I am going to Vegas in 3 weeks or so.

Who has the skinny on good pawn shops to check out?
There must be some nice things pawned there from divorces and/or gambling debts.
(I hope!)

THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Tessa,

I think you’re operating under a false assumption. Namely, that what’s pawned in Vegas, stays in Vegas. This is not the case. Pawnbrokers can be a pretty savvy bunch of people (or not) and they want their showroom to have things that sell in that market. This is often not the same as what people want to sell TO them. There are certainly some good deals to be had in pawnshops but, rather like jewelry stores and websites, the most important thing to look at is the character of the people behind the counter or keyboard, not the location of the store. Vegas is a fun place to visit and there are lots of stores there but don’t go there with the expectation that it’s going to be any better a place to get a ‘deal’.

I live here in Vegas and I''ve actually found that the Superpawn stores are pretty decent. My favorite one is one that is on Boulder Highway, the people are real nice and you can bargain with them.
