Now I really did it :((

@Austina I saw your post after I posted! I'm glad you are not in lockdown in St Lucia, although it's a beautiful place to be in lockdown. Mike was at our local HEB in Cedar Park Austina and he said it reminded him of a release for a new Nintendo! or a coveted game, so so many people waiting to get into HEB, he got us just about everything we needed but HEB was out of Peanut butter for our Salley, it's organic, no sugar, smooth, so we will have to hold back on that! we purchased doggie dental chews last week and 5lbs of sugar at Costco! and chicken etc to tide us over a week ago.. it's a frenzy here. Good news to be able to reschedule flights and rebook, I sure hope that Sandals (it was Sandals right?) does not go out of business! take care and hope to see you in May! xoxoxoxo

Hi Friends! Happy Monday!
@junebug17 I love your ring!! It's brightened my mood the last few days. I would love to know more about it and see more pics:bigsmile:
@missy I am thinking about our NYC girl! I spent much of my life too thin and now prefer to carry a bit more and feel so much better. I hear your words and send you hugs. You and Greg are always so upbeat! Glad he is recovering soo well. Hope you're wearing some fun leggings and having a great day!
@Tekate Hope all is well in TX! Glad you're getting your groceries delivered - smart! I wish I was closer to my parents to be able to do that but they eat all meals out anyway lol!
@Austina I'm so sorry your trip was cancelled. You'll be able to go again and I'm sure they will pull out all the stops when you do get to go!
@marcy I too was thinking about your husband and his job. Hopefully you're both stable. FYI, costco has a diamond pendant that's very similar to your whiteflash one https://www.costco.com/round-brilli...kt-white-gold-necklace.product.100143094.html
it's marked down to .97 which usually means lowest price, in case you are looking.
Well I overslept today for first time in years! I messed up setting my alarm and set it for Tuesday instead of Monday. I got in about 40 minutes late and had to reschedule 1 client. My husband txtd that he can't get emails because his VPN is maxed out bc everyone is working from home.
This virus is awful. However, I would LOVE to self quarantine for 2 weeks, well of coarse! I have so much to do from home and I would love the time. So far, I have business as usual. At least I have lighter traffic.
Gotta get back to work.
Hello and hugs to all!

Girls! Omg what a morning we had. I’ll fill you in later suffice to say we had to drive to NJ. It’s freakin surreal here. I have to laugh. Better than the alternative. And all I can say is to those of you in the suburbs you are very fortunate! Much more civilized there than NYC.

@Oh no! I hope everything’s okay! I’m thinking it has something to do with the ferals?

@Mamabean Glad you got everything worked out for your son but I'm sad your hubby won't be with you. That's really sweet you'll watch TV shows together.
@Jimmianne I LOVE your pics - they brighten my day!

Hi everyone, so it looks like in the UK we are going to face increased social distancing measures now in line with other countries.

Hope everyone is ok. Can I also say as a relative newcomer here I really appreciate my fellow PS'ers and the news, banter etc. Let's keep each other buoyed up. We can do this folks! x

It was inevitable @Niffler75, and if it gets the situation under control, then we need to just lump it and carry on. There will be ‘the other side’, we just have to wait till we get there. I think it’s wise not to watch the news too often, yes, keep informed, but if it makes you anxious, then it’s best not to listen to too much doom and gloom.

@Austina Wise words! I think it's easy to get caught up in the media releases and feel like you are poised waiting for the next piece of news to break!
Take care x

@missy I was reading the news (after two days of locking them) seeing all sorts of [ ,( ] from NY and NYC, then, opened NIRDI to ask if you were thinking of leaving! I am so happy & relieved that you could! Fingers crossed!

@Tekate I'll admit that having the world tell me 'stay in & write' is very much as good as it gets ,) [not thrilled with the reason ,( .] Last Thursday I promissed to get two new drafts done, and they are reising as fast as my surdough for tomorrow [it must be obvious that my favorite office is the kitchen, just in this house].

Long day, over with

@Jimmianne such gorgeous photos! Thank you--with those, who needs a vacation?:mrgreen2:
@Tekate be well!!!!!!!
@Mamabean your strength is amazing! Stay well!!!

