Now I really did it :((

Thanks Kenny. Olive is a quaker parrot. My sister and nieces have had her for at least 4 years or more. She is friendly with other people but she is discerning so not friendly with everyone. Only those she likes. A lot like how cats behave. They love some people and not others

My sister's (my sister is a veterinarian) client found her. She was a rescue
Found very beat up, skinny, very bruised/ black and blue by one of her clients. Someone threw her HARD against a wall. Debbie took her and nursed her back to health and she is a sweet sweet parrot.
Some people SUCK so bad

I wont go on my soapbox here as I know I am preaching to the choir but how mentally ill or evil some people can be is MIND BOGGLING. A defenseless animal. The laws need to change and people need to be held accountable for their egregious actions against animals. Animals are NOT property and should not be viewed by the law as such. They are living beings. Deserving of love, kindness, safety, security and shelter and food

OH! Poor Olive!!!!!!
Thrown against a wall? :eek2::eek2::eek2::eek2::eek2::eek2: GRRRRRR! :angryfire::angryfire::angryfire::angryfire::angryfire::angryfire::angryfire::angryfire:

IMO, that would not have happened if the human, before even considering getting a parrot, watched that video I've posted many times, and will post many more times.

@missy you do what you can to help ferals.
Bless you!

I do something too.
Publicizing this essential and brilliant 26-minute video, actually screaming it from the mountaintops, is a community service I provide to parrots AND to humans

Everyone: please implore everyone you know to watch this.
It's interesting and entertaining, even for folks not considering parrots
That's probably why it has 225,000 views.

Also (if I'm permitted to say this, and even if I'm not) Marlene is easy on the eyes. ;))

All that said I have to add ...
Even Bibi, the sweetest parrot in the world, tries our patience.
He can be a real brat, less than 1% of the time.

Sometimes when all relaxed and kissy & cuddly for 30 minutes or so, he'll nip us on the lip, neck or ear lobe.
Not enough to draw blood, but enough to leave a mark, surprise and piss ya off. :naughty::naughty::naughty:
A human would never behave that way.
But (and this is KEY) he's not a human.
That's hard for us humans to accept sometimes.

In 9 years he's never once nipped a new person when he is on their shoulder meeting them.
Before letting Bibi onto their shoulder I give my little speech, which includes, "He doesn't bite, but he will kiss, hug with his beak, cuddle, and nibble on your hair and jewelry."

At home DH and I get nipped a few times a week, but a new person in public never gets nipped.
Except ... one time a friend came to our house, and I told him Bibi doesn't bite, but once on his shoulder, Bibi did nip him.
"Hey, I thought you said he doesn't bite!"
Surprised the hell out of me.
I can only surmise it's has something to do with Bibi being in his territory, his house.

One reason I love them is I'll never stop learning more about parrots!

Thanks... It is super sweet I agree.
The cats are terrified of Olive and keep their distance lol

Kizzy and Yaya also kept their distance from Bibi, and his predecessor, Senegal Parrot Puppy.
In nature, dogs and parrots are both pecking-order animals.
They carry that trait into their lives with us humans.

Thank you Kenny for sharing the video...and for doing all you do for the animals
Very informative. And I agree. Many who adopt animals (including birds) should not. They don't understand everything that is involved. It is a huge responsibility. It's like some people have no business having children.. Not everyone should just because they can if you kwim

GM girls! HAPPY (how did you get here so fast!) Monday! Just a quick hello this morning

@canuk-gal good for you enjoying a beautiful cycling day. I am living vicariously through you as our weather continues to be wet and windy and chilly. No cycling for us this week as the cold wet weather is with us the entire week I believe. We are decluttering and organizing and donating so yay for that. One good outcome of the awful weather. Enjoy a marvelous Monday.

GM @Slickk hope you have a great week XOXO

Hello everyone else. Hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful weekend. And has a marvelous Monday. XOXO

Leaving you with Fresca from yesterday afternoon..they come out in the rain if it isn't too torrential.

Screen Shot 2025-04-07 at 6.03.13 AM.png

Have a great day lovely people (((Hugs)))

Hello lovelies

I’m so glad you got to visit your parents @missy, and that they’re still battling on. It’s a shame they won’t consider a move to make their lives easier. Olive is such a sweetie, your Mum certainly has a way with pets. Fresca looks to be in good condition, so one less creature to worry about.

