NIRDI's!

PierreBear, I hope your baby cactus survive the move. Do they bloom? I hope your week goes well for both you and your DH. We did not go see the new Mission Impossible movie yet. It sounds like we are going to Denver this weekend so maybe in a few weeks. By then it will almost be available to rent on demand. Tom Cruise does seem quirky but I image that is normal for most celebrities. I like the compliment you married up.

Missy, that is pretty cool your parents have so many rescue kitties. You come by it naturally. :D I am sure Dee Jay would come pick you up; maybe even in her Billy Ray. Fun! Sorry you are still having such hot weather. Be glad the Sun is farthest from us this time of year or we'd be really having a heat wave. I am coming along well on my Sun program. I have to review my notes from class and then I should be ready to go. What? You might get your new diamond and ring tomorrow? :appl: And now I wonder if Bea is headed to another NIRDI? I am glad you got the bathtub working and are enjoying taking baths. My mother loved taking baths and she always had scented bubble bath. She used to get lavender or lilac scented.

Austina, cool thoughts coming your way. I'll have to check out My Cousin Vinny; i haven't watched it before. I know it's kind of a classic. I have the exact same thoughts on which earrings to get. I'll go over my thoughts below. I might get them this weekend. I totally chuckled that Dottie didn't notice the fox outside. My sister and BIL get a family of raccoons in their backyard which is full of a veggie garden. Their cat will stay up all night watching them and my sister has seen him fall asleep on the ledge because he's been watching them so long. She says it's pretty funny. I hope your cooling gel pillow helps.

For the second time in a week I came home to find the alarm not set and the back patio door unlocked. I told Marty his evil plan didn't work; nobody came in and took my bears. He did let in a pesky fly though. I won that battle.

Marty has his annual eye exam today. His blood pressure was high which I find really hard to believe so now I don't feel so bad. I don't trust those wrist blood pressure monitors that much. I had budgeted 2K for both of our eye exams and glasses and combined we only spent about $1160 so i mentioned "ooh now I can buy my pink sapphire earrings". Marty offered to take me to Denver this weekend to look. What a guy! I want to make sure what I pick (color wise) matches the ring. As Austina said the dangles would be dressier but I generally wear studs. I am kind of leaning towards the halo but going a different route. I could get pink sapphire studs plus jackets then maybe sneak in yellow sapphire studs as well. Look at me trying to find a way to get more out of my shopping trip. Sadly the renewal for my Macan plates showed up today and I should pay for them instead of earring shopping but hey they are good through September. Plates can wait a week or two, right? I should check WF prices for jackets.

They had another bad hail storm here today. The south side of town had 2 to 3 inch hail. We had smaller hail at work; I didn't check my car before coming home but I don't think the hail was big enough to do any damage.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls!!!! I am very excited and nervous right now.
wthisthis.gif
My heart is hopping lol and omg.

@Tekate Good luck today with the surgeon! Hope he can help you find relief from your thrush and help you heal! Thinking good thoughts for you and sending so much love and gentle hugs.

@Austina yes! I actually started adding Himalayan pink salt to my smoothies because my sodium is low. Though I am super sensitive to sodium in general I know I need it for adrenal health. So far so good. But my blood pressure is rising so not sure if I will tolerate it long term...I read about adding it to the bath so I will try that today. Thanks for the advice! And good to know you shower daily when you aren't bathing that is.:cheeky:

@marcy hahaha wait and find out :Up_to_something:. I cannot breathe I am so nervous lol. You are so knowledgeable about astronomy and so many things Marcy. I love reading what you share about the sun and moon and stars. All romantic stuff.
No to the back patio door being open. Sometimes we do that in our apartment but we are in a doorman building and I feel safe there but I do prefer and always try to make sure the doors are locked in both homes. Plus alarms on at all times. Well when I am in the homes alone and when we are not there. I feel better just having it on if I am home alone. I have NYC in my blood after all and you can never be too safe yanno?

Sorry Marty's blood pressure was high at the eye exam today but maybe he has white coat hypertension like I do? Gets nervous when the blood pressure is checked. Anyway yay for him spending less and you using the extra left over for bling. My vote is get the earrings you love and will wear and halo those babies if you want. As for earring jackets just make sure the weight won't bother you. I am weight sensitive and my ears can only tolerate 2.5 grams per ear so just make sure ok? Of course I love dangles but if you don't think you will be wearing them my vote is for haloed studs or jackets for your earrings to get more wear and versatility from them...as for license plate renewal well that can wait girlfriend!

