Haven't shopped for Pear shape at all, so not sure how they price out versus other fancy shapes. In general though, that sounds pretty cheap for a 1 carat. EGL is typically, not always, but typically less reliable of a certification. So your H SI2 may actually be a I or J and less clarity than an SI2. If it is from a reliable source or B & M you know and trust well, or it has been independently appraised, then you should be fine. I myself was mezmorized by an EGL stone that turned out not to be all it was promised as. So just maybe suggesting to look a little harder. May very well be an H SI2 and a great stone. Certainly not saying all EGL cert's are bad. Just less stellar of a reputation that say, GIA or AGS. Good luck.

I'm no expert, but that sounds very deep for a pear. If you do a pricescope diamond search here, I think you can find a much better cut pear for that price.