We have a bright lovely blue clouless sky day--out for a walk! Glorious fresh air! Paths kinda deserted We LOL cuz we saw two girls sunbathing (yes bathing suits) in the snow! I don't think it is more than 4C here…..

We are dealing with our city lockdown as best as possible--keep calm and handwash on!

cheers--Sharon

@Oh no! I hope everything’s okay! I’m thinking it has something to do with the ferals?

Nothing to do with the ferals this time. The morning was surreal. Greg had an 8AM CC and I had a one PM PT appointment so we decided we would go to Costco after his CC and before my PT session. NO problem right? Plenty of time right? Nope. Got to Costco and Greg dropped me off while he looked for parking. But we didn't realize there was a line to get into Costco. A line that quadrupled and snaked around the entire block. A line that would take at least 2 hours to get into the store. So I called Greg hoping to get him back so we could just abort and leave. But Greg's phone was not working and the line kept going dead. Oh boy. No clue where he was in this huge arena of Costco parking lot. So I texted him let's leave and headed to the end of the line while I waited since I had no clue if he was getting that message since his phone wasn't working.

It took me quite some time to reach the end of the line and people around me were not happy. Not smiling. And staring straight ahead. So I got in line and continued trying to get in touch with Greg. A couple across from me (much closer to the beginning of the line but still an hour away from entry) abandoned their cart and left the line. They left their cart blocking everyone behind them. She looked like she was about to cry when she left. I mean the stress was palpable. You could cut it with a knife.

So this woman in front of me started cursing about how could that couple just bleeping do that and leave the cart in the middle of the street blocking everyone. So I said I would take their cart since I didn't take one initially (because there were plenty of carts before the entrance and it didn't make sense to me to roll the cart so many blocks while on line and crowd the streets like everyone else was doing. But to keep the peace I took the cart). In fact the woman who was cursing said let me get it for you (had to turn it around in a tight space) and as she was getting it for me the guy behind the cart started moving up and she snapped at him can you wait a minute while I get this cart for the young lady. LOLOL. Laughing because it beats the alternative. And I said let's all keep calm. We are all going to be OK. Just to break the tension. And it worked somewhat. I saw a few smiles and then I started chatting with some of the people on the line.

Meanwhile there were police and sirens everywhere. It was surreal. Finally Greg reset his phone and called me and I said let's leave and at that moment he found me on line. So we waited a few more minutes and realized this line was going to take HOURS and it was mad inside too. So we left.

I took the cart haha so it wouldn't block anyone and we put it where it needed to be got into our car and drove to NJ Costco! Yup you heard that right. And NJ Costco was a breeze. Everyone was calm enough and civil and we were in and out of the NJ Costco in less than an hour. We probably would have just gotten into Brooklyn at that time haha. So we went straight to PT and I got there early despite our crazy morning. Whew. What a day. And what a long few months plus this is going to be. It's not even at the height of the pandemic yet.

@missy Good morning Missy the magnificent! thank you Missy so much for your kind and caring words. I am glad Greg is swelling up for overwork, he's the kind of man who will go the distance :) I am hoping as @Jimmianne commanded that this is a cold. Mike dropped our groceries off this morning so we are good! How are you feeling? I've been shopping on Amazon, normally I stay out of there since I buy! but heck, as the market goes down I'm doing my best to keep Amazon afloat!

Haha yes we are all doing our best for the economy by spending lots and lots on goods. Glad all is quiet by you. (((HUGS))) and lots of love Great Kate!!!

@Austina so glad you were able to find a stocked supermarket. It's getting difficult here and who knows how that will progress. I am hoping the markets remain well stocked and open so people can get food and water and supplies. I hope everyone stays well. Glad you enjoyed a nice walk. Smart you canceled the trip and now they are going to be on lockdown anyway so it was just the way it was going down. We have never seen something like this before. Stay safe and well. Hugs.

@AV_ we are still in NYC. Just went to NJ to get food. Crazy world. Crazy NYC.

@Mamabean are you OK? How are you doing with your DH being away? Thinking of you and sending you hugs.

