Now I really did it :((

HI:

@Austina glad you are keeping busy. It is sad to say that you have not seen your son IRL for that length of time. Thank goodness for Zoom! And the new family member looks like he is having a great time! Today will be another warmish day (7C like yesterday. Snow is melting in places.

@MamaBee you really have a lot on your plate!! Caregiver get easily burned out but you soldier on!

Recerted for my CPR today--always SO much fun. LOL. Not.

Maybe I'll hit the mall tomorrow. I'll polish my hazmat suit today......

NIRDI shout out!

cheers--Sharon

Hi Ladies,

Popping in to say hello. I have had a running Word doc with my replies and hellos and as time marches on, I go back the pages to make sure I didn’t miss anything and invariably I did. Know I send my biggest shout outs and thoughts of you. Also know I suck at keeping in touch sometimes.

@mrs-b what a whirlwind of medical support visits and surgeries coming up for you. I do hope you are out of pain soon with that back. I have a mild and occasional issue and live off Baclofen and heating pads for a few days every 6 months or so. I can empathize and only imagine how a major and prolonged back problem must be wretched. Compile that with all of your physical challenges and I can see why you are struggling so much to endure it. I am so, so sorry you have so much pain.

I wanted to tell you how much fun your poem was to read! I loved the ending, as I think so many of us deal with the new year in exactly that way.

Sorry for the delay in my response, but to answer your question about wearing my new GSS pearls – YES! I am completely smitten.

@marcy you cracked me up. Hope you have a great weekend!

@junebug17 thank you for the shout out about the family friend. Hope you are doing well and have a great weekend.

@Bayek – Hi ya and I am so sorry that the house has been a nightmare. Hope things get straightened around soon. A surprise 80k bill is absurd. The country is insane. It may not be a coincidence that wine sales are through the roof.

@springerspaniel congratulations for completing your paper. You must feel wonderful to be finished.

@SallyBrown hope you are doing okay!

@missy my thought continue to be with you and Greg.

I owe more shout-outs to you ladies, I am behind.

I hope to post more catch ups later! I need to get to the store before it gets busy. Back in a bit.

Picture of the gold earrings and necklace. Forgive the weird pose, but my earrings don't show up when I look nose forward.

I also love your glasses @MMtwo! I have to check out the earrings you're wearing. You’re adorable!

@canuk-gal I definitely have burnout...but I just stare into my bling and imagine I’m by myself...

Hello lovelies

Is it bad that it’s just after 6pm, and I’m in my jammies  ? In my defence, I’ve been working all day, had my decorating clothes on, so there seemed no point in getting ‘dressed’ now.

Thanks for explaining @MamaBee, I thought you were getting Libby regraded not your new diamond. It’s actually been over a year since we last saw Adam and Kim, 29th December, 2019! Last time we were in Austin. Ugh, your mother, you must be a saint because I think I’d have throttled her by now. Colin’s Mum used to ring him for him to ring someone on her behalf, and I told him, if she can call you, she can call whoever she wants you to ring. It didn’t do her any good to be so dependant on him, especially when he worked such long hours and was barely home. She’d also call and tell me to get him to call as soon as he walked in the door, I told her no, after he’s eaten, then he’ll call unless it’s a dire emergency, in which case, tell me. I know you say she’s always been like this, but I do think they get worse with age. I’m making mental notes NOT to be like that!!! You totally deserve your new diamond and bangle, you really are a saintly woman. The Govt are saying that those 70 and up *should* have their first vaccine by the end of February, so Colin hopefully will have his by then. Those are the first 4 tiers, I’m in tier 7 (the only disadvantages of being so much younger) So I think ATM, it could be anytime between April and June before I get mine. I’m not over worried about about the increase in time between shots 1 and 2, because there is some research that says your immunity increases over the weeks. I’m sure there’s research that says the contrary, but as we have no control over this, I’ll take my 1st shot and hope for the best.

Honestly @marcy, if you can find a good source for fresh produce, it’s worth not having to go out. This new variant here is so virulent, that we have no desire to go anywhere at the moment. Sounds like we shared a similar weekend just vegging out watching TV.

Oh dear @mrs-b your car misadventure sounds exactly like something that Colin would do. The one time he didn’t immediately put the keys in his pocket was, of course, the time we ended up getting locked out because his keys were in the car, and so was the garage door opener! Thank you for your kind comments, coming from a women of such good taste, I really appreciate it, and yes, the Wombat is on top of the headboard. I hate to hear how you’re suffering, but you do it with such grace, I can only hope you get a speedy resolution to at least some of your ills.

