One ring to rule them all?

I had originally planned on selling my old e-ring when I upgraded to my 4ct 10+mm BUT I am sooo happy I didn't! I still wear my 2.22 OEC on days like today! I've just been busy with the kids and sometimes its nice to wear something a little more demure. It is a completely different look. Also I think further down the line, my daughter LOVES my OEC and I would love to pass it down to her when the time comes. So I'm not so much into the ORTRTA....and I'm actually thinking about getting a nice elongated cushion to add to the collection....:)

I tried to find SMTB posts of your rings but you don't have any! Please share the bling - I'd love to see.

I am NOT a one-ring person. I like different things and I can't see myself replacing my engagement ring - I haven't ever seen a sapphire I like as much as this one, yet I love and want to wear all sorts of different colors. I also like having different color metal sets so I can coordinate with my outfit and other jewelry - I don't need to because I'm a fan of mixing metals, but sometimes it's nice. But I do actually wear most of my rings, alternating between right hand and left hand, however the mood takes me. Sure, I wear my engagement ring most but I consider even twice a year enough wear to keep an item around.

But I think diamonds are a different issue since one diamond looks pretty much like another to me, so I can see how someone who likes diamonds would just want the biggest.

One ring would make me feel...(forgive me for sounding like such a materialistic ass-hat)...deprived. (Good lord - I cant believe I just said that.)

hahaa... same tho

I hate to say it, but I think all the gorgeous bling and custom designers on PS and IG have contributed to feelings of dissatisfaction and the "need" for more or bigger. I know it has fueled my fire! I have several erings, and a few rarely see light outside the box. I don't think I could commit to just one though. You have gorgeous rings soxfan! And you know your lifestyle best. A lot of us (myself included) have gone back to the drawing board several times. I hope you figure out what works best for you!

I'm 'One piece of jewelry' person, One King Ring/One Queen Ring to rule them all! :))
Currently I have only ONE expensive diamond ring. When I upgrade some of my jewelry (ring, earrings, pendant) I always love most my new favorite, so even if I have some sentiments about my old stuff, I prefer to sell and open room for the newer and more exiting diamond bling. I also change my taste during the years so I always try to follow what attracts me!
Of course, I have plenty of 'not so expensive' jewelry to wear in different occasions, but the King is one, the Queen is one!

I am definitely and have always been a one diamond ring woman (for engagement style/wedding) but have many other right hand ring types & sizes for other fingers.
I still have my variety but my signature e-ring/wedding set is always the same - except of course when you get divorced like I have - then you may later get a new "one diamond ering" ;)

I just posted my two e-rings in SMTB- finally. haha!

:whistle:Yup! Sold several diamond ring to be able to buy my 5+ ct OEC. I love having one signature ring (and a collection of colored stones rings for my other hand). I totally can relate what you are up to. But I am glad you decided to keep your unique pear!

I just want to sell my E-rings for a three stone- 1.9 center stone and .95 total ctw sides in a WF butterflies setting. PS has RUINED me.
So you are thinking an ACA???

I know. PS has ruined me too . I’ve even thought of selling my very beloved asscher ring to get a HPD engagement ring.

My other solution is TWO rings ro rule them all :eek2::appl:

Wow. And your love for old cuts?

Interesting. As a guy I tend to think one is all you need. With a few exceptions. Maybe a rubber type ring for the lake/pool/ocean. Perhaps a plain metal wedding band for some other activity or trips to foreign countries where you don't want to expose or make a statement with your normal wedding ring.

That said, I have a small arsenal of guns and knives. I have guns strategically stashed in all the rooms in my house and garage, in addition to whatever I have on me and I sometimes carry 2 or more. My go to guns are tricked out with silencers and night optics to help keep my position secure.

My fiancee has her own set of guns, although a much smaller collection. I won't allow her to use "girl guns" as she may need to operate one of mine. Also, I have put together an escape plan and identified several strategic points of defense for her so she knows exactly what to do in case I go down, or I'm out of town. We frequently go over the plans, target shoot and run mock drills. You can never be too prepared when the SHTF.

Dang. Not sure I want to know why you have a whole arsenal and a plan to in case you need to use them ALL. But I guess you aren’t kidding if your intended can operate them all too, especially if “you go down”. Take care and I hope you will never need to execute your plan. Regardless, I don’t really see the parallel between your needing an arsenal (I assume you actually NEED it because why would anyone have ALL that if there wasn’t a necessity.) and us addicts getting more than one major ring. But thank you for empathizing. :mrgreen2:

Wow. And your love for old cuts?

I love my old cuts, they just don’t get worn a ton. After having my five stone and wearing it pretty much 24/7, I’m thinking of going in a different direction. It certainly doesn’t mean I don’t love old cuts any more. I’m going to mull it over on vaca...

What??

So time for confession. @soxfan your bringing this up again is not helping. I have always loved step cuts and have fallen in love with antique step cuts and would love one someday. I wonder if I shouldn’t sell it all to fund one now. But to get my dream step cut, selling everything wouldn’t even cover half the cost. So in reality that can’t really happen. If I ever changed my mind I don’t know if I could find another OEC like this one, unless I went the route of an ideal cut. And my OEC is in its perfect home right now. Victor told me that it’s takes him three times as long to make a setting like this one as the Emilya so it is so hard to part with it. (I was even thinking of resetting it into a solitaire again.) I have come to accept that I may just get a smaller step cut sometime in the future. I can actually see myself wearing different rings in long stretches. Sigh. We shall see...

Are you kidding me?
I am so glad to live in Europe in a country with very strict regulations on private person owning and using guns. The shootings in the US - especially in schools - make me want to cry

@soxfan please mull over it a lot. You’ve had your five stone for only a short time. You may revert back to your other rings in six months. Give it at least a year to see. It’s a big project that will require a lot of work, selling etc.

What I’ve learned on PS is that the minute we start posting about it, we start scheming about it, we are halfway there :lol::lol:

I LOVE your ring. Victor's work is amazing, but that setting is to die for. I know what you mean about not having enough to sell and buy outright. I could swing the three stone if I sold both rings. If I couldn't I wouldn't even consider it.....

With the kids getting older and college looming, adding another ring outright to my collection is probably not going to happen...