@bling_dream19 I a sorry you overslept and were late for work but glad all is well by you. And glad you are at a good weight now. Being too thin can be hard if it is too thin for your body. I know @AV_ is naturally thin and healthy and I thought I was healthy too but now I realize that being this thin wasn't the best for me. I didn't do it on purpose though but that's another story for another day. I worry about all the women I love who haven't checked their DEXA. So once again I make a plea. After CV outbreak is over please check your bones if you haven't done so recently. Stay well and hugs.

We can do this for sure @Niffler75! Continued good vibes being sent your way and lots of support and hugs. We are all here for each other. (((HUGS))).

OK off to finish the Netflix movie we started last night "Outbreak" LOL a glutton for punishment what can I say. Speaking of punishment PT went OK but it is a lot of money for 30 minutes per session so not sure. And I bet (my prediction) they are all going to close soon anyway due to the pandemic. In the next day or so...

Turns out my balance is pretty good. At least on one foot. Have a great night girls. Sweet dreams.

(Terrible photo Greg took without me knowing (he takes them so I can remember the exercises but the therapist emails them to me and in video format lol so I told him no more PT pics please) but sharing because it has HRH Francesca on the T shirt I am wearing. She is with me all the time.)

@bling_dream19 no printed leggings today but wearing blue. My favorite color.

Screen Shot 2020-03-16 at 7.22.51 PM.png

See you tomorrow girls. (((Hugs))).

Oh boy, what crazy times we're living in right now. Things are ok here, I am coming down with a cold at the moment, runny nose etc. Hubby had the same a day or 2 ago, so it's just his.

It was a beautiful sunny day here yesterday & hubby had a bee in his bonnet. Here in MI, in the winter, every time you go out, your car brings back so much snow, sand etc. It gets clumped behind the wheels. So in the garage, it all arrives when you get home from your travels. We have drainage in our garage. But even with that, the residue left by the tires & melting snow adds up. So its always nice when he hoses out the garage floor. He next decided to clean the windows, all of them. Outside. On the ladder, squeegee in hand. Bless his heart, & it looks great. What a guy. Texted DS with a picture of hubby in action with "Yay, the window guy came today!". LOL

Our state is now up to 53 confirmed cases. Our state Governor shut down schools last week & this am shut down restaurants, bars, movie theaters, gyms, casinos, performances venues, and so forth. We here are on lockdown at this house hold, I suspended my Y membership (I go for the pool access) & canceled my dental cleaning but kept my annual in April. My trainer & I are going to take it day by day. At least the equipment is here so I'm not completely stuck.

I am made chicken soup today--so time consuming but one of my favorite meals. The daily 'As The World Turns' from Costco from DS have been interesting to say the least. Wild times. I told him as soon as he gets a homework assignment, to get it done immediately in case he gets sick etc. He's too close to graduation right now to take any chances.

@Jimmianne your photos are simply beautiful. What beauty & thank you for sharing it. Yes, the way back machine--if you go--can suck up hours. I love this thread, but honestly, can not keep up, it moves too fast! Glad you got your passport renewed, a relief I'm sure.

@missy I love your newest family addition--and her name, Gracie Francis is perfect. So cute she is & I hope she & Oliver become besties. Fellow OP diagnosed here also...you will make the right decision for treatment, you are a smart cookie--together with your doc you'll figure it out. Am so sorry re your spine involvement. And I just saw your post above, I have been working on Amy post since this morning. You look great, & hope your balance PT is helpful. Sending you (((hugs))).

@Tekate, read you hit a bump in the house building saga, will need to go back further to understand what it was...nonetheless, I hope everything resolves itself soon for you...best wishes during this house building chapter!

@Mamabean I hope things settle down for you, your back & forth sounds exhausting--kudos to you for having the stamina. It does take planning & coordination to adequately stock a household, & I applaud your effort with 2. Hang in there & hope you get to see hubby soon--that's the hardest part I bet.

@Austina I'm sorry your cruise was cancelled, it's disappointing, I know. Maybe take your cruise budget & find another use for it???? I'm sure us NIRDI's could help you think of a few things... :)

@marcy, I hope your sky watching is clear & nice. Soak up that big beautiful expanse & enjoy it for me. I hope your weight lifting is going well.

Sending all the NIRDI's buckets of dust & wishes for good health!

