Now I really did it :((

Hi NIRDI’s!

@Scandinavian glad you are only getting rain. We seem to have plenty of that cold, white stuff around here.

@Bayek I hate to hear you fell and got hurt but I am glad it wasn’t worse. Your house is GORGEOUS!!! Phooey it cost more than expected. How exciting to be moving in soon. We closed on our house on Dec. 22nd and started moving that day; so it’s a good time of year to get a new house. Auti has grown again but still remains a super cutie!

@missy wow to how many miles you put in cycling this year. That is impressive. Your snow storm sounds worse than the one we just had. Stay safe but you have wonderful, stylish boots for it. I hope your lifting went well. I plan on inching my weights up over the next few months. I know you don’t sleep any more than Marty; I feel bad for both of you. I don’t nap but I can usually sleep most nights.

@MMtwo yay for getting new earrings. Jewelry can always brighten the day. I hope your son can find the perfect job and it’s nice he can take some time to look for one. I am glad you can visit with your daughter and she is close by. That’s good your niece has a mild case of COVID. Oh no to a snow storm moving in there; that sounds familiar.

@Austina you certainly did do more painting; but I get it once your start on something you may as well finish it. Rest up till next year now. Nice that Breakfast has a winter coat; he does kind of have some pit bull features. Marty ripped his winter coat and was going to order a new one but I went shopping for him in our back bedroom closet and brought him out an almost new XLT from Lands End. He was like where did you get this? It was one he outgrew at one time and hardly wore it; luckily I never gave it away. I have assorted sizes back there in coats for both of us. Hopefully the bigger sizes never get pulled out.

@MJ_Mac hoping 2021 is a way better year for everyone.

@MamaBee you did have a crazy day. I hope your Mom and Bailey’s tests come out okay. Happy 95th Birthday to your Mom. That is amazing. I always am amazed thinking about the history and things people have lived through over the decades. Nice to plan on delivering packages too.

@SallyBrown I hope the forces that be can agree on a surgery date for you; just get it done, right? I hope you sweet puppy has positive results from her new medication.

Marty had his doctor appointment today. He and the doctor agreed since right now he has no pain when benching to wait and see what happens. Even if he waits a few years the doctor doesn’t see the injury getting worse.

I am anxious to get my new ring. No shipping notice yet but it was expected to deliver Thursday. I made up my annual kind of goofy Christmas card for Whiteflash. I put on it "Merry Christmas to Whiteflash" Then had "all that glitters is not gold, but enjoying my ACA diamonds never gets old". Then I put pictures of my WF jewelry under our Christmas tree.

I did all sorts of little projects at work today so the day zipped by. I save those little things when I am in the office so that worked well to get that done. After work I drove around the neighborhood looking at Christmas lights. We got about 6-8 inches snow (with drifts it is always hard to tell) but the side streets are a disaster. Our city lost so most revenue from shutdowns they already announced they are only going to plow main streets so I’m glad my little German car can laugh at the snow (knock on wood).

I may be wheeling and dealing for an upgraded EC ruby. The lady I chatted with for my sapphire ring found me 2 different 5 x 7 EC rubies I could trade up for; right now the one I have is a 6 x 4. Sadly, my ruby is old enough prices have really jumped but I could trade my current ruby and my RB sapphire towards it and only owe about $165 more. I am pretty tempted. That RB sapphire just isn't my favorite anymore; I hardly wear it. If my new oval is as pretty as I hope then I might just go ahead and upgrade. Good thing Marty doesn't want to kill me when I toy with these ideas.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls! It's happy (I hope) Tuesday. It's a very cold and very windy Tuesday morning by us. The winds are howling and it is definitely a pre storm feeling here.

@marcy thanks. Lifting went well. I increased the weights with some of my exercises and am going carefully. I cannot wait for you to get your ring either and yay for a good doctor visit for Marty. That is sweet. Nice you got to enjoy some Christmas lights after work yesterday. Keep us posted on your possible EC ruby upgrade. That is very exciting and sounds like a good deal too. Marty would never be mad enough to kill you lol. Hugs to you dear Marcy. Hope today is a good day for you.

@mrs-b how is your week going? How are you feeling? Continued well wishes and love being sent your way. And big hugs.

