Oh my, Metrodome roof collapsed!!

The NFL delayed the game in Minnesota till tomorrow anyways, since the Giants weren't able to get to Minneapolis due to weather.... Thank goodness they postponed it, because the whole roof collapsed from the weight of the snow!!

The design concept is that by pressurizing the Metrodome that the pressure will hold the roof up, The lights are hung from the roof. This design feature has been used successfully in warm climates. But, its hard to support a foot or more of wet snow...

Too bad they did not move the game to Green Bay..... or Chicago. Then we could have seen a real northern football game. (wimps). On the other hand, Milwaukee Miller Park benefited several years ago when another states baseball team moved a 3 game series to Milwaukee due to snow.

They had considered playing the game at the University of Minnesota, but it's an outdoor field and the high tomorrow is supposed to be 4 degrees.... I do love watching an outdoor game when it's rainy or snowy. I do feel bad for the players though... It has to hurt so bad!

And the snow we got was actually very "heavy but dry" not.... "wet" It's hard to explain.

Oh, and I'm 99% sure I heard the roof collapse too.

And I pretty much hate the jerks that think it's ok to drive like a jerk in the snow. They only end up getting stuck and holding up the cars behind them. Not to mention, if it's too dangerous for a PLOW to be out, perhaps people should just stay in their homes

I hate when people here freak out about snow. We're in New England, did you think it was going to be 75 all year with a light coastal breeze?! Plus I came to CT from Buffalo. What they call a major snow here is a light dusting! Drives me bonkers!

I feel your pain! Here in Michigan, we are well versed in snow driving. Yet, every year, it seems like there are people who have NEVER seen snow before and forget how to drive properly in it! Those are the idiots that cause major traffic backups and accidents. If you're too scared to drive, then stay off the darn road!