I loved Sharon's close above, so I'll repeat it again, Keep Calm & Hand Wash On!

Good morning girls...this says it all. :(
First time since our pub crawl started in 1977.

Screen Shot 2020-03-17 at 7.17.06 AM.png

My heart is so heavy. Yes it had to be canceled and it took basically a court order to do so lol but reality is hard to take right now. #minimizerisk

@missy Goodness, NY ,( I immagine you can decamp to NJ should you wish.

@sarahb I tend to scrub the house when things get OTT, now, it looks like all the world is doubling down on their scholarly pursuits; I feel like a student before exams, facing the pile. Just as well that it is suddenly cold & there will be storms over the rest of the week, else I'd want to be in the garden; I am quite ashamed to have turned such a whimp during a couple of decades of working out otherwise, that quite a few opps are tough to do - I am no better now then when I was ten ,(]

@marcy Your pictures of sky make me miss flatlands & seeing sunrises and sunsets at the horison, as opposed to 20° or 30° up.

there will be clam risotto on this desk soon enough

Good morning @sarahb what a great DH you have and woohoo on him being window guy. Having clean windows is sweet. I am sorry you have OP too. Looks like I won't get to the lifting of weights before all the PT places close so sadly that might have to be on hold for many months which does cause me anxiety as I am feeling frail and like I might break...and I cannot do weights without supervision to begin because I am not confident as to what is spine safe and what might compromise my spine...

You might have mentioned it but I cannot recall...are you on OP meds and if so can you share what you are taking? Thanks. All this is on hold for me til I can see my rheumatologist and endocrinologist and discuss it with them and who knows when that might be.

Stay well and stay safe and I am thankful for the fact we have each other here and can share and vent and cry and laugh. It is a bright spot during challenging times. Sending you all hugs and love.

@AV_ yummmm clam risotto. Enjoy. XOXO.

I know @AV_ is naturally thin and healthy and I thought I was healthy too but now I realize that being this thin wasn't the best for me. I didn't do it on purpose though

I must be eating way more %&$!?!!¿ that you do - the fridge is a scandal: allot of cured meat & none of it lean (pancetta is running out), shellfish (I tend to buy fish & shelfish often - all that gets here is from the day's catch, two hours away), aged cheeses & some two lbs of sweets (hohaldes - are lard/suggar/flour/'cabello de angel' suggared gourd filling) that shall not last, sauer milk, honney (don't ask why it is in the fridge - habit from frequent ant invasions in summer) & a large box of dark chocolate... These go onto rice, beans & lentils (these are more types around than I know of, after years of trying), pasta, baked potatoes & quite allot of bread baked on the premises; everything gets spiced & herbed to tears. Olive oil is free flowing. When I go to town, I might just pass by a favorite pastry shop & nothing else (first thing to do when they open again!) I do not eat much, but this is what it is; my body does not want to change & yours may not either. I'd wish more strength, as above-mentioned, since pushing a spade through dry ground is apparently harder than anything I ever did as a workout. TMI! This is what I grew up with... so I have never given much thought to food except for going to great length to keep things unchanged through travel & moving countries; many things are missing just for being so much further south, but there are new things to get used to.

too late to hide

Good morning girlfriends...Thank you for checking in me and wishing me a safe trip here to Maryland. I had a really hard time yesterday but feeling much better today...TG I don’t sleep well normally but somehow manage to power through the day. The night before last...the first night I was here...I think I slept one hour. When you’re as sleep deprived as I am...add stress...my husband left yesterday morning...I could barely make it through the day. I was dragging...didn’t feel well...and it hit me that I wouldn’t see my husband, sons, daughter-in-law, and Jackson for a long time...I know Scott and Allie will FaceTime me..Chris has a different phone...not Apple...so he will have to help me figure out how to make it work..I went to bed at 8 last night but as usual couldn’t fall asleep for around an hour and a half..but finally did..TG I feel better this morning....
@missy Your ordeal at Costco sounds like a nightmare. That’s crazy you had to drive to the Costco in New Jersey to get your supplies!
That’s sad about your Pub Crawl being cancelled. I worry about all the businesses that will go under now that they are being forced to close...
Gracie is so precious...I’m so happy you decided to keep her...I hope that Oliver and Gracie become best friends...
A kitty came to visit me yesterday..She watched us through the window. She’s my neighbor’s cat which she keeps overnight in the basement of her house with other cats..In the morning she feeds them and lets them outside...Her husband is badly allergic so it’s the only way to keep them..

