I am reposting in this section because it is about a colored stone... Sorry:
Ok... I have been debating on which section to put this question in.... but here goes.
I need some advice. We are getting a 7.8 or so spessartite from Richard Homer for a center for an engagement ring. The setting has a thick shank.. (that''s the band right) With a diamond halo... and two diamond wedding bands .41ct. Well... The bezel (the center of the halo) will only hold a 7mm stone. Since our stone is larger, our jeweler is going to add some prongs to the ring. I am going to request platinum and I was wondering.. On a colored stone... would you recommend 4 prongs, 6 prongs or double prongs? The stone is a round brilliant.
I am afraid that with light(color) prongs that 6 prongs will take away from the rich color of the stone and people will be more drawn to the contrasting 6 prongs.. will 4 prongs be better and would double prongs fancy it up a bit more?
HELP!!!!
Please any opinions would really really really help!!
I write my future in pencil so that I may erase.