Yay to getting out cycling @canuk-gal, here are a few of the roses at the front.IMG_0059.jpegIMG_0058.jpegIMG_0057.jpeg

Yesterday was pretty cool here, so we stayed in and binge watched Reacher. Today is lovely and sunny, but cool, under 60 degs! We’ve cleaned the big filter today, and so far, so good, no leaks when we put it all back together.

:wavey:

HI:

Brief update: great SUV, some elation, then the tears cuz its all so complicated. Then you get it...more elation. LOLs And of course, an old fashioned. That's a drink, for old people like me and people who here don't imbibe!

cheers--Sharon

Hi NIRDI's!

I'm sure busy for a retired lady. I'll read through what I've missed.

@canuk-gal your new MB isn't a SUV? I've sure thought of switching to them or BMW because even Colorado dealers will pickup and deliver their cars for service. Not Porsche or Audi. I've never had an old fashioned. I should try one. And snow every month of the year sounds familiar. Woo hoo for a new contract and raise.

@missy I am glad you got to visit your parents. I get their resistance on moving. It might be too much for them to deal with, it's a lot of emotional and physical work even if they get lots of help. Big hugs to them and you. Love that MG you posted a picture of and I am so glad you are "back in the saddle" again if even for a little while. Progress. Yay! I chuckled at Gracie knowing when to hide. I can't say I'm surprised.

Hi @kenny

@Austina love your roses. I don't think I'll try anything more than one or two flower buckets out here. The wind will tear them to shreds.

I've been busy playing with my scope now that it's in the observatory. I got lots of pictures and then had to process them. I also got a new Snoopy phone case. Marty and I ended up with the exact same blue phone case and it was getting confusing. So naturally, I found a new one.

The galaxies below are M81 and M82 and are located below the Big Dipper. And of course one of my teddy bears posed with my new cell phone case.

Hi Marcy. :wavey:
I like your Peanuts phone case. :))

GM everyone!!! Happy terrific Tuesday!!!

@Austina gorgeous roses. Our flowers are blooming too. I love the flowers of Spring

@marcy thank you. How much fun playing with your scope in the observatory. So cool you have an observatory and love your Snoopy phone case. Fun! As always I just love your photos. Hi to Marty

@canuk-gal I enjoy an Old Fashioned but haven't had alcohol for a very long time since my alpha diagnosis but truth be told I was never a big drinker anyway. IIRC it has whiskey doesn't it? Enjoy your beautiful new car...did you mention the color?

@Slickk hope you are having a good week and enjoy a terrific Tuesday

Good morning everyone else. Hope all is well

OMG so Gracie was hiding in a new place yesterday morning...I have no clue how she opened the lower cabinet under the island but she did and it closed behind her. So she loves the cabinets and now we have to check every single one LOL. She is an imp and I hope we aren't traumatizing her too much. I hate that we have to give her meds but it's that or let her die which we are not willing to do. Not at this time and she is only 5 yo. We have not yet given her meds this morning and soon we are off to find her. Always an adventure

It rained all day yesterday so we continued decluttering and then we went shopping LOL. More stuff! Just what we needed. A new Sketcher's store opened and were having a big sale buy one get 50% off so I got four more pairs of sneakers and Greg got stuff too. I love sketchers though I remember when they first came out I thought old lady shoes. LOL I am an old lady now

Today is a hiking day...winds in excess of 40 mph so I am a bit concerned about power outages but glad there is a (very) brief respite from the rain which returns later for the entire rest of the week and weekend. Bah humbug this weather

Enjoy a terrific Tuesday all XOXO

Jasper and his tongue lol

Missy, I'm so happy you had a great visit with you parents and I want to say, your Mom has the best hair. OMG!

HI:

NIRDI should out!!!!!!!!!!!!

Low cloud day. Gloomy so no cycling. Maybe a walk. Low on the thrill o meter.

@marcy super cool pictures!! Thank for sharing! You sound like you are working hard. And yes, we did buy a SUV. We missed having one--I still have my sports car. I love Snoopy stuff.

@missy https://www.knobcreek.com/ This the ingredient the old fashioned is made with. Tasty!

