Speaking of Borders, have you tried their hot vanilla chai tea? I hate the Starbucks Chai, but the one at Borders...I go just for that.

I''ve not tried it, but I will now, upon your recommendation.

Grande White Chocolate Mocha...but in decaf lately since my Fetility Dr has banned me from caffeine! I realized I was an addict when the people at both of my local Starbucks started calling me by name, and asking me if I wanted the usual!

I heard that coffee at Starbucks has 36% more caffeine than average, and that''s how they keep people coming back!

In the winter I like the pumpkin spice latte and now I''m drinking double tall vanilla lattes

Oh man! I get the warm fuzzies just thinking about Starbucks!! I LOVE them! It''s the only place where I am perfectly happy spending around 5 bucks for a coffee drink. Ready? Here goes:

My fave: grande white chocolate mocha, nonfat milk, no whip

also: toffee nut lattes

gingerbread lattes

Hmmm..... I see a trend here

For the summer: grande coffee or mocha frappuccinos!!
I also just got my husband hooked on the Java chips creme frappuccino. This is good because now he asks me once a day " java chip time?" Translation: WERE GOING TO STARBUCKS BABY!!

Yep. I''m obsessed. They need to develop a support group for us!

No Starbuck''s?!?! My fiance and I were laughing yesterday because we wanted coffee, and couldn''t decide whether we should go to the Starbuck''s in Barnes & Noble, the one at Albertson''s, or the stand alone shop--they''re all in the same shopping center and were equally close to where we were parked!

lol... were you in Mira Mesa?

I sure was! We were going to the movies and I needed my coffee fix!

Well...although I was amused that a second one opened near my house less than 2 miles away from the first, that''s got me beat.

How do I take it...usually as close to my name as I can get it...regular. Unless I feel like mocha (cause I like chocolate, too!).

Also, though, as Mighty Red noted...

I prefer Dunkin Donuts (which are on every corner in Boston!) but in summer I do like the rumba
frapuccino (with whipped cream) yum!

I''ve gone there recently, too. What''s the deal with them? Do you find as I do that to get cream, you have to tell them, and they do it for you? I''d call that a trademark practice, except that dumb is more descriptive. Like...what''s the chance they''d put in the amount of cream I would, were I fixing it myself.

i''m in med school and therefore coffee is a food group unto itself

most often i make my own at home, but i go and study in a coffee shop about once/week. and i only get regular old drip coffee + a little cream + a couple packets of splenda. my friends say i''m boring. but i stopped eating sugar years ago, so i don''t do the sugary milky coffee drinks. what i really need is the caffeine anyway!

Although I like Starbucks coffee, I only treat myself to one on a very rare occasion. Although tastey, way overpriced IMO. I''d rather save my pennies for new sparklies.

I save Starbucks for Fridays... too expensive if I were to go daily. When I do go, it''s a venti caramel machiatto, no foam... SO GOOD!

I''m not a coffee drinker so it''s tea for me!! "Vente, black iced tea, unsweetened with extra ice please!" They know me at four different Starbucks in my area. I almost feel stupid going to get tea every other day. "That''ll be $2.09 please." I give them $3.00 and drive off a happy camper for the day.

I blame my son for making me take him there for a frapachino last year!

FireGoddess: I LOVE borders vanilla chai tea. And you are right, it is much better than Starbucks chai. I do find that the Starbucks chai with soy gives the drink a little spice.

A Diet Peach Snapple iced tea from 7-11 .... does that count? :)
And when I get a cup of coffee...which is only about 3 times a year on that blue moon, it's from 7-11 baby. The best coffee out there!!!

strmrdr,

That's funny about the pepsi, you're ok now???
Sorry didnt get back to this thread until now.
That was my first and worst blood clot happened in 96.
The one last year wasnt as bad.
Other than being on some nasty blood thinners probably for life, Im fine :}

Never did I think that "venti skim iced caramel macchiato" would roll so easily off my tongue, but it does now...

I could have bought a 2 Ct rock withh all the 5 dollar coffes I buy. Shame on me.

Well, I have done a REALLY good job of weaning myself off of starbucks. It USED to be in the summer a venti espresso frap. The fruity ones they came out with this past summer are good too though. In the winter it ws a grande caramel macchiato, with extra caramel :) I''ve weaned myself off of coffee for the most part. Now my real addiction at starbucks has become the seasonal frosted cookies.

