My new ring doesn’t show the colour of the teal sapphire as much as I’d expected due to its bezel. I love the bezel and don’t want to open it up if possible but the ring appears almost black unless in direct sunlight. Would opening up windows such as in this Lucida cut Tiffany ring help or not much?Screen Shot 2021-05-26 at 10.13.20.pngScreen Shot 2021-05-26 at 10.17.54.pngScreen Shot 2021-05-26 at 10.17.49.png

It’s a very dark stone no matter what. So a bezel just makes it even darker. I’m tagging a couple of people who are really good with colored stones who might be able to help you with your question. @chrono @voce @Bron357 @T L

It looks very dark unset so I don't think there's anything else you can do.

Opening up a window would make the color lighter, but a window is a window, plus it requires you to put even more money into the stone. If your stone cost 100 quid, a recut would cost at least 50, so it makes move sense to return it if it's possible.
If the stone is already shallow, then a recut would not be possible.

The crystal itself looks overly dark, so even resetting wouldn't improve it enough to justify the extra cost.

Thanks all for your advice, appreciated! Think I'll stick with it as is.
