Here is what I know for sure about what I want:
I want the necklace to be 16''
WG
I want the stone to be stationary
I don’t want the stone to flip
I like at least two small little diamonds in the chain, bezel set
I am unsure if a halo would make it prettier or not
Not sure... it is large, a closed bezel would look like a heavy and not so small bucket ... to me at least. If someone can make an open back bezel (like THIS) it would be nicer, IMO. There could be some construction on the back to keep the back of the stone away from the skin too if preferred.
I am not sure what size diamonds to use for the halo if I get one or for the chain
The previous pictures imply a very thin halo - less than 2mm wide, and that gets back to the usual paved strip of pointers. The ones pictured on the chain would be small too (10 pts each maybe) to look like that.
Any thoughts are welcome!
Just a vote for the simple non-halo version with larger diamonds on the chain. More than that would turn the piece in a evening-only affair to me. The simple sounds allot more wearable. It all ends up to the question ''where and how do you want to wear this''.

Who made the basket in that picture? Was it PlatniumSmith? That could be really yummy!
No! You are mirroring my own thoughts. The one with the halo is delish, so pretty and wonderful, but then the one without the halo is clean and sharp and very pretty. I love the basket she choose for it as well. I think I would want the stone set straght on and N/S for the longer side. This is just so amazing!Date: 11/17/2005 12:07:36 PM

Matatora, I love the halo pic that Ana posted. I also like the other pic without the halo. I guess if you want an everyday necklace the one without the halo might be best. I am no help am I???

The necklace ideas are really GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!
But have you thought about having the sapphire bale set so that you can take it off the chain.
I have a diamonds by the yard necklace clone that I use alone, with a diamond solitare or a south sea pearl. It''s really very versatile.

I have a DBY necklace but I never wear it.
I dont like to wear it becuase the stones flip constantly, and the chain is not to my taste. I am thinking of giving it to my sister. I put it on Ava as a joke and my morther was spitting kittens.Date: 11/17/2005 5:06:34 PM

Is it the one with multiple stones or solitaire? Would it work to use it as the chain to attach the spinel to? That should put it to use...
LOL! You should have taken pictures! I bet that was adorable (Ava, not your mom spitting kittens)!Date: 11/17/2005 5:13:54 PM
