Now I really did it :((

Ok seems like we have a plan! A jewelry heist, then we never have to do jury duty again!

Hello NIRDIs!

Our air quality has been very poor due to the wildfires in our neighboring Province. Looks apocalyptic out there and has been for a week.

I see the leaves are changing color and that doesn't make me very happy either--while I love the colors it signals the change of seasons and I want summer forever!

No cycling due to the smoky conditions--it is the smell that gets to me, luckily we don't have reactive airways.

JA--hope your daughter got a good car!
Missy--hope you still have some blood left! 17 vials--that is a donation!!
Austina--glad you are enjoying your ring--that is what it is for!
LLJMom--I didn't know you were unwell; healing vibes your way.

I had a busy and stressful time looking after my Mom last week--she is now in rehab for her stroke. She is not a happy camper and while she is challenging at best being unwell does not help.

Looking forward to our family vacay in a weeks time.

cheers--Sharon

Stopping in to just say a quick hello. Hurray for the weekend. Stay safe and enjoy the rest.

@marcy – Sorry to hear that you keep waking up in the middle of the night and I’m sure the smoke doesn’t help you sleep soundly either. Hope you get some good rest over the weekend.

@missy – Glad the pharmacy refunded everything promptly. Hope your health is feeling on the up and up. Sorryyy GROSSSSS vials of blood. I am a complete wussy pansy hopeless little girl when it comes to blood. When I get my blood drawn, I have to close my eyes and then put my hands over my eyes just in case. Way to get through that whole event. Did you feel faint afterwards? Is your weight sustaining?

@Austina – Hello to you and Bella! Have a great weekend and hope you have fun things planned.

Hello lovelies

Happy Friyay :D

Glad the laser surgery wasn’t too bad @Jimmianne and I’m sure diamond talk was the perfect distraction.

Sorry you’re also a member of he wide awake club @marcy, I hope it doesn’t become too much of a habit, because it’s a hard one to break. Good plan on trying the batty lady routine, I hope it works and gets you out of jury duty, failing that, you’ll have to get a stocking and practice saying “stick ‘em up and hand over the goodies” :cool2:

Hope your dinner party goes well @PierreBear what did you decide to serve your guest? I’ll bet he’s really grateful for the invitation and enjoys your company.

I’ve only told one friend about Bella, she also loves jewellery, but I haven’t said anything to the others. I’ll wait until our anniversary before unveiling her, they don’t really get my love of bling ;)2 My band has been made and despatched, so maybe here tomorrow.

I’m glad the pharmacist is refunding you the difference @missy. The way I look at it, it’ll all add up over the years, and the money you could save getting it in Fla. could be spent on bling :P2

Glad you are able to get out cycling before it gets too hot, it’s warming up here, but Dottie keeps cooling down by jumping in the lake  She won’t go in though if another dog is already in :rolleyes2:

Ouch to 17vials of blood, has your arm recovered? Did the kitties forgive you for leaving them overnight?

Ugh to the smokey conditions stopping you getting out cycling @canuk-gal
Oh dear, sorry it’s been challenging looking after your Mum, hopefully she’ll do really well at rehab.

Safe travels to SC @junebug17 hope you have a smooth journey.

Healing vibes to @Tekate @Sandeek and @LLJsmom

Checking in ladies! well this is where I'm at.. I noticed two days ago that my lower jaw area was still infected, call the surgeon he said since I had an appt on Friday that all we do is wait for antibiotics to start kicking in (someday...somehow....) the tooth I had root canal on a month ago is very very sore, it's a mess, so I see the surgeon today and I tell him I want the tooth out.. it just hurts too much, he said, let's give it two more weeks, he also said that my osteomyelitis did not look totally bad and he had seen much worse, the bone in my jaw looked okay. I do have good news I think though. My surgeon and Infectious Disease doctor wanted me to be challenged for allergy to penicillin, I had a reaction many many years ago, so I was scheduled for October 2 for the first phase (allergists are like derms you need to book like a decade in advance, tough life being a doc).. but I went on their call if you get a cancel and I was called yesterday and went in, they first did 4 tiny pinpricks of a control and penicillin and you wait 15 minutes (more like 25 I think :) ) and if you pass that test the next test is a deeper (like in a shot like need but it was a shot just a bit of penicillin I think) then another 15 minutes and if you pass that one you move on the the 4th and final test, well I passed!!!! yay.. so next Thursday I bring in a bottle of amoxicillin (that of course I pay for :) ) and they start out with teeny amounts (like milliliter I think she said) then they move it up to a full dose - takes 4-5 hours of test re-test... the allergist gave me a quick appt (as opposed to 2 years from now) because of my case - actinomyces - the bacteria that is causing this whole problem is much better treated by amoxicillin than doxycycline.. so I am hopeful I will pass and get this show finally moving.

