Now I really did it :((

@marcy ,((( It is so hard to cross domains - if one can see over their fence, they often have no right to over-ride the opinion of a peer; with no stakes, this play gets ferocious as a matter of course, but I see the same difficulties in primary care as in my work without stakes...

Leukemia versus infection is one idiotic blunder.

@missy, I'm sorry that the doctor isn't willing to try the higher dose. I'm hoping the slightly increased dose surpises you and helps you feel a little better. So nice the weather cooperated and you and Greg were able to get some cycling in.

@Jimmianne, it's great to hear from you! That doggie is so adorable. And what an amazing view!

@Tekate, your time in Austin sounds like so much fun so far. How wonderful to be together with your family and enjoying such a happy time with your granddaughter and your kids.

AV_, such a beautiful picture...and such a wonderful place to do your work.

@marcy, sorry about all that traffic but Pike's Peak must have been such a lovely sight. The trains you saw do sound very cool, I love stuff like that. Hope you have a great time with your friends tonight. It is terrible the doctors misdiagnosed your mother for all those years, I am so sorry about that.

I'm afraid I have bad news about Zoe...I took her in for a teeth cleaning last Tuesday and the vet called me before the procedure and said she found a mass on Zoe's lower jaw. The vet did a biopsy and called me yestereday and it's cancer. I knew it would be but still a shock. I'm not going to have it removed, it would put Zoe through too much and the survival rate is very poor. Without treatment the vet said the average rate is 1 and a half months. She said she has had a few cats who make it to 4-5 months. Right now the plan is to give her steroid pills, and if that doesn't go well then steroid injections, to help with the inflammation that this cancer causes. Taking it one day at a time but I'm adamant that she doesn't suffer. Right now she seems to be comfortable and eating and drinking well. The main change I see is she does not play anymore. The vet mentioned she is doing well considering how ill she is.

Sorry to be such a downer...I don't think I'm going to be posting for a while - let's face it, this is really depressing and I won't have much to say - and I wanted you all to know why you're not hearing from me. Thanks for listening, I struggled about posting this but it felt wrong not to let you all know what is going on.

Love to you all xxx

OH June, I am so so so sorry, gosh so many dogs get cancer.. I suppose in one way it's because we fur parents LOVE our dogs and cats and they live longer but I am so sorry, I'm here for you, text me on IG if you want, I feel for you. I am sure you are struggling, I think when my baby Daisy was diagnosed with hermangiosarcoma I couldn't move for hours.

@junebug17 YOU are NOT a downer, this hurts and I know we all care tons and tons. AND MORE THAN THAT.. I send you love June.

Thank you for your kind words about my family June, thank you for thinking of me at this time, means a hell of a lot to me.

MY FUR MOM HEART TO YOUR FUR MOM HEART June.. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

@junebug17 Nobody mentions this part of life & who doesn't know! Drop by with anything at all.

:wavey: Nice to be back here! I have a half hour to chat! We both drove in from Maryland. I always pick David up from work (sheltered) early on Friday with my mom, David, Bailey and a ton of stuff...It can take me up to four hours from the time I leave my house to pick up David up north..and then have to drive south to head to Maryland..My husband just goes by himself from work and gets there in an hour and forty minutes...:roll2: Something is wrong with this picture in my mind..I’m pooped by the time we get there..and then I pray as I’m driving in to town that there’s a spot on my street to park the car..Okay..I need to have some cheese with my whine..;)2

Thank you for all the birthday wishes for David....He had a great day. I owe him a trip for his present. He loves to stay in hotels with a pool..I can’t swim but I made sure all my children had swimming lessons. David doesn’t swim like everyone else..He does his own thing but is super safe in the water.