@SallyBrown how is your pup doing? I hope the treatment goes well. Keeping you both in my thoughts. Hugs.

@MamaBee you certainly were busy yesterday but how great you took care of all of that with your loved ones and now you can (I hope) relax. Have a safe trip to your other house and sending you big hugs.

@Austina Breakfast is such a love. A handsome boy.

Happy birthday @MarionC. XOXO

@Bayek girl, you have been through a lot but you are almost there. Hang on. Auti is so precious. OMG. Please give her a big hug from me. Your house looks beautiful. Nice work. I am sorry it went over budget. I hear you on the stress of building a home. And hopefully this is it for you. You accomplished a lot and should be proud. Love you. Hugs.

@MMtwo how is your sweet niece doing? Keeping good thoughts for all of you. XOXO.

@Slick1 I said it before and will say it again your DD is a reflection of you. You done good momma. Real good. Love you. Hugs.

@MJ_Mac hey there, how is your DH doing? Hugs to you.

@springerspaniel hope you are enjoying a good week and can get the Covid vaccination soon. They are starting to administer it to healthcare workers this morning. Woohoo.

@Scandinavian our snow is coming and it is going to be substantial. I am (I hope) ready lol. I still don't have my warmest winter coat here unfortunately but I will make do. Hugs to you.

@canuk-gal OK our weather is becoming cold and snowy and I know you can relate. No more cycling for a while for us. I hope your week is going well and that you can manage some outdoor activities. Do you know when the Covid vaccine will be rolled out by you or has that already began? Hugs to you sweet Sharon. XOXO.

Hi to everyone else. Today we see the surgeon in the city. I am nervous because if there is one thing I have learned it's expect the unexpected. I have no illusions that the surgeon is going to do anything substantial today. But we see him for the initial and then hopefully can schedule a biopsy in the not too far future. But even that I am prepared not to happen. So we shall see. Hoping for the best but not expecting anything.

Sending you all lots of good wishes and hugs. Have a wonderful Tuesday lovely ladies. XOXO.

Hoping for the best but not expecting anything.

Have you girls read the books “The Count of Monte Cristo”? It’s been a few years but I’m pretty sure it ends something like “life consists of two things. Waiting and hoping”
Kind of sums up 2020 is you ask me.

Re your kind questions, no development re my mother and grandmother. So no news is good news for now.

Hugs!

Thank you Missy. XO
My ACA is an AGS..I don’t think I‘ve ever seen a GIA certified Whiteflash diamond. I know they say they have both...but in my search for what I’m looking for they’ve all been AGS. Libby is a AGS G..Every appraiser that has seen it has said it’s closer to an F. I won’t go below a G. There‘s one diamond that’s a F VS2 but it has numerous clouds which scare me. Libby’s clarity plot is so clean that I’m spoiled. She’s a VS1 but all her inclusions are small and at the edge. She looks like crystal clear water when you look down on her from the top..I’m wondering if the clarity ratings are getting looser...Trying to find one with a clean plot in the size I want is difficult. I’m not ready to buy yet anyway. I need to see what I have to work with in January after my birthday..haha..

I gotta say, my 2.95 I SI 1 ACA is really yellow on the side, I approached John about downgrading to a G, he wasn't keen on it - hahahaha.. we shall see, not this year! xoxo

@MarionC. Happy Burfday, twin! xoxoxoxoxoxo here's to another year.

Greg's problem is so far it isn't a "typical" presentation as his PTH falls within "normal" range but his calcium is over 10. Though sometimes it is under 10. Mostly it is under 10.5 usually but definitely on the high normal side while his PTH isn't high but it isn't as low as it should be with a higher calcium from what I understand doing all the reading I have been doing about this disease. And, with Greg's history of kidney stones (4 decades) and now bone loss it is clear to me that is probably what is going on with him. Since one can have hyperparathyroidism with a "normal range" PTH. His PTH should be even lower with his higher (but again within the "normal range") calcium. So while his PTH let's say is 45 his Ca is 10 so IIRC with that measure of Ca his PTH should be lower.

Has anyone done an MRI to see his parathyroid glands?

I am trying to catch up Missy, you know that 99.999999% of any growth on the parathyroid is benign... Has Greg ever had any neck surgery, trauma to his neck? anything like that?