Sorry for the long update, it's been just a bummer and while I have this wonderful great life I'm just not reading and getting online because I'm reading books :read:

Thank you everyone for your kind words, thoughts, love and prayers, they make me feel great and lucky..

I'll do my best to get on more - EVERYONE I sincerely hope your weekends are safe, have fun and I hope everyone is feeling okay.

@missy you da bomb girl.. mucho love coming your way girl.

@Jimmianne glad your laser went well .. teeth, such a painful thing and so needed :)

@Sandeek do you have osteomyelitis too? I have it and it has a nasty nasty bacteria called actinomyces and probably other stuff but I forgot to ask my surgeon today what my latest biopsies showed (I always forget and he obviously forgets).. I have read online that with osteomyelitis that some people do well in the hyperbaric chambers, and some people do have to go to the hospital for intravenous antibiotics.. I hope you don't have this horrid thing... it's a bitch to cure... takes years and can come back I read, like years later. I send you hugs and healing dust and good vibes Sandeek, aren't ID docs the weirdest? mostly they just say: hmmm, keep taking the medicine, see you in 2 weeks. Take care of yourself... and remember there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Peace.

Absolutely stunning ring, Missy. Love it. It looks so fab on you. I seriously cannot stop looking and oogling over your pics. Keep them coming. The faceting it has is phenomenal and fate brought her to you. So perfect.

Thank you for your continued prayers and thoughts all! I am so busy with the infectious disease dr appts, hyperbaric chamber treatments, and IV antibiotics at home. But I am doing better and feeling a little more hopeful that’s there’s an end in sight. I can do this....

You ladies rock and it warms my heart to have so many wonderful ladies pulling for me virtually. ((Hugs)) :kiss2:

Off to hyperbaric chamber for two hours. :confused2:

@Austina God, I love Bella.. I think your new band will be awesome.

@marcy the bitch about waking up at the same time every night (been there) is that somehow you have to break it.. try some wine?? not sure - but for me a change helps, say like traveling et.

@PierreBear sending a big hello and wishing you the best weekend! hope you are feeling okay.

@junebug17 safe travels!!!

Hi @Tekate , yes I have osteomyelitis of the mandible (jaw). It came from unnecessary dental work. I found out after the dental procedures that what I most likely had all along is a nerve disorder called trigeminal neuralgia.
I had to be admitted into the hospital for eleven days. IV antibiotics and then surgery. They had to remove my entire jaw bone on the bottom right side, replacing it with a titanium plate. I will need a bone graft in the winter to build it back up. It’s quite the shock, and so upsetting especially since I was chasing a diagnosis for three months prior. And dentists/oral surgeon kept trying to fix me and I know that’s how I ended up with this horrible infection, which btw they can’t identify because I had three days of IV treatments before the surgery which neutralized the bacteria so nothing grew out of the cultures. I have been administering at home IV antibiotics through a picc line for almost six weeks now and just finished my first week of hyperbaric chamber treatments. I go every day for six weeks for two hours a day. It’s been one helluva ride.
I have been following your journey and suspected you had similar problems, and hoped the debridment and oral antibiotics would work for you. Mine was too far gone.
Also my dr thinks I may be susceptible to this as he thinks my female family members might have osteosclerosis due to my history.
I am actually switching my ID dr this week from the city one to one closer to home since this will be a long road. I hope that works out for me. They are a strange bunch. Oh, be sure to take heavy duty probiotics. My mom had this also and too much antibiotics and she ended up with C-difficile which is a terrible imbalance of bacteria in the gut.
Please, if you would like to touch base off of here let me know and I’ll link a LT listing. Apparently it is very rare in the jaw. I was in a large hospital in NYC and they said they see one or two a year.
I hope I didn’t inundate anyone with too many gruesome details. It feels good to unload. And maybe rant! My husband calls me brave and lucky that it could’ve been worse, but I still just cannot believe this is where I ended up. I felt absolutely fine with the infection. Never missed a day of work, no fever nothing....
Please be well and thanks for reaching out. :kiss2:

Sorry for the threadjack!

@missy Your Bubbalah is breathtakingly gorgeous and so happy for you @Austina that you have Bea. Such fun to see your pics!

I do follow along here when I’m not running to drs/appts and getting ready to go back to work in a couple weeks. :mrgreen2:
You ladies really are a caring bunch! :kiss2:

Hi everyone!

We arrived in SC tonight with no problems, except some traffic in the beginning that lengthened the trip. Zoe did great, only meowed a little at first and slept most of the way.

Missy, it's great the pharmacy refunded the difference. Wow, that's a lot of vials, not a pleasant experience and I do hope these tests give you some answers. I'm glad you and Greg have been able to go cycling and are enjoying your time at the beach. Your cat and dog poems are adorable!

