About that ring...the saga does go on. TheRealReal said the ring was on its way back to the States, so they gave me a refund.
But the same day, the courier in France said they already had the ring to put through customs! TheRealReal is a confused, confusing company.
When I actually have the ring in hand I will deal with TheRealReal. I think they should pay for the additional shipping charges. We shall see.

We had such a wonderful ride yesterday. Perfect weather, cool ocean breeze and yummy ice cream and lots of wildlife too. Couldn't ask for a better day. Which is good because today is not a cycling day. Later this afternoon/evening Greg has a dental appointment to fix a filling that broke. But we have the afternoon to do something just not sure what yet. This morning is filled with chores we have to get done first though.


Ice cream. I had to get a large yesterday and oh it was so gooooood. @Scandinavian a large. And I wanted more when I finished it haha. I am a glutton when it comes to ice cream.



And I got a Blue Heron in flight. So graceful and gorgeous.

Hello lovelies

Technically, we’re ‘cruising’ to the Isle of Wight on the Red Funnel ferry, it takes about 60 minutes from Portsmouth. We’ll be going on the Monday, and coming home on the Thursday, we’re going to visit Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s holiday home and generally just have a look around and enjoy being away for a few days. The cruise around Australia starts in Singapore, so we’re going there for a few days before the cruise, as Sue & Rob have never been, then after the cruise, we’re going to stay in Sydney for a few days. We’ve been before, but Sue & Rob haven’t, so it’ll be fun. Hope your PT is going well and getting easier and less painful.

Good grief @Jimmianne, the thick plottens! Do you think you’ll actually get the ring? Definitely deduct any costs you’ve incurred from money you return to them, it’s still no compensation for the amount of aggravation they’ve caused you.

We’re sharing the same weather @missy, it’s rained non stop today, the garden is loving it and it’s doing the new grass seeds no end of good. Not so great for us, as we were going to go out, but decided to stay in and go tomorrow when it’s supposed to be dry. The alarm guy came this morning and was here until lunchtime, we now have a functioning alarm, although it’s still not attached to the monitoring station, that’s another visit. I hope Greg managed to get his broken filling taken care of. I keep looking for the scar on his knee, but it’s looks like it’s healed really well. Your weather yesterday looks perfect and the pictures of the beach are amazing, doesn’t look like it’s too crowded. Hopefully your parents will be able to visit soon.

This weather is feast or famine isn’t it @Niffler75, it’s great that it’s cooler, and we needed some rain, but I’m ready for it to stop now

I worked most of Friday night and Saturday morning. Then I got all of my chores done Saturday since my sister and BIL were coming to visit on Sunday. It was a fun day. I worked at home today and just got my lifting done. Off to read.

IDK and LOL. Not funny actually but since no one was physically hurt I am relieved. Look at this poor house. And the poor family moved in just this past Monday. But they are A OK. And that is what matters. But sheesh. I feel for them





How is work going? Please remember to take a visual break from the computer screen every 10 minutes or so for at least 10 seconds. Look away and refocus for far. That will help alleviate the visual stress. My sweet friend do not work too hard. Any weekend plans? It's already Thursday woohoo. Thanks for enjoying my seahorse dress. I hope your weather is improving @Austina. Today is predicted to be a perfect weather day and we are so ready for it after yesterday's storm. I am relieved for you that your alarm is functioning once again and hopefully it will soon be attached to the monitoring system. Greg's scar looks pretty good I agree. He is back to normal knee wise but now wants to do the other knee. I told him I am not ready for that yet lol. We have to wait til after his kidney stones and pandemic are well over. And then we can consider it. I need some peace if you kwim and hoping we can wait on that other knee. How is your knee doing? Have you had your eval yet? I hope you are feeling OK and managing until you are able to get it fixed so to speak. Would PT help at all? So yesterday after the tornado (and after losing power four times within 30 minutes tho yes the generator kept going on whew) we ran errands and I also stopped by WP and got 2 new pairs of glasses. One pair of eyeglasses and another pair of sunglasses. Too many now to count but I love mixing and matching. Not sure the sunglasses are going to work out for me as it might just be too big even for me. It was challenging evaluating it with a mask and I didn't want to take it off for more than a quick moment so we shall see. Then we went to TJ and Dean's organic market (got more ice cream haha) and Costco. Then Greg went to our friend the dentist and I just relaxed at home and before we knew it time for bed. I didn't sleep very long though but eh that's OK. Whatcha gonna do?

@missy ohhhh Bubbalah.. oh gosh, stars, twinkle, color, I seriously could look at that stone allllll day.. it's gorgeous... there is nothing like an OEC, nothing.. the pinks, blues, reds.. yellows, fire.. well I'm on fire looking at that ring.. The herons! so lovely, we used to go to Duck Beach when we lived in the NE back in the day.. herons were everywhere but boy that place become really crowded! Everyone should look at Missy's pictures for a chill pill that is all I can say, they make me feel like I had a good nights sleep.. refreshed and serene! Ty sweetie!!!!! Chris didn't mention anything yesterday, he called ME! i love when either or both son's call me instead of me calling them.. he's all into buying some type of income property.. oh to be almost 29 again! I’m glad to hear that his knee is feeling normal now, it hasn’t been that long, so that’s really good news. I’m not surprised he wants to get the other one sorted out, but totally understand your reluctance to have to deal with hospitals at the moment. My consult is on the 3rd September, same day as the other ortho appt. Took a big gulp, and paid for the Invisalign yesterday

Had another issue today, our exterior cameras went offline this morning, and we did everything suggested to get them up, it kept saying it was our internet, which we knew it wasn’t, as everything else was working fine. Colin finally got someone from their tech department to phone, and much as I thought, they needed to to an upgrade before the system would work, it’s all sorted now thank goodness.