@Austina wonderful roses!!!!!!! :kiss2:

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

@marcy, it’s pretty windy here too, but not your level of windyness  The roses are in fairly protected areas, otherwise I think we’d just have stems and leaves. The photos are amazing, the observatory was a great addition to TBE. The phone case is really cute.

That puss is a real minx @missy, she’s obviously a clever thing. I’m with you on the Skechers, they’re soooo comfortable  Good score at getting them 50% off, Costco sometimes have men’s ones at really good prices.

People often complain about all the tech in the Lexus, but I love it, and didn’t find it too difficult to get to grips with @canuk-gal. My QE11 rose is really lovely, I’ll get a pic soon.

See you soon @Inked.

Beautiful day here, I went for a walk with L this morning, then we took the car to be washed. Pool wasn’t quite warm enough to go in, 83 degs, which might sound warm, but it’s a tad too cool for us.

Off to Costco tomorrow, hopefully we’ll still have 2 kidneys each when we leave :D

:wavey:

Good morning lovelies! Happy wonderful Wednesday!

@Sunrises Sunsets aww thanks. I know she would appreciate that. When my grandmother died she lost her hair ( from shock) but eventually it came back. Albeit thinner than before. She had very lush hair when she was young

This photo is terribly faded (from the 1960s)...I think my mom has the original but this is the best I can do...four generations. My grandma, me, my great grandma and my mom. You can see my mom's hair here...very thick

fourgenerations1965.png

@Sunrises Sunsets and thanks for speaking out. I am tired of trying to have a calm and respectful conversation with some members. Some (you know who I mean) are such doomsayers. I don't feel like hitting my head against that proverbial wall anymore. Enjoy a wonderful Wednesday

@canuk-gal Greg loves Knob Creek whisky...we still have some in both homes despite the fact we don't drink alcohol (for the most part) anymore. Yummm. Have a great day

@Austina what doesn't Costco have lol. I will check that out thanks. Glad the day was beautiful albeit a bit chilly. It is freezing here literally..wind chill is 23 right now. Boo. Hope your day goes well

@Inked girrrrrl you read my mind last night...scary lol! I washed everything for three hours and wont wear it for a few days because I couldn't wash on high heat rather I used cold and ticks dont die with cold or warm and I couldn't put it in the dryer...it would shrink. So time will be the fix. But damn, wth. Hope you got it in time and if not may that treatment do the trick. I hope all goes well with the last few days of tax season

@Slickk good morning, hope your day goes well..weekend only a few days away woohoo

Hi everyone else, hope all is well.
We went hiking yesterday and ran into Glenn and his dogs again lol. We were just talking about him and there he was. He shows up wherever we are not kidding haha. Anyway after the hike I took another shower because I wanted to wash my hair. I get out of the shower and Glenn called me. His dogs were covered in ticks! Tiny tiny specks. He told us to check ourselves. Damn. So anyway I am not convinced we were not exposed but didn't find anything. I am not happy at all because my friend who is local got both Lyme disease and rocky mountain spotted fever last year and I was careless yesterday. We never should have gone hiking in the woods. It's too late in the season and ticks are everywhere. Anyway last night inked texted me warning me about ticks because she was exposed yesterday. How weird is that! LOL. I am not confident we are safe but I dont think any of our doctors will RX prophylactic antibiotics since we did not find any ticks on us. But they are so small what if we missed finding them but they were there?

OK so the cold weather continues and hiking we go again but this time only in non ticky area so have to figure out where. Stupid ticks are indestructible. I found out the cold weather doesn't even kill them and you can get infected any time of the year. But right now they are numerous and will remain so through summer and fall. Sigh

This is our little cherry tree

Screen Shot 2025-04-09 at 6.36.30 AM.png

Have a colorful and wonderful Wednesday XOXO

Ticks and tiny at that, not a good situation and wishing you great success in being tick- free or eradicating them if found. Now stay out of the woods until deep winter hits again, lol.

I think your hair is lovely like your Mom's and some thinning is to be expected as we age. I had a nice head of hair when younger but not nearly as thick as the two of you. It's nice when our parents share some of their best features with us, isn't it?

