The cutest pics ever!!!!!

My dog is always so happy to see my cat, tries to get her attention when she passes him and she has this expression like, "yeah, whatever!"

Thanks for sharing those. No matter where they originated, they are truly adorable and worth the sharing!

Deb you made my day, is it Dogue de Bordeaux?
I think it is a Dogue de Bordeaux. Here is a bit of info from my favourite and indispensible dog book. " During the middle ages, the Dogue de Bordeaux was considered to be a brutal and expendable beast." They were used for hunting bear and wild pigs. They were considered to be heavy and unattractive dogs and it was considered to be no great loss if one was killed in a fight. By the end of the middle ages, the D d B had acquired a new role as a working dog, being used by butchers to drive their cattle to market. Today, the breed is enjoying a return to favour, renowned for it''s gentleness and devotion ( as in pics!). There are well established in their native France and are gaining in popularity in other parts of the world.

Practical information suggests that these make excellent guard dogs or companions. They also need lots of exercise. C sections are often necessary in pregnant bitches due to the size of the pup''s heads.

how adorable!!!

They also need lots of exercise.

This is funny! I read the opposite, that if the dog were walked regularly that he could even live in a city because the breed is inactive!!!

Deb

I think maybe some books greatly encourage the exercise especially with larger dogs, but as you say regular walks are the important thing, not necessarily chasing around a country meadow all day