PB, yum to breads and rolls! That classroom is going to smell so good lol. I'm so glad that you're feeling better. Life definitely has its ups and downs. I bought another dress to wear to the wedding, but I still might wear the blue one, I brought both with me and will decide this week ha. Good to hear that your kitty is a little less aggressive, sounds like the extra attention is helping. It's hard to figure out what kitties want sometimes lol - sometimes Zoe doesn't seem to know what to do with herself and gets restless and nothing seems to entertain her. It's thoughtful of you to have your coworker over for dinner, he might be feeling a bit lonely and I'm sure he will enjoy your company.

Jimmianne, glad all your arrangements are set for your trip! Lol to figuring out how to get out of jury duty, I think it will work :P2 Good to hear the laser treatment wasn't as bad as expected. I hope your dd was able to find a car she liked. Sorry you have been feeling a bit unsettled but things always have a way of working out so hang in there.

Austina, congrats on getting the printer to work! LOVE the pics of Bella, she is stunning! I don't blame that person a bit for oogling Bella, she's a star. Looking forward to seeing your new band, I hope you love it.

Marcy, how odd your printer kicked on all of a sudden like that, so weird. Hopefully it's working ok now though. Very cool that Marty saw Rob Lowe at the airport, it's not every day you see a celebrity. Sorry to hear that you're waking up during the night and I do hope your sleep improves.

Sharon, I hope your mother starts feeling better soon and that her stay in rehab is a short one. Sorry for the stressful week, it's really nice that you were there for your mom. It's great your family vacation is coming up, you deserve to rest and have some fun. I hope those wildfires subside soon, what a terrible thing.

@Tekate, so very sorry that you're still struggling with pain and infection :cry2:
It's encouraging you're not allergic to penicillin and I hope the same is true for amoxicillin. Thinking of you and hoping you start seeing some progress soon.

We arrived in SC tonight with no problems except for some traffic in the beginning that lengthened the trip. Zoe did great, only meowed a little at first and then slept most of the way. We don't plan on doing much for the weekend, will probably just relax and stay around the house.

Take care everyone, will check in soon! <3

Oh my goodness @Sandeek you really have been and are continuing to go through an awful ordeal. And your dh is so right. You are tough and strong and brave and are making it through this nightmare. I am so so sorry. It's surreal that you also felt fine with the infection that whole time and never missed a day of work. Good luck with your new ID doctor and I hope he/she is works out well for you. And hope your mom is doing OK too after her terrible ordeal with the same thing and then wtih C diff. SMH for you.

Sandeek, there is no such thing as a thread jack here...please know this thread is here for all of us to share and unload and vent and it's a catharsis of sorts. Started by me after my harrowing accident to help me get through those 8 months and it just kept going and it was and still is a wonderful respite here. Safe from the storms of life and traumatic events and our soft place to fall and find comfort and at times helpful info too. As always sending you bucketloads of healing dust and lots of love.

GM girls!

@junebug17 yay glad you have arrived safely and Zoe did well on the trip. What a sweetie pie. Tommy threw up three times within the course of an hour last night with 2 of them projectile vomiting and I was very worried. Called my sister and she reassured me just to watch him. I had never seen him vomit like that. Knock wood he seems ok this AM but I am still concerned. It's hard because our furbabies cannot tell us what is wrong and also who knows what he got into that he shouldn't have. Anyway I digress. Enjoy a wonderful vacation and relax, have fun and most of all enjoy peace and quiet. Are the kids coming down to visit? Your sister? Any special plans?

@Tekate aww you're da bomb too Kate, thank you! Haha when you wrote that it brought me back to my West Point Residency days when many of my young patients (the cadets) used to call me "da bomb" . Those were nice times. More innocent and gentle and I have fond memories. I was there for a few years and many years later I still received wedding invitations from the cadets who were my former patients. It really was a nice place to be in the late 80s and early 90s.

Hope you are healing girl and wake up feeling refreshed and better and that each day that continues. And yay for not being allergic to Penicillin...I hope the amoxicillin works its magic for you! My fingers and toes and everything is crossed for you that this works and takes hold and that the end of this experience is almost here with your pain a distant memory. (((HUGS))).

@canuk-gal so sorry about the fire and smoke conditions and all the problems it is causing. Hope your mom does well in rehab and yes I remember those days when my parents went through rehab. It was not pleasant. Neither of them wanted to be there and they are both stubborn (as many parents are when they get to be older) and it was unpleasant all around. Hope your mom accepts that she is there and works hard to get better and in the meantime that it doesnt drive you batty. You are a good DD. Sending you hugs and good thoughts for you and your mom and all the people affected by the fires. Yes, 17 vials was a new record for me (last time they just took 16 vials lol) but it was not bad and I did not feel dizzy or weak afterwards.

