Amber! The Paula V is my fiance''s LEAST favorite. Which is funny. Really funny.
I agree with him.

I LOVE the second dress on you - positively STUNNING!

I think the third would look nice in the right size.

I''m not a fan of #5, I think it makes your waist look bigger instead of accentuating it. In a strange way, the different fabric seems to cut you in half.
My fiance just read this and said, "EXACTLY MY POINT." Apparently aljdewey you just hit the nail on the head.

No one else thinks the skirt on the second looks well... wrong?

The third did look good when it was pinned to look like it fit. It''s also inexpensive. Which I REALLY like. A lot.

Just started looking at photographer prices. I about died. Prices in DC are HIGH. Welll SF was really high too... but I got lucky. Maybe I''ll get lucky again. Who knows. I want film ceremony, formals and ''just the two of us'' pics. Digital reception. Straight digital is in my price range.

Okay well... went to a HORRID bridal shop to try on the one gown I still wanted to try on. Only tried that ONE gown on though because the place was so awful... and it wasn''t as nice as these so....

These are OFFICIALLY the Final Three.

First, the second Paloma. It really looks the best in terms of fit... and even though I''m not crazy about the silk shantug fabric I think once streamed and pressed it will look good. Just waiting to have the seamstress look at the gown and see if the neckline can be altered just a bit. If It can''t... well. I think I''ll go with the other Paloma.

Second, The Mikaella with the straps. Also very figure flattering-- looks younger and a little more sexy than the rest (when properly fitted). Very different. It''s not silk like the other two... but then again it''s VERY affordable. I need to ask myself whether or not I would consider it a strong possibility if it were the same price as the others... or if I''m liking it because of the price.

Third, The First Paloma... it''s soft and romantic and has the organza fabric I really wanted (my mother''s wedding gown was organza). It''s also very classic and antiquey-- which I love. If I could get the neckline I want on this gown (I can''t though) I think it would be my first choice.

I think he''s seeing what I''m seeing......the diff material shows your waist going in, but it leaves your eye sitting at the widest point at the bottom of that fabric.....it makes you look wider in the hip than you are.

I think the reason the skirt on the second looks off to you is because it''s not hemmed. Once it fits properly, I think you''d love it. It will properly show the ripples in the fabric from the gathering on the right hip.

I''m not surprised to hear the third looked good - that was my second choice.

Being that you *can* afford any of the three (I think), don''t let price be a consideration.

I think the key consideration should be ''how does the dress flatter me?''

Based on that, your first and second pics above are a toss-up for me - I love them both, and they both accentuate your figure perfectly.

I''m not as wild on the first Paloma. For me, it''s a very distant runner-up to the first two.

Go with the one YOU love. They all look good, so you can't go wrong. From your "final 3" post, I think it's clear that you favor the first Paloma, and a one angle shot with a camera phone only shows us so much.

I was trying on a dress recently and liked it, but told my consultant I'd have to change this, and this, and she said to me "If you don't mostly like the gown for what it is, then it isn't the gown." Sounds like you mostly like the first Paloma.

Ebree. Yes, I do mostly like the gown. I really do. But that goes for all of them. I like the first Paloma except for the neckline, the second except for .... well see here's a pic of the second paloma on the website... it dips slightly in the middle. It doesn't IRL-- just goes straight accross. I just want it to do that. Aljdewey is right about the skirt... once it fits in terms of length it will probably hang right. And the Mikaella... well. I don't like the flowers that hold the picks ups up but that's an easy fix--and I'm a fabric snob so I prefer silk (price difference between the Mikaella and the Paloma's is only 250 bucks... I'm just being a scrooge).

I have a feeling that none of them are 'the one'... but... it's just a dress. I've been looking at hundreds of them. None of them have hit me as 'perfect'... so well... I'm just going to go with affordable, flattering, and well constructed. Is that terrible? I consulted a custom gown seamstress... and she qouted me 2200 for what I want. That's more than I want to spend. And the only other gowns I love are Rivini's... and they are 5000. Ouch. Plumbing.

I think #2 looks fab on you!