@missy I don’t know how you keep your happy attitude with all the medical challenges you have had lately. You sound so much like me except for the allergies. I’ve taken Cytomel for a year for exhaustion..I don’t take it anymore because it didn’t do anything for me. I had to take it at noon. I would forget to take it even though I set the timer on my phone. I can’t imagine having to take it every four hours. I hope it works for you.
I can’t believe you had to wait so long for your results...I am happy that the doctor spent time with you on the phone explaining everything. I’m hoping you can find a way to get the CT scan with the contrast dye...but understand with all your allergies and sensitivities to everything..would be a challenge.
I have to make my appointment with my doctor which is nine months overdue because I always have something wrong with me..I have to pop my head out of the hole in the sand and be brave like you and go..
I laughed when you said Greg took the Costco bullet for you..Too funny!
I thought you knew I was Love Sparklies on IG! I had my IG on private after I got some spooky people follow me...I deleted and blocked them..and stayed private for a while..I recently removed the privacy block but it spooked me a little so I put the privacy block back on today. Any PSer is welcome but I’m boring! Hahaha! I need to develop a talent or something!
David made a mistake and put tinier diamonds in my little huggie earrings than I wanted..so he’s remaking them. They won’t be too blingy but enough that you can see they’re diamonds..I hope! I’m getting pretty anxious..

@Tekate I’ve only seen one photo of you but I agree with @missy that Autumn has your smile! She looks so sweet! You make me laugh so much. I see your big heart through your words..I love to read your posts. I cracked up when @missy wanted a date for her BFF and asked for anyone around 50 years old..Your reply that the girls you know would be 65+ had me laughing out loud! When are you going back to Maine? I know you are enjoying your grandma time..but I hear you wanting to get back to your own bed..You got to spend lots of bonding time with Autumn...

@Austina I’m impressed you painted your kitchen! I used to do that all when I was younger..but I’m retired from painting..It pops my shoulder out and then I’m in pain for weeks..I’m sure it looks nice and fresh. I just had my dining room painted above the chair rail. It was a light green which I didn’t like. I lived with it for eight years..I decided I wanted it a light grayish blue..the same color as the living room in Maryland..Benjamin Moore Pale Smoke..I went to a meeting at my son’s job leaving the painting in the handyman’s hands..When I got back I was so excited to see how it came out. Imagine my surprise when it was green! It wasn’t the same color green but it wasn’t blue! The handyman kept insisting it was blue because he didn’t want to paint it again. He was pulling off the tape and hanging things back up..lol..! My mistake was the house in Maryland was a Sherwin Williams brand which was color matched to the Benjamin Moore Pale Smoke..Evidently Sherwin Williams Paint and Benjamin Moore have different bases so the color match will never be exact. He hung my very heavy mirror up and my drapes..so I’m leaving it. It doesn’t match my rug so I had to buy a new one..
I love your haircut...The color is so pretty too..My hair looks like your cartoon when I let it dry naturally. I flat iron my hair or it bushes out!
I’m sorry about Shirley...How nice of you to offer to give her children a break and have her stay with you for a bit..

@av I’m sorry you had food poisoning..I never had it but my son did and it was awful..He was away at college and I couldn’t do anything but offer sympathy. He got severely dehydrated...I’m so happy you’re okay now.
I loved the photos of your flowering fig trees.

@Keeliamira I’m so happy your son is home and doing better...I’m sorry that DD2 has pain. I can’t believe they want her to wait until the next doctor appointment. Thank goodness you got the insurance straightened out for DD1.
My first Mammo when I was forty years old had five microcalcifications
clustered together..They wanted me come back in six months for another Mammo. I lived in New Jersey at the time...but went to a breast specialist in the Bronx for a second opinion. He agreed that I should go every six months. They did that for three years and then I went yearly after that. That was a long time ago. Peace of mind is also important..so if you’re worried..then get the second opinion.
Great news on your hubby’s job interview..
Your macaroni and cheese sauce looks yummy!
@marcy I can’t believe you still are getting snow! I love your new earrings! You must be so happy to finally have them! I feel like you have been waiting so long for them. They are definitely worth waiting for! I never had a peach margarita..You convinced me to try one this summer..:lickout:
I don’t sleep either so totally related to your cartoon. It’s weird but I sleep better in Maryland than Pa. I have less on my plate in Maryland so that’s probably it. My brain is in overdrive sometimes...
@junebug17 I LOVE your new VC ring! It really has a beautiful design..like lace...I’m glad you had fun at your niece’s wedding...
@Calliecake Your mom sounds like my mom..Mine lives with me so it’s a challenge..I have a crease between my eyebrows from squinting and not wearing sunglasses..She keeps asking me what it is and what can be done about it..I tell her I could get it filled with a filler but with my luck I would get the rare side effect and go blind...:wall:
@Sandeek Yay for having your picc line out! You have been a trouper! It’s all uphill from here!
Your dress looks beautiful on you. I know you liked the other one better but the one your son likes is so pretty too. I’m sure anything you wear would look great on you..
@Scandinavian Your photos are always so beautiful..The snow looks so pristine..
Talk to you all tomorrow!