@Austina Love the new Bella pics. Cannot wait to see your new band. Hope you love it. The kitties were staring out the window for some time the night we were gone...Greg saw on the security camera but didnt tell me till yesterday as he knew it would upset me. Our kitties are not typical kitties (well typical in that they are mischievous and strange as most kitties are) and very dependent on us. They all came from challenging beginnings and had traumatic experiences before us so all are "damaged" in some way emotionally except HRH who was fortunate to have been saved as a newborn by firemen in Great Neck and brought to my sister's practice. Anyway they are OK now hopefully. Thanks for asking.

@PierreBear have a good weekend and feel well. Weight is 98lbs so I have to really work at gaining right now because I know it is a dangerous weight for me to be at my height of 5'6". I also look way too skinny...not good at all. But I don't want to give up AIP right now as maybe it is healing my gut which would go a long way in helping me in general. Such a catch 22. And all I gave up was nuts (of which I ate many each day and this proves it if I lost 16 lbs from just discontinuing eating nuts) and air popped popcorn. So yes I have to work on that. Thanks for asking.

@Jimmianne count me in...I will bring the getaway vehicle...our recumbent tandem trike. ;)

Have a happy Caturday Saturday girls! XOXO.

Some pretty flowers to brighten up everyone's morning. Taken yesterday during our cycling.

Highland Falls, a good good college friend of mine grew up in Highland Falls, first place I ever had a tequila sunrise! and of course West Pointers will always remember a cool, hot chick! I'm sure you helped them all Missy.

Raining in Maine today.. I guess the drought is overah!

xoxo @missy

Aww thanks @Tekate. They were pretty great too.

How are you feeling?

@Sandeek as my Irish mother would say "Jesus Mary and Joseph"! jeez. Let me say my grandfather (whom I never met but heard a lot about) had trigeminal neuralgia (tic deloreaux?), IT IS considered one of the most painful things a person can feel, it comes on for no reason, leaves for no reason, my heart to your girl.. I thought I might have that at first because the pain was EXCRUCIATING, and it does run in families, but THAT pain has subsided, it was horrible, have 2 c-sect was seriously a vacation. My heart to yours.. I read that some people do get better with the hyperbaric chamber, I send you my good vibes girl. I've lost 2 teeth over this and my surgeon is trying to save this eye tooth that I had the root canal with but I don't see it, it hurts, which to me means total infection.. the guy sort of can't stand me and loves me :) he's 41 and he became a surgeon because he didn't want to see recurring patients... Keep me posted on your new ID doc.. I've seen mine once, I go next friday and if I can get on amoxicillin hopefully she will start me on it, as I said above I go thru the real test this Thursday. My jaw is not where you are at, but I can say that it could have been if my surgeon hadn't placed an implant where I had the original root canal that he finally had to pull.. there was the culprit.. that thing just cooked for 2 years, it turns out I have a natural indentation in my jaw bone that a fistula developed (altho girl that is another story too doctors occasionally screw up). I said to him yesterday (oral surg) I think the fistula filled up again, he said maybe but we have to let the antibiotics to their job because he just did surgery 2 weeks ago and he can't open up again,, sigh... he did say he may have to clean it out a few more times in the next 6-12 months.. I agree, one can have a very bad bacterial infection in their jawbone and you don't feel it, I didn't feel it at all I just kept getting implants that got infected, they'd fall out and then the last he pulled out and THAT was the start of the major PAIN. My allergist Thursday asked me what dental procedure I had that caused my osteomyellitis. ha! I said botched root canal.. I give the guy creds tho because he pushed me up months to help.. another spiffy, dr armani type if you get my drift.. money talks. He's okay tho.

Okay we will make it thru this. We will.

And all the other ladies out here in NIRDI land having troubles we are united against bad medicine ;-) naw we stand together.. this is a great place to discuss things.. invaluable.

Talk soon @Sandeek
and also I say to the ladies, thank you for the thread jack, while it isn't, it is..

Aww thanks @Tekate. They were pretty great too.

How are you feeling?

well, today I feel fat, I suppose that is because it is so HUMID and I've blown up.. but that is life.

My jaw is okay except for the tooth - that eye tooth if I breathe on it or hit it, big ouchie!! but my doc sad let it go for 2 more weeks.. so be it.

How are you sweetie? gotta give me the skinny on all your tests Missy.. I can unequivocally Missy that medicine is better and worse today.. jeez you wouldn't believe the BS between my PCP and the ID doctor about my thrush.. shake mah head.

so.. let me know how things are going. I think I am more out of the dumps because the allergist said when I asked him 'do you think I will EVER get over this infection? he said "yes"!! so this sent me on a bit of upbeat mood.

hot in City/Jersey? flowers are beautiful as always Missy :wavey:

HI NIRDIs:

Cooler today but still a bit smoky. We ended up riding yesterday--but only half the distance. It was surprisingly nice--no wind and very warm. We watched the kids with their sailing lessons....and saw a few tip their tiny sailboats over! No worries, the instructors were there and they righted them quickly.

