Hello All:

I''m doing some research for my cousin who''s looking for Pics of Sapphire engagement rings, preferably pear shaped. After much searching I''m having a hard time coming up with Sapphire Pear pics. If you have seen something in your travels please post a pic!

Thanks so much!!

OK, I was considering this stone for myself, but I've pretty much decided to get another color. This website has some beautiful pear shaped sapphires and their prices are pretty good. http://www.ajsgems.com/SAP/SAP-00185.htm

Here's a link to the page with 1-2 carat stones with pear shapes from that company. http://www.ajsgems.com/SAP/SAP-1-1.996-s.htm Some others to choose from in larger carat weight as well.

While I was in my jewlers shop last weekend, he had just completed an engagement ring with a pear shaped blue sapphire set in this setting http://www.dirtcheapdiamonds.com/engagement-detail.cfm?did=E5432 It was absolutely GORGEOUS!!

Wow that setting is great! Thanks! She''s paying $1500 for a 2.00ct sapphire pear, which I''m almost postive is heat treated. Do you think she''s overpaying?

I really don''t know what makes up the price difference between stones. The AJS site has stones from $300 to $1450 in the two carat range. They are all heat treated. I''m not too knowledgeable about colored stones. I just know what looks good to my eyes. Perhaps some of the experts can chime in about why such a big difference from stone to stone.

I''d like to see a nice padparadscha in there... But a tsav would like nice, too.

As of 12/06/04, there are 14 pears on the Pala website.
