Oh wow congratulations to D! Yaaaaaaaaay! That''s fantastic news!!!

Does he have to serve an apprenticeship period now? Or more exams? Is there much more to be done before he''s a ''full architect''?

He has to do a project from start to finish and make sure it gets built so he just has to wait now until a suitable one comes in. So that was his last exam ever but now it''s on to the project.
Did you friend decide to apply in the end?

That sounds so exciting! I take it he''s not allowed design something for himself?

My friend is in TY so he has time! He''s talking about Maths / Physics courses now. It changes every month

I think it''s one of those things that someone told him when he was little that he should be an architect and it ''stuck''. Someone told me as a small child that I should be a doctor and I used to tell everyone I wanted to be an orthopaedic surgeon. Eh, noooooooo... I so wouldn''t be able for that!

Well we''re moving into our new place the day we get back from Perth and he''s already done up plans for it. Thankfully my dad will be the landlord so he doesn''t mind what we do with the house. God knows what he''ll build!

Ah your friend has plenty of time to decide. I was always told that I should be a vet when I was smaller-it was just the getting into it that was the problem

Yep and the worst thing is we have very different taste. It''s taken us 4 months to pick cutlery

(...seriously!!), so I''m only waiting to see what he has in store for the house.

I know!! Although the price difference between Tiffanys in Europe and Tiffanys in the US is unreal. My lucida cost nearly €7000 more in France so that''s over $10000 difference

Bee* - Nah, I love the country too much. You will never believe this but I will have to move home again in August. That makes 5 moves in just over one year! SOB! This time we are moving into our house. It may not have walls or a roof (at the moment it is just foundations in a field!) but come hell or high water this will be my last move!