Missy, during my horrible year (mid 2016 to mid 2017) I dropped to 95 pounds as well. As we are the same height, I know this is "small" and my face was gaunt. I since have regained weight (20 pounds?) and look improved and feel well. Crossing my fingers you will not lose more and eventually get back to your fighting weight!

Health vibes across the miles to all suffering.

Nice flower pictures!

cheers--Sharon

Hi NIRDI’s!

Missy, i am glad you got a refund on your pills. Saving $30 a month for life does add up for sure. I have rarely suffered insomnia; I think I have too much on my mind these days. I know you and Marty both have way too many sleepless nights. I am with you that I don’t really care anymore what people think of me. 17 vials of blood is a lot. I am glad the kitties were okay at the beach house; between their bench and fuzzy rug I am sure they were fine. So I am picturing us trying to use your recumbent tandem bike as our get away vehicle and all I see is all of us falling over laughing. Pretty flowers.

Jimmianne, ha ha about planning a jewelry heist. I may see a possible out - one of the questions is if I’ve ever been party in a lawsuit. I was named in a lawsuit by an employee I fired a few years ago; I can only hope, eh?

Sharon, I’ve been watching the smoke maps and you can sure see the jet stream; I hope they get a lot of the fires put out. It’s awful. It seems early for the leaves to be turning but probably not. It has been too short of a summer. I hope your mom does well with rehab. Have fun on your vacation.

PierreBear, I did sleep in until almost 9 am this morning. It was wonderful. When do classes start?

Austina, I hope my insomnia quits. I was probably only awake for 90 minutes last night. An improvement. I think I could pull off the crazy lady pretty easily; especially if I take a bear and rabbit with me and have them “fight”. Is the band your are expecting the plain platinum band? I sure want more platinum rings. Great pictures of Bella. She is so photogenic.

Tekate, I hate to hear you are having more problems. Good luck with the allergy tests; I hope you can take that medicine. PS dust coming your way to get way better soon. You know it has ti be a mind thing that I wake up at the same time every night. I can’t even blame it on something kicking on at that time. When we had a TV in our room i always heard the set top box kick on every night at the same time. Grr. I love tequila sunrises.

Sandeek, yes you have had a helluva a ride. What an ordeal; you are a real trooper making it to work all the time. i hope you see some light at the end of the tunnel and start to recover. PS dust coming your way.

Junebug, glad you made it to SC okay and that Zoe didn’t get upset on the drive. Marty said he was going to assign a permanent IP address to the printer so hopefully that fixes it. It will only break when he’s in LA, naturally.

I forgot who asked about Marty and clients and I keep remembering to answer when i’m wide awake at night - he has 2 clients right now. His air force guy is off and on but got a great score on his PT test last week. The other client is a 78 year old lady that is doing great.

It was great sleeping in this morning. I worked on laundry today and the September newsletter. We had our astronomy meeting last night. We had about 15 people show up.

Take care.
Marcy

Hello lovelies

I’m just horrified to hear of your awful dental experiences @Tekate and @Sandeek I really don’t know what to say, other than hopefully these ordeals will soon be over and you can get back to a painfree life. I know Guy used amoxicillin and metronidazole for dental infections, and would sometimes double up with two different ABs. Positive thoughts and healing vibes coming your way xxx

Glad you got to SC without incident @junebug17 and that Zoe was fine on the journey. Dottie will usually just sleep when we’re on a long journey, I sometimes see her head pop up to see “if we’re there yet” :D Good idea to have an extra dress, you just never know.

Yes @marcy, it’s just a very simple plain 2mm plat band, I have toyed with a thin diamond band, but I don’t think Bella needs any adornment. I know a lot of people don’t mind a gap between rings, but it drives me nuts, so the band sits under the basket and gives a flush look, which I prefer. I also wear it above because I like the security of knowing Bella can’t slip off. I had her sized a quarter size bigger than I need to compensate for summer swelling.

I’m glad Marty is doing well with his training. How’re things with his job, is he still thinking about a change?

I’m not surprised you still hear from previous patients @missy, who could forget you? :D (I mean that in a good way). I think whenever you meet someone in life that you ‘click’ with, you always remember them.

Glad the kitties were fine, I’m sure they missed you, but glad all was well when you got back. Dottie was also ‘special needs’ after everything she’d been through, so I do understand your concerns, but they’re adaptable and resilient, and we worry more than they do.

Love the flower pics, after all the heat here, mine are flagging a bit, but my chillies are thriving

We’re definitely moving towards autumn here @canuk-gal - a few weeks ago it wasn’t getting dark till 10pm, now it’s 8.30pm. Glad you managed to get out cycling, even if it wasn’t your usual distance. Continuing good thoughts for your Mums rehab progress.