We went in to town as I had parcels to send off, winning lots for people for the Spinone Overseas for Adoption (SOFA), hopefully we’re on target to raise over 10,000 in only 4 weeks. I buy little things I see on the jewellery channel website and people are always really generous. We then decided to have lunch while we were shopping, and sat outside and enjoyed our lunch. It’s been a lovely warm day here and no rain!

@Austina it is fun to look at granite and backsplash. Plus those places usually have good diamond lights. Work has not been fun; I often chant “I love my Porsche, I love my Porsche” to keep me going. Not much going on today other than work. I did get 2 batches of laundry done as well. Marty was here until about 2 pm today so we had stuff cooked on the grill for lunch and raw veggies. He has been waiting for his new barbell since March sometime and it finally showed up today. Of course he’d already left for the gym then we had a bout of heavy rain so the tube got soaked before he came back to get it. It was fine though because it was in a heavy plastic bag.

We had a fire south of town but they got it out in about an hour. We sure need rain around here. Smoke from assorted fires is bad.

I started a new art project after visiting a mosaic glass warehouse, and thought of you while working on my first piece. A highly recommended pastime. Are you finding time for art these days?

My DD and I did a photo shoot last night. She asked me to look more enthusiastic about the sunset...

We went to an outdoor restaurant for dinner, and then walked to an outdoor winebar for a lemon popsicle. It was magical to sit under an umbrella, in the rain, in the dark with little fairy lights, and eating a delicious treat.

@marcy glad you got to work from home the past 2 days and hope today goes OK in the office. Glad Marty got his barbells. My weight machine delivery is delayed (I knew it would be) as the business owner hasn't yet received it as he was supposed to so now we are hoping it comes in to his store next week. But I am not holding my breath. In the meantime I work out with free weights and kettlebells and my Pilates Reformer. Just doing the best I can. It is all any of us can do. I hope you get your new glasses soon. When were they supposed to arrive and when do you expect them? My new glasses aren't due in til September something. Everything takes longer due to Covid. Ugh to the fire south of town but glad they got it contained. Stay well and safe and sending you hugs.

banging headache and upset stomach. And we have had stormy weather today! So I feel a bit like a zombie.

Love the sound of all your choices @Bayek, I do like grey, but I think white is the better choice, because any colour does ultimately date, whereas white is classic and timeless. You can always have grey accents (or any colour come to that) and change them easily to give you a whole new look. I really like white granite with grey lines, not too many, just enough to add some interest. I just know we’re gonna end up with dark wood with a busy beige/brown granite Hope the PT goes well, battle through it’ll be worth it in the end.

Oh phooey to your new weight machine being delayed @missy, this virus has a lot to answer for. I hope the weather was perfect for you to ride today, and of course eat lots of ice cream. Glad that everything is good with Greg. How’s Ollie’s paw, is it all better now?

Oh no to the fire @marcy, there was a big one here last week where we’ve been walking with Sue & Rob in the past. They could smell the smoke from their place, fortunately we’re a bit further away. I hope you had an easier work day today, and that you don’t get bothered over the weekend. Life is feeling somewhat normal here, it really does help that we can go out and about again.

I don’t know if I mentioned that our neighbours are having work done at their place so we’ve said they can use our drive during the day for their cars. We’re honestly not finding the noise that bothersome, it’s only for a short time while their old conservatory is being demolished and new foundations dug. We went out shopping this afternoon, and when we got back, their daughter came round and left some cupcakes on the doorstep with a note saying sorry about all the noise Of course we had to have one immediately with a cup of tea, and it was delicious

Colin’s got a nurse coming in the morning to draw blood, just for general tests and the PSA test, so we’ll have to be up early


No plans for the weekend here, probably more lawn prep and grass seed laying, then trying to find way to keep those pesky wood pigeons off, who seem to think we’ve laid on an all you can eat, all day buffet for them!

And on our way home while we were in Sandy Hook (where we often go at the end of our ride just to enjoy a few more miles if we have the energy) I got the burning foot thing (happens after 5 plus hours on the bike lol) so we stopped so I could walk it off. And Greg took a video so lol here is a still from the video. Please excuse the goofy face. Just wanted to show how beautiful the skies were yesterday. Picture perfect. With the exception of me being in the photo that is. You can see my socks through the cycling pants because my legs were wet (from me spring water on them the entire ride) to keep my Schamberg disease calm (keeping behind the knees dry because the eczema continues to be a problem) and wet cycling pants are sort of see through when wet. But all the important parts were covered if you kwim.
