Now I really did it :((

@missy Yup Missy girl I get it. I so get it, it's a hole forever. What I admire about you and I (cause of course I MUST admire myself right? ;-) ) is we move along and we do something good, Franesca was your kid, now you've adopted a new kid, and time will tell how it goes but YOU and Greg know that the world is full of abandoned, hurt, sad cats and you do your damndest to help them, if that doesn't say character then I don't know what character means (and I do). When I adopted Salley, I said to John, "I want a black dog, I have read over and over that back dogs are nearly impossible to adopt because they look scarier" he was fine with it, but if I couldn't save Daisy and I tried, then why honor her with our Salley Walley who needed a home desperately. I am glad I did it and I have never ever regretted it. xoxoxo to you for being the fine person you are and Greg too.

Your endoc not having a portal is a pain, sorry about that. You know what I think about physicians in general, sad to say but I have no faith just hope. :)

OOOOOHHHH on the pix of Oliver, is he not adorable, I can see he loves you! truth!!!! love these pix, keep them coming girlie!!! sending you love Missy. Thank you for being my friend.

@junebug17 Junie your picture is beautful! I love SC it's almost exotic to me, it's got way more southern charm than NC imho. Laundry! laundry, the bane of the traveler girl. THANK YOU for your kind words about my Ever, I really think I have to watch out when driving, truth! I love the ring I have to say, it came together much better than I thought it would. Glad you got the suitcases back June what a cluster---k pardone moi but truth. Hope you have a wonderful day June xoxoxo and June, honestly the Italian old guy (my age of course) looks better in my pj than I do xoxo

@marcy YOU handled yourself so well and I didn't find it boring for one nano Marcy, not one, let's hope she thinks about what you said, I'm hoping, if your leader asks you a question and you have been wanking and then you can't answer, that to me shows that the wanker will have to think. It's tough being a manager, I hated it, AND a manager get's to make the rules, and unless they are a sociopathic manager one must abide by them. Marcy I RUN HOT, I would love to live in Canada, John runs COLD he loves Texas. I would not move back really! I hate the heat there, but Autumn and John's happiness are very very ad infinitum important to me, I will live in A/C and a pool :) done it before and I will get to see Mike more (my first baby ;-) ) oh yeah and my DIL too ;-) (I do love her). John spends the day here weeding and looking at Texas houses. I love him and he made the money and I want him happy, I have a lower happy index than he does, I can be happy anywhere really, but the winter here, ugh John can't hack it. Me? I am in heaven, but I will be in heaven with Autie and the fam. lucky me that I have this wonderful life to be honest. xoxoxo

@Calliecake how are you? what is going on?

@AV_ happy late afternoon to you lady!

@Mamabean I LOVE THIS NEW SETTING.. you know that because I already told you in your thread but truly I love it, and I love those little beady things around the baguettes, very classy! I hope you love it, I went right over to IG but only that lady who had the new wedding band was there, her band looks good btw. xoxoxoxo have a great rest of day.

@Scandinavian sending Hi's from Maine, USA, hope all is well with you, kids, furkids, the HOUSE, the new bike?, and of course your Mom. xoxoxo

@Slick1 more pix please girl! xoxo

I thought the news MrsB had today was wonderful, I'm so glad for her, she's a good person and her stone - the big one - in the 3 stone ring, is TDF gorgeous! good news all around I think. Going out to dinner tonite to Empire Chinese Kitchen in Portland (if we can get in that is, one time we couldn't so we went to a Thai place near it) Empire is the best Chinese food I have ever had. Hope we can get in!

The kitchen remodeling company of course never callled me back so I called them at 9:00, hopefully tomorrow between 1 and 3 they will come by and measure, can't say I'm getting my hopes up tho. Saw on IG this morning that my decorator just started a "HUGE RENOVATION" for a kitchen, so I wonder if she has forgotten us, I dunnot, I don't see her getting here in August, she never has even sent us pix of what she thinks would look good. I'm disappointed in the whole thing really. :(

BUT it's a nice day in Maine, all is good and I'm happy to be alive. :)

love to all the NIRDIs.

We can now see why the chain came off yesterday.

@missy, love the pic of you and Oscar! I can tell he was a sweetheart just by looking at him. I am so happy Oliver's collar is off! He is adorable and the pics of you and him are precious. I am so glad he is with you and Greg, he has a wonderful life ahead of him because of you guys. I am really hoping his cornea heals. LOL to him chasing the other kitties, he really is a toughie! I'm sure he'll settle down at some point, he is just the sweetest.

@Mamabean, I'm so glad your ring is ok! It is such a gorgeous setting and I think it's really going to show off that beautiful diamond. Can't wait to see it on your hand!