@Bayek I’m probably going to go down in size to get there...haha

Just leaving surgeon’s office. Most likely thyroid cancer. FNA done today. He did 5 biopsies to ensure a good sample.

Surgery scheduled January 13. Biopsy results take a few weeks. Probably does have hyperparathyroidism but surgeon can’t say 100% right now. CT scan and formal ultrasound scheduled December 23rd.

Impressions. I liked this surgeon but he kept focusing on the calcium and PTH being mostly normal. Though he did say it’s never normal for a man to have OP at Greg’s age and I’m combo with the kidney stones yes it’s suspicious. But he’s not sure. Thyroid cancer he’s more sure about but said it should be ok once removed. I’m focusing on that and praying it’s true.

December and January are going to be hard months but looking forward to being through with Greg’s surgery and hoping it goes well. After his surgery I’ll get evaluated. It’s looking like I do have hyperparathyroidism. Question is have we been exposed to radiation anywhere. It’s very rare for a married couple to both have it. So exposure to radiation would explain it. :/

@Bayek is it your birthday? Happy birthday!!!!❤️❤️❤️

Hello lovelies

Focus on the positive @missy, the surgery isn’t too far away, and that means that Greg will be rid of the cancer and you can focus on getting him and you, into better health. It’s always a bonus if you like the Dr. so I’m glad at least you did. Sounds like he was pretty thorough taking the biopsies so he gets a comprehensive idea of what’s going on. One day at a time, you’re going to get through this together. You must be worn out as I imagine you had a really early start to get in to the city, and now the long drive back.

Happy birthday @Bayek, how’re you feeling, I hope not too battered and sore. We’ve booked flights for March, by which time we hope to have had the vaccine, if not, we’ll have to rebook.

I’m so glad I’m not colour sensitive @MamaBee, because I looks very white to me, and having seen @Bayek’s lovely ACA, I’d be very happy with it. Glad you got through your gruelling day, you must’ve been pooped when you got home, it was a lot to do in a day.

Hopefully your Mum and Grandmother are doing well and will continue to do so @Scandanavian, and like you, I think it’s best not to worry about the ‘maybes’ until you know what’s going on.

 You should’ve told Marty it was one of his Christmas presents @marcy, and that you chose it with such love and great care, but as he needed a new coat, you’re giving it to him now. Exciting that you might be getting a new ruby too, if you’re not wearing the others, it makes sense to get something you know you’ll love and wear.

Thank goodness your niece is only displaying mild symptoms @MMtwo, one of Adam’s friends had it, and he said he was only ill for a day, oh to be young!

I hope your doggy responds well to the meds for Cushings @SallyBrown, it’s always worrying when they’re ill.

I painted the doors in the hall today, and I’m definitely done now, and I mean it this time  My neck and shoulders are killing me.

I had a surprise yesterday evening, Graham (Kitchen man) emailed to say they’re coming on Thursday to see if they can fix the issue, so please keep all your fingers and toes crossed that they can.

As I was in the hall painting, I managed to catch our post lady today, we had made up a hamper for her for Christmas, she’s on her own, so I managed to get individual portions of Christmas cake and panettone, some champagne truffles, mince pies, dark chocolate florentines, some nice cheese and a couple of small bottles of Prosecco, she seemed really pleased. She always so cheery and offered several times to get us shopping if we needed her to.

I see an early night on the cards, I’m zonked.

:wavey:

Samson says hey. He is a beast. But a beautiful beast.

HI:

My shift got cancelled so I booked to see my Doc for a swelling in my neck. Got an ER ultrasound also! Couldn't believe it happened so quickly. Anyway busy day.

@missy healing vibes Greg's way! You got to see another Specialist very quickly--very good! Some vaccine is here and our ICU workers are first in line, if memory serves.
@Bayek I am sorry you took a tumble!!! Your house does look gorgeous!
@MamaBee I hope your Mom isn't suffering from her biopsies--and I hope they are benign.

