I have a soft spot for Asschers but we all know they face up small, are often cut badly, show inclusions and, all in all, are a PITA compared to other cuts - but, that said - we love them. I have been looking for a 1 carat range one that doesn’t break the bank, for a right hand ring...for a while.

Well, BOOM! Found one at a vendor I’ve bought from and really like. So, I took a plunge/gamble/leap on a 1 carat H SI1 at Ivy and Rose with a indented natural that’s pretty damn clear and sits right on a facet, so it’s eye clean. Important for a PITAsscher, Excellent cut polish and VG cut. Yes, I know it’s not GIA so I’ll say she’s VG on both fronts.

After a vodka tonic, who can tell anyway?

I also found a great Ivy & Rose off the shelf setting very well priced given where gold is at setting it will fit, score! This thing is not much more coin than a plain old Stuller metal setting, second score! It’s a sapphire and white gold modern Art Deco inspired affair with some lovey hand engraving.

Historically, I have been a clarity snob but you all have taught me to embrace the eye clean SI’s - so here’s to my first SI PITAsscher.

This is the set up but not fully set. This was the test fit from Sara at Ivy and Rose, who was great, btw.

It's so pretty...congratulations.

Great job choosing an asscher with your own eyes and not just relying on its specs on paper. Lovely find and the setting is so perfect with it. I especially love the sapphire detailing!

Thank you. Appreciate this more than you know. Sometimes I think we forget these silly cut and polished rocks are each pieces of art.

The numbers and ‘specs’ can only tell you so much....the table on this is way too big, per the numbers, but that seems to add to the allure for me.

More pics, that’s gorgeous!

Love it!!

As soon as I have more, I will share. And I think that inclusion is probably more of a twinning wisp than an indented natural based on that location
for what that’s worth.

I‘m hoping she will arrive in 10-14 days. Fingers crossed.

Just beautiful! You get alot of bang for your buck at Ivy and Rose!!

I love this! One of my favourite cuts with one of my favourite settings :kiss2: That looks to be a beautiful asscher and the setting really makes it pop and makes it look substantial in size as well. I'm looking forward to seeing the pics of the finished ring.

Very nice asscher and beautiful ring! I have a soft spot for asschers, too! Can't wait to see more pictures!

She’s getting ready for the mail. I’ll have her next week. Just got these photos from Jeff the shipping manager.

I asked for the stone to set as low as possible and Ivy and Rose nailed it. Hand shots next week.