What a beautiful view @missy, the heron and your drop dead gorgeous earrings. I’m glad to hear you’re hanging on in there, and trying to be calm, it’ll soon be over, and Greg will be on the road to recovery. With this much love and support and positive thoughts heading your way, there can’t be another outcome.

-20 @canuk-gal that kind of temperature is unimaginable to me  Thank goodness it’s not that cold there -yet! Yum to onion rings, dipped in ranch dressing:lickout:

I have spent the entire day sorting out Colin’s walk-in. Took everything out, refolded it all, got him to decide what’s a keeper and what’s not, then stain blocked the ceiling, and painted the walls. Another coat should do it tomorrow, then everything can be put back and that’s another job done. My neck is really aching now.

Little Prince Albert decided that he liked the snow, just not the rain, and had a whale of a time frolicking in it.

Big love and hugs to all you special ladies :wavey:

@Austina I’m getting GIA reports on both diamonds...I can’t even keep up! I’m selling Libby..She was certified by AGS..The buyer is concerned with AGS certs saying they’re sometimes one to two grades off in color. He’s sending it to GIA on his own dime to make sure it‘s a G before giving me the price I want. If it comes in an H he will probably say he will probably offer less...In that case I’ll take it back...The whole discussion on AGS being soft on color made me panic.
Now I’m worried about the AGS cert on my new ACA. I asked them to send it to GIA to confirm it’s an F. It costs close to $800 but it will be worth it. The jury is out on what I’ll do if it comes in as a G.
This whole thing has me a wreck...

Hi everyone!

@Bayek, I'm sorry to read about all the issues with the house, and very sorry about your friend. I hope things start going better for you, please take care.

@missy, I'm sending calming thoughts to you and best wishes for Greg's surgery this week - I know there's a lot to worry about but trying to stay positive and having faith in the doctors will help. Just keep thinking about what a relief it will be to have this all over with. I am wishing Greg all the best and hoping for a smooth surgery and that he is back home asap.

DS and DD are doing pretty well - both are working and busy, and seem to be in good spirits. we didn't see dd at NY but ds lives close by so he stopped by for a quick visit.

@Scandinavian, love your pics of your doggies in the snow, so pretty!

@mrs-b, loved your poem, really cute. I hope you get diagnosed soon so you can start getting some relief.

@Austina, I'm sorry it will be a while before you can see Adam and Kim, it's very hard.

@marcy, I was so sorry to read about your fall! Must have been scary for you and I'm really glad you're ok. It's so great that you are noticing improvement and good results from your lifting. Good for you for sticking with it.

@springerspaniel, Happy New Year to you too! And congrats on finishing and submitting your paper, must feel great to have it finally done. Wow, six years, that's a long time. I hope you have good news soon.

@mrs-b and anyone else who gets a thrill off of a chop lol! IMG958679.jpg20210111_202915.jpg
I think it was about 12 to 14 inches and whew what a load off! I feel so free now, no more tangles! New year and new do :kiss2: and hubby is liking it.
Shout out and love and hugs to all!

@MamaBee I am very color sensitive and I've never had problems with the color grading on AGS diamonds.

Ok, I totally screwed up! I posted too soon, and thought I had deleted it but I guess I didn't! Everyone just ignore the above post, this is the finished one!

@Bayek, I'm so very sorry about your friend, such a difficult thing. It's terrible that so many things are going wrong with the house but hang in there, it will all work out in the end. And I hope Salley is feeling better soon. So much going on, I hope things start going better for you, please take care.

I was sorry to see Greg needed another biopsy and I am hoping for the best on that too.

Love the pics of Gracie, she is such a sweet little thing! Your new earrings look beautiful and the scenery on your walks is lovely.

@Scandinavian, love your pics of your doggies in the snow, so pretty - And so is your new bracelet!

@mrs-b, loved your poem, really cute! I hope you get diagnosed soon so you can start getting some relief. I'm sorry to hear about your health issues and discomfort and I hope the specialists can get you back on the road to good health. Your bedroom is really pretty - very inviting and calming. Murphy sounds like such a sweetie, I'm glad he's bringing some joy into your life.

@Austina, I'm sorry it will be a while before you can see Adam and Kim, it's very hard. Sounds like Bertie is doing great and very happy being with Adam and Kim. What a great pic of him in the snow. Wow, your bedroom, and your house, are just lovely. The progress you're making on the house is impressive, you've gotten a lot done and I'm glad you're in the home stretch. So exciting that you've started looking at houses!

