This is on my wish list and i[''m looking for photos of this gorgeous stone in any type setting....as well as pros and cons of the stone itself...thanks in advance.

Do not purchase it from GemsTV, it will be highly treated, and it will fade. I would get kunzite that is natural in color.

Most important to know:

- due to hardness of about 6.5 it''s not a good ring stone, it will scratch rather easily; but there''s nothing wrong with using it as a pendant, brooch or earrings stone
- due to perfect cleavage it can be split in two rather easily (compared to some gems); another reason to avoid setting it in rings
- color fades after a prolonged exposure to strong light so it''s best to wear it in the evening when light levels are not as high (a bezel or flush setting might help in that department too, but it''s tricky to do it on gems with perfect cleavage)

Kunzite from the Patroke mine, whilst usually highly saturated has not been proven not to fade. The price that GemsTV are selling it for is outrageous. Natural "normal" Kunzite can be nicer and just as deeply saturated.

While there are naturally dark shades of Afghan kunzite, I think the "Patroke" Kunzite that GemsTV gets is irradiated.
