Hi ,all ladies.
I''ve been read the forum for awhile and I ''m so in love with PS.
Now it''s time for me to choose my rock. I''m very confused.
The thing is I will order the 3 stones e-ring (2 pear side stones)
My center is Round brilliant 2.xx carats.
I have OCD re-thinking about the RB center ,which one is the best.

The 2 stones are 2.09 VS 2.19 carats
J color , vvs2 clarity, both has the similar "Excellent" specificity (in term of cutting, fluorescense, table ,etc. )

The only thing that make me nuts is ....
2.09 ct has measurement 8.15 x 8.24 x 8.62
2.19 ct has Measurement 8.42 x 8.44x 5.07
Price is different around 2,857 $

Do you actually think that ,it''s a huge different in size when I put it all together with side stones? I mean from the measurement the 2.19 is look more enormous than the 2.09 ?

I know ..I know ..I''m so insane ..only 0.30 mm can make me nuts

Do you have the depth, table, crown, and pavilion angles?

oh ,I don''t have .
But is only the Measurement enough to say how big is the diamond?

Hi Luxlady and welcome!

We need the info Julie mentioned in order to help you learn which diamond is the best cut, the measurements you gave will indicate how large the diamonds look, but the depth, table and angles are crucial to determine whether the diamonds are well cut or not. And you want well cut stones for your ring to sparkle and shine!

The info we need will likely be on the grading reports if you look or ask the vendor?

oohhh ,too bad

Sorry to ask for yet more info, does this diamond have an HRD report?

Is there a typo in the 2.09c diamond? the depth dimension seems to be off at 8.62mm.

From the dimensions you gave for the 2.19c, looks like a very good cut at HCA = 2.3. It has a good spread, with a 60, 60 cut. Any chance of getting an idealscope image for that? Could be a good buy.

I don't think so as I take it from what was written that the diamonds are from an actual store.

LuxLady if you have seen the diamonds in person, do you have a preference?

Aside from the cut, as far as the size goes, there''s not a huge difference. It would most likely be noticeable if you put them next to each other, but not a huge difference.

Your ring is going to be really pretty, I love this combo!

Have you seen any of these diamonds in person? Do you have a favourite?

Lux Lady,

These diamonds have pretty bad HCA scores (5.2 and 5, when you want less than 2.) That''s all we know on our end. If you like one of them very much, then that would be a good choice. But you might be able to find nicer stones if you keep shopping.

Ditto. I''d suggest looking here and put in excellent-excellent for cut:

Well, I initially looked locally, too, and eventually bought from vendors I met here, because their stones were better cut and were offered at a better price. I wouldn''t buy a stone with an HCA score of over 5, so I was just mentioning a way to find better cut stones if she wanted to explore that option. But if she is not concerned with getting ideal cut, I think she should just choose the one that looks the best!

oooohh I wish too. I''m not living in USA. Buying online may be to risky

Buying online can be a straightforward and risk free procedure if you work with a trusted vendor, but I completely understand if you prefer not to do so, buying online isn't for everyone.

What you could do, is to order one of these for $25 USD, an Idealscope. This little tool will tell you how well your diamond is cut, you can take it with you when viewing stones.

http://www.ideal-scope.com/cart_zoom_item.asp?Id=2&ShowAdd=Y

And here is a chart which helps you interpret the results.

http://www.ideal-scope.com/using_reference_chart.asp

But if you have a clear favourite, see if you can look at this diamond away from the store lights to make sure it still appeals to you, and compare it with as many others as possible.