@Tekate, thanks for the nice words about my pic, it's a peaceful and relaxing place. Hopefully the renovation guys will show up tomorrow, how frustrating! And I hope the designer isn't too swamped with that new project. Hope you were able to get into your favorite Chinese restaurant, sounds like fun. I hear you on being happy anywhere...dh has his heart set on eventually retiring to SC. He really loves it there. I really like it too, but I'm very attached to our house in NJ. Ah well, it will all work out and I'll be ok wherever I end up!

@Calliecake, thinking of you and hoping you are feeling ok!

@Slick1, hope you're having a great time!

Not too much going on here...went to the gym and did some cleaning. Oh, and tried to fix our printer but that didn't go too well unfortunately, boo.

Love to all the nirdis!

Hi NIRDI’s!

Junebug, that employee was nice and friendly today. I was kind of shocked. Thank you for the kind words for my ring; I’ve had it quite a while but I still wear it frequently. It’s different than most of my other rings. Great parting shot from SC; it’s beautiful. I remember it being very green. I bet you had a lot of laundry with 2 suitcases full of clothes. I am glad I caught my pendant falling off; I would have freaked out losing that pendant. Oh no that your printer isn’t working. I’m all thumbs with electronics.

Mamabean, your ring is GORGEOUS! I can’t wait until you get it; hurry up Monday!

Missy, love all of your pictures. I was glad I talked to my employees by themselves yesterday; my boss wanted to do it as a group with him present. I know that lady would have complained about everything and the others would have agreed with her. I am so glad I didn’t lose that pendant. Marty looked at the clasp tonight and pointed out an obvious gap. No wonder. Oliver is so cute and sweet and I am delighted to hear his eye is better. Too cute he was chasing around the other kitties.

Kate, Salley was meant to be your sweet furbaby. Glad she brings such joy to your lives. I totally get why you didn’t enjoy being a manager. I do hope my employee thought over what I said. I told her I don’t want to micromanage people, I want them to be happy at work, I want them to succeed but they have to do their job. I am not enjoying management. Marty had about 90 employees (direct reports and their reports) when he quit where I work. He was worn out of management. I am sorry you run hot. I am cold almost anywhere. I am sure you won’t mind the heat being close to Autie, Mike and your DIL. I can be happy probably anywhere too as long I have Marty and my teddy bears. I saw Mrsb had a post; I was heading there next. I am glad she got some good news. I hope you enjoyed the dinner. Darn that the kitchen renovation company isn’t getting back to you. That isn’t a good way to start a project with someone.

Work was rather uneventful today. Nice for a change. I met a friend for lunch and picked up Arby’s for supper. There was way too much traffic trying to turn left in to Arby’s and coming out of there. Our annual Frontier Days starts Friday and you can tell the crowds are showing up already. I’m one of those locals that goes in to hiding for the week.

Take care.
Marcy

@missy, Ollie’s eye looks sooo much better. What a cuddle bug and he looks like he seems like he is getting along with the rest of the babies. He sure looks like a happy little guy!! Did you hear back from the doctor today?

@Mamabean, Your new ring is beautiful. That setting style has been one of favorites for 30 years. It’s such a timeless setting. Are you going to be in the city or in a suburb for the wedding? I hope you have a great time with your girlfriends. And have fun in Maryland this weekend. Do you usually see your son and his family when you go Maryland?

@junebug17, That picture is gorgeous. So peaceful looking. Throw in a pool and beach nearby and it really sounds like heaven. I’ve found just having DH home we can have a fun time doing just about anything.

@Scandinavian , Hopefully you had a better day today and there was only minimal damage to the house. I hope you are doing some fun things with your family.

@Tekate , Do you have any idea what you want to do with the kitchen? I’m with you about preferring cooler weather but I think you may feel differently once you live near Autie. As along as you have air conditioning and Autie to spend time with, I think you will be thrilled. You are also going to take trips to visit Chris. What’s not to love?

Marcy, You have a couple years to decide on the next family vacation. Honestly Marcy after some of what you have to deal with at work the family trips don’t sound so bad. At least you can make a mudslide if they start to drive you crazy.

@Austina, Are you happy to be home? When is the cruise scheduled for?

Are you having a great time on your vacation @Slick1?

@av, I have so enjoyed reading your comments in some of the other threads. It always interesting to hear what others think about what is going on here. There there are days I have to wonder what crazy thing will happen next.