Ugh to another hail storm Marcy. This weather is
pants.gif
. With your hail and our heat wave in the east and the fires out west where is there left to go?
We can join @rainwood on her vacation that's where. She won't mind...

OK so I will say bye for now

...hopefully my special overnight delivery will arrive today and I will like it. Fingers crossed.

Hi everyone!

Missy, so excited for you!!! I think you're going to be in love!

Nice that you are enjoying taking baths and yay to new cute dresses  And how fun you met Dee, she really is such a sweet and nice person.

Marcy, sweet that there is money left over for earrings! I hope you and Marty make it to Denver this weekend. Love your idea of studs and jackets, so versatile. You should definitely watch My Cousin Vinny, it's hilarious.

Austina, so sorry it is still so hot for you. The cooling pillow sounds like a great idea. My weekend was quiet but it was nice to do nothing for a few days lol.

PB, fingers crossed for your cactus babies! Hope you have a procuctive and good week, and hopefully it goes quickly and dh is back before you know it. I think it's good to have a little time to oneself sometimes. DS actually plays in 4 bands lol, but two are a little more informal. He plays bass and guitar. I am very happy he has found a creative outlet that he enjoys so much. I love having a musician in the family too!

Sharon, keeping your mom in my thoughts, I hope she is recovering well.

@Tekate and @Sandeek, thinking of you both as well and hope you are doing ok.

I might be taking a ride up to my brother's today, waiting to here from him. If not, I might go shopping for a dress for my niece's wedding. Here we go again lol.

Have a great day everyone!

HI:

Driving up tp see my Mom. Happy NITDY's! ttyl:wavey:

cheers--Sharon

@Austina Thank you so much for the well wishes. I hope it’s cooling down for you soon! We are super hot and muggy and I can hardly step outside. Which actually helps me stay sequestered like I am lately.

@junebug17 thank you for your thoughts. I’ll be ok as soon as I stop feeling sorry for myself. I do this by thinking of the alternative...Hope you find a beautiful dress for you’re nieces wedding! Soon I’ll be buying a mother’s of the groom dress! Eek

@missy I cannot wait to see what you have coming today! Yay to new things that make us smile. Please share when it arrives! Hoping you love it! Cant wait!

@Tekate Wishing you loads of luck today at your dr. today. I am hoping you have a successful remediation of the infection. Again, I am here if you need to talk, ask questions or just to vent.

I have an infectious disease dr appt today in hot NYC, home nurse yesterday, neurologist tomorrow. Never ending dr appts for someone who has always been healthy and on top of things.
Thank you ladies for letting me join on in. I am getting a little lonely being home alone, as I am surrounded by kids September through June, but it’s a good time to stay un-infected by them and take care of myself. Be well all!

Good morning! Yesterday I tried watching Hulu for the first time. Was surprised that there were advertisements. Anyhow, it was a calm evening but I stayed up later than needed. This always happens when DH is out of town, I piddle around and find things to do like relacing my new running shoes. Really?! Come on girl… why do you have to do it at 10 PM when you should be in bed. Hahaha… drive myself crazy.

May I ask for some cat advice? My cat is about 9 years old and is sweet as can be most of the time. However, I’m slowly seeing a trend where he is becoming a little bit more aggressive. He would occasionally nip you on the back of the calf or arm (if he’s sitting in a chair next to you) rarely. It’s usually his sign of “I need attention” which I always thought it was strange. You want me to pet you after you take a bite into me? But it’s his signal. Seems to be happening more and more. What am I supposed to do? Bop him on the nose very gently of course to discipline him and show dominance? Let him nip you and pretend nothing happens but it scares and startles me? I have been trying to do nothing but I fear his biting signals will become more of a habit. I hate using physical discipline (water bottle squirt is too slow and never around when you need it) and am afraid that would teach him to be more aggressive. Is this just him becoming a crankier older cat? Appreciate the thoughts as I know there are other cat fans out there!