NIRDI shout out!!!

cheers--Sharon

Hard to believe what you are going through dear @missy I'm glad to hear you all met with a good surgeon and biopsies done. Processing the radiation factor and not sure what that means. I know you wore some fun leggings and boots to the doctor! I'm enjoying my Christmas tacky leggings lol! Hang in there sweet friend.
And @mrs-b always thinking about you too. Your dh is your everything too and I just hope his eyes heal.
Shout outs to all! I'm sorry to not mention all. Thank you all for the anniversary wishes. I remember each of your messages and how helpful and comforting you each were last year, while I was planning our wedding. And you all continue to be and I am so grateful.
Sending many hugs and love to all!

okay, best case scenario in a scary world, often people who have thyroid cancer recover very nicely.. the HGTV guy married to that girl who just got her 2nd divorce, forgot his name, well a viewer saw his thyroid cancer. In boomers there is a high incidence of thyroid cancer because in the 60s doctors did xray treatment for acne! yes it's true, in 68 I had xray treatment for plantar warts on my foot, rather than cut out the things they sent me to Northern Westchester hospital for 6 months 2x a week and blasted my foot with xrays, the warts were big and they just fell out and nothing has ever filled in, so far I'm cancer free on my damn foot. So I am upbeat for you.. I love you and Greg. Missy, if you have hyperparathyroidism, you need the ones that are big out asap.. you know it messes up lots of things.. jeezus I am sorry. love you both mucho.

@Austina aw thanks Austina! March, good news! I'll be waiting,. thank you for the happy bday! I made my own cake! my younger son forgot.. ha! I told him I will forget his in October and he said that was fair. Bdays near Christmas mean that busy people do have a hard time remembering it.. at this age 68 today, I don't want to remember any more!

can't wait to see you.. xoxoxo

Happy Happy Birthday @Bayek! I hope it was a fun day!
XOXOXO

Warning graphic pic. Just left podiatrist office.

I’m still numb. Let’s hope this takes care of this once and for all. Fingers crossed!

Our podiatrist is so great. He saw my name on the schedule and brought in his homemade wine for us. I love his wine so much. ❤

How is this doing?? did they take the nail off? Didn't you have the nail off a few years ago? jeeze louise Missy girl. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

@missy I truly don’t know what to say...Big hugs and love to you and Greg. I really feel everything is going to be okay for both of you.
I will catch up tomorrow. I was hoping for snow here in Maryland tomorrow.....but we’re only getting rain. My house in Pa will get about 8 inches...I miss snow...I like the feeling where I have to stay home and hang out in pjs when it’s snowing...I know how to party..

Oh my goodness you are the sweetest @mrs-b! It just arrived and Greg came upstairs as I was lifting weights and said something has arrived for me. I had no idea. You are too kind and thank you for the lovely card too. It means so much to me. Truly. I can't say I didn't cry. But for once they were happy tears. XOXO.

They are gorgeous. Thank you for bringing cheer to our day.

❤️

Sending you love and healing wishes.

@mrs-b @missy two of the most kind, classiest women I have met from PS... love you both.

@missy I'm trying to catch up.. has the stent been removed? I can't find that you said it was. Greg's one year anniversary on his new knee is coming up in Jan! good news and he's fit as a fiddle.. I hope you don't have parathyroid disease, but since you are in a group you know everything, sometimes they place the one gland in a person's arm! you probably know this, you only need 1/2 of one! are you taking HRT? jeeze.. I feel terrible that I was off in my nether world of inner self reflection and depression... I'm here for you.. Is MrsB okay? I keep trying to read her posts.. she and you, and all of us, are wonderful wonderful women.

@bling_dream19 your tree is beautiful. That is so cool to pay it forward with your old car. Sweet.

Here is the finished product.

BEAUTIFUL! I have nothing up, but I did put a wreath out, we are moving or rather starting to fully move this Saturday so no tree, all my stuff is in the garage of the new house.. how's you knee and all your other joints! xo

@canuk-gal girlie, why is your neck swollen? have you pulled something? P/T helps.. thinking of you. Kate

@MamaBee how's everyone? I miss snow sooooo much.. I miss winter, Christopher will get 14inches tomorrow supposedly in Brooklyn! we have been chilly here, like 42F.. but I so miss the NE. hope you are well.. is your Mom okay?