That cherry tree, WOW. Your spring is ahead of ours and it's nice to see some beautiful color, thanks for sharing that picture. Fresh air is wonderfully restorative for the soul, continue to enjoy your excursions and it will help keep you two young.

HI:

@missy I hear Knob Creek whiskey kills ticks! :cool2: Worth a shot (no pun intended).

cheers--Sharon

Good morning lovely ladies! Happy terrific Thursday!

@Sunrises Sunsets thank you for your kind words. But I never had thick hair. Just fine hair but lots of it. Now not so much but I have made peace with it and even having fun with alternative hair. So making lemonade out of lemons. This was how we were raised and I am thankful for all the good in our lives. Sometimes I focus on the bad but after reading RD's posts I realize I don't want to be such a negative nellie and that has further reinforced my motivation to focus on all the good! PS is very helpful for many things LOL even how to NOT want to be :) And hahaha truth. My DH and I are old (total 127 years!!!) but it happened so fast and my mind hasn't yet caught up to my body lololol. Grateful for making it this far and I hope we have some quality years left despite the chaos the world in experiencing. I will admit I have said many times I am glad I am closer to the end than the beginning

HI:

@missy I hear Knob Creek whiskey kills ticks! :cool2: Worth a shot (no pun intended).

cheers--Sharon

Hahaha OK! Tme to start drinking..or perhaps bathing in it?
Have a wonderful day @canuk-gal hope your weather is behaving better than ours or my girlfriend who lives in Nevada..it's 92F by her...too hot there and too cold here

@Austina hope your week is going well

@Slickk woohoo it's terrific Thursday and tomorrow is FriYAY...looks like a wet four days ahead but we will all make the best of it. Hope your week is going super smoothly

@marcy hope all is well by you and you are enjoying taking photos of the stars. No one does it better than you

Hello everyone else. Hope all is well.

We went hiking yesterday but stayed away from brush and woods etc so hopefully avoided ticks. Boo to the ticks. Today is another chilly day (cmon Spring where are you!?) so another hiking day.

But first, this morning, we expect the HVAC guys to evaluate the possibility of adding a third heat/ac zone to the attic. I know I will be in for sticker shock for sure. Because we have to insulate it too and add electrical outlets etc. But let's see if it is possible and worth the cost. I am keen on getting more available space and hope we can make it work. But if the cost is exorbitant I might say nope. It's 100% up to me. Greg is such an accommodating husband. Really the best in almost every way. I cannot complain at all. I lucked out with him. Not just because of him never saying no (well almost because he doesn't want a dog while we have four cats..so ureasonable lol), but because he really just wants to do anything he can to give me a happy content and peaceful life and he so supportive in all ways. OK sorry for all the mush

Speaking of beautiful trees

Have a terrific Thursday lovely ladies no matter what you do..enjoy. And be well. XOXO

Hello lovelies

Wow, the cherry tree is spectacular @missy. I hope the HVac people were able to give you good news, not just that it’s doable, but also that you don’t have to sell a kidney or two! Greg is an absolute diamond, so praise away, it’s lovely to hear :D I have heard that it’s a good idea to run over your clothes with sticky tape to catch ticks when you get back from walking. That way you don’t knock them off when you change clothes and give them the opportunity to crawl back on you :eek2: We used to use diatomaceous Earth on Dottie to keep her tick free. You have to be very careful not to inhale it, and I don’t know if it’d work on your clothes to keep them off.

I have visions of drunk ticks now @canuk-gal  How’s your weather, it’s glorious here.

We went to Costco, got what we needed, plus a few other things, shorts, trousers and T shirts for Colin. We like the 32degree cool ones.

Grabbed a quick lunch, went in to the pool, then headed off to trivia. I think we came 2nd again.

Got out early this morning, mowed the grass, then did the weekly food shop (where does it keep disappearing too?!), had lunch, and went in to the pool. It was 89 degs!!!!

Nessie is in the pool cleaning it ATM, stoopid thing is very temperamental!

Looks like another lovely day tomorrow, so probably more of the same.