Vente nonfat White Chocolate Mocha and no whip.

i also loooove the pumpkin spice lattes and gingerbread lattes that they have during the winter months... it makes me crave one just thinking about it!
but during the rest of the year.. its grande decaf drip in a venti cup. even when you say "with room"..i still need more.. this way i dont waste coffee by pouring it out to add milk or cream. oh ya, 2-3 splenda..dash of half and half, dash of milk. or, grande ice coffee, 3 splenda, dash of half and half.. yummm....

Tall nonfat cappuccino or latte-low foam, decaf if it''s after 1pm. I rarely go to starbucks though. There are too many great local coffee shops for me to support a worldwide corporation for my occasional caffeine fixes. I normally make my coffee at home anyways. If I have to get my morning coffee at a shop, I get a 24-oz half-caf Columbian, black.

Funny, now I can''t stand mochas or the flavored lattes because they''re too sweet, but when I first started drinking coffee in 12th grade, I had to put 7 lumps of sugar into a mocha to choke it down! Strong black coffee is the best!

Tall Mocha Frappachino-No Whipped Cream Please!

Oh my goodness how did I miss this thread!?!?!?!?!?

I am a self-confessed Starbuck''s-a-holic. I go every morning (including Sat and Sun) and always get the same thing:

Iced Grande 2 pumps of vanilla (usual serving size is 4 pumps) non-fat latte

No matter how cold it is outside always an iced drink, I am too impatient to wait for it to cool enough to drink.

I have moved 4 times in the last 3 years, and each time the new starbuck''s morning crew knows my drink by the second week i am there. I have my starbucks card that I refill, usually spending ~$100/month (30 x 3.30/drink)

When I am out shopping or with friends in the evening, I will get either a Grande Chai Cream Frappucino or a second dose of my usual.

I figure, I am not into expensive shoes, purses or designer clothes, I don''t drink much alcohol, so 100 a month isn''t outrageous.

My Starbucks drink is a grande light coffee frappachino with whip cream on top.

When I worked in Atlanta, my friends and I would go get one at least once a day, sometimes twice.

I became really addicted to them. One weekend, my husband and I went to a wedding in New York. Before the wedding, we walked all over Manhattan and could not find a Starbucks. We had to drive to another part of NY for the reception, and he wouldn''t stop to get my coffee - it was out of the way, and we had other people in the car. We had time to kill and everyone wanted to go to a bar to watch the Penn State game. I started having major withdrawals in the bar. I started snapping at everyone, and then refused to talk to them at all. The drunks in the bar ended up finding me some Starbucks frap drinks at a nearby local convienence store to get me by.

I was really embarrased about it after I had my caffeine fix and was normal again. My husband''s friends had never seen anyone go through Starbucks withdrawals before. I knew I had a problem, so I had to ween myself off of them. Now, I have them as a treat every now and then.

When I was at a Starbucks a couple of months ago, I asked them if they sell their pumpkin spice flavoring - which I love. The lady there said that they don''t sell it, but she had a lot in the back that wouldn''t be used up before it expired. She gave me a whole thing of it... more than half a gallon! It has lasted me for months. I make myself pumpkin spice lattes on the weekend!

The Starbucks in the B&N aren''t true Starbucks...they just use Starbucks coffee. Some of them use cheap whip cream and don''t have the same high standards.

I love flavored coffees, lattes, capucinos, pretty much all coffee beverages. But I don''t like sugar, and I''m not supposed to have it anyway. Whenever I go to Dunkin Donuts and ask for a Latte or an iced cappucino with NO sugar, they usually do a double take and ask me if I''m sure...lol. There is one DD that I go to pretty often that has the same two or three people working there all the time. That''s the only DD where they don''t think I''m strange for not wanting mine sweet. At home, I like my coffee extra strong with skim milk. Always have liked it that way.

White Chocolate Mocha Venti yum yum

Summer -- Venti sugar-free vanilla iced non-fat latte, I feel like such a pain in the a** when I order this way!

Winter -- LOVE a non-fat gingerbread lattes...I refer to it as a little sip of heaven!

In Hawaii, on our HM -- Mocha Coconut...the used to serve this tasty frozen drink in Boston, but the discontinued it...probably a good thing as they are loaded with calories!

My husband on the other hand..."Just get me what you think I''ll like!" -- he''s so easy to please!