Everything is going well. I’m having more tests done next week. The doctor is hoping the new stone is smaller than it appears in the ultra sound. The next test will give them a much clearer picture of what’s going on. Depending on what the test show, I was told they may do a scope typ surgery. Is it’s under 5 mm, they are hoping I pass it on my own. If it’s larger they may either try to break it up, or worse case, I will need a more invasive kidney surgery. My kidney function tests came back good yesterday. I had to laugh, I was told to drink a lot of water so that’s what I have been doing. When the doctor called last night, he said I need to really cut back on the water. Apparently I am drinking too much water. I’m still just really uncomfortable feeling at times but haven’t been in a lot of pain since the pain I had the bad pain night two weeks ago. The doctor assured me his associate is update on all I have and been going thru, if things took a turn for the worse while he is on vacation, I am in good hands. He also said I will probably be seeing a kidney specialist as well when they know exactly what is going. I fell much more comfortable and am not stressing about it. Im sorry to bore everyone with this saga.

Good morning ladies.

@junebug17 thank you Junie for your kind words. I know you are hurting about Zoe. It's a deep hurt like being gut punched. I feel it every single time I think of Francesca. I know how much you miss Zoe. I am so sorry. About printer problems same here. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't and I cannot print from my computer but only my phone. And not all the time. Hope you get that straightened out and glad you got some cleaning done and made it to the gym too. Nice. (((Hugs)))

@Tekate thank you Kate. And yes right back at ya too. That is exactly the reason we did it. I really don't feel like taking care of another cat but we felt compelled to after Francesca died. In her honor. It was a privilege being a momma to Francesca and now it is our privilege trying to make Oliver's life better. He is a rascal though and I don't feel like I have the energy but we will do what we need to. Greg is amazing the way he plays with Oliver and well I am very lucky despite the loss of Francesca and all the health challenges. I know it. But man what I wouldn't do to have some time back with my sweet little girl. And I know you feel the same about Daisy. I am so sorry she wasn't with you long enough. But she was a lucky little girl having you and John. And so is Salley. We give them our hearts and they give us their everything. It isn't even a fair trade. We get so much more from them than we could ever give back. For all the heartache and pain I wouldnt change a thing though occasionally the pain is so intense I rethink that but just for a moment. I know my tag line rings true. Life without animals (for us) isn't worth living. Thank you Kate for saving your babies and giving them the best possible life. If we could just save them all wouldn't that be wonderful. There's a saying let me try to remember it..."Saving one cat won't change the world. But for that one cat, the world will change forever!" Add a dog in that saying too. Saving one animal won't change the world but for that one animal the world will change forever. Amen to that. (((Hugs))) Kate the Great. XOXO

@marcy oh no and thank goodness you found the problem. Glad the employee yesterday behaved herself. That is a relief. Sorry about the traffic to Arby's but hope you enjoyed lunch with your friend. And yes I am with you. Stay clear of that Frontier Day. I hate when tourists flood the town and create traffic and noise and overall chaos. I am such a homebody though so maybe do not listen to me. Sending you hugs.

@Slick1 hey there and good morning. Hope all is well. (((Hugs))).

@Mamabean how are you? Is your excitement building? Hope all is going smoothly. XOXO.

@AV_ how is everything by you? Hope you're having a lovely week. XOXO.

@Scandinavian thinking of you and your mom and sending healing vibes and (((hugs))).

@Calliecake that is wonderful news about your kidney function being normal. Sweet. Soon you will be rid of that pesky stone and hopefully it is smaller than it appears on Ultrasound. No nothing from my endocrinologist. Greg is pissed but I am not. Too tired to be angry. Anyway I am missing Frankie so much nothing really seems that important and sleep remains very elusive. I have been waking before 2:30 AM every morning lately and up for the rest of the day.

We got to cycle yesterday very early before it got too hot. Then in the afternoon went shopping and I got a photo album and put all the Frankie pics in it. The snapfish order arrived yesterday and I put the album together. That was hard. Missing her so much. And finding a photo album wasn't easy either. I guess it is old school having a photo album but I like having physical pics I can look at vs on my computer. I am weird that way I guess. Today is rainy so not sure what we are going to do. Oliver is quite energetic and so far none of the cats seem to want to bother with him but hoping that changes. I am on Greg's computer right now as mine appears to not be working and as soon as Greg wakes up and we give Oliver his meds I will have him look at it. I have photos I want to post lol.

Have a good morning girls. (((Hugs))).

LOL using the photo function on Greg's computer to share a few pics. This is one scary photo Greg took yesterday hahaha.

Screen Shot 2019-07-18 at 4.49.42 AM.png
I assure you his baby teeth are quite sharp. I have the bloody evidence to prove it.

And from our ride yesterday morning.

