Hey everybody.

I''m kind of a lurker. I''ve posted a few things here and there, not much. bUt here i go again.

My man is in the hospital he had surgery yesterday (serious surgery, they removed a mass the size of an avocado from his chest) and i want to bring him something to make him smile but i don''t know what. Not flowers we aren''t big flower people... and not stuffed animals or baloons becuase i dont want to embarass him.. but i can''t think of what else! I got him a card and some basketball magazines he likes... and i don''t know what else.

I talked to him this morning (i''m at work! damn work!) and he sounded so sad.

I am so sorry he''s sick!! Is he going to be ok? Whenever my DH is unwell I get him something funny to make him laugh. I don''t know if you guys have a portable dvd player, but maybe you could bring him a funny movie to watch while he passes the time... or maybe some music? Music always makes me feel better.

he should be ok yes assuming everything keeps going well!

no portable dvd

thats a good idea wish i knew somebody who had one.

i did leave him my ipod so hes got that at least.

thanks for the suggestions :)

I''m not sure how creative you are, but you could write him a funny story and make some cute pictures to go with it. Even if you can only do stick figures it should still make him laugh. Heck, they might even make him laugh more

If it were me, just you being there would be the best gift. If he is able to eat, perhaps a few of his favorite cookies, a sandwich from his fav deli, a brownie or two, etc? Hospital food can be kinda nasty.

ETA: What about one of those little hand-held video games like Tetris, Poker, slots, or this one is Deal or No Deal. Or some Legos! They are fun!!!

What about bringing some travel games you can play together?