@missy – You are sweet but compliment from the car rental lady but not really for my husband? Haha… Oh my goodness… I’m so excited for your special bling delivery. Please show me TONS of pictures! Oh glad you have been riding. I just discovered a brand of women’s cycling clothing called Machine for Freedom. It’s very pricy and ordered a long sleeve one because of the Texas heat but I’m having a hard time justifying why it costs so much. Cute but my patterned sports bra still shows through a bit. Also, DH and I just cycle solo or with 1 friend half the time so who cares what I wear. Anyhow, still thinking it through. Ahhh but my mind is wandering and I’m thinking about your bling bling bling bling coming!!! Dress pictures too please hahaha!

@Austina – Safe travels to him. Just had a former coworker find a job and Reno and is relocating there. Is Adam into gambling etc which appears to be prevalent there. My plans is to have no plans. I’m recharging as the introvert that I am and trying to get back into feeling like my normal self again. I know what you mean about feeling clammy going to bed and sometimes I do it to myself by putting on lotion and not allowing it to dry before getting in those sheets.

@marcy – Yes several of them bloom and even grow 1 to 2 feet stalks in the air. Very interesting plants for sure. Hmmm sis it strange for Marty to have high blood pressure even though he works out so much etc? Sweet of ya’ll to make a trip to look at earrings together. Hope you didn’t get any car damage from the hail.

@junebug17 – wow what a talented DS, playing in 4 bands. Neat that he can play more than 1 instrument. Do you play as well? I tried learning a string instrument as an adult and the hardest part was the finger strength to push down the strings for me. Hahaha tried so hard.

@canuk-gal – Enjoy the time with your mom.

@Sandeek – Good luck with your appointment today. Stay strong!

Hello lovelies

Well, the cat is out of the bag now, so yessssssss, I can confirm that Bea is coming to live with me

I think that both @missy and I were taken by surprise by the turn of events, but that’s just how it worked out. We went to OWD fully expecting to just look, and decide whether an old cut was what I wanted, and the rest is history!

Missy was going to the jewellery fayre the following day, and asked whether I ‘might’ be interested in Bea. I didn’t get my hopes up, because I didn’t think she’d part with Bea.

Anyway, she fell in love with her new ring and I was given the opportunity to acquire Bea. It was a no brainer :D

Neither of us wanted to jinx things, that’s why we haven’t said anything before now.

I’ve discussed it with Missy, and as Bea has special relevance to her, I’m going to rename her Bella, still acknowledging Bea, but also adding 2 L’s for the Lovely L colour that she is :mrgreen2:

My anxiety levels have been through the roof the last couple of days, the wait is killing me. Bella is in the air, somewhere over the Atlantic and will hopefully land later today. I then have to wait until FedEx contact me for customs payment, then they’ll deliver. Could be another couple of days :(2

Be back later, just wanted to share the happy news!

@Austina you send me some pix!!! when you get it please. Bella! belle of the ball, beautiful Bella! I love the name.

Okay I will update on my disgusting jaw problem :)

Went to the the oral surgeon today, on Thursday I will have surgery to open up my jaw and clean it out down to the bone. It's still not healing even though right now I am on Doxy, Thrush med and BP med.. life is just grand :)

I have to go with the hubster to his doc appt (he's fine).. so I will do my best to read everything new and comment.

@Sandeek you are very kind and I send you a huge hug.

Kate

Hello lovelies

Aww @Tekate that doesn’t sound like much fun at all :(2 I really hope it clears out the infection so you can start to heal. I’ll be thinking of you on Thursday and willing it all to go well.

Hi @PierreBear - sorry, no advice re: puss, with puppies, you put them in a time out or use distraction techniques for unwanted behaviour. Adam’s not a gambler so no worries about him losing the house while he’s there :mrgreen2: I often find myself doing things late at night when I should be sleeping :rolleyes2:

Hi @Sandeek I hope your appt went well today and was productive. It’s just awful to have to deal with all you and @Tekate are going through. :(2 When is your son getting married? Do you have any ideas for your outfit yet?

Hoping you find your Mum in good health today @canuk-gal

Hi @marcy :dance:to going earring shopping at the weekend, I hope you find the perfect pair. Jackets sound like a great idea, gives you a lot of versatility.

:-o To the door being unlocked, thank goodness you obviously live in a safe area. Oh no to Marty’s BP being up, hopefully as Missy says, raised because of the hanging around waiting. Will he need to go back to have it checked again?

