i just got back from perusing the diamond stores in nyc and figured i am now pretty numb to LARGE GORGEOUS rocks simply due to the massive numbers i saw but then i wandered onto here and my first thought was "HOLY MofG, now THAT is ROCK

Hmmm, Saturdays seem like "peak hours". I propose Mondays, everything Miss Reena said and I'll thrown in walking the dog. Uh, you DO have dog, don't you? If not, I'll get you one....I WIN!

LOL

Ok, ok, maybe we can work out a timeshare type of thing?
wink2.gif
Alright, alright...I'll stop now.

In any case, your ring is outstanding ... enjoy.

Wow! That's enormous and absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations!

Sounds like everyone is dying to go over to Didiamond's place to check out her new 5ct baby in person... LET'S have a self-invite-party... BYORC (bring your own rock candy) or BYODR (bring your own diamond ring). we can check out each other's "bling-bling".

That's a ring Liz Taylor would be proud to wear!

I LOVE the proportions of this stone. You seem to be surprised that it was from Cartier. Was it an estate purchase? Or did the husband just pick it out for you?----------------

Daniela, I was VERY surprised that it was a Cartier! My hubby saw the ring first but there was no mention of it until I saw it. It is a lovely bonus and I'm pleased as pie!

LOL! You guys are cracking me up! Sorry Ivy, I don't have a dog but I do have a kitty cat. I don't think he's too keen on being walked on a leash! But thanks anyway! Don't let that stop you from coming over though!

Reena, when are you moving in? I mean, I need to get the room ready and all before the big party!

Thank you all so very much for your absolutely WONDERFUL compliments on my new ring! I am so flattered by all of your comments. Pricescopers are amazingly generous people!

That is absolutely gorgeous. It is HUGE. I am SPEECHLESS!

It looks beautiful!!

Okay Reena, I'm ready!
10.gif
Just sittin by the pool awaiting the arrival of my new friends. That would be cool if we all lived in the same city and could meet once a week for "diamond night out"!

Treysar, thank you so much! BTW, I love your kitty avatar. How cute is that?!

Extremely lovely...it seems to have alot of fire which I haven't seen that much in emeralds it seems...so the cut seems like it'd be pretty good? Do you know more? I'm not an expert on the fancy stones but this thing looks like a crisp, clear fireball which is a great combo. I love it with your anniversary band. Congrats and wear in great health!

didiamond,

the ring is absolutely splendid. I have really no words beyond that.

Enjoy and wear it in good health.

mara..Thank you! I'm glad my pictures were able to show the fire that you see. I'm finding it hard to capture this in photos. It definately "lights up" the inside of my car while driving. Here are the specs (sorry I didn't post them in their entirety early on):

kamuelamom..thank you!

Gorgeous ring!!!

Seeing that you now have this beauty, and probably won't have time to wear the other ones, I will gladly offer to wear your round brilliant with oval sides three stone ring. I will even do it for free!

Teehee, watch out for those cars!
9.gif
Sparklies can be distracting, huh?
10.gif

Diane that is a stunning ring. I love the simplicity of the setting too - that is one stone that deserves the center stage! Do you know the approximate era it was cut in? Just wondering if it was a vintage or modern piece. The squareness of the emerald cut just makes me curious as to whether or not it might be a close cousin of an original asscher? Congratulations on your new piece of sunshine, it is a true classic stunner.
appl.gif

Kind regards,
Beth

kayla...That is so kind of you to offer!
3.gif
You're right though, nothing is getting equal time. Bad me. I'm playing favorites at the moment.
8.gif

kamuelamom...I know it's distracting but I just can't help myself!

Beth...Thank you. I wish I could tell you more about it but I just don't know. The GIA cert was issued in 2003 so I'm going to assume that it was cut in the last few years. As far as it being a close cousin of the Asscher, I don't think so. This diamond is not a perfect square. It's more of a fat rectangle. The length/width ratio is 1.12:1 and an Asscher is around to 1:1 (don't quote me on this. I'm not an expert!
2.gif
). Either way, I am extremely thrilled with the cut!

Uh, well you see, officer, I was driving along and was suddenly blinded by the reflection on my, er, new sparklie, and no, I truthfully *didn't* see the car in front of me....
9.gif

Don't worry Di, I can relate. I especially love the mirror ball effect I sometimes get when I'm driving.
9.gif
I think we can all relate to that kind of distraction.
