I am trying to buy a cushion and need everyone's help picking it. Problem is that I have no idea what to look for even after watching countless videos on optics. I definitely don't want watery crushed ice appearance and preferably not crushed ice but a good modern brilliant cut.
They don't provide aset imaging. ;(

Any tips and advice on what or how I should be analyzing them?
Do any of these look good or should I keep searching?

If a video makes analyzing optics easier, I can ask. What are your thoughts?

I really appreciate everyone's help!

You know, I'm not even going to look at the stones you picked. If you want to see some amazing cushions with spectacular reflection, fire and scintillation, you need look no further than Good Old Gold. He recently patented his August Vintage cut and it is breathtaking. Several people on this board have them and from what I've heard, are very happy. If I'm not mistaken, it's the furst cushion cut that AGS rated as Ideal for light return.

He has some videos on YouTube comparing them to other cushion cuts, and there's no comparison. Never seen anything like them.

Keep looking. Try JA. Give me a budget (under 10k is what I am seeing) for you and I'll look for you on there.

Also GOG is a great recommendation. Their Signature Modern cushions are great. I like this one. http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/11988/ This is the one, if eyeclean, I'd recommend for you. To see price add to cart. It's 10,542 which looks like it is a smidge over budget for you.

Thank you for your help Gypsy! I decided to take your advice and pass on it. I guess I checked your links too late and someone else jumped on the 2 of the 3 you recommended because I can't see them. :errrr: I'll check JA and see what items they have right now. Thank you for keeping an eye out for anything good. :wink2:

Do you mind me asking why do you recommend JA?
Does JA typically avoid crushed ice stones?
Other than GOG, are there any other vendors that have developed an acclaimed reputation for finding excellent modern cushions?

I'm very color sensitive, I think I would notice the J. My goal is to get it for about $10k (but I'm trying to stay under if I can help it), I think I can settle with an H at the lowest to really maximize the size. What do you think?

I wish I could afford the August Vintage SandyinAnaheim but I want to get the largest stone for the buck and AV's are premium as they are beauties.