@Tekate That‘s great that Mike did your shopping for you guys...I had a talk with Scott last night..He told me because he’s still working and not isolating from that..he will stay away from visiting me. Scott said he’s very careful when he’s out not touching doorknobs, etc..but he heard..as well as I did...that he could be symptomless and bring it to us if he visited. He even went so far as saying when the baby was born he would‘t want me to come to the hospital...We would work something out. That’s three months away. I told him I couldn’t stay away...His response was..We’ll see mom..They took Jackson on trails outside instead of their usual kid places...Old fashion fun..haha
I know you are missing Chris...
Have you tried getting Sallie’s PB on Amazon?
Bailey will only eat wet food and biscuits for treats now. I can’t tell you what a job it was to get all his cans in the house up the stairs..D1EEFD68-7205-4133-A911-225D2FEC3871.jpeg

@canuk-gal I try to be but had a rough patch yesterday...Going for a walk in a blue cloudless sky sounds like heaven..I could do that in Pa without running into too many people..but here in Maryland..it’s too close for comfort. I’ll go in my back yard..It’s relaxing back there so it will work. I could also walk completely around the house for exercise..haha
Sunbathing in the sun doesn’t sound like fun...Brrrr!

Omg you have Oliver. Thank you!!!! :).

Glad you are safe and sound and big hugs to you.

@AV_ I’ll be right over. Yummmmm. XOXO

@Jimmianne thank you for your sage advice. (((Hugs)))

@Niffler75 how are you sweetie? Sending continued good wishes your way. Hugs.

@Slick1 good luck with all your decisions and praying your DD can come home to you. (((Hugs)))

@Scandinavian glad all is ok by you. Take care. Hugs.

@Tekate @Austina @canuk-gal @junebug17 Daisy and everyone hugs

Typing on phone so excuse brevity and typos. Hugs. TTYL

@sarahb Thank you..I don’t have a lot of stamina but I don’t have a choice...haha...
What a hubby! I would love for my husband to clean my windows. The windows in this house are so old and stuck. No one wants to do them..
That’s great you can stay home together...I would love for my husband to do that so I could go home...I miss him and it only just started..
Chicken soup sounds good right now! My mom and I love it..but David doesn’t. I think I’ll make some but give David something else. I also bought bags of dried beans to make soups. It’s satisfying and healthy too...:lickout:

@bling_dream19 It‘s awful when you know you’ve overslept. About a month ago I set my alarm for 5:30 PM instead of AM! David’s bus was pulling up in ten minutes...It was an awful way to start the day..
Your purple spinel and other rings are just so gorgeous. I go back just to look at them..
@Calliecake How exciting that your niece is expecting in August. I hope things will have calmed down by then..My daughter-in-law is due mid June...That’s too close and still in the danger zone..so very scary..
Thank you for always saying such nice encouraging words to me. I can’t tell you how it helps..xxxooo
David feels safe here...He’s been smiling and saying, “You’re keeping me safe.” I think he will eventually get stir crazy..maybe not..but I brought the Match game and Bingo..He loves playing them....
I’m glad they closed your grandniece’s school. Jackson’s daycare is closed too..
Chris is doing well except he missed a urine screening...He overslept..and woke up in a panic. He went to his treatment center to get tested one hour after the other lab closed..Of course it was negative but it wasn’t accepted by the court so now he’s in detention. His treatment center is now in lockdown so I’m hoping he can go back in when he’s finished with his detention. If I had to be tested by a certain time or face detention I would have set my alarm for different times to remind myself...It really is his own fault but I feel bad for him..because he is sober..

@missy I laughed out loud! He does look like Oliver! I can‘t tell if it’s a girl or boy...I’ll see if I can figure it out next time he/she visits..

Well, @Jimmianne is next in line for adopting Oliver but I can mark you next after her.