Have a lovely morning ladies.:wavey:

Good morning! We lost power yesterday so I’m going to pack everyone up and head to Maryland. David will be thrilled he’s playing hooky from work for two days. Thank you for liking my ring...I’m leaving for Chicago Friday of next week and Libby will hopefully come with me! Talk to you all from Maryland! :kiss2:
I can’t stop laughing over Oliver’s tiger face! @missy He is tooooooo cute!

@Calliecake The good doc's may not consider worth it to minimize your pain by taking out a smaller or fragmented stone via surgery - even if it might be pushed out by the kidney with all that hou-ha... Ask them if there is a relatively painless way, and their recommendations may change. (I do this always & almost every time the recommendations change a little or ALLOT)

@missy I hear your writing (!) how Francesca was your most loving cat (and the rest are a wild party!) & I see Oliver well on his way of becomming your ataché .)

@marcy I might have met the twin brother of your officious underling - he could never hold a job... You are a good Boss.

___

I wish I never had to leave this place, but it is becoming likely that I must, so I am half-packed. I'll be kissing the rocks here before leaving, sure enough ,(

This might not belong on this thread (since I haven't done it!) ... but this is not the kind of thing talked about much & I'm going to be impolite about the subject:

WWW - what would you pay for this over the price of gold (that is about 1K - off the cuff) ?

I am finding myself some object to non-worry about!

@missy,
I just wanted to pop in and say that you are an angel for adopting this homeless kitty with a bad eye problem.
I hope all your kitties recover from their recent health issues, and that little Oliver fills the hole in your heart just a little bit.:kiss2:

@av, Thank you for your response. I liked that this doctor doesn’t seem the type who wants to rush into a surgery If it’s not needed. When I was in my twenties I had 2 major surgeries and around 8 laparoscopic surgeries. My body makes a lot of scar tissue and I had problems in my 40’s that were because of the scar tissue.

@missy, it’s not strange that you like photo albums. Its great that we can store photos on the computer and phone but photos albums are great too.

Hello lovelies

Sorry this is going to be a short post, I’m having a bit of a problem with my eyes. The last couple of days they’ve been so itchy, painful and streaming, so I’ve not been online much.

They’re feeling a bit better today, I’ve been putting in lots of eye drops, don’t know whether it was all the dust and heat the other day,

Oliver is a complete snuggle bug @missy, he’s just gorgeous

Sorry not to respond individually, hopefully my eyes will be back to normal tomorrow.

Hope all you lovely NIRDIS are doing well :wavey:

Austina what drops are you using? Itchy sounds like allergies maybe...hope you feel better very soon. Let me know if I can help with advice or anything.

Thank you Stracci. That is very kind of you. Honestly it helps to save the ones who are more difficult to adopt and we are doing it in honor of Francesca just like we did when Billy died. We adopted Francesca and Bobby and then Tommy. All special needs kitties but for Francesca. She was our purrrfect little girl. Thank you for all your good wishes. I so appreciate them. So much. (((Hugs))).

@missy, it’s not strange that you like photo albums. Its great that we can store photos on the computer and phone but photos albums are great too.

Well I thought so originally but after talking with people and looking for an album to buy (they are nowhere lol) I think we are the odd ones out Callie. Where do you buy your photo albums? We found exactly one at Target and none in the other stores we went to in search of the photo albums. I like having them on the computer too but sometimes only a real physical photo scratches that itch for me if you kwim. I regret taking no photos on our honeymoon save one.

Amin!

I need a short (but not too short) summary of the deluge of immaterial images - else, TMI to serve memory even (the past is a foreign country! - & now I can see it in the immense pile of stuff seen & of no importance now)...

digressing

@Calliecake Don't ever say you bore with ANY heath issue you have Callie, we all care and I want to know how you feel, what is going on and what your doc says etc. This is the bestest! group of caring people I have ever met, YOU included. Sounds like your doctor has everything grooving for your stones/andkidney, very glad your kidney function is good, my cousin's wife had tons of stones operated on and taken out a few years ago, she was about 43 when she had it done.

If I said kitchen (which at my age I am not surprised) I meant Master Bath. We shall see if they come today, I want: new tile, new shower door, new mirror(s), new fixtures. I hope they come because a busy place is a good place. John and I think it's 50 50 they will show. When you live in a place that is growing (ala Austin) it's hard to get good help.

@marcy Yup, being a manager can make you burn out. My husband HATED it, he was good as a team leader, but appraisals etc, nope. He left after 6 months and never returned, at IBM (he there then) management paid more than coding so it was a downer, but we survived. Glad your employee was chipper, a decent sign that she listened Marcy. Way way back in the day - married to my ex - I lived in Rhinebeck NY and Rhinebeck had the Dutchess County Fair, OMG not only did I go into hiding, I really was a bitch, cars everywhere, can't get anywhere.. but the fair itself had great food! miss those days in one way, best sausage and pepper hero's I ever had.