@marcy, I was sorry to read about your fall! Must have been scary for you and I'm really glad you're ok. It's so great that you are noticing improvement and good results from your lifting. LOL to your self-appraisal being a work of fiction. Sounds like things are going well with your SIL, it's nice she can stay with you while she finds a place. Hope work is going ok for you this week.

@springerspaniel, Happy New Year to you too! And congrats on finishing and submitting your paper, must feel great to have it finally done. Wow, six years, that's a long time. I hope you have good news soon.

@MamaBee, oh my gosh, you do have your hands full! Being a caregiver can be challenging so take care of yourself. Bling definitely helps haha. I have my fingers crossed that your diamond comes back an F. Happy belated Birthday! Sorry I missed it and I hope you had a great day.

@bling_dream19, I'm glad you have your beautiful ring back on your finger. That ring is a total stunner!

@Polabowla, I'm so glad the test was negative, sounds like it was an awful time for you and I'm happy it's all behind you now. Sorry to see that dd's rash is really bothering her though, and I hope it eases up for her soon.

@canuk-gal, glad you made it through your busy workweek and I hope this week goes well for you. Your meal on Friday sounds so delish. You should do it again this Friday!

@MMtwo, what a great pic, you're lovely and your pearl earrings and necklace look beautiful on you. And I think you did a pretty impressive job of catching up LOL.

Things are good with me...dh and I have been bundling up and going out for a walk in the afternoon and the fresh air is doing me some good I think. Also getting up and off my butt is doing me some good too LOL. Just the usual here...trying to keep busy but not always succeeding!

Take care everyone...Stay safe and well!

GM lovely ladies!

@bling_dream19 what a gorgeous hair cut and yay for helping others with your kind and generous act.

@junebug17 glad you are getting out for walks in the afternoon and I agree completely. I always feel better if I can get outside and walk a bit. Thanks for your well wishes. I appreciate it. Glad you got to see your DS and that your children are well.

@Austina hope you enjoyed a good day yesterday and all is going well.

@MamaBee hang in there. I have a feeling you will be pleasantly surprised.

@Slick1 I am thrilled for you getting your Covid vaccine Feb 1st. YAY!

@OdetteOdile how are you? Thinking of you and hoping all is well.

Good morning @springerspaniel. Hope you got or can get your vaccination soon.

@canuk-gal I remember getting my CPR re-cert and it was never fun I agree. Of course it changed over the years and when we first learned how to do CPR is very different from today. Did you get your Covid vaccine yet? I hope it goes smoothly.

@Polabowla how is your DD's rash? Hoping it is healing nicely.

@mrs-b do you have any of your surgeries scheduled yet? How are you feeling? Continued well wishes being sent your way.

@marcy I am sorry you fell and relieved you are A OK!

@Bayek how is your friend doing? Healing wishes being sent her way. Hugs to you.

@MMtwo your pearl purchase is so lovely on you. You wear pearls better than anyone I know. They glow on you.

Hi to everyone else.

Greg and I enjoyed a good hike yesterday despite the gray overcast day and today is the day before the surgery so hoping we can hike today as well because after this he needs a few weeks to recover from tomorrow according to all the paperwork we were given by the surgeon. Maintaining calm and hoping it goes as well as possible tomorrow. Have a wonderful day lovely ladies.

(((HUGS))).

Leaving you with a photo from our hike yesterday.

@marcy Thank you Marcy.. That makes me feel relieved. I know you’re color sensitive...I hope it comes back earlier than expected! It’s nerve wracking having two diamonds in to be graded.

@missy That photo is hauntingly beautiful.

Good Morning Ladies,
Work is busy, busy, busy right now. My state's health department rolled out a COVID sign-up and I am on this list. It should be a few weeks and the shot will be available for my risk group.

@missy thinking of you today as you head into tomorrow with Greg's surgery. We're here for you (I know you know that) and will be watching the page if you need support. Take care of yourself too. I have to back out so many well-meaning sentences because when I review them, I sound like a clucking auntie filled with unsolicited advice. So, sending hugs and good wishes!

Thanks for the kind words about the pearls and glasses :) I love getting my glasses at Costco and believe the lenses work better than the expensive ones from my local independent optometrist. The prices are great and they have nice designer frames.

Your bedrooms are so pretty! Hubby and I bought this house two years ago and moved our furniture into the bedroom, but it's never been properly decorated. We're talking about making that a project this year. We need a revamp to the walk-in closet too. However, the initial move in and projects have sort of zapped us for a bit. Maybe next year. The one thing we did do it buy heavy drapes that make the room blackout dark for hubby's day sleeping when he is on the night shift.