Hi everyone!
@missy OMG a drive to NJ for supplies. :eek2:How far is that distance wise? I am trying to book some online food deliveries and the next available slots are in 11 days. So my hubby will probably pop out for any essentials at night.
@Mamabean Glad you arrived safely. Sorry you are having probs sleeping. This is such a huge shift in thinking for us all. Had the chat with my son today in the most appropriate way I could. He is ok but now doesn't want to leave the house at all as he is worried i will get ill. ::)
@Jimmianne How are you? So do you have to now write the reasons you want to leave home on a piece of paper if you go out in France? I see things being escalated here too soon.
@Austina i am really sorry about your holiday but it's for the best. Please take care!

My sons home visits with his new teachers have had to be cancelled for now but we are going to keep in touch online. Also getting repeat medication for me means a telephone consultation with my doctor as opposed to going in. Really don't fancy sitting in a waiting room!

Will check in later. Take care everyone! x

Hello lovelies

Just checking in, no real news, other than we’re still alive! :D

I know how you feel @Mamabean, it looks like if this goes on for several more months, we won’t be able to visit Adam and Kim at all this year, so it’ll be a year since we last saw them. We just have to accept it, I think in some ways, it’s harder for him because he’s worrying about us being here on our own. Glad you’re ok, and I think this is the only time that I actually feel grateful we don’t have our darling Dottie, because I’d be worried about getting her enough food.

Honestly @missy, what the hell is wrong with people? We’d like to think that a national (& international) situation would bring out the best in people, but it seems to be the reverse. It sounds like the day from hell having to deal with the crazies at Costco. Glad you managed to get supplies and back home without further incident. Sorry to be macabre, but on seeing the notice I thought Dead On Arrival :lol: We’re watching the new Fox series of War of the Worlds, pretty grim, but hey ho.

Yep, we’re concerned about Sandals surviving this too @Tekate because we’re talking about a lot of money, but we always pay by CC for the protection, so hopefully we’ll get the money back in the event we have to claim. Glad your son got your shopping. Adam went to HEB at Lakeway and said people were queuing before it opened, they were limiting the amount people could buy, which is a good thing, but he’s got them stocked up for 2 weeks, as they’re self isolating as a precaution. He’s in robust health, but Kim has some issues. He went wearing a mask, got home, took his clothes off in the garage, put them straight in the washer, and then wiped down everything he bought before putting it away. Somewhat overkill, but it makes him feel better, he even shaved off his beard yesterday, which I’m thrilled about.

Thanks @sarahb, our cruise was cancelled last year, so this was the rescheduled holiday - talked about a jinx, someone really didn’t want us to go away! Continuing to wish you good health, keep safe.

Easily done @bling_dream19, could you work from home if you had to?

Eat whatever you can to keep your strength up @AV_ who cares about healthy eating now anyway ;-)

How’re things with you @marcy, has your part of the world gone mad too with their panic stockpiling?

I hope you’re feeling less anxious @Niffler75, honestly, it’s perfectly normal when you have young children, things you didn’t worry about before, suddenly seem much more real and frightening. Take care sweetie, we’re all here.

We’ve just been out for a long walk, and didn’t really see anyone until we were almost home, and we asked the tree surgeon who was next door to stand at least 2 metres away whilst we passed.

Sending good thoughts to all the lovely NIRDIs, and wishing you all good health :wavey:;-)

Lol I wish I could write down for the police all the reasons I want to leave my house. It would be a novel. What’s happening now is not quite what I had in mind for a vacation :-)
What they gave us is a form letter. You have to check off each box and sign that you understand what each thing means and agree to it.
Things like ...only leaving the house for food...only walking near your own house.
Then you have to write your exact address and your birthday.

I guess If they find me wandering too far from home, they’ll figure out my age and assume I’m just a harmless demented elder. That’s gotten me out of a jam with the police here before. Two minutes of talking to me at a driver’s license checkpoint last year and they sent me on my way shaking their heads. The are really quite nice to clueless old ladies. The secret is to act as clueless as possible .
But this time if they catch you too far from your house you get a fine.

I saw that @Jimmianne, they showed a woman on the news being stopped and questioned by the Police wondering why she was out.

I suppose drastic times call for drastic measures. Stay safe and healthy.