Big love and hugs to you all :wavey:

Good morning lovely ladies and happy FriYAY!
It's a rainy rainy rainy day with more to come

Thanks @Austina sounds like such a lovely lovely day. With great weather...may that continue and if you don't mind sending some of that here :)

Yes the estimate was IOO reasonable to redo the two HVAC zones we already have and to add another. Next week we are getting a contractor here to give us an estimate to insulate the attic and to put wood floors down and drywall etc. So all in all it will probably be close to 100K but we shall see. And then decide what to do. I would love that extra space and it can only add to the value of the house to competely finish the attic but we shall see.

Enjoy the pool.. I am living vicariously through you
And great tip about the ticks. I sure hope we didn't get bitten but time will tell and for next time now we know what to do. That and bathe in Knobs Creek lol

Big hugs to you and Colin...enjoy a fantastic FriYAY

@canuk-gal hope your week is going very well and you are looking forward to a terrific weekend XOXO

@MamaBee how are you doing sweet friend? Thinking of you XOXO

@Slickk YAY It's almost the weekend...have a great FriYAY

@finerthings @springerspaniel @marcy and everyone else...hope all is well

We enjoyed a very long hike yesterday as the weather was great. Chilly but sunny and so nice. Today, tomorrow, Sunday rain so not sure what our plans are yet besides decluttering, organizing and giving stuff to charity. Have a wonderful FriYAY all. Be well. Enjoy. XOXO

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!

Busy week. As I've committed to working two days, I find I am tired and unmotivated to cook and clean at home. OKOKOK I've always been unmotivated to do those things, and can't blame it on work. LOL More tasks being assigned at work, so I have to question my sanity working more. We'll see...it is under my control. We planned to cycle today...and while temps are good the wind was NOT and made for a chilly day. I did errands and my DH watched golf.

Speaking of golf, yesterday, the HVAC was under repair and electrical work cut power here for hours. So in order to watch golf (after he went to MB to buy new floor mats) DH was at the local pub by 1100 to eat gorgeous fish and chips and get half priced wine. Excellent plan. Send the wife to work and....and......and....I thought it was pretty funny. Good thing I have a sense of humor.

@missy I will admit, I don't know about attics. We don't have them here--we have (developed) basements. Are attics easily accessible to develop? Are their big stair angles to climb? At any rate, good luck on your planning. I know the construction noise and traffic would be unbearable to me.

@Austina yes, it is difficult to get out of food shops without feeling $$ depleted. I picked up a few things today and a lady next to me chatted about the terrible food prices. We commiserated. I need my kidneys because I imbibe! I look forward to your rose pics...and any other flower pics you want to share.

Many NIRDI's MIA. Stop by when you can!!!! We miss you!!!

cheers--Sharon

So I think it varies. Our attic is really just an unfinished third floor. We have regular stairs that go to it. But you’re right. Many attics have drop down ladders. Our “attic” might be considered a hybrid. It’s the entire third floor. If I remember I’ll take a photo for you

And I second Sharon’s request. We miss all of you who aren’t posting !!! ❤️

Hello lovelies

:eek2: More work @canuk-gal? Send the old man back out, and you sit in the pub drinking and noshing fish and chips  I’ll try and take more pics this weekend. I’m not planting up the pots till July, we’ll be away in June and they’ll just die.

Our last house was 3 storeys @missy, and we had 2 beds, bath and sauna on that floor. Our loft space here is just where all the a/c stuff is. I think it would’ve been possible to have a second storey, but no need for us. Sorry your weather isn’t co-operating, another gorgeous day here again today.

I got out and finally finished off all the pruning, thank goodness. Then took over the edging from Colin. I think apart from regular mowing, everything is more or less under control now. We had to pop out to get salt for the water treatment system, we forgot yesterday. We were just about to go in the pool when L asked me to go out for a walk with her, so I did, and got in the pool when I got back - it was pure bliss!

FT with T & J tomorrow instead of Sunday. Weather is going to be lovely all weekend, so we’ll be outside enjoying it.