@junebug17 I know what you mean, your husband works hard, does well and he is owed a lot for that, but you love your home and life in Jersey.. home is where the heart is my mom always said.. and your heart is with your husband, like mine, so we make our hearts home with them. I love that you go to the gym, wish I did, but again, my mom didn't say this to me often "Laziness! they name is Catherine" she was a tough mom. Hope that all is well in your heart, you and Missy have had sadness and I feel for you, I really do June. You have great kids who love you and VISIT! aren't we lucky. Have a great day lady! xoxo

@missy My most marvelous Missy, wow on Ollie's teeth, pretty danged cool! I so agree with you Missy, our furkids give us MORE, no doubt about it.. Missy, the morning pictures is truly breathtaking, it's gorgeous, thank you for posting it, I felt lifted just looking at it, truly.

I agree about getting a photo album, who would think in our lifetimes that we would store pix on a stupid computer, not me. Frankie is beautiful, Frankie made your heart sing, she gave and gave, now you give back that love to Oliver, TRULY, I cannot think of anything more wonderful to do Missy..love you girl. xoxoxoxo added: Maybe bed, bath, beyond has albums? or the dollar store? xo

@Austina sounds like a scratched cornea to me, I won't bore you with my story about my scrated cornea (it's really funny!) but if so, you should be putting antibiotic drops in your eyes, let us know how you are feeling!!! just noodlin, but Missy is probably right, it's almost impossible to scratch both your cornea's at the same time. xoxoxo

empire.jpg empmenu.jpg

Empire food was great, I ordered Mongolian beef and I wanted beef and noodles, but it was VERY good, John had bowel of noodles and it was HOT and HOT there at Empire because the A/C was broken.. it was to be a 45 minute wait but they got us in but we had to sit RIGHT next to the kitchen, but we being oldsters enjoyed it!

Everyone have an awesome day.

Sending love to you guys.

heck lost power! that stinks in this weather, glad you can move to your other house! we have a generator so if we lose power we can run everything tll the gas tank runs out anyway!

Saw your gorgeous ring on IG this morning Joanne, it's GORGEOUS.

xoxo girl

Good morning! We lost power yesterday so I’m going to pack everyone up and head to Maryland. David will be thrilled he’s playing hooky from work for two days. Thank you for liking my ring...I’m leaving for Chicago Friday of next week and Libby will hopefully come with me! Talk to you all from Maryland! :kiss2:
I can’t stop laughing over Oliver’s tiger face! @missy He is tooooooo cute!

@missy, what a lovely idea to put Francesca's pictures into photo albums. I wonder if a craft store like Joannes or AC Moore might carry them. I have pictures of Zoe on my phone and I want to make prints of them, I feel like I've lost pictures over the years from my phone and computer and I would hate to lose her pics. DS took a lot of pics of her, and I want to make prints of those too. I know you are still grieving for your sweet girl very much. (((Hugs))) Thank you for thinking of me - yes, still hard being without Zoe.

Aw, that Oliver is a cutie! It seems like the other cats don't quite know what to make of him lol. He's like the annoying little brother! I'm sure they'll all adjust...and it sounds like there isn't a lot of fighting, which is great. Wow, that is a gorgeous pic of the sky

@marcy, it's nice that employee was friendly today; it helps when people are calm lol. Oh wow, yes, I can see why the clasp opened, thank goodness you noticed right away. And yay for an uneventful day, they're my favorite kind. I don't blame you a bit for hunkering down during Frontier Days, it sounds like a lot of rigamarole just from the name haha. The only way I comfort myself about events like this is to remind myself that they're good for local businesses. But I still want nothing to do with them lol.

@Calliecake, I'm so glad seeing the doctor helped you feel less stressed and worried. Great news about your kidney function being good! It sounds like this doctor is being thorough so far, and keeping on top of things. And you'll be in good hands when he's away. I'm really hoping this stone is smaller than originally thought. I'm keeping you in my thoughts and hoping you aren't feeling too uncomfortable. And no way is it boring to hear what's going on with you! (((Hugs)))

@Mamabean, oh no to losing power, I'm sorry and I hope you had a safe and easy trip to Maryland. And too funny David is happy to have a little mini-vacation! Fingers crossed you have your ring by the time you leave, you must be dying to see it.

@AV_, oh no, are you definitely moving? I know you are so happy where you live, I would hate for you to have to leave. The pin is lovely, but does seem expensive! I suppose it's pricey due to it being a branded, high-end piece. The retail is 11,000 so I guess it could be considered a bargain. :P2 I am only about an hour's drive from that vendor!

