Hey Kaleidoscope!

I truly do LOVE the dress. Particularly the bottom skirt part! The whole dress is like a cool twist on the normal wedding dress ;)

I do think that detailing on the veil, while beautiful, would take away from the dress though...just because there are already so many different textures and designs.

Thank you Lauren and snow_happy for the lovely compliments!

Hehe, I wouldn''t call that a "lovely" compliment, although I meant it completely as a compliment, it came out as more shock & awe, and about as eloquent and classy as a gutter-mouthed trailer queen.

It really is simply a beautiful dress, and I can''t wait to see pictures of you in it!

I think that the detailing might be too much for your dress but the sheerness would be great.

You can definitely get the drop veil in cathedral length and it would be shorter in front. There are also many cuts to the drop veil (round, angel - like the picture, etc.)

Here''s something to keep in mind; my hair and make-up artist told me to choose my hairstyle first then choose my veil. She said a lot of brides do it the other way around and end up with an unflattering look. But, if you already know your exact hairstyle, I say get it done (or do it yourself), then go veil shopping to get the full effect.

If you are not a "must have blusher" bride, I think a single layer cathedral veil without a veil would look smashing. I think you said you were wearing you hair up and whether if you go for a hairdo with alot of height or more of a low chignon, the single layer cathedral without the blusher would be such an amazing look.

Let me paraphrase: Lauren thank you for your unrefined and blunt compliment!

Skylah,

I never though about the fact that I should pick out the hair style before looking for a vail. Here are some of the hair styles I was thinking about.

Jcrow, love that one too...I'm downloading your picture as we speak!

I love the eye makup too!

Love love love that jessica alba hair-do!!! It''s very regal.
I think with your very dramatic dress you should try your hair up.

Scintillating...

Scintillating, that's actually my favorite so far!

But, I'm a bit concerned that my head will look too big with that hair style.

I don't want anything too structured. I like the renaissance feel to the hair.

Oh wow wow wow! Your dress and location are gorgeous!

5'6 1/2 in and 105 lbs? I think I hate you.

Does anyone else besides me think that the Jessica Alba hair style may make my head look to big?

That dress is just to die for!!

And no, I don''t think that hairstyle will make your head look too big LOL if it bothers you that much you could just get the hairstylist to do it less poufy if that makes sense.

Kaleid -- that''s so funny that you said that because i was going to post that while I do love Jessica Alba''s hair in that picture, i think it makes her forehead look bigger than normal so if you have a bigger forehead you might want to be careful

hello!

i like the dress. very bold.

but, i''m posting more about the hair. i love both looks. i just had a hair trial this past weekend when i was up visiting our reception site. i basically asked for and got the same style as uma''s but with a little around the face because i have shorter side swept bangs. i thought that i would completely love it, and i did from the front, but to me the back kind of looked a little like a "bird''s nest" just a big tangle of curls. uma''s looks lovely, but you can kind of see the big tangle. so, i think that i might still do the waves, but pin them into more of a structured bun??

has anyone else tried this style? the messy updo?

That dress certainly makes a statement! Looks perfect w/ your opera house location. And I love the super glam Jessica Alba hair w/ the dress too

you guys have such good taste

Lovelylulu - thanks for the suggestion. I never though about the fact that it may end up looking like a birds nest, but I can absolutely see how it could. It is not an easy hairstyle and I can see how simulating it can miss the look of it. I would imagine that it must be hard to replicate such a style in such a way that it would have the same look. That is why I''m waiting to see how it looks after a hair sylist does it to pass judgment on whether I''m going with it.

SanDiegoLady - I actually have long hair so hopefully the hair style will work well on me. I''m trying to grow out my short layers so that they would fall out of my hairstyle.

Icekid - thanks so much for your comments. We loved how classic/antique the catering place looks yet still very moulin rouge. Plus the ceremony will be in an all glass room so it has a more nature/casual look to it. We liked the combination. Also it was nice knowing that I can get as crazy of a dress as I want and it would likely not be too much for the hall.

OMG, both the dress and the hall are stunning!! Can''t wait to see the wedding pics! And post some pics of you in the dress, okay?

Kaleidoscope - What a gorgeous gown and location!!! I vote for the simple bun or french twist for the hair... I think the dress speaks for itself and like the simple lines of those two hair styles.

Selflove, thank you I love that you like the dress. I'm hopping to get the pics form my parents digital camera some time soon.

flopkins - yes I too think that simple is better for this dress. So does that mean that you are opposed to the Jessica Alba hairstyle?

I''m a bit slow in responding, but I LOVE that dress..and the location! Wish that dress would work for a backyard tropical wedding, but I don''t see that happening for me

I''m sure it will look just fabulous on you and make your FI weak in the knees!

Hello,

With that dress and locale you are sure to be the show-stopper. I agree you don''t need a veil, but maybe a short one if you really wanted one. I like all the hairstyles but the Jessica Alba one is a little bouffant for me. I think I like the half-up half-down style the best, or the one right after Jessica that looks a little messy/funkier - should match the rock star spirit of the dress well.

~~Wow!! That is one beautiful dress!! I love the beaded bodice and the bottom is stunning!!!!