Sending big love and hugs to all the lovely NIRDIs, have a great weekend :wavey:

GM girls and happy torrential downpour Caturday Saturday! OMG it is really coming down outside and so windy. UGH

@Austina I am so glad your weather is amazing...we will be right over LOL. I wish
ENJOY FT with your friends and another lovely lovely day by the pool.
It's funny I wanted to downsize but I need more space. I think I am doing this aging thing all wrong LOL
Enjoy a wonderful weekend XOXO

@canuk-gal good morning. When we go shopping we end up spending way more than anticipated. For example we ran errands yesterday and I didn't even have a grocery list. Wow we somehow managed to spend too much. Everything is expensive and money is worth so much less than it used to be. On that cheery note wishing you a wonderful weekend XOXO

Here are some "attic" photos for you. Sorry for the mess. We are in the middle of organizing, decluttering and giving to charity \

Hello everyone else. Hope all is well and wishing you a very happy weekend ((((Hugs)))

HI:

@missy that is a very livable space + a view! Hope it works out for you guys.

Rain here today also, windy again. So no cycling today. I'll make garlic soup.

cheers--Sharon

Good morning lovely ladies and happy big and small dog Sunday!

The rain is supposed to be ending temporarily here (for the day that's it) and it's pretty chilly still
We got a lot accomplished despite my poor organizational skills and lack of ability to get rid of things LOL
I ended up ordering more things to accommodate some of the things I was supposed to get rid of..for example I found a box of cat photos and of course I needed to order 8x10 frames so we could display the photos  Yeah I am pretty bad with decluttering but as I wrote in another thread yesterday as I was procrastinating I am a pretty good procrastinator. Pretty pretty pretty good (Curb your enthusiasm reference for anyone who doesn't know lol)

@canuk-gal yeah wind is not too much fun on the bike once it gets past a certain point. Hope you enjoyed the day and yummy garlic soup. I hope it will be a good space once we are done, thanks. Just so much work. And yeah I wont be able to live here if it will become a huge ordeal. We have renovated three previous houses. Two of them gut renovations. And for all three we lived at our other home while it was being done. While checking on it on a regular basis of course. This shouldn't be that big of a deal but we dont know what the insulation process entails. The HVAC guys said their part would take only two days or so. Anyway lots more to figure out and logistics etc so no clue when (or for sure if) this will happen.

Yesterday we started painting on samples of the colors we are considering for the downstairs bathroom. I have lived with the brown bathroom color for 14 years and it is high time we change it. I want a gray blue more gray than blue. We painted the entire house a number of years ago but for some reason left the bathrooms. The primary bathroom is beige and I hate that color but that will have to wait. The downstairs bathroom is dark brown. Just no. So we got paint samples from the paint store and painted four swatches yesterday in the bathroom and I think we have a winner. A dark blue gray.

It's so hard for me to know for sure until the entire room is painted. When we repainted the living room years ago we had to redo because I decided the color was too blue. LOL. And the living room is huge. We had painters do it and we just repaid them to redo it. Greg plans on repainting the bathroom himself. Anyway thanks for listening.

I would love to redo my primary bathroom but not right now. Too much else going on and if we dont have to leave the house I would prefer that option. Since our NYC coop needs to be entirely repainted as well and some replastering too. We gut renovated that home in 2004 and it is high time we repaint and take care of other things there too. But girl, I don't have the energy. I am tired just thinking about it LOL

Good morning @Slickk @marcy @Austina @MamaBee @finerthings @springerspaniel @Scandinavian @Jemi @mrs-b @Inked and everyone else reading. Hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend

We chose from four paint colors. Bottom color is the winner. But they all look different in different lighting and different times of day

Screen Shot 2025-04-13 at 5.56.27 AM.png

Bottom choice looks more blue here but in reality is is very gray

Screen Shot 2025-04-13 at 5.57.31 AM.png

And in honor of Caturday Saturday yesterday this was where Princess Gracie wass hanging out as we were organizing and decluttering and painting samples...in the guest bedroom downstairs. Which we have turned into a pantry lol. Really needed the space so last week we got rid of the queen size bed that I had all through my 20s. I loved that bed. It was wrought iron and very feminine. But it is more practical having that room free of that big bed and now we are using much needed space there. Princess Gracie is happy with the arrangements too :)

Screen Shot 2025-04-13 at 6.00.08 AM.png

Have a great day girls. Be well. Enjoy. XOXO

@MamaBee wants me to tell everyone she misses all of you and says hello and happy holidays ♥️

Hi NIRDI’s!

@kenny - thanks. I am a Snoopy fan.