When I fell I hit my head and had a concussion and I swear to God my memory does not work right now.. ugh... @Calliecake how are you!?? @Keeliamira hello girlie how are you feeling now? We are watching how the grinch stole Christmas, the cartoon one, we love it! I have finally started to feel things again, depression is ugly, you feel nothing.

@missy you are going through such a trial Missy, Greg will be fine.. it's good you all are pushing to get diagnosis and treatment. Do you get enough VIT D Missy? I am all over the place here trying to catch up so I may sound disjointed (ha nothing new there!)..

okay I'm going to bed, I get sleepy - looking forward to 2021, I wish we had not left the NE for many reasons, I would come down to the city and sit 6 feet away and be with you... i'm going to make sure I check in every day. xoxoxoxo

loves you all! Kate

Oh no @Bayek! I hope you’re okay!

Hi Ladies

@missy You must be exhausted. I am glad that you have some answers and they told you that Greg should be okay. ***HUGS***

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy windy and a snow storm moving in - it’s like you relocated here. Good luck, stay safe and warm! I guess the EC ruby I am interested in was already on hold for a customer to see today. Right now it’s still listed online but who knows. Oh well, there will be more rubies. You are right Marty would never kill me but he might want to threaten to throw out my bears. I hate to hear the doctor agrees that Greg has cancer. Glad the surgery is scheduled for mid January. Hugs to both you and Greg. That is good you liked the surgeon and yes it is kind of strange both of you might have been exposed to radiation. Hi Samson, he is a cutie.

@Scandinavian glad to hear no news is good news with your mother and grandmother. Sounds like they are holding their own and that is good. I like that saying; it does work for 2020.

@Bayek Happy Birthday! I hope you had a lovely day. John will hopefully agree to that G ACA upgrade some time - it would be a perfect birthday present. After I “see” something in a diamond or gemstone; I always look for it. Sweet that you will start moving this weekend. Pretty exciting. When we started moving in on the 22nd we didn’t decorate at our old house or new house. I got out my little single LED tree and that was it. Too much other stuff going on when you are moving. My legs are stronger, my right knee has been catching again but not as bad. I am hanging in there; thank you. How is your shoulder doing? I will gladly send you some snow. It could take a while to recover from a concussion; I am so sorry you hit your head that hard. I do love emerald cuts.

@MamaBee did you want to go to a G ACA too? I didn’t answer your question earlier about GIA and ACA but the last I knew all ACA are AGS0. They have both AGS0 and GIA XXX in their Expert Selections.

@Austina that would have been funny to tell Marty I bought him that coat for Christmas. He has this “junk” basket on the shelf on the coffee table and I find stuff in there that I bought him for his Christmas stocking - so naturally I put it in the stocking again. Saves me buying things. My ruby looks iffy right now for a few reasons but the search will continue. Good luck getting your kitchen issue fixed and that was so sweet to give a lovely hamper full of gifts to your post lady.

@canuk-gal I hope they figure out what is going on with your neck and get you on the mend.

@bling_dream19 I bet it doesn’t seem like a year has gone by since you got married. Did you have your one year cake from last year?

Work was busy but my day was nothing compared to Marty’s. About 3:15 he was lifting and looked out the window at his pickup and saw a lady ram right in to it so hard she pushed it forward about 12 feet. Did a lot of damage to the pickup, totaled her car. Marty called 911 and the lady who answered asked if it was a blue Tahoe and Marty said yes. Apparently she’d been report hitting a curb so hard it bent her wheel in a round-about about 5 minutes earlier. She was huffing - which being a naive person had to ask what that was (inhaling aerosol). She was so high she passed out. She was trying to start her car and take off. It was her boyfriend’s car, not registered as the plates on it belonged on his mother’s car, she has a suspended driver’s license. Good luck getting a penny out of them. Marty’s pickup looks to have a lot of damage. The bed is definitely bent and crooked so we are worried the frame is bent. That means it would never drive or handle right again. We’ve had it 14 months. Our insurance will go up with a major claim since she doesn’t have insurance. She got tickets but not arrested - they aren’t arresting or prosecuting people because of COVID. Grr! If Marty’s truck hadn’t stopped her she would have gone through a busy intersection and maybe killed someone or herself. She was probably save by her airbags deploying. Pretty rotten.

Laters,
Marcy