I can really recommend My Cousin Vinny, it’s got Herman Munster in it too

Did you get to see your brother today @junebug17 or go dress shopping? We’ve been invited to our friends daughter’s wedding next year. I already have my outfit sorted :D No, I’m not really that organised, just saw a lovely dress and wrap a while back and bought it, and it’ll be perfect for the wedding.

I’m thrilled for you @missy that your beautiful ring has arrived, it’s been a nerve wracking few days hasn’t it? I knew it had to be something pretty spectacular to make you give up Bea, and wow, what a stunner

Just checked and Bella has landed  Hurry up FedEx and get her to me quickly.

:wavey:

Hi NIRDI's! The home of beautiful diamonds.

Missy, your new ring and diamond is amazing, stunning and gorgeous. I am sure you are totally loving it. When I am home alone I have the alarm on too. I just feel better with it on. I am sure living in NYC (or any big city) makes one very aware of safety. Good call. Marty asked me to find our little BP cuff so he can take his BP. As much as he works out and as healthy as he eats he figures he should be okay. I definitely have white coat syndrome. That day the lady running the initial tests was new and she didn't adjust any of the machines for a short person like me so I kept having to lean forward or stretch up to get in position on their machines. I am sure that didn't help my BP. I was thinking about the drawbacks of earring jackets before I read your post. The size I'd get would be small but I worry about adding depth and then the earring might fall off. Plus if I got them I'd use them with different studs and why have multiple sets of earrings that basically look alike. So maybe I'll get one pair of studs and one set of dangles. I seem to often come home with something other than what I went in to buy.

Junebug, I will definitely catch that movie. I have heard it's funny. I think I'll get the halo pair of earrings in either the pink sapphire or yellow sapphire then look at the dangles for the other color. Look at me trying to figure out how to get 2 pairs of earrings. I should check what I could trade in. :D Did you make it up to your brother's today or go dress shopping? Dresses should be on sale this time of year. When is the wedding?

Sharon, I hope you had a safe trip. I am sure your mom was happy to see you. How is she doing?

Sandeek, sounds like you'll be doing some shopping for a dress soon too. Good luck with all of your doctor appointments. I hope things go well and you start feeling better soon.

PierreBear, those pesky advertisements show up everywhere. I am with you on staying up later than normal when our DH's are away. I always find things to do and none of it important or necessary. Oh no about your kitty being aggressive; we had cats when I was a kid but I don't remember much about problems with them. We had to adopt our cat out because both my dad and I were very allergic to them. That is great your cactus bloom. I used to buy Christmas cactus and they only bloomed if they already had buds when I bought them. I don't have a green thumb. Marty is very patient taking me jewelry shopping. He found a Nespresso store at one of the malls down there he wants to visit. I'll check the weather before we leave on Saturday and if it looks like thunderstorms I may suggest we take the truck. I am pretty introverted too.

Austina, I totally was suspecting that you were the new proud owner of Bea. I am so excited for you. She is a beauty. Obviously you feel in love with OEC diamonds and you got a keeper. it worked out great for both of you and Missy. Are you keeping it in the same setting or getting something new? I hope Bella gets through customs quickly. I can't wait to see pictures. :appl: We do life in a relatively safe area but still; you hear about break ins around here too. I definitely have to watch that movie. I'll see if I can find it to download.

We had a lot of rain today with flash flood warnings. A tornado warning is going on right now north of here. Looks like it's heading right for my sister's farm with lots of hail. This summer has been unreal for severe weather. When we had the flash flood warning I sent Marty a text to put life jackets on the rabbits and bears. He said if water gets to our main floor the entire city is in trouble. Luckily we didn't have any trouble.

I left a roast cooking in the crock pot for supper. We had salad and corn on the cob with it. I was doing dishes for an hour but everything was delicious.

Take care.
Marcy

Tekate, good luck Thursday. I hope they can give you some relief. I hope things went well at the doctor for your DH.

Aha I skip reading over the weekend and find out there's been some swapping going on. Congrats to austina and to missy. Wow. Both beautiful B-named diamonds.
Gregs face when he had the package! He looked almost as psyched to open it as you must have been.

Sorry to hear about your dd's cat jimmianne. Im glad you were there at the end though.

Sandee and Kate I hope things start to look brighter for you both in the coming days. It's really draining to feel so cruddy for so long with no end in sight.

Marcy sapphire. Holy cow. I love that ring. I'd probably do the studs with jackets. Like a two-fer :kiss2:
