Opinions on spacer band

Thank you everyone! So far I'm really happy with it paired this way, it's truly just the look I have been admiring on PS for years. I just saw a friend I haven't seen in years and she kept gushing about how great my set looked and how much she liked the look of the two bands with the solitaire, so that was very nice to hear!

The last option is GORGEOUS. I have a full bezel eternity wedding band for that same issue of the basket/prongs and my band. I even complicated the matter by getting different gold alloys (18k e-ring, 14k bezel band) and was SO worried about the 14k destroying my e-ring’s prongs. So far, nothing noticeable to the naked eye and it’s been almost 8 years.
Maybe it’s something you can live with a year or two with the perspective of, “maybe it won’t be a huge problem but if it is, I’ll get the prong replaced and figure out a band to help with the issue.”
It sounds like you just need a break to reduce your decision fatigue.
Whatever you decide, you have a beautiful wedding set!

Ooooh, a full bezel eternity sounds amazing, can you post a picture of your set? That is one small issue with this set as is, both of the bands are only half bands so they keep spinning. But you're right, I definitely have decision fatigue right now and I might regret it in the future but I really don't want to start looking for an eternity now.

My wedding band is from WF, it may be the Danielle Jazz band? I fell in love the scallop like edge and the protection bezel came with. Also, it’s so light and delicate at this size, which works well with my JA ER. Mine is a 3/4 eternity, I meant full bezel. Sorry for any confusion! But the 3/4 makes it more sizeable if needed, so I’m okay with it. It doesn’t spin too much.
These are cellphone pics I just took, I don’t have any beauty shots handy. :oops2:

I tried wearing my new solitaire with a super thin spacer band I already owned and my wedding band was still hitting the prongs. Honestly as fun as jewelry is, the last thing I want to do right now is to research and buy something else. After the upgrade process I just need a break.

I have a 2mm domed stainless steel band I've been wearing but I don't want it to damage the other rings so it's just a very short term solution. I've since gotten a 1.5mm knife edge spacer. I think I like it but I can't decide if I would prefer all the bands to be the same width. The knife edge band is also a little thinner so doesn't stick out quite as far on the sides, although it's a little small so if I keep it I could get it resized which may help with that.

Which of these looks better? Do you usually prefer a spacer to blend in or have it's own presence? The Valoria is supposed to be 1.9mm but looks much thinner than the 2mm spacer, so it's definitely possible this cheap 2mm band isn't actually 2mm.

My setting does have a matching band but it costs 3x as much as this 1.5mm spacer and I honestly am just hoping for a cheap solution right now. But don't want to have to spend more in the future on a do-over.

Any opinions are appreciated!

Hi, I have the Valoria on its way to me and I am also having issues either finding a spacer or a new band. The decision exhaustion is real. Where did you get the knife edge from? I like the way it looks!

If you're open to it... my wife and I had way more luck with a wedding band meant to accommodate an engagement ring with a wider crown. The Cartier Ballerine band is low profile too. This ring curves around the split shoulders of that ring in my avatar... so it should be able to curve around a solitaire without issue.

The knife edge band was from Ritani.

It was really nice & the return process was simple. Just ultimately not the look I was going for.

So I'm feeling pressure to make the "right" choice while I'm still in the return period for the setting. I honestly didn't want to buy anything new but I bought a small band to try. Shout out to @mochidiamonds because I saw she pairs this style with her Valoria. The milgrain edge keeps the stones from rubbing at any angle. Thoughts on this look? Is it too much or does it detract too much from the center stone?

Sorry to bother you again! Whats the carat of your engagement ring? I love the size. I may use your pic as inspiration for the prongs of my new valoria, they are just perfect!

Aww thank you, that's so nice to hear. My prongs turned out absolutely perfect! I asked for petite claw but with rounded tips vs the sharp points. My stone is 1.95. It's an amazing size and I love the Valoria. I look down a million times a day and feel so lucky because I've wanted this forever & can't believe it's actually mine. How big is your new stone?

And I completely understand your feelings about finding the right band. Once you've spent so much you definitely don't want it to get chewed up by another band and lots of bands will rub the Valoria. I'm really happy with my stacked look and the milgrain band in the middle solved the rubbing issues. I just wish they were eternities because there is quite a bit of spinning between all 3.

I worked with Michelle and got my ring in August of 21. Maybe you could ask your SA if they have record of who the bench was. Could be too much of an ask but just a thought.

What a gorgeous size. I just found your post about it originally, its always been a dream of mine to have a larger engagement ring too. I had a 1.1 ct amora gem which was lovely but really wanted a large diamond and after I chipped it (oops lol) DH said to go for it. Amora gem was in a 4 prong and the chip was where a prong would have been in a 6. Plus, I sometimes felt my stone looked square?

My new one is 1.6 ct, my fingers are very squatty though so I worry about trying to stack another band on...I have to try on some first. I just don't seem to have a lot of real estate...And I actually just sent a picture of your prongs to Liza. I ordered back on October 28th and was told it would be closer to 12/2 when she will be finished.

Another vote for the 1.5mm. It not only helps keep them from eating each other but it also looks more intentional.

I got mine on etsy from Jewelerontheroof but I think there's something on like eweddingbands that might work, too.
