I know I said no more...but I saw them...for a good price...and snagged them.

They are 13mm each, and perfectly round. They are undrilled, so If I decide to put them in anything I need to find someone to drill them.

I will post my own pics as soon as I get them. They are described as a steely black color.

Here is a more accurate picture of the color. This is the same pearl as no 2.

OOOPS, hers the pic!

they look to have a decent luster. What color are the overtones?

Well the seller said its a "dark Iridescent grey". I dont know a whole lot about pearls, so I will post pics of them in a few days when I get em, and you can tell me :-D.

Wow! Those are gorgeous.

Those are very nice pearls. If they truely do look like those images, you''ve got yourself some very high quality pearls. Well done!

How many loose pearls did you get? Did you purchase these from an online seller?

julie.

I purchased them from an ebay seller (USA). Its not a pearl or gem vendor, but a person selling her 4 loose tahitian pearl collection. I bought 3 of the 4 (the 4th had a more oval shape to it and I wanted perfectly round). She said she bought them for MUCH MUCH more then I won them, and that they are exceptional quality. I won all 3 for 70$ (dont know pearl pricing, but I am guessing that is a good price...they look pretty and worth 70$ to me).

When I get them I am going to scope them to make sure they are real (I scope at 40-140x), and take them to a high end jeweler in the area that sells more exotic pearls and stones to verify what I see. But she seemed like an honest seller with good feedback, so I am not really concerned about that.

I will of course take pics of them and post them for you all to see :-D.

hahah! I am no expert neither... I think they look lovely though and for the price... I think you will be thrilled with them!!!

I too know nothing about pearls but I do know I love the look of those!!!

I think $70 for 3 pearls, 13mm, round, clean, with very good luster (from the pics) is a heck of a price - well done! Even with ''good'' luster, instead of ''very good'', that''s a deal.

From the images, they look authentic. Careful scoping them, hold the pearl with your fingers - not tweezers. Don''t want to risk scratching them.

Do you have some ideas how you want them set?

julie.

I dont even hold them while scoping. My scope is like a tube that goes over and around the whole stone/pearl.

Ill post pics of the micro pictures as well! I should get them tomarrow or thursday :-D.

I am actually thinking of this style earrings for 2 of them (except in white gold). I LOVE this style. It is classy, but still 'trendy'. I think it would look nice with 2 huge pearls. what do you think?

This looks pretty for the 3d pearl....except a white gold box chain would look better I think.

I think those will be a lovely set. On a side note, I would not go with the threaders for the earrings. I say this because I have had threader earrings with pearls that were much smaller than yours and they "slid" out all the time. I would just have a chain dangling from a post or a diamond post to match the necklace.

Thanks for the advice! I will do a danglie on a fish hook then. I plan on making them myself, and actually have extra fish hooks laying around.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing, that they might slide out.

How exciting!!! Can''t wait until you get them.

Do you know where you might get them drilled at? I had mine pre-drilled because I had NO clue where to even start with that... hmmmm no idea!

I think I know a jeweler that has a drill.