...and I have to log off now and get to work.
more when I can!

HI:

Just call me deodorant face. Don't ask!:P2

Mega healing vibes across the miles @missy. Glad you enjoyed your walk! No exact date for my vaccine, yet. Some ballparks .....

@junebug17 glad everything is well for you and yours. Nice to hear from you!

@marcy you are a good SIL.

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

Colin’s walk-in all sorted out now, just the skirting boards to do tomorrow.

Glad you had a good walk yesterday @missy, it good to get out and get some fresh air. Needless to say, we’ll be thinking of you both tomorrow and wishing Greg a quick and successful surgery. I know it’ll be a long day for you both, try and keep busy and the time will go quicker.

I’ve heard of people spraying deodorant on their hair and hairspray under their arms @canuk-gal, but you have me intrigued how you got deodorant on your face! I hope you get your vaccine quickly, I hope we all do.

Glad to hear all is well with you @junebug17, and you’re getting out. We would go out, but everyone has the same idea, and I don’t really like walking around the streets and have to constantly cross over to avoid people.

Wow, you hair had really got long @bling_dream19, it’s a great thing to do.

Things are getting worse here, the Police have issued lots of fixed penalty notices to people who are selfishly ignoring the restrictions. What’s it going to take to get people to understand how serious this is?

Latest news is that Colin should have his 1st jab by 15th February, the army are going to be assisting at the new mega vaccination centres, so hopefully the targets will be met.

Keep safe lovely NIRDIs, we will get through this :wavey:

Dd is doing better thankfully; however dh's scans look troubling. He needs to rescan in 6 weeks and im beyond terrified. We have been there twice before and it is a brutal time physically for him & emotionally for all of us (especially with absolutely no family support on either side.) Sorry to hijack the thread im just trying not to cry in front of my kids. The thought of my strong darling husband needing more chemo is just unbearable.

Oh no! Let's hope it is not anything that takes him back through chemo. But you know, you can come here and talk. That is devastating news and you need to talk. This thread is made to hijack! sending hugs.

Thank you so much @MMtwo . It is so hard to go thru & to be alone. One would think a family (siblings parents inlaws etc) would come together at such a time but nope. Maybe a quick email or text once during the entire treatment.

@Polabowla it doesn't help that humanity is so siloed right now. People are definitely not at their more most resilient. It's a rough time to battle illness, which is hard enough in easier times. What type of cancer had your husband been fighting? I hope you don't mind my asking.

@Polabowla I hope your husband’s scan turns out to be negative for cancer. Please come here and tell us how he’s doing. We’re here for you...Big hugs..

@MMtwo it was a few years back, so no excuses for them.
First was removed surgically then it came back in the lymphnodes , now his lungs look problematic.
:'(

Oh, honey, that is terrible. I am so sorry you're dealing with this now.

@Polabowla I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this and hope your DH will be ok. Bucketloads of healing vibes to him and hugs to you.

Hello Ladies! @missy thank you for checking in! I am lucky I was reading this thread today and noticed my name because I am not getting alerts for this thread! I am glad I did not miss it =)2 I wish we had more emojis on PS because sometimes I feel like these little guys don't convey everything I want them too! Anyway, all is well with me. I am at times in a bit of a slump, but I would imagine many are, given the circumstances. Something I am considering doing is setting a goal with riding the Peloton and working my way through The Artist's Way workbook. Perhaps having a goal like that will help me feel a bit better. I got all the info in the mail for NYC Ballet's fall/winter/spring season, so that was exciting! I have some decisions to make. I will keep my eyes peeled for This Bitter Earth and let you know if it is on the calendar again. I remember I posted a link to my favorite ballerina, Sara Mearns, dancing it and you loved it.

I want to say hello to everyone and let you know I am thinking of you. I honestly do not know how you all keep everything straight and do such a thoughtful and lovely job replying to everyone individually. I find it intimidating, and I feel like I will forget someone and hurt feelings. That is why I so infrequently post in this thread. But I love seeing the updates, and I am keeping everyone (particularly those struggling with illnesses/pain right now) in my thoughts.

I'm so sorry to hear this Polabowla! It sounds like you have already been through a lot. I'm hoping the rescan shows better news.

They want to see if the new nodules grow or not, but yes it is a very long time.
Thank u all for the support & hugs right back at you all!
@missy i truly empathize with you with greg facing such serious surgery for cancer.