@missy Gracie is good at hiding. I hope the medicine helps. Sounds like you and Greg got a good deal at Sketchers. I need to try some Sketchers. I want some slip-on shoes. Oh no about your friend’s dog covered with ticks. Our local news put out a warning too. I worry about Marty out there working on the observatory so much. Your cherry tree is gorgeous. Good luck with adding more living space in the attic, it would be a great addition. It’s so hard to know what color of paint you like too. Our walls are all an off white with white trim. Our main color outside is a gray.

Hi @Inked and @Sunrises Sunsets

@canuk-gal I hope you enjoy the new SUV and that you still have your sports car. I like my SUV that pretends to be a sports car. We’ve got a side road to get home where we both tend to blow out the cobwebs. Ha Ha. Darn that they want you to do more tasks at work. That seems typical these days. LOL you DH went to the pub to watch golf. We’ve had it on this weekend too.

@Austina I saw a headline that this winter was one of the windiest on record. I didn’t notice any difference here. Ha Ha. That’s good your roses are protected from the wind. I’ll look forward to pictures of your roses. I hope you didn’t have to leave your kidneys at Costco. Our food disappears too quickly too. Of course, Marty eats for four. I am glad your weather has been amazing. We’ve had a few nice days, even got near 80 one day. However, some wet stuff is in our forecast.

Busy week and weekend. Too much work, then enjoying being retired. Marty had warm enough weather to get caulking done on the observatory and painted this weekend. Of course, he trashed his one and only heavy winter coat and some other clothes. I tried washing them, but it was a waste of time. I am nagging him to get another coat ordered, I don’t want him in my car with that stick caulking on his coat. And we all know - winter isn’t done where I live.

I got laundry done today and fried up eight pounds of hamburger. One was for me and it’ll be four suppers. Marty ate one pound for breakfast and I packed up six more containers for him this week. I like lean hamburger, so I cook mine separate. Then I used two skillets to fry up his hamburger. What a mess that makes. So next was degreasing the stove and countertop. But I make FAR less mess cooking up a bunch at once, than he does frying up a pound at a time. He uses lots of butter that splatters.

We had supper with friends last night - the drinkers - but only had two bottles of wine among the six of us. It was enough to get my heartbeat going a bit, so I stayed up late. I hate to go to bed when it’s like that. It was only around 80 but I thought it was best to stay. I need to be more vocal about nope - they type of wine messes with me.

Looks like rain or snow moving in here.

I did get a shot of the almost full moon the other night. It was cloudy last night so I didn’t see it.

Laters,
Marcy

Good morning lovely ladies and happy marvelous Monday!!!!

@marcy wow love that photo. Glad you enjoyed dinner with your friends but sorry the wine didn't agree with you. When Greg and I used to go out to eat with friends on a regular basis I was the only one not drinking alcohol. It worked for me. Wine doesn't agree with me either. Though now I eschew alcohol due to my alpha diagnosis and luckily I don't miss it. My body must have been trying to protect me all those years ago as I was never a big drinker. Even before we knew of my diagnosis and the fact I should never have alcohol or be around smoke. But as usual I digress. LOL enjoying work and then enjoying retirement..best of both worlds :) Oh no to Marty ruining his only winter coat.
I saw a headline that this winter was one of the windiest on record. I didn’t notice any difference here

Hahaha same here. Very very windy as usual. That is the MO here at the shore. For sure

Boo to snow moving in...let it just be rain fingers crossed for you Marcy

Good morning @canuk-gal @Slickk @MamaBee @Austina @Scandinavian @springerspaniel @finerthings @Jemi @LLJsmom @Inked and everyone else! Tax season is almost over LLJ and Inked and I am very relieved for you that it is..hope you don't have a lot of late filers

Yesterday we went CYCLING!!!! Woohoo!!! I wasn't sure we would go because it was borderline temps...low 50s but cloudy so without the sun and the usual strong winds here it was a questionable cycling day. But I was motivated to go as it has been a few rainy weeks here with only one or two decent days sprinkled in between...and with my coccyx pillow we were able to complete almost a full ride...and it was great. We skipped ice cream as it was too cold but today hoping to get some ice cream because right now looks like the rain is holding off for one more day. YAY.

Have a marvelous Monday lovely ladies. XOXO