Hope your dinner party went well @PierreBear =)2

We didn’t do much yesterday, took Dottie out, into Pets@Home for dog food, she tried to take a detour to the treat section, but we headed her off

We watched a couple of films yesterday, which we really enjoyed, Antwone Fisher and The Post, both worth a look.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend. :wavey:

outside and no energy to make things better, but I am having fun sketching the chaos : )

Marcy, I have had good luck with insomnia by taking a magnesium tablet before bed, also having a strong cup of chamomille tea before bed. If you recall, I used my fitbit to track sleep for part of last year. Using melatonin (or wine) actually disrupted deep sleep, not that you said you were using those as sleep aids. They say you can get more hours of sleep by going to bed earlier. That has worked for me.

When I read of our NIRDIs current tooth and jaw issues I feel very fortunate that mine was caught early. I had a glimpse into your world these past few weeks and think of you both often during the day and wish you health.
Love and Bon courage!

Finally, my dd has her « new » car and I am pleased. She was getting a prius because it was the only car on the lot that appealed to her, but with her driving style I felt it was too small lol. Just before we signed the papers I asked her to at least test drive a Honda suv and she fell in love with it. Mission accomplished!

Missy and Sharon, I cannot imagine either of you at 95 pounds! Sharon, how did you gain back the weight you needed? Did it take long? Fighting weight Lol that sounds good.

GM girls!

@marcy sounds like your astronomy meeting was a success. Nice job. Glad you don’t often have insomnia issues like Marty and I do and Sweet on a good night’s sleep for you the other night. Now I know mine are at least in part due to adrenal stress. But fixing that is very challenging. Fingers crossed I can do it eventually. Has Marty looked into adrenal/thyroid issues as a potential sleep disruptor for him? Just a thought. Nice going on his 2 clients who are doing well. May word spread and bring him great business.
Have a lovely relaxing Sunday.

@canuk-gal oh my. So glad you’re back to your fighting weight. Haha I use that term too. Our fighting weights are almost exactly the same. Isn’t that funny and we both lost a similar amount of weight when dealing with health issues. So glad you’ve resolved yours. Long may that continue. How’s your mom doing? Keeping her in my thoughts and hoping rehab is going well.

@Tekate oh yes it’s hot hot hot here the past couple of days though today is raining and cool. No cycling sadly for us today but heading to my most favorite estate Jewelry place so I think it will be a lovely day. How are you feeling today? You and Sandeek have indeed been to hell and back and I know you’re on the right side of things but it’s such a long process. You’re doing amazingly well considering everything you’ve been through and continue to go through. Thinking of you and ((((Hugs))))

@Austina aww shucks thanks girlfriend. And right back at ya. And now with our “new”rings we are even less forgettable haha.
You wear Bella so well. She was made for you. :kiss2: Hugs to Dottie and glad she’s in a loving wonderful home with you and Colin. That goes a long way in overcoming a traumatic past.

You were asking about when my adrenal results would be back. Well the adrenal stress test came back so fast. 3 days. Delivered to my inbox at 3am Saturday morning. The lab said it would be up to 2 weeks. All I can think of is that since I was my own provider in ordering the test and the doctor gets it before the patient that is why I got it so fast. Anyway not unexpected results. Shows I’m in a stress pattern of low high low high adrenals. Not sure exactly how bad I am or how to treat as there’s quite the difference in opinion. Lovely @Matthews1127 is helping me and I am hopeful I can improve my issues so I can ultimately be able to take the thyroid meds I need. Because of my stressed adrenals I cannot tolerate any thyroid meds so my depleted thyroid levels are further exacerbated by my stressed adrenals and it’s a vicious cycle. More than you ever wanted to learn about adrenals and thyroid I am sure lol.

@Jimmianne wow I love that piece you created. Completely captures the chaos you were feeling. I feel it just looking at your beautiful sketch. Just wow. :kiss2: When you visit can you please do a sketch of Bubbalah and Joy? I would so love that.

@Sandeek how are you doing this weekend? Any plans today? Thinking of you. What you have endured is beyond comprehension but knowing you are making it through and will come out of this intact is everything and you and Kate are so freaking strong. You’re my heros. Strong brave wonderful women. XO.

Have a wonderful Sunday girls. @junebug17 Hope you’re enjoying the beach and beach house. Hugs. @LLJsmom hope work is going well and that you are feeling 100%. Love you girls. Enjoy. :wavey:

Hi NIRDI’s!

Austina, I like my bands to set flush too. Your band looks great with Bella and great idea to wear it on the top of Bella for security. Great shot of Bella, it shows her glowing glory. So far Marty’s job hasn’t changed and I think they are officially going by the name of the new company. I guess time will tell. I think you are right that if you really click with someone you never forget them. I noticed later sunrises and earlier sunsets too. It felt like autumn this morning. Glad you enjoyed watching some movies.