@mambean This is my insomnia writing, so all I can think about are your paint colors - they are both within a narrow enough domain of pale & grayish shades of celadon glaze that I am very drawn to - in the nephrite & topaz & beryl & sapphire & diamonds & scarves & as you like it.

Tomorrow better be a quick & short day, since it is 5 am & I am replying to letters that could wait.

I’m so sorry about Zoe @junebug17 , this is what my last boy, Harry had. You’re doing the right thing keeping her comfortable until it’s time. It’s devastating, but they rely on us to do what’s best for them, and I know you will. xxx

Dear @junebug17 I am so sorry about Zoe. Heartbreaking doesn't even begin to describe what you are going through and while I know it doesn't help I am crying with you. No words can help ease the pain but know I am here for you and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I am so so sorry Junie. {{{Hugs}}}.

Oh @junebug17 I missed your sad post about Zoe... My heart breaks for you..I’m so sorry. I can’t even imagine the heartache..I wish I could give you a big hug...Please don’t think you would be a downer. Most of us have furry children...We love them so much it hurts..I hope you will come here and not feel you have to be be cheery..No one would expect you to be... (((((((((((Bear hug)))))))

Good morning girls. It's Monday already. How did it get here so fast?

Nice going @Austina, you have accomplished a lot. The floors, the clothes and donated to a good cause. That always feels good. Hope you have a lovely Monday. XO.

@marcy so lovely you were able to see Pike's Peak and yes that made the trip worthwhile. Not to mention your free coke. It's the real thing. Coca cola. :P2 Double sweet you got it for free while Marty had to pay for coffee. Sorry about all the traffic you had though. That is our life on the road in NYC and NJ. Always traffic. There's an 80/20 rule. You go the first 80% of the trip smoothly but it takes you the longest to finish the last 20% due to construction etc here. Takes longer sometimes to go around the block in NYC than across the state. Your topic of meteor showers for the August newsletter sounds perfect. August tends to be a rainy month anyway so the shower topic works.:loopy: (((Hugs))).

@Tekate wow you still had a reaction even after the trial test. That is worrisome. And makes me wonder all over again if I should even bother doing the allergy testing for the CT dye. The technetium has so such test so do I risk the bone scan and I think I have no choice. Though still waiting for approval by my insurance company. ::) Love your IG photos. Autumn is so precious as are you and John. I wish I could just hug you guys through the screen. :kiss2: XO.

@AV_ I enjoy figs. They are sweet and yummy. Your gardens are beautiful. And restorative and energizing. Love being around all that beauty and I can imagine how lovely it all smells too. Hope dinner last night was delicious and that your Monday is bright. XO.

@Mamabean sorry David has to remake the huggies but I am sure they will be worth the effort and I cannot wait to see them on your ears. Yes I know you get it due to your health challenges and appreciate the kind words. It's hard to be upbeat all the time and believe me I am not. I cry and get it out and then realize I have no alternative but to make the best of it. I am very scared and will not lie about that but I am hoping it will all be resolved and I will be OK. The unknown is scary and what is going on with my bones makes me nervous. I googled it and that wasn't a wise idea. Bad words came up so I will not be googling it again at least til I know more. The kidney thing is scary too but I can only deal with one thing at a time or at least one thing and then I compartmentalize and think about the other issues. LOL. Compartmentalization is how to get through things that are challenging. Thanks so much for your kind and warm support. Sorry you had some scary people follow you on IG. I can understand why you went to private again. Please make your appointment with the doctor and hope all goes well. Have a lovely Monday sweet Joanne. XO.

@Sandeek how are you doing? How was the first weekend of sweet freedom? Haha no need to answer as I know the reply. It was wonderful. Sending you big hugs and hoping you enjoy a lovely Monday. (((Hugs))).

Yesterday I got my mom a Mother's Day gift and we did some shopping and ran some errands and I had a nice long hot bath. It was a good rainy Sunday. It is a bright beautiful day at the beach today. Enjoy a good Monday girls.:wavey:

Leaving you with a photo from yesterday afternoon of someone jet skiing in the pouring rain. Now that's living.:cheeky:

@av It’s not Celadon..but very close..It’s leaning toward blue this morning...It’s not a true blue and not green..or aqua either..It has a gray undertone today. Here’s a pic from early morning. I had to order a creamy beige rug..The colorful one doesn’t match..The color is pretty so it’s okay..

