Opinion on whether this 5 stone ring is priced fairly?

Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a while and this is my first post. I'm looking to buy myself a combined birthday/anniversary gift. I found a 5 stone graduated oval diamond ring in a local store that specializes in preowned jewelry and coins. I love this ring, and I've gone back to visit it twice now. It's very sparkly! But I'm not sure if the price is too high, and I don't want to make a bad purchase while not knowing too much about jewelry yet. I was hoping you all could give me some opinions! Here are the statistics the store has on it:

Price: $4700 ($4230 with discount)
18k gold
3.0 dwt
2.6 total carat weight SI1-I/J

Individual diamonds are .8 SI1-I, .6 SI1-I, .6 SI1-I, .3 SI1-J, .3 SI1J

I found these two similar rings online, and it's hard for me to understand the difference between all three, although I'm partial to the one I found in person because I know I like it.

The asking price is $4700, but the sales associate said they should be able to give me a 10% discount, which brings it down to $4230. Does that seem in the ballpark of fair? Should I negotiate further?

Any and all thoughts appreciated! Thank you!!

The comps you posted are much lower carat weight at .95 ct.

The one you saw in person is 2.6 ctw. Are the diamonds natural? If so, then the 2.6 ctw definitely a better price. One potential issue is the cut on the ovals. Can’t discern the cut quality from your pic.

I think the price is okay based on carat total weight and gold. But from that photo the diamonds look like they could be poorly cut. They look very grey/dark and not in the way well cut diamonds should look in spot lighting.

Thank you both so much for responding! I was confused why the carat weight was so much more than the other rings I posted. It didn't look much larger on my size 5 finger than the Luna Skye one did on the model. But I suppose the odds the store accidentally more than doubled their estimate are low...

As for cut quality I took a video in the store, I just couldn't figure out how to post it! Trying now with imgur...

I posted a video in case that helps determine the cut quality, but I forgot to answer your other question! Yes, the store says the diamonds are natural.

I figured out how to post a video above! Do you think they also look poorly cut in the video?

@tyty333 can you please help? I do see bowties, but you’re the oval expert!

The issue I see is just mushy crushed ice and no sparkle scintillation, and if it’s pot lighting, they should be sparkling like crazy.

Is there a Tiffany near you? It’s a good place to see what well cut diamonds look like. They may have ovals.

Yes, I do have a Tiffany pretty close. Thank you for the suggestion, I will try to go there!

So given that the stones may not be cut well, would you try to negotiate a lower price for the ring, or would you hold out for a better quality item?

I wouldn't purchase if the stones weren't well cut

I would only buy well cut diamonds.