Jimmianne, did you draw / paint that picture? It is very cool. Thank you for the suggestions for helping me sleep. I should wear Marty’s Apple watch 2 at night and see what readings I get. I have tried to go to bed a bit early since my allergies have been bothering me more than usual. Good deal that your daughter got a Honda SUV; sounds like more protection for her in a vehicle.

Missy, I hope you can help your adrenal stress so you can sleep better. I read what you said about your test results and trying to get things worked out so you can take yours meds. I wish it wasn’t all so trial and error for you and there was an easy answer. Marty thinks he is invincible and would probably never ask about something like insomnia. I quit suggesting things to him as it just seemed to annoy him. I know his mom has it bad too. Did you find anything exciting at the jewelry estate place?

I got up about 7:15. We went out for breakfast and then stopped to get groceries. I am finishing laundry, working on the newsletter and filled out my juror’s form online. That website was awful. If you tried to go back to change an answer it kicked you out and then you had to click through to that page when you went back in. Amateurs or cheap app developers there. We are going to be windy and rainy here today but no hail in the forecast. It felt like fall when we were out this morning.

Take care.
Marcy

Argh! There’s been an accident outside our house. We heard a huge bang and ran out to find our gates smashed up. Young kid in a souped up car, took the bend too fast, crashed in to a lady coming the other way, has totalled her car. Miraculously no one was hurt, but we’re going to be in for a boat load of aggravation getting it sorted. We can’t open the gates, so hopefully we can get someone out tomorrow to come and have a look at them. Sorry, not major in the big scheme of things, especially as the idiot was trying to blame the poor woman because she’s not English, her brake marks show she wasn’t on his side of the road as he’s claiming.

I called the Police as her car was blocking the road, and I suspected he was drunk or high, he was extremely agitated, they breathalysed him but he was within the limit.

We checked his insurance company, big surprise, it’s for people with motoring convictions, I won’t be surprised if he’s got speeding penalty points on his licence.

Sorry. Just needed to vent.

Hi Nirdis!

Missy, oh no to Tommy not feeling well, is he doing better now? My niece (sister's daughter) is getting married next Saturday and my sister is busy with last minute stuff so she won't be in SC this week. Maybe the week after the wedding. My kids are flying into NC on Thursday for the wedding and have to head back to NJ for work on Sunday so it's just dh and me. Gorgeous pics of the flowers! I hope you have a wonderful time going to your favorite jewelry store, lucky you! So many gorgeous things in that store. Sending lots of good wishes you can figure out the results of your test and hopefully get some answers about treatment.

@Tekate, hope the antibiotics kick in and the pain in your tooth subsides soon. (((hugs))). And I'm glad your allergist gave you some encouragement...I know you're going to beat this!

@Sandeek, I am just so sorry for the ordeal you are going through, it is has been such a rough road for you. I am hoping and praying your treatments help. Sending lots of hugs and comfort to you. Please join in this thread to share what's going on with you whenever you want, this is a great place to unload and get support and company.

Sharon, glad the weather is nice and you were able to do some cycling. The kids must have looked so cute in their little boats!

Marcy, sorry about waking up during the night, it's hard to shut our minds off once we start thinking about things. I find reading on my phone (black background and white letters, otherwise the light from the phone keeps me awake) distracts me from my thoughts and helps me fall back to sleep. It's great Marty has 2 clients and I hope he gets more. Ugh, so sorry filling out the form is such a pain.

Jimmianne, I haven't tried the magnesium yet but I will - in fact I'm going to order some and try it while I"m in SC. I take melatonin and I do think it helps me drop off but I find myself waking up during the night. If I'm being honest, I think the cat is waking me up but I don't have the heart to kick her out LOL. I agree with you on going to bed earlier - I'm a bit of a night owl so I have to work at it but I do think it's helping. Congrats to dd on her new car! I'm sorry you're feeling unsettled, I know that feeling all too well myself these days...your sketch is absolutely amazing! You are a very talented artist.

Austina, LOVE the new band with your gorgeous Bella! I'm glad you found a band that works so well, it looks perfect. That pic is ! So sorry about the accident right outside your house, I hope it can get cleared up soon. Glad to hear nobody was hurt.

Having a nice time here, mostly just going to the beach and hanging by the pool. Dh got some golf in and we went out to eat last night. The calm before the storm lol - I have a feeling my niece's wedding is going to be hectic! Dh has some conference calls scheduled for the next few days, so we'll just plan things around them.

Have a lovely evening everyone!

How awful Austina. I hope he pays for all of your damage and aggravation.

Junebug, I do finding reading a bit before going to bed calms me down. My biggest problem is I want to read just one more chapter. I am sure things will, get more hectic the closer it gets to the wedding. Enjoy your quiet time now. Enjoy the beach for me.