Hello lovelies

Ah yes @AV_ I knew I recognised it, just couldn’t put a name to it! We have a large pink jasmine in our garden, and it smells lovely in the summer. We hack it back every year, but it comes back even more vigorously the next year.

Thinking of you @junebug17 and hoping little Zoe is comfortable xxx

Ugh to traffic @marcy, every trip would be great without it! Good score on the free drink and getting home safely.

Whatever the colour is @Mamabean, it looks lovely, very calming. Adam has Sherwin Williams paint in his house, he checked with the builders, we went and bought more. We repainted 2 bedrooms on our first trip there, and on the way down the stairs, there were several scuffs from the previous owners moving out, so I used up what was on my brush before cleaning it. Only problem, it wasn’t the same

Googling is a dangerous thing @missy, it always has the worst possible scenario, please don’t let what you’ve read frighten you unnecessarily. You’re dealing with so much already, you don’t need to worry about anything else at the moment. I hope the weather stayed bright so you could get out and ride today.

We cleared out the utility room today, lots of junk stuffed in to the cupboards, so that’s nice and tidy now.

It’s a holiday here today, so it was nice and quiet on the roads and in the woods when we took Dottie out.

Hope you’re all have a lovely day :wavey:

@Austina Did you have to repaint the wall where you touched it up? I’ve done that myself..
I decorated everything on the main level around this beautiful wool rug runner I bought eight years ago. Trouble is I’m not a big fan of red and it’s everywhere..I prefer to call my things raspberry..but I know it’s really red...I’m replacing the rugs inexpensively because I don’t know when I’m moving..
@missy I’m glad you stopped looking things up on Google. I did that a lot for a while..and really scared myself... and worked myself into a state. I hope they are just being extra cautious..They have to mention everything to cover themselves. Radiologists... especially...are doom makers...My doctor has told me that many times....In their defense they have to cover themselves in these litigious times. I hope you’re able to find a way to have the contrast and it clears any concerns..
I love the water view from your house. It’s so beautiful..I can’t believe that person was jet skiing in the pouring rain..
Your bath sounds wonderful. I used to take baths all the time..but now David takes his bath in my tub because it’s deep..and he loves the water. Trouble is he’s a big hairy guy...enough said..:confused2: In my next house I’m going to get my own bathroom with my own soaking tub..bliss...ahhh
@junebug17 :kiss2:
@Tekate I love that you love being a grandma! My grandson just turned two..He tries to call “Nonna” on this little toy phone. I’m Nonna..
Talk to you all tomorrow..I’m so tired...

HI:

JuneBug__I just read your post and I cannot express how sorry I am to learn the news about The Divine Miss Z. :cry2: She is not mine but I love her as if she were. Please take care of you and yours. Pray for miracles!

kind regards--Sharon xoxo

Hi NIRDI’s!

AV, you are so right about over riding the opinion of a peer. The extremely high white blood cells were showing up for years and the doctors just said “oh that’s normal for her”. No point thinking about what could have been but I sure think she had a lot of poor / incomplete diagnosis.

Junebug, I am so sorry to hear about Zoe. Big hugs to you and sweet Zoe. I hope the steroids keep her comfortable. I forgot how pretty the Pike’s Peak. It’s over 14,000 feet so really is a sight. It is a shame they didn’t figure out what was going on with my mom sooner.

Kate, no I haven’t had much luck with doctors. I guess I have too many weird things going on which makes me a challenge mostly since I am allergic to everything. Both of my nieces went to grad school at Texas A&M, the niece who was in the 5K race also got her doctorate there. They love their school for sure. Nice you got the spend the day with Autie.

Mamabean, that is quite the drive. My commute takes about 17 minutes and that’s too long for me. You have been busy and I enjoy hearing stories about your life. Darn that the paint colors were so different because of different brands. We had more white stuff today but it was hail. I am sure we’ll see more snow. May is a wet month here. Thank you, I have been enjoying my earrings. Do try a peach margarita; they are delicious.

