I''m in the process of designing a mother''s ring for myself. The center stone will be a concave cut citrine and blue sapphires will be somewhere on the ring. I''m in the baby phase of this

First, I know nothing about colored gemstones! Doing a search I came across Duttons Diamonds and found this:

Good stone? Bad stone?

I might do a concave blue sapphire as the center stone and small citrine''s in the ring instead...

Thanks!

Carrie

If you are into concave cutting, I suggest you take a look at Richards''s website first.

Stones listed for sale are in ''gem gallary''. You will see what a concave cut gem really look likes.

I second that! I love Richard''s concave cuts... yum yum

YINGH!!! Where have you been girl!!!!!!!!! Have missed seeing you around here!!!

looks yummy
while the concave stones Gary sells arent in the Richaard Homer class they are kewl and dont cost as much as a RH stone either.
They are awesome bling for the buck.

I don't particularly care for the faceting on that citrine you posted, seems not quite symmetric, might be the angle of the photo? and some spots that might be more 'dead' on the top and bottom?? but it's so hard to say from a photo.

And Richard Homer is definitely the way to go if you want top notch.... amazing stuff.