Greetings Austina! what a terrible thing to happen, glad the girl is aok (kid too). When I was younger I was driving to work in a sleet type rain, I came to a 4 way intersection and EEKK! I thought I lost my brakes but I finally stopped just short of entering the 4way and BOOM! the girl behind me who had been tailing me smacked me into the intersection, crash boom.. so cops come - exhusband comes who informs me if had been driving it wouldn't have happened, one of the gazillion reasons why I am NOT married to him anymore. So we exchange numbers blah blah, I call my insurance company and I wait, car can't be driving, month goes by, call my insurance company they say they haven't heard from her insurance company, soooo I call her, she was maybe 19 and I was like 26, she answers and I say what the heck is going on !!! - she says - I'm afraid to call my father and tell him - would you please call him?
NO I didn't call him..

I hope to continue to read how it's going getting the fence fixed Austina! this could be a long one.

GM girls!

@junebug17 what a lovely vacation and so much fun having your niece's wedding coming up. Weddings are my most favorite events to attend generally. And when it is for a beloved niece even better. Glad that your son and daughter are attending the wedding and staying with you for a few days too. Enjoy! Sir Tommy seems to be all better knock wood and thanks for asking. OMG the bling yesterday was delicious. Will share pics when I go downstairs to get my phone. Fell in love with a sweet emerald ring with an OEC halo. Wowza.:kiss2:

@marcy sorry the jurors website gave you issues. I had Greg fill out mine haha. I get frustrated with poorly designed websites and these days I am definitely avoiding stress as well as people who stress me out. Best thing for me. Glad you got all your chores done yesterday and that there is no hail in your forecast. Yes I did find a gorgeous emerald ring and lovely dragonfly pin and I was tempted I won't lie...but the emerald ring was too expensive for me to spend right now and I never wear any rings besides my ER and WB so that would be a wasted purchase though that ring is yummy. And the dragonfly pin was quite reasonably priced IMO but it just isn't practical for me to wear because it is so big and as a pendant it would probably impale me.

@Austina oh no I am so sorry. Thank goodness nobody was injured. I hope you can get it sorted out rather easily and that the insurance companies make it right without much fuss and mess. Wishing you a smooth process and may your gates be fixed quickly without any more aggravation and stress.

@Tekate how was your weekend sweet Kate? Oh my goodness what an experience with your accident when you were 19. I have a similar story (well it's different and only similar in that I was young lol). I was driving and my fault entirely (I was barely in my twenties) as I was searching for a good radio station (haha remember those days how quaint it all seems now) and there was stop and go rush hour traffic on the expressway (which was anything but an expressway lol) and BAM! Took my eyes off the road as we were barely moving to find a good music station and I rear ended the boy in front of me. I say boy because he was barely older than me. Turns out he had a poor driving record with many accidents and speeding tickets and he pleaded with me not to call the police though it was completely my fault and I said that to him. Still he asked could we please just settle it b/w ourselves. Lovely passersby (fellow motorists as we were on the expressway mind you blocking 2 lanes) lent me their mobile phone (relatively new in those days and I sure didn't have one) I called my dad who said ABSOLUTELY not. That I had to call the police. I felt so badly about the whole thing as it was entirely my fault and now this poor boy was going to get into trouble. Anyway everyone (including the boy) was super nice and as far as accidents go it was a pleasant experience. Sounds weird I know but everyone was lovely. Sorry for the long story. I tend to go on I know.:oops2:

How are you feeling Kate? What is on the schedule for you this week?

@Sandeek how was your weekend? How are you doing? Greg and I started watching a really interesting docudrama on Netlfix last night called "Afflicted". OMG it's so scary and yes I can relate. I was thinking of you and @Tekate and me while watching this. We saw 2 episodes last night and I am riveted but it was upsetting too. Since we have and still are going through not a dissimilar experience. Medical mysteries for some of us and for some of us the cause has been found but successful treatments elusive and challenging to find. Anyway I mention it in case you or anyone here is interested. I like medical shows though this one might be too close to home these days if you kwim.

Wonderful day yesterday and I will get some bling pics I took yesterday to share with you. Gotta go downstairs to get my phone...BRB.

Sigh. My photos as usual do not do justice to this ring but OMG believe me IRL the setting and whole ring was amazbling gorgeous. TDF romantic.

Adorable dragonfly pin. Love the ruby eyes.

and for @Austina here's a Bee on a Canna plant flower. Reminded me of Bea/Bella for some reason.:sun:

And lastly when we arrived back home and I took my Bubbalah off my finger HRH was up to no good. She almost swatted the jewelry box off the island. Mischievous little princess. :o

She's looking at it and looking at me and I see her little wheels turning...:cheeky:

oh oh she's going for it...

Not on my watch!
Saved for another day.
