CMW,

I do not appreciate the sarcastic tone in your reply. I am honestly trying to discuss a subject with you in seriousness. How can it be possible that a low saturated stone be devoid of any brown?

CMW why don't you answer the question?

LD why don't you stop trying to badger me. I don't see where you have a horse in this race. As all you have done is criticize me while adding zero info.

Yes you're correct. You do exactly the same on many many threads. You challenge for the sake of it whilst adding zero to the process and I wondered how it would make you feel? Because this is how you make others feel. It's not nice is it?

That is the way YOU see it. I see it as trying to get to the truth of the matter. While getting rid of all the BS that also is flying around. For instance, How about posting a picture of your strongly fluorescent ruby next to any of your alexs to see if the alex truly has strong fluorescence. I will bet a dollar to a donut that the alex does not have strong fluorescence. Yet on many occasions you have stated that it does. See what I mean by flying around.

OMG! Well with that statement you''ve clearly shown you know ABSOLUTELY nothing about Alexandrite. You can attack me all you want (as you have done since I first joined here). Carry on CMW.

CMW,
I have tried, to the best of my ability, to answer all your questions since you feel I provide inaccurate information from time to time. I admit I am not perfect, and that is a possibility. This is a public forum afterall and we cannot always cite every source since there is some brevity to our posts, and perhaps inaccurate information does occur from time to time. I do try however, to the best of my ability, to be more accurate and cite sources when I can. If you are so interested in this padparadscha debate, in order for clarity, please feel free to open a new thread.

There is a paradox in the nomenclature for the standards of what is and what is not a padparadscha. That paradox is that a desaturated stone of a certan tone and hue can only be a padparadscha, but value is often placed on more vivid color. There was a thread opened about it by Chrono a while ago. It is in the link on the first page of this thread that I provided. If you want to even reopen that old thread, please ask the moderators to do so since I believe it has been closed.

Thank you

Hmmm, I know alexandrite does not have strong fluorescence. It is moderate at best. Post the picture and prove me wrong.

You know absolutely nothing. If there''s one gem you can''t challenge me about (or know more about) it''s Alexandrite. I don''t lie. I never have. I also don''t have to prove anything. However, you''re full of challenges aren''t you? So here you go. I guess an apology is out of the question?

Now, I''ve done my bit - instead of deflecting from the fact that you can''t answer Chrono''s question - please attempt to now.

By the picture the fluorescence in the alex does not look as strong as the ruby to me. Strong for an alex perhaps but from what I see in the picture it does not look like the ruby looks. I am sorry to have questioned the "EXPERT". BTW we are all entitled to our opinions. Nice attack.

Thank you for taking the challenge and posting the picture.

Why don''t you rise to the challenge now? Answer Chrono''s question.

Oh and if you want to see weak fluorescence so that you can compare, here are two Cuprian Tourmalines, 3 Alexandrites (please note all showing the same strong fluorescence) and the Ruby.

Tourmalines do not fluoresces.

I guess by all this deflecting and trying to attack me, what you''re saying is you can''t answer Chrono''s question.

I am not the one doing the attacking you are. I guess some would just rather stay in their nice safe world thinking they know all the answers feeling smug.

I have stated my conditions for answering the question.

CMW,
Yes we are ALL entitled to our opinions. I have had opinions in the past that you did not agree with and you wouldn't let it go, you even bring them into totally unrelated threads. For you, it seems an opinion is only worth while if it agrees with yours. Fact is fact, that's one thing, but if people have an opinion on the color of a Mahenge spinel, preference over one gem lab vs another, a not so positive series of experiences with a vendor you favor, you seem to get very defensive. I think you just need to let that go and let people have their opinions, even if they don't always agree with yours. However, you constantly question and challenge them without anything to back up your case. That's my problem, and I find it quite spiteful. I'm sorry, and I know this is probably not going to register with you at all, but that is how your posts come off.

A little off topic perhaps.I really do not think this is the right venue for this conversation.

I wonder who is the one who can not let go and who are the ONES who keep going and going and going. Are you the energizer bunny?