@Austina, I am so sorry your eyes are bothering you! I empathize, I had some kind of eye thing a few years ago and it drove me crazy...having eye issues that don't let up is just awful. I really hope they start getting better soon.

@Tekate, thanks for understanding...been 2 months but I still miss my kitty a lot. Yes, home is where our husbands are! Dh is on board with getting a small place, maybe even a condo, so that I can come up and visit my kids. Hope the reno guy showed up and has some good ideas for you. The food at that restaurant sounds delicious! I'm hungry now :D Glad you enjoyed it, always nice to skip the cooking and cleaning up!

Quiet day here...still tinkering around with the printer, dh will be so impressed if I fix it :D I'm not feeling too confident though...I think we need a new printerhead, which I didn't even know existed until now!

Thinking of you all, and wishing everyone a good night! Xox

@junebug17 I am klinging to this place for dear life, to be sure! I keep working remotely on beyond exotic stuff - which is not something I have expected to last this long (it all sounds so ridiculeous, I do not know what am I to do!)
The pin - I am taken aback to see that old name discounted to half shelf price! The house is famous for surprising engraving & other texturing of their gold work; this piece is very simple for them, I had not expected any signature on it at first sight.

@AV_, yes, it is a very good price for a piece from such a renowned jewelry house! It is absolutely beautiful. You know, you have been working very hard lately...maybe you deserve a little reward? :halo: Or should I say...:evil2:

Hi NIRDI’s!

Callie, I am glad you are feeling better and I hope that new stone is small enough to pass by itself. That is not surprising to be told to drink more water and then to quit drinking so much water. That’s good news your kidney appears to be functioning okay. Wishing you a full and speedy recovery. You are so right even a family vacation is better than work and yes a mudslide sounds fabulous. I may go get one of those this weekend.

Missy, sadly our 10 day rodeo usually triples our local population. We don’t want to go anywhere that week. I’m a homebody too. I think it’s a fabulous idea to put together an album with pictures of Frankie. I like photo albums too; they are just more special. I am sure it was a bittersweet project for you. I have found some nice photo albums at craft stores and Hallmark. Oliver’s teeth do look sharp and I love that picture. Beautiful sunrise photo.

Mamabean, oh no to having no electricity. Glad you can go to Maryland and fun for David getting to play hooky.

AV, I bet there are quite a few twins of my employees out there. I had several of them in class when I was teaching. I hope if you do have to move; it will be someplace you like. The pin is pretty with exquisite detail.

Austina, I hope your eyes get better.

Kate, did they show up to give you an estimate on your master bath today? I don’t blame John one bit for giving up management; I hate appraisals, write-ups and those difficult conversations. I cherish good employees but they have been few and far between and of course have no problem finding another job. I bet the county fair was busy. Marty would be in line with you for sausage and pepper hero’s. Glad you guys enjoyed dinner at the Empire.

Junebug, I know you are missing Zoe; good idea to get prints of her and put in an album. One of those photo books are fun too. Yes, our rodeo is good for local businesses but it sure gets busy around here. We sometimes go down to a free pancake breakfast. They do those 3 days of the week. The Thunderbirds perform every year and I try to watch them but that’s about it. Oh no that you might need a new printer head. Good luck with that.

I am so glad it’s almost Friday. Marty is heading out early for northwest Montana. He is going to a session for a certification for strength training coaching. He picked this spot because he could drive and it probably wouldn’t cost that much. Wrong; it’s near Glacier National Park so the cheapest room he could find was over $200. I thought of going along for the ride since it’s so pretty up there but I had enough fun being on vacation last week.

We had the most fabulous tenderloins for supper; I ordered them from Kansas City Steaks. They were 10 oz and triple trim; I’m ordering more of those. Marty grilled the steaks and make rice pilaf in the microwave; he didn’t put in enough water so the rice was boiled down to hard rocks. He added the rest of the water, stirred and cooked it longer and surprisingly it came back okay. I was a good wife and didn’t say a word.

Take care.
Marcy

@missy, what a lovely idea to put Francesca's pictures into photo albums. I wonder if a craft store like Joannes or AC Moore might carry them. I have pictures of Zoe on my phone and I want to make prints of them, I feel like I've lost pictures over the years from my phone and computer and I would hate to lose her pics. DS took a lot of pics of her, and I want to make prints of those too. I know you are still grieving for your sweet girl very much. (((Hugs))) Thank you for thinking of me - yes, still hard being without Zoe.

