I would like to get your opinions on this princess cut stone. It is an AGS Ideal(0) .70ct VVS1 F Thanks in advance.

Looks really nice. If you want to save money or get a bigger stone, you could drop clarity and/or color, but if 0.70 F/VVS1 is what you're looking for, this is an excellent choice.

yeah, it looks good :)

Thanks for the feedback. Crazy as it seems, my future fiance does not want a large diamond. She does not like jewelry. I was even hesitant to go this big, but I decided to buy her the highest quality stone that I could afford and find in this size range. .70 is definitely as large as I can go. I just was not sure about how to read the ASET. Some images have seen have less red and more green. I do not know if that matters much, but I felt good about the specs on the stone and that it was AGS Ideal. Thanks again.

Heres the specs

Shape: Princess
Carat weight: 0.69
Cut: Ideal
Color: F
Clarity: VVS1
Certificate: AGS

Depth: 73.1%
Table: 58.2%
Polish: Ideal
Symmetry: Ideal
Girdle: Thin to medium
Culet: Pointed
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 4.88*4.88*3.57
Ratio: 1.00

In general, the more red, the better. This is a good amount; I've seen ones with more, but it would be splitting hairs. You're getting near-perfect color and clarity and a perfect square ratio. All of the numbers look good, including the girdle.

About size, odds are she'll change her mind and you'll be back looking for an upgrade in a few years! Ask anyone here about "diamond shrinkage syndrome." But for now, this looks great.

Thank you for your responses. It is reassuring to know that the ASET shows good. I realized after I recieved it that I did not know how to read it. As for the size only time will tell. I will just have to buy her another one then. I am thankful to this forum as hit helped me find a beautiful diamond for my girl. Thanks again.

Congrats on your choice :appl:

it looks nice, and I like the patterning!

You're welcome! Come back and post pictures when you have it!

I just wanted to thank everyone for thier feedback and assistance. Also, your community and its resources helped me learn what I needed to know so I could find the perfect diamond for my sweetheart. This photo does not capture the beauty of the stone, but the fire and sparkle is amazing. I have not given it to her yet but I will be doing this real soon. The setting is my mothers original setting and has a lot of sentimental meaning for me. I could not be any more pleased with how this worked out. Here is the photo I took and thank you again for all your help.

Looks great! It's always heartwarming to see people use heirloom stones or settings.

it turned out beautifully! how special to use your mother's setting-you certainly picked a great diamond to put in it :)

Oh, your mother's setting is just beautiful with your new princess, what a lovely sentiment
Would love more pictures!

Thank you so much. Sometimes things just come together so beautifully that you know it was meant to be. This was one of those times. My mother offered her setting and it was originally set with a round diamond but it had a four prong box that worked beautifully with my stone. The jeweler was a man from the old world and a real craftsman who loved that I was using my mothers setting and could not do enough for us. My mother was so pleased and it was a very special moment for us to do this together. Thank you again for all your help. Here are the best photos that I was able to take with my camera. Enjoy.
