Please help evaluate two Tiffany stones

Here is a quick update for everyone that has been helping me on the journey so far.

It looks like the 1.22ct F VS1 is the best I'm going to be able to find at this moment in time at Tiffany. I purchased it knowing they have a 30 day return policy in case the forum sees something I didn't know about (I am new at this).

Can you take a look at these photos please and tell me if you see any problems?

My summary is:
-Overall proportions are "ideal"
-Ideal-Scope is "pretty good" but not perfect (duplicate pic from earlier in thread)
-It is not a true hearts and arrows - but I don't think that is possible to find at Tiffany unless you are really really lucky
-In person it is hard to see black arrows and arrow shafts, they usually want to be "white" (is this due to the 40.9 PA?)
-Indoor picture is in a bathroom with "5 incandescent globe lights over the bathroom mirror." The darkness in the 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock position is not always there... I believe it is caused by my own shadow.
-Outdoor picture is on a clear day. The fire you see in the shot was an accident. I snapped one picture in full sun and was lucky enough to capture the dispersion on my first try.

I would love to see some videos in different lighting.

It looks like a very pretty diamond! You did some good legwork and know that it isn’t a true hearts and arrows diamond. You are aware there is a difference but it is a genuine Tiffany diamond. Because you have mentioned this difference several times, just make sure that having a Tiffany ring is worth that tradeoff. Performance could be negligible, price would be a definite difference, and a bigger diamond could be had for the same money. As long as all of that is good for you, I think you are all set! The allure of Tiffany is hard to beat for some and if it makes your heart sing, go for it and enjoy it! Thanks for bringing us along on your journey as there is always something new to learn!

Hello PriceScope - I am new and shopping for a "Tiffany" that is as close to a super ideal as possible. I realize this is hard to do and I'd have better luck with Whiteflash or Brian Gavin thanks to their great value, cut quality, and imaging.

Please help me evaluate these two stones. They are from Tiffany so I don't have any Idealscope or ASET images. I might be able to take a picture with my Idealscope in the store.

-Both are < 2 on HCA
-Both pass the PriceScope "recommended proportions"
-Both fall within Whiteflash ACA Specifications

I wanted to check to see if there were any insights from the PriceScope forum based on the cut specifications.

It may come down to which one has better optical symmetry when viewed with the Idealscope.

Thanks for your help!

Not sure why you put Tiffany in quotes " ". As you are well aware , Tiffany is an established brand. Copies are generally referred to in "quotes".

Searching is fun, yet can be trying. Hope you find the ring of your dreams.

Thanks for your insights MissGotRocks!

The first two tradeoffs are easy:
-I am good with the price difference
-I am happy with the size

The performance is the tradeoff that I don’t have enough experience to fully analyze. My hope in posting the last round of photos is to see how close I really am to super-ideal performance. I have made peace with accepting a very small decrease in performance if it means the ring is from Tiffany.

If you and the experts on the forum estimate that Tiffany has a lot of better cut stones out there, then perhaps I should keep looking.

If the general belief is that this is about as close to super-ideal as one can reasonably expect to get from Tiffany, then I really am all set!

In either case, I have learned that there is a whole lot more to diamonds than I first realized - and all of PriceScope has really been helpful in teaching me about it.

Good! I am so glad to hear you say that above all else, you wanted a Tiffany diamond. I was afraid that you weren't totally decided.

I haven't seen all diamond that Tiffany sells but you have gone through stats of the diamonds they recommended for you. The stats on this diamond are good and I am truly not sure you would find better in their inventory at this time.

The big question is this - are you happy with this diamond? When you look at it in various lighting, do you like what you see? You are the one to be wearing it every day so you need to make sure it pleases you! Noting too that all lighting is not the same or will produce the same results but good to travel around with it and see what you think!

I would love to see some videos in different lighting.

I took 3 videos for you all today with an iPhone:

Indoor - Long - on bathroom countertop

Outdoor - Long

Outdoor - Short

Wow! That ring is stunning. I've always loved the Tiffany solitaire setting, and that diamond is gorgeous.

Yep - I am set on a Tiffany - for better or worse... richer or poorer =)

Thanks for helping estimate the odds. This is good news! If there are members that have differing opinions - please let me know. (Obviously there is no way to know exactly what inventory Tiffany has and what will come up in the future - all we can do is guess). Guesses are good.

I like what I see! To my amateur eyes, it looks great- especially outdoors.

What I see:
Indoors: Lots of brightness - almost too much - to the extent that the arrow tips are hard to see - they never really go dark. The arrow shafts do go dark. I wish I could see a bit more arrows.

Outdoors in the sun: The whole stone is darker - in a good way. The sun really sets off the fire on a clear blue day.

In a car: Crystal clear - very see through. You can see the individual facets. It looks unbelievably colorless in this type of ambient lighting.

Thanks for your thoughts - The setting is one of the better ones I've seen in store. There seems to be quite a bit of variation from setting to setting (some have bent prongs, etc).