Thanks Junie. We tried 4 stores yesterday lol and none had them. Those are great suggestions but what I did when we got back home was to order two on Amazon. What doesn't Amazon have lol. Costco might have something too but we didn't feel like going there yesterday as we have been there twice already this week. I also did find a photo album in Target the other day that I bought but don't love. I will keep you posted re the Amazon purchase when it arrives here tomorrow. It would be great for you to take your Zoe pics and make a beautiful album of her life with you. It is so hard missing our little babies. It brings me comfort knowing how much you and I adored and cherished them and maybe just maybe they are together playing happily at Rainbow Bridge. That is one fantasy I will allow myself. Sending you hugs and love dear Junie. (((Hugs))).
And lol I never heard of a printer head either. Hope you got it fixed Junie.
What are your weekend plans during this heat wave?

@missy My most marvelous Missy, wow on Ollie's teeth, pretty danged cool! I so agree with you Missy, our furkids give us MORE, no doubt about it.. Missy, the morning pictures is truly breathtaking, it's gorgeous, thank you for posting it, I felt lifted just looking at it, truly.

I agree about getting a photo album, who would think in our lifetimes that we would store pix on a stupid computer, not me. Frankie is beautiful, Frankie made your heart sing, she gave and gave, now you give back that love to Oliver, TRULY, I cannot think of anything more wonderful to do Missy..love you girl. xoxoxoxo added: Maybe bed, bath, beyond has albums? or the dollar store? xo

Great suggestions Kate the Great. We went to BB&B but guess what? No albums. Crazy right? I ordered two (one in pink and one in blue) from Amazon and I hope they are nice. I also bought one at Target the other day that I filled with her photos but I want another for Brooklyn. Two homes makes everything twice as complicated. But I do want to be able to look at the album of her no matter if we are at the beach or in Brooklyn. What can I say?

Empire food was great, I ordered Mongolian beef and I wanted beef and noodles, but it was VERY good, John had bowel of noodles and it was HOT and HOT there at Empire because the A/C was broken.. it was to be a 45 minute wait but they got us in but we had to sit RIGHT next to the kitchen, but we being oldsters enjoyed it!

Yummy! Glad you enjoyed the food but oh no to AC being broken. That is a concern for me right now as the next few days the heat index will be over 100 degrees F. And air quality very poor so praying the AC holds. Which brings me to @Mamabean

Oh no @Mamabean to your power going out and thank goodness you were able to get away to your home with power. Whew. Sweet relief.
How are you doing? What are your weekend plans?

@Slick1 good morning. What is on your agenda this weekend? Hope you are staying comfy and cool.

@Austina how are your eyes feeling this morning?

@Calliecake how are you feeling?

You are a great wife Marcy. Lucky Marty as I bet Montana is cool now. Yes I guess you did have enough fun being on vacation last week but well if it is as hot by you as by us I would probably join Marty. But perhaps your weather is (most likely) better than ours this weekend. Hope Marty has good strength training session. And a nice drive. Yes it was bittersweet putting together that photo album. Greg didn't even want to look at it but I asked him to and so he did and we reminisced about her but it is too painful for us still. She was such a special soul. I don't like to use past tense when talking about her. She is a special soul. We love her still and will always love her.

It can be best to worry about that kind of thing vs issues that are more challenging and concerning. Allow yourself some frivolity. We all need it dear AV.

Every once in a while dreams like this turn up on my way, ripe for the picking.

Dreams make life worthwhile.:halo:

Good morning @canuk-gal hope you are looking forward to a lovely weekend.

We cycled yesterday morning and it was surprisingly nice out. It remained overcast til we got back home thankfully keeping our temps down. No such luck for the next few days at least. Off for a very short early morning bike ride as the heat index is reaching 100 this afternoon. By Noon. Yup. So we are off very soon and it will be a very short (for us) ride today. Not sure we will be able to cycle at all this weekend either. These temps are dangerous. Leaving you with a sweet Oliver photo. I have many more of these haha but we are off and will share later.

oliversosweet.png

Haha and a quick bling shot with Ollie. LOL gotta get Bubbalah in there right?

Have a good morning girls and stay cool.:sun: (((Hugs))).

@missy I am smiling at your pictures of Ollie, every sensation of cuddling a young cat comming back to the tips of my fingers ,) (soft sharp bites & tentative pawing & the impossible twists they can do! - might recall kitten claws too, a very rare sight... since nobody seemed to use them intently - kittens are born polite!)

Today is slipping from under me somehow - just as well that this is a Friday.

re. pin - from the huge collection of B. signed flower pins around I am getting a good feel of what I would wear & want enough to make happen one way or another; I tend to get too involved with the objects I have any feeling for - the pleasure is in exagerating this to High Heaven & back!

