For those of you that remember, I purchased a plain flat 2mm platinum band from e-weddingbands.com about a month ago (https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/plain-wedding-band-is-here.97078/). I thought that the flat band was "too flat" to match up with my e-ring (trellis setting, 3.5mm). I purchased a plain 2mm band from Signed Pieces, and although the ring was beautiful and they were great to work with, the SP band was too rounded.
I took Kelli''s suggestion and had the band shaved. The flat band seemed closer in general shape to my e-ring than the SP band so I decided to keep it. I took the flat band in to a well known jeweler in the area who shaved down the edges to soften the band. I also took the opportunity to have the ring engraved with me and FI''s names (the date wouldn''t fit).
I just picked up the band this week and I am SOOOO happy I had it shaved down a bit. I wanted to be absolutely happy with my w-band and when it was flat, it just wasn''t "perfect" to me when paired with my e-ring. Now the two are completely matched up and I couldn''t be happier! Too bad I have to wait a while to wear them together!