Missy, I am sure your traffic jams are frequent and awful. I always try to limit my liquid intake before we head south incase we are stranded. I did enjoy my free Coke; today I got a free car wash today from the rain. Maybe I should pick up some lottery tickets. Big hugs to you; I know the unknown is scary; I hope you start getting answers sooner than later. Looking up things online can mess with your mind for sure. I do the same thing though. Great picture of someone jet skiing. It sounds like you are having a nice time at the beach.

Austina, darn the problems with matching the paint on those scuffs. I touched up a scratch on the floor and it doesn’t match at all. Could I wipe it off? No. Yay for cleaning things out and being nice and tidy. I need to get back to that task myself.

Hi Sharon. Are you getting warmer weather yet?

We had hail, lots of rain and even a tornado warning today. I’m starting to think like Marty, why do we live here again? Speaking of Marty he is heading to Arizona on Wednesday and will be back Thursday. A quick trip.

Take care.
Marcy

Marcy:

Travelling (leaving, snow storm), (arriving, snow storm). Remote snow storms: warm + cool. Such is life in our neck of the woods. You?

cheers--Sharon

Sharon, that sounds very similar to here. Typical this time of year.

Good morning girls.

@junebug17 continuing to keep you and Zoe in my thoughts and prayers. And sending you gentle (((hugs))).

@Sandeek glad things are continuing to go well and improve and lots of dust for that to continue and hoping you receive good news very soon. And summer vacation is almost here...just saying.

@marcy good idea to limit your liquid intake before a car ride with unknown traffic patterns. I cannot believe you had hail yesterday. But I do believe it because I saw your FB photos. LOL and OMG. Safe travels to Marty. Hope his Arizona trip goes well. Maybe you should play hooky from work and join him. The weather has to be better there. You are right. We are enjoying our beach week very much. Hugs.

@Austina glad you cleared out your utility room yesterday. Nice going. Thank you and yes the weather has been quite lovely. Crisp and clear. I think we have one or two more days of nice cycling weather before the rain returns. It was a gorgeous day here yesterday.

@Mamabean thank you for your good wishes. I still have no appointments scheduled. Seems everything moves at a snail's pace here. No approval and not even sure the internist's office referral department is doing what they should be doing as I was supposed to hear from them last week. I called Friday and checked but it's all still "pending". I am not calling this week. Need a break. Glad David enjoys his baths. And yes, please do get your own bathtub next time. You deserve it. It is so lovely. I am relatively new to baths having just started them this past summer and I don't know why I waited so long. LOL I almost took the claw foot bathtub out when we moved here because I was not a "bath" person. Wrong.

@AV_ hope your Monday went well. Any updates or plans this week out of the ordinary?

@Tekate sending you and Autumn and John and your whole family (((hugs))). Yay for your son's arrival today. Hope it is a joyous family reunion!

@canuk-gal hello there. Sending you (((hugs))) and good wishes. Hope all is well. And that you soon will experience nice (ie not snowy) weather.

Off to cycle soon. We enjoyed a 55 mile ride yesterday which was wonderful.
Have a lovely Tuesday girls and sending you all (((hugs))).

Hello everyone!

Waiting for Chris, may go to an open house before. This weather in Texas gives me a daily headache. Pollen ugh.

@missy Hi sweet lady! how are you feeling? good I hope.. I love the jersey show.. it's beautiful.. hope you had a great time riding your bike with Greg xoxoxo

@junebug17 how are you? how's your pup? sending you love and hugs..

We are off to the Hill Country to look for houses - we leave next monday for the 3 day drive back and then after a week off ;-) we will start the process of getting the house on the market, we are going to sell John's piano and the riding lawn mower and hire a service to handle the lawn this summer. We are still going to have Lisa the decorator redo our master bath but toned it down for resale not for us (subway tile anyone!!, no curbless shower either).

Autie is perfect, my son's are taking me out for mother's day brunch on Saturday a.m. (and Mike's mom in law too).. it will be Autumn's first foray out into the world! can't wait.

Hope I can shake this headache. ugh.

@marcy @AV_ @Calliecake @Sandeek @Austina @Mamabean @ringo865 @Scandinavian @canuk-gal Hello all you ladies of the NIRDI, hope you ALL are well, and happy and on this warm and rainy Tuesday in Austin I send my love to you all.. Gonna try to check in ltr, we are planning dinner with Kathleen, Jim and Chris at this moment, but planes and Jim's business calls may change that :)