Good morning from Maryland! I was so hot and exhausted yesterday from driving and then going out to food shop in the heat. We have tons of stairs getting into this house and lugging those groceries up and down the stairs was too much in this heat....I thought David and I would have a heart attack. We had to take showers again when we were done to cool off...It’s going to be another scorcher today...I hate the heat! I would stay in today but I forgot to buy dog treats for Bailey. He is spoiled rotten because he gets a treat for tinkling and pooping, eating his breakfast, dinner, etc. If he does anything he expects one..He will sit in front of me with a look that says, “ Mom! I’m here to collect my treat”! I created a monster...I panic when I’m running low on them...I went shopping yesterday but I forgot to buy them...:wall:
@Austina I hope your eyes feel better today. It was weird but we all had trouble with our eyes the last few days..feeling scratchy like something was in it..Can your eyes dry out from the heat?
@missy I love all the pics of Ollie...I especially love his little tiger face one with his sweet white baby teeth...He’s so precious...His eye is looking so much better...He has such soft looking fur...too adorable..
I’ve been meaning to comment on the view from the back of your house...It is amazing....Was that Tommy on the top of your couch? The room color matches with the ocean and the white furniture...and rugs are stunning...
@AV_ Oh no that you have to move! When will this happen?
@Tekate I died laughing when I read John had a “bowel of noodles” for his lunch. I can’t tell you how many times my texts say the funniest things because of autocorrect. When Scott first dated Allie I sent her a text that autocorrected to a fowl word. She about died laughing..I was mortified..but now she’s used to it!
I hope the decorator got back to you. I remember you saying you really liked her..I would be ticked off too. I can’t get anyone to either call me back or come for the leak. We have it narrowed down to where it’s coming from but it’s too small of a job for many contractors. They will pass me up and go for the big jobs...I think you are doing the right thing updating your bathroom before moving...Kitchens and bathrooms sell a house...My bathrooms need updating but my husband doesn’t agree. I redid my kitchen when we moved in..and it still looks new so that will have to do...
@marcy I love my husband but I sometimes need time by myself...I probably would stay home too unless he looked disappointed I was staying home...
The tenderloins sound delicious. I have to clean my grill..My husband doesn’t grill or cook at all...That was funny Marty cooked the pilaf to rocks...I’m glad he was able to add water and save it. You are a great wife for not saying anything...I would be so happy my husband attempted to cook I would have chewed it when it was still like rocks..
I was going back to look at old posts of right hand rings and saw you have an emerald cut that you wear on your right hand. Do you still have it? It’s gorgeous! I’m liking emerald cuts more and more lately..
@junebug17 I know it hasn’t been long since Zoe passed..so it still hurts a lot. It took me two years to say Gordie’s name without crying a river. I really love the idea of a photo album. I have so many photos of Jackson but I have to go into my phone to see them. I’m going to do the same thing. My daughter-in-law made me an album of their wedding..I loved that gift so much..I keep it on my ottoman/coffee table in the living room and look through it a lot.
@Calliecake I’m happy your doctor was able to make you feel less nervous...and that your kidney function is good. Do you drink a lot of tea? My friend got horrible stones from drinking gallons of ice tea. Just a thought...
@canuk-gal :wavey:I hope you are doing well..What are you doing for fun lately?
@Scandinavian How is your mom doing? Any progress on your house? You sound like such a dog lover..Do you have two? I seem to remember seeing a beautiful photo of two dogs walking in snow that you posted....It looked so serene and beautiful..
@mrs-b I hope you are doing well...What a relief your results were what we all were hoping for..I hope you come on here and share what you are doing...I’m doing a brunch for my oldest son and girlfriend at my Maryland house next month. We only met her one time..Chris says she is the love of his life..and wants her to get to know us better..They are staying over here at the Maryland house on Saturday and leaving after brunch on Sunday. I usually do quiche, bacon and sausage or ham, fruit, cheese..when I do it for friends. They don’t eat too much bread but I don’t know what she likes so probably will add muffins and croissants..They don’t drink so no mimosas which I usually add...Any other suggestions?
My ring won’t be here by Monday...:cry2:I asked David to do an appraisal so I can fax it to my insurance company. It has the same diamonds so I’m hoping I don’t have to have another formal appraisal and that my insurance company will take the one he does. I did ask him to add the dimensions and carat weights so they can see they are the same..I also sent him a copy of the appraisal that was done last year. He hasn’t emailed me so I’m thinking he’s working on it...There’s a bit of a time crunch because I’m leaving next Friday for Chicago..and I would like to wear it..I can wear something else but I miss Libby..formerly known as Lentil. I love that the new setting lets me see her at all angles. That other setting just covered up her sides..She looks like a clear drop of water from the sides which is how she was in her other six prong setting. I know I’ll be happy. I’m a little nervous about the milgrain but it shouldn’t look so prominent in person.
Have a nice cool day today!
